Critical Impact [Crit]
Talking about alliances is pointless. There’s no way to actually regulate it or even control your own members from ignoring it.
I doubt this would ever happen, but my suggestion to anet would be to neutralize two servers so they could not attack each other IF the third server gains X% (75%?) of the globe.

I’m sure wintersday will be fun, with many updates. I do hope they scrap one time events and at least replay them every couple hours like the original. This will let everyone play it and keep servers from overloading.
In addition, devs have said that 2 large updates are coming in Jan and Feb, the two combined are comparable to an expansion and larger than all of the updates combined thus far. I believe some PvP, Guild and WvW updates will be in those Jan/Feb updates.
Critical Impact [Crit]
GW1 was all soloable, even towards the end, all dungeons were soloable…and it KILLED the game. No one plays with anyone any more, why would you with Heroes around? I don’t think the answer is to make GW2 more soleable, I think the OP has the right answer, go find a game better geared for him. Skyrim is a great RPG. I haven’t played other MMO’s so I can’t advise on those.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Typically, only half are full and the other half very high. Hopefully they increase server space when wintersday launches on Friday.

I have a 2011 iMac. The game originally never crashed when the mac version came out. Then it started crashing multiple times an hour. I ran some test on my machine and found that my motherboard was going bad. I had it replaced from official apple store. But the crashing continues
I also play on my Mac Book Pro, but it is not strong enough and lags a lot, although it never crashes. This makes me think the iMac crash may yet again, be my machine. But seeing this thread makes me think maybe it’s not my machine.
I’m afraid to go on dungeon runs, especially Fractals (bc you can’t get back in if you crash) and even queuing for WvW is sketchy bc if it crashes I have to requeu all over again.
Critical Impact [Crit]
It’s nice you have some devs playing with you on American servers.
Not a single dev or GM has ever set foot here, on European server soil.
One of my GW2 friends is euro and plays on Desolation. He has played with lots of Devs
More so during the final betas and launch, not sure how often he sees them any more though.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Uh. Yes, they are, if they don’t have the stats they want. I want CoF looks with Power/Vit/Toughness stats? I have to transmute either AC armor or Invaders (WvW) armor to get that (which I have done.) What’s the big deal with having to transmute an armor set to get noth the stats and the looks you want? That’s the whole point!
Yes, we have transtones for this reason, so you can have the stats you want. But you shouldn’t be forced to. Right now, dungeon and karma armor comes in exotic, with 3 different stat options. cultural comes in rare with 1 stat option. They are all equally long term armors. why should one be neglected?
Critical Impact [Crit]
Why? It exists for appearance reasons, there’s no need for it to have an orange name or better stats.
It’s a long term goal basically, something for people to go for, just because some people can’t get 120 gold instantly it doesn’t mean it should be nerfed or buffed.
How is it any different from Dungeon or Karma armor which are both long term goals and come with exotic stats? They are all for looks. And the other two come in exotic. That is why it’s a little ridiculous.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Karma armor looks like kitten, so yeah you are :P
How good the armor looks is up to the player and subject to personal opinion. Whether or not you like the looks has nothing to do with the topic. Any armor that cost 120G to get should have, at minimal, exotic stats.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Exotic would be nice, available for Karma would be even better.
The value of it would go down if you made it buyable with Karma.
Why? It would still look the same…
Because it’s generally easier to earn karma than gold (daily and monthly rewards). If it went to karma, way more people could purchase it. So with more people wearing it, it would have less value as T3 armor set.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Make the stats good and ANET has two choices:
– Have the vendors stock a large list, then have to deal with people who accidentally bought the wrong item…
Exotic karma and dungeon armor is set up this way, why not cultural? If Anet deems this is a suitable solution for other sets then it should be fine for cultural too.
Until you start looking at cultural armor as a way to drive sales of transmutation stones. Then giving them lower stats makes sense.
I already thought about this, but honestly, so few people will ever get T3 armor compared to how many people play the game. T3 armor will not “drive” up the sales of transtones by much. They could make 100x that by just promoting a gem store item.
Though I’d have given them level 1 stats, just to make it clear to everyone that you shouldn’t be buying it for the stats.
This is the point of the post. For someone taking the time to earn enough gold to buy it and we are left with crap stats and we shouldn’t be. Are players forced to transmutate their Karma armor after earning and spending 252,000 karma? Are players forced to transmutate their exotic dungeon armor after 30 dungeon runs for tokens? NO. So why should people be penalized for going after cultural armor?

(edited by Beorn Saxon.4762)
Ah, figures. Well for me I could care less about Ascended. Either way, T3 should be Exotic or Ascended. To have it at Rare is just ridiculous.
Critical Impact [Crit]
That won’t really make a difference when they release Exotics.
I have no clue what you are talking about.
Critical Impact [Crit]
I love the idea of cultural armor and I don’t mind spending time to make 120G. I actually want to get T1-T3 for all five races and get the Emporer’s New Wardrobe achievement. But seriously, if anet wants to make it the most expensive armor in the game (straight gold cost) and challenge us to raise about 650G then T3 should hands down be exotic armor. This is just silly in my opinion. Please change it!
Critical Impact [Crit]
I’m glad they changed it.
Critical Impact [Crit]
It is based on currently logged in accounts.
It isn’t, I’ve been on at 3 am at times when the server is very empty indeed, yet it is still marked “full”.
I believe it is, read my full definition. In order for it to actually open up, it must go under a certain soft limit. Like it needs to be 75% or less for it to bump down to ‘Very High’ etc. I could be wrong though, I’m not a dev, but that’s my 2 cents.
Critical Impact [Crit]
It is based on currently logged in accounts. I had been watching TC for days at all hours, never seeing it drop. And then another guild mate saw it open up and transferred. Later that day it opened again. It was only open for a matter of minutes both times, so it’s easy to miss when it opens up. And during each open time period, we had multiple members transfer. Telling me it wasn’t bc a lone player had left that server.
I had been checking during non NA peak hours – 12, 2 and 4 am. But when they opened up it was actually during NA peak hours. 10:30 and 5:30pm.
I suspect that that there are three population limits. Soft, Ideal, and Hard. Ideal would be for example, let’s have 10,000 players on at all times. So during a time period if it drops down to, let’s say, 9,900 players, it will tick over to ‘Very High’, allowing more players to let it hit that ideal 10,000. Once it hits 10K it bumps back to ‘Full’. I’m guessing the ideal number is quite below the Hard number. Hard meaning, this is the actual max the server can hold, like 25,000 at once. So during the 1 time events and Friday night WvW reset, when everyone logs in at once from the server, they can all do so.
Also, I agree, anet should add an option to queue for a server. It’s so silly to have to constantly be monitoring it.

I’ve been a faithful player of GW1 and GW2. But this makes me so angry and sad. This is the first time I’ve truly been upset.
It’s just unfair. Random loot is fair, but only having that loot drop at one time during an entire event is not.
If this was your idea of how to balance out the market cost of a precursor it stinks. Why not just have increased precursor loot drops during the whole event instead?!?!
Critical Impact [Crit]
The front page should have a widget for recent threads, recent comments, and hot threads. A lot of times I come here just to see what’s going on and if there are any questions I can help answer. It’s very tedious to check every single forum sub section to see what’s active and hot. And because there is no widget to help with this, I end up just perusing what Devs are commenting on which usually ends up making me depressed because usually they are commenting on all threads of crazy people raising ruckus and general complainers. And typically, a thread that a Dev has already commented on doesn’t need my two cents anyhow.
Critical Impact [Crit]
I am considering transferring my guild to another server. We currently have nearly all upgrades unlocked. If we transfer will we have to start from scratch?
Currently that is my understanding, and I must say, this stinks. My guild is small but active, we worked hard for those and would rather just scrap the guild and join a larger one then start from nothing.
Has anyone else run into this. Should the mechanics be changed?
Critical Impact [Crit]
$20-$30 and got nadda. I desperately want the chainsaw skin for my sylvari too
Critical Impact [Crit]
I can’t make the event, and I’m super bummed about this. Other than missing the event, I’m also worried that I’ll miss the chance at some 1 time gift or halloween item tied to the event.
Guild Wars 1 had finale events, but they reset every 3 hours for 24 hours to make sure everyone could make it. Each event also ended with an exclusive holiday hat. I really wish/hope anet changes this 1 time event in the future to play more like the original.

I know it is frowned upon, ruins the economy, and soon the banhammer will drop on bots and gold sellers, but is the act of receiving gold from a gold seller bannable?
Critical Impact [Crit]
I’ve been DC’ing and in some cases, crashing and having to restart. I did not have this issue before. It has developed over the last week or so. My guildies play PC and havent had the same issues. When we run dungeons or PvP’d I’ll DC multiple times while they all keep playing. It is extremely frustrating.
Critical Impact [Crit]
For those of us that use the TP a lot, we know there is a 5% listing fee, and 10% tax. This means that you should list things for at ~20% more in order to pay for the fee and actually make a small amount.
The TP is horrible bc most players do not realize this and are actually losing money to sell stuff, which kills the market for the rest of us.
In order to help fix this, I suggested adding a line that shows you the 10% tax up front (in addition to the existing 5% fee, and a line that calculates what your end profit will be.
I have seen ppl selling junk for 1 copper with a 1 copper fee. These ppl are basically giving away/being charged to sell there stuff. Yes, I know they are idiots for not paying attention. But can Anet help by at least making it more obvious?
Critical Impact [Crit]
Okay I beat it finally and I’ll share what I did in case it helps anyone else.
STEPS WHEN I FAILED/HIT BUG
1) Ran to the beach ahead of NPCs. They all died fighting their way to beach, but I triggered the next steps anyhow. I could hear them talking as if they were with me, but they were not.
2) After solo fighting the beach I entered the water. I took the map FIRST and then killed the whole crew.
3) On the last guy he would always regen.
4) I went back and rezzed NPC’s > fought our way to the beach > entered the water with Trahearne. Boss still regenerated.
STEPS WHEN I SUCCEEDED
1) I asked a guild member to help.
2) We fought to the beach WITH the NPCs.
3) Once we entered the water we took out the crew > the boss > got map last.
The ghosts do not enter the water, its part of the story so don’t worry about that. On the first run through when all the NPCs wiped…after I couldn’t beat the boss I went back to rez them and all the ghosts rezzed and then insta spawned at the final spawn. They would not leave it to come help fight after that.
Hope this helps anyone else that runs into this.

This is happening to me too. Has anyone found a solution?
Critical Impact [Crit]
I know WvW also has vistas/skill points/way points etc. Maybe you need to complete them as well, if you haven’t already.
Critical Impact [Crit]
The bank can be used to transfer money between characters. Also, there is most likely a limit to how much money you can have on your character, any excess can be stored in your bank as well (this was a common usage in the original Guild Wars).
Critical Impact [Crit]
Yep, I’m having this issue as well. I’ve nicknamed my friends multiple times and they always get wiped. I renamed them last night bf the update and they are gone again this morning.

We are building a guild for Dungeons and WvW.
Contact me in game for an invite: Breck or Beorn Saxon
Currently we have 50+ members. Guild bank, emblem, armor, weapons etc. A lot of us are real life friends and go by first name. We have a facebook page and vent. Members are treated like fam and considered as members for life. Laid back, no drama, clean language in guild chat.
