Critical Impact [Crit]
Hey guys, I’ve been farming PvP daily/monthly for the achievement points. Seems more and more people are, so I thought I’d create a custom arena for it.
Come join us!
Arena name: Dailies and Monthly
10v10, fast respawn, no trash talking.
- Battle of Khylo
- Forest of Niflhel
- Skyhammer
- Spirit Watch
Critical Impact [Crit]
You do realize, that once everyone is caught up with the retrospective AP chests, people will get these way way WAY less often. It’s just the initial back log that makes it seem like a lot.
I personally welcome the free exotic armor for my alts. Pls, keep them coming!
Critical Impact [Crit]
It depends on what you have available left to do…
Critical Impact [Crit]
With out a doubt that is Human T3 medium armor. At least the pants and chest, shoulder and shoes. The hands are radiant skin.
Critical Impact [Crit]
The experience scrolls were nice… if you didn’t already get all your toons past 20. All my toons are to high of a level, making the scroll pointless. Anet really shouldn’t have made it account bound.
Word on the street is that a new race could be in the pipelines…so save your lvl scrolls for that. Like Tengu as a playable race next month for one year anny. It’s all rumor, but hey, I wouldn’t put it past anet at the rate they are going.
I’ve also got 8 lvl 80’s, and I’m still excited about the scroll. But I’ve been wanting to recreate one of them anyhow.

I love this chest! TY anet
that and a total makever kit, 400 gems and 15 gold plus some other trinkets. Well played, most appreciated!
Critical Impact [Crit]
Interesting idea. I’d love to see this happen, but I don’t think it will. It sounds like instead they are just adding more weapons to each profession (ei. giving your profession access to more of the current weapons that are in game).
Critical Impact [Crit]
It’s not either, it’s just smart move from gaming company, give us more stuff to do. Same thing happened with WvW’s BoH. Tons of stuff were added so ppl would spend them > BoH were depleted > then ascended trinkets were added.
It will happen again I’m sure in other areas if you keep watch.
Critical Impact [Crit]
I’m an AP collector and here is my philosophy… I take the 80/20 rule. 80% of the AP’s will take up 20% of your time BUT getting the last 20% of APs will take up 80% (grinding) of your time.
I only go for the initial 80% of the APs and simple don’t peruse grindy APs that are not fun for me. I’ll be in the top collectors, but I’ll never be first and I’m okay with that.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Most (if not all) guild leaders I know agree with me when I say the guild roster is so very sad in this game. It seems nothing more than a glorified over complicated friends list.
So I nearly fell out of my chair when the devs finally did something to the roster in the last patch.
Then felt the usual disappointment when I realized that all they did was add something to make it even more unfriendly. So now I have to confirm each upgrade boost I make instead of just spamming the boosts. What a pointless update
Seriously Anet your game is called “GUILD WARS 2”, so why why why do we not have a useful roster after 9 months?
I can’t believe with so limited resources available you chose to spend them on adding a “let me annoy you by asking if you are sure” button to the roster. Then again, I can believe it :S
One of my pet peeves is people that complain but don’t offer solutions. Please tell me what so wrong, how you would fix it, or list any other AMAZING ideas you have that have not been implemented.
Critical Impact [Crit]
If you are serious about working on HoM points then shoot me a PM and I can help tailor the fastest route for how many points you need. You could hammer out 10-25 points in a few weeks. All 50 would take you a year.
A few years ago I authored the HoM wiki guide that was featured on the wiki and has been used to help many players. To someone who has never played, it would be a bit confusing, but PM me and I can walk you through it. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hom_guide
Critical Impact [Crit]
I had to mail my friend 50 silver. I sent it 3 times and it never showed up. His mail box is not full, and I definitely sent it to his account (right click > send mail).
The only thing I can think of is that I did not put any text in the subject or body. Is that a known glitch that I’m unaware of? Has anyone else run into this problem? Can I get my monies back or is it lost to the void of nothingness…
Critical Impact [Crit]
I’m sorry I didn’t explain myself properly…
Each Skin item has 3 different versions (light, medium and heavy), unlocking one means unlocking all 3 versions or just 1? That was my question.
No, there are not 3 versions. One version for all 3 armor types
Critical Impact [Crit]
Pretty sure it’s exactly like the weapon skins. You unlock it per account and can pull them out as many times as you want. One skin fits all armor types.

Yes, pls make them account bound. I’ve run into this issue where I bought two pieces for two characters, then decided I wanted to swap the stats (or wanted to change the utility infusion). This is not possible, I have to delete the ascended gear and do dailies for another month…
Make account bound and let us pop new infusions on if we choose (just like all other gear). And please at least let us salvage ascended gear. I have all of these ascended ring drops in my bank that no one can use the stats. I can’t sell or scrap them… >.<
Critical Impact [Crit]
Dups of War/Guardian (bc heavy armor is cool and fun classes)
Dups of Mesmer (for parking at JP’s etc)
Critical Impact [Crit]
^ Right along what I’m hoping for.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Hey guys, as we all know, GW2’s anny is coming up at the end of next month. We waited years to be able to play this game, and now it’s turning one
So GW1 gave players bday gifts each year a character aged. These gifts always contained minis or EL tonics that were trade-able.
Do you want bday gifts to return? What should they contain? 1 per character or 1 per account? Account bound or no?
Thoughts!

12k from salvaging repeatable?
[s]Salvaging is capped bro. You can only earn like 250 pts total from it...
Gratz to the OP![/s]

Crashing is making PvP Monthly Impossible
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Beorn Saxon.4762
My game always crashed periodically, but now it’s crashing every few minutes. I’m not a techie person, so I have no idea if this is a client issues, software or hardware problem.
Anyhow, I’m trying to do my PvP Monthly and part of it is to get 6K rank points…which is near impossible because rank points aren’t awarded until the end of the match. So when my game crashes I lose all record of points I had been building up during the match
Critical Impact [Crit]
Yes. But you’d have to use a transmutation stone.
Critical Impact [Crit]
IIRC collectables are ingredients and minis. the Taffy is a food.
They’re also a currency and analogous in every way to Candycorn from Halloween. Candycorn has its own bank tab.
…except that Candy corn is also a common ingredient for recipes which is why it was most likely added as a collectable. Taffy, as far as I know is not an ingredient at all, for anything, just a currency or food buff. So they are not the same in every way. If they made this food buff a collectable it wouldn’t be consistent with all other food buffs which have no collectable tab.

Critical Impact [Crit]
If we keep getting more back item skins every month what would you guys think if Anet made them account bound on use and gave us a collectors tab in the bank for them?
A lot of cool unique skins and I’d hate to have to start throw them away do to lack of characters or space.

E C T O SSince February, prices have been cut in half for ecto.
What is your point?
lol.
Prices have been cut in half since rares were guaranteed from dragons. You guys are saying salvage rates were stealth nerfed to near half. Even if that is true, it sounds like all it would do would put them back to their normal prices of a few months ago.
At how cheap they are, you can run CoF for an hour and just buy 50 ecto from your earnings which is way more than you could ever get from salvaging an hours worth of earned CoF tokens.

A few months ago they were 33 sliver ea. Now they are 19 silver ea.

Not the part that matters, Anet is implementing the brackets but not the “tourney” aspect.
You can’t do one without the other.
Right now putting a T1 server against anything in T2 or T3 is injustice to the lower rank servers, I don’t think Anet realizes that literal close to 24/7 coverage a T1 server has to have to be in T1 with little to no down time.
Maybe, time will tell. I’m still looking forward to the change.
I’m guessing that if they wanted to also add tourneys, they wouldn’t do it now anyway, they like to make changes slowly….so this could be the first step TOWARDS tourneys.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Well well well, looks like part of this idea is actually happening.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Warrior are supposed to be the masters of weapons and combat. We have by far the most weapons available to us. And our profession mechanic is pretty simple at the moment. A third weapon slot would be nice. Then I could roll out with offensive/defensive/ranged set.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Ap points are too easy to get up to 5k. Once you’ve got the majority of all the easy achives out there then it becomes more interesting.
Last time I checked I think the top AP holders were 8k. I vote 10k if at all. Howver, As soon as you add vAlue to them you will get people who find away to abuse the system.
But i’m gonna put it out there that I don’t think the current sstem needs fixing. These aren’t suppose to be guarenteed. Took me some tries a he mystic toilet to get mine, as well as other guildies, and have even seen a few drop to others. But that is just my opinion
Originally I thought the same thing. But once I started looking into it I thought 10K was to steep.
Even for hardcore players it will take 2-4 months to get your first 5K. After that it slows down a lot and you rely mostly on dailies/monthlies/special events. The game has now been out for 9 months and no one has hit 10K. So yeah, after the initial rush, it slows down a lot.
Secondly, if you have 3K APs you have more APs than 90% of the community. So that tells us that even fewer folks have 5K.
So by the time you actually hit 10K, you should be able to get a second precursor IMO.

Critical Impact [Crit]
Make them 5K points a pop. Done deal.
- You are already working on turning APs into a currency.
- You are NOT working on the scavy hunt, so that will not be any time soon.
- They will still be rare bc so few people have 5K points (5% of the community)
- This will help balance out the currently overpriced precursors.
- It’s time gated content (which you love).
- Players can still keep playing the way the like.
I just hate the fact that I play this game a lot, have everything else I need, have mastered most areas of the game, have over 6K APs, GW1 elite titles, and still can’t get a legendary bc of the MF bs and/or not having 700 gold to drop on a precursor.

And to let it become whoever has more alts gets more chests? lol.
It’s like that anyway, a lot of people have multiple 80s above level 10 in fractals that they use to get the daily reward, i’m one of them, but after a point, you stop doing them because there’s no incentive to do fractals other than skins, and even then, those are 20+ fractals, so what’s the problem? If people want to farm fractals on alts for chests, let them, it doesn’t affect you in any way.
IIRC, FotM daily is account based. You get one per day, no matter how many lvl 80 alts you run through.
I agree with OP though. If dailies are account based, then make lvl’ing account based. If lvl’ing stays toon based, then for the love of kittens make dailie FotM chests toon based!
Critical Impact [Crit]
Can some explain to me the mechanic of Old Tom in FotM and the proper way to go about defeating him? Thanks in advance.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Hey guys, I’m looking for a large PvE (PvX) guild on Tarnished Coast that does:
Dungeons
FotM
Guild Missions
World Events
Has a decent amount of players repping 24/7
Aren’t full of themselves.
Thanks!
Let me know if you are in one, or know of one. Cool guild name is a plus.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Bump so people can find it.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Oh please!
This is not to balance a class mechanic. REVEALED was meant to balance the class mechanic. TRAPS are for stealthed ZERGS. Come on people.
Critical Impact [Crit]
Cool!
Although I thought anet took panda stuff out of the game bc pandas are an endangered species and wanting to be sensitive to asian cultures. Maybe that’s why the NPC was removed? Although it looks like a gem store item had been drafted out as well.
And what’s that about dragon fireworks??? I’d think those would be exclusive for the Dragon Festival, which is a Cantha tradition….
Critical Impact [Crit]
Yesterday when Southsun went live, TC had commanders at all of the samples and events so ppl could quickly find stuff. It was great!

Wow. A lot of great comments and feedback. At first I was kind of offended you all didn’t agree with me, but there is in fact a lot of truth in what y’all are saying.
Here is how this thought is evolving for me:
As previously stated, I’m a casual player with hardcore goals. And the only reason I feel compelled to keep up with dailies is because anet has tied hardcore rewards to them.
You guys are saying that dailies give casuals something to focus on, and help spread out the population more evenly through out the week, and in certain areas. BUT anet has tied hardcore rewards to them (ascended items, minis, EL tonics etc), causing folks in my position to feel required to get on every day.
Typically when I do log on, I just feel like doing one thing or another. Like a day of farming CoF, or a day of doing FotM, or whatever. But the current DR system penalizes me for doing this. So it’s not just dailies, its the fact that everything in the game rewards you for doing it only once per day, no more and no less.
So it’s like I have to log on every day, and do a little of everything, instead of just a lot of one thing.
And I think this mindset, in the long hall, will hurt the player base (or at least me). Because it will either wear you ragged from logging in every day for tedious game play, or you will log in occasionally, doing what you want, but receive far fewer rewards for it.
Here is an example of just this past week: Never before had I wanted the shiny FotM back capacitor piece. But then it hit me, I had to have it. I was so giddy about earning one. So excited. I felt like running a FotM marathon. But I soon realized there was little point to running more than one fractal a day, because you get less rewards. So my marathon joy was crushed, and now I have the chore of doing one fractal per day for a month.
So I get the need for an MMO to have dailies and such, but do they really need to penalize players for doing what they love more than once a day on the days they can log in?
Critical Impact [Crit]
I’m against it as I think it would hurt the game in the long term.
There’s a reason they want you to log in every day, it makes you join the rest of the community and keeps the game populated. There are a lot of players who would complete the achievements in a day, then not log in for the rest of the week. They’d go to another game to get their ‘sense of accomplishment’. For a few weeks they might log in and keep doing their ‘required’ content to keep up with everyone else. Then the other game they’re playing to feel satisfied will be more appealing to them and they’ll stop logging in altogether.
If you log in once a day and you complete a handful of quests you’re likely meeting other players along the way, selling things or buying things on the broker and you’re exposed to whatever it is they’re selling in the gem store. They shouldn’t be encouraging players to log in less often.
At the end of the day, the rewards are not required by players to achieve anything in the game. They’re purely cosmetic – designed to reward players that contribute to the community. Logging in once a week shouldn’t be rewarded in the same way logging in once a day is – you’re not contributing as much to the community. That’s just my opinion.
Sure, and I’d agree with that to a degree. And for those reason I doubt Anet would ever get rid of dailies. Dailies were originally designed to give players a daily perk for logging in and doing whatever they do. But more and more emphasis has been put on dailies (and daily meta events, daily dungeon DR, daily FotM chest etc) and I think the emphasis either needs to be scaled back, or more flexability added to attaining the rewards.
And for the record, pre launch devs said in a video that they were designing gw2 as a casual game so ppl could put it down, go play other games and come back. And that they themselves enjoyed doing this and playing other games. But IMO the strong emphasis on dailies can really screw you if you don’t log in daily.
Critical Impact [Crit]
I would like a weekly in addition to the daily and monthly.
The goal is to get rid of dailies completely. Dailies and daily DR need to go bc they inadvertently turn the game into a chore and greatly penalize ppl that can’t log in everyday. If you miss a day, you can’t catch up bc you hit DR for doing something more than once on the days that you can play.
You don’t have to do dailies.
I don’t care to get rid of them. I like my karma jugs since I can turn it into gold eventually.
If you think it is necessary to do dailies, you are looking at it the wrong way. They are not required for anything, only satisify what you want, not need.
I’ve missed plenty of dailies and I really want some of the ascended stuff obtained but I’m not going to sweat it or ask for a game change to suit my life schedule.
I like them anyway. They don’t take long, maybe about 30 minutes typically, and I like little objectives like that to accomplish. Taking that away from me is not something I care for as I like having those mini objectives on a daily basis for me to complete and see how fast I can get them done.
Changing it to a weekly would take that away from me so no thanks.
Add in a weekly. You get what you want, a weekly, and I get to keep my daily and get somethign else to set personal goals for. Weekly would also help those with alts, I’ve seen them upset that it takes too long to get laurels for all their characters.
I understand some people don’t have beef with it as it is. But Anet pitched gw2 for casuals and the current system is not casual and very restrictive. I’ve already addressed your concerns in comments but ill quickly recap: either take laurels out of the daily and put them somewhere else or thread the dailies together so you can still complete 7 per week, but at any time during the week. I don’t see it as an either/or, but a both/and. Daily goals plus flexibility.
