6 Levels for Maxing Non Ascended Crafts

in Crafting

Posted by: Beorn Saxon.4762

Beorn Saxon.4762

This is due to crafting levels eventually going to 500. Give it time it will adjust itself so that you can craft to 80 again. When all professions are at 500.

I’m well aware that in the future this will happen. But the XP should not have been nerfed now. Anet did not warn us of this happening to non ascended crafts being affected. We also have no ETA on when the other crafts will bump up to 500. It could be several months. That’s a long time to wait to be able to get 10 lvls again, and it will cost a small fortune as well.

6 Levels for Maxing Non Ascended Crafts

in Crafting

Posted by: Beorn Saxon.4762

Beorn Saxon.4762

I just made a new toon, popped my ‘bump to lvl 20 scroll’ and then maxed cooking to get my guy up to lvl 30…the only thing is that he only hit lvl 26!

I know they adjusted XP for the ascended crafts so that you have to hit 500 to get the full 10 lvls, but that should not have affected the crafts that still only have 400 lvls. Was this intentional, a bug, poor QA or what?

I’m really sad about this.

Let's Hear Your Guild Hall Ideas!

Beorn Saxon.4762

I’ll go first!

  1. Showing off armor and checking out others. Having one place to do all of my non combat errands (bank, TP, MF, crafting).
  2. Two fold – Guilds will have more face time, but less ppl would be in DR and LA.
  3. They would function like home instances, taking up one spot on the map, tailored to the guild that enters. I would put them in LA and have tons of themes that the guild could purchase. I would have a snarky asura there selling guild hall themed spaces inside of his fancy machine accessed via his asura gate portal. I’d also have a ‘go to guild hall’ button in the UI somewhere.
  4. All crafting stations, TP, Bank, Laurel vendors, Commendation vendors, Guild vendors, a vendor that could store your town clothes. All unlocked via merits.
  5. I would potential add a pvp mechanic to guild halls. If any guild member owns a private pvp server, then there should be a pvp UI that shows them and allows guild members to access them w/o going through the mists.

It’s been a year and I’m finally starting to get my ‘guild hall itch’! So let’s get the creative juices flowing and hear some ideas.

~ IIRC, Guild Halls appear to be non priority and currently on the back burner for Anet. Perhaps player outcries and ideas will move G.H.s forward in the ETA queue ~

Let’s keep this organized for clarity.

  1. Purpose: What’s the purpose, what makes them enjoyable?
  2. Side affects: How will this impact the community?
  3. Where, How, What: Where would they be, how would you get there, looks?
  4. Unlocks: What type of perks would they have, how would you attain them?
  5. Other: Any special mechanics or ideas?

Unrealistic WvW achievements

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Beorn Saxon.4762

From https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-wars-2-the-first-year/:
More than 3,500,000 games sold
23,470,844 Caravans Destroyed

Head over to the wiki at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World_vs_World_%28achievements%29:
Yakslapper – Kill 1,000,000 enemy supply caravans.

So, at best, 23 out of the 3.5 million could possibly have this achievement

The WvW team has already addressed this, stating WvW achievements are going to be adjusted to be more on target with achievements in other areas of the game. Not this patch, but soon. This year I believe.

Easy Bday Present Fix

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Beorn Saxon.4762

Beorn Saxon.4762

So, a lot of GW1 vets and alt-o-holics are crying foul because gifts either 1) don’t meet their expectation or 2) are useless/repetitive.

Others don’t seem to mind, stating free stuff is always great, no matter it’s utility.

No matter which side you are on though, we all agree that we love the IDEA of bday gifts. And so does Anet as they happily brought back this GW1 tradition. I bought GW2 planning on playing it for many years, so I’m looking forward to seeing how bday gifts evolve in the future.

Now don’t hear me wrong, I love bday gifts and how anet honors players with free stuff, both content and gifts. But these gifts do seem like they could have been slightly improved, avoiding much of the drama they have caused.

  1. Scrolls could have inherently granted 20 skill points if your character is already over lvl 20.
  2. Anet just launched a new mini pet series. The gifts could have either contained 1 mini from that set – or – Jennah could have been mystic forgable.

That’s it, problems solved. And these fixes could still be implemented, so here’s hoping

Now, debating on what type of content gifts could have/should have had is another topic. But as far as what we were given, I think these two adjustments would have made the world of a difference.

Save Blue Meteorlogicus! Do not want Purple

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I don’t have the Meteorologicus, nor do I care about it, and in fact I love the color purple. But coincidentally I had previously pondered this exact scenario and agree with the OP, changing a legendary’s color scheme is not fair to those that have worked so hard for them.

Legendarys, by nature, are for aethetic value, and people put a lot of thought and effort into designing how their toon will look.

However, people have asked anet to improve legendary’s that lacked luster, and that puts them into a hard spot. Any improvement will change the legendary, making it more desirable for some, and less for others.

"One Legacy Armor"?

Doesn’t change the fact that HoM weapons are already finding their way into the rest of the game.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lord_Taeres%27s_Shadow

That is not a HOM skin. Do you have a REAL example?

Bro, read that page, the notes. That is a NEW skin just added you get from champs. IT IS THE SAME MODEL AS THE EXCLUSIVE HOM FELLBLADE.

Everyone with HoM realized this as soon as anet made the blog post about new champ loot. This skin was featured on the blog post and everyone cried foul. So sad.

It uses the same model, it is NOT the same skin. Apples and oranges. Try again.

Hah, apples and oranges you say? Either way, It stinks when anet takes what is supposed to be exclusive skins > makes them cooler and offers to everyone, making the old exclusive ones out dated. Get over yourself man.

Why is it outdated? It’s still limited, and the new one looking “cooler” is a matter of opinion. IMHO, it looks god awful. The HOM version skin is still the rarest version so your argument is still null.

It shouldn’t be happening at all, to any degree in any manner. It cheapens the achievements that GW1 players worked for.

I think it’s fantastic that they’re adding more content and perks to entice people to buy the game. I really want more players to join. What I don’t understand is why companies only cater to people that don’t own it yet, and do nothing for the people that have had it and supported it.

Anet has sent out free minis and kites to supporters over this past year. We also have partaken in one time events that new players will never get to see. (The quality of those events can be debated, but none the less, free content for long term players).

In no part of my post did I whine at all. I made a valid argument and supported it.
If someone supports your product ahead of time with a preorder, they get rewarded (see ‘preorder bonus’s’). Therefore, if someone supports your product for an EXTENDED period of time, they ALSO should be rewarded. Why should a brand new player who has done absolutely nothing but open up their wallet pay the exact same price as what the digital collectors paid at launch and get all the same stuff PLUS MORE? And for people like me, who bought the ultimate edition, why should we receive LESS than a new player, even though we’ve supported the game longer? If someone buys it now, they get everything I have plus some, for the same price I paid a year ago. Explain how that’s fair to me.

If you really think these perks have more value than the last year of game play then you should:

  1. delete all of your characters
  2. contact support and get a game refund
  3. re purchase the game to get said perks

So to be fare in your opinion, anet should give all achivement points, armor skins, weapons skins from all previous living story updates to new players since they were not here to get them? You want anet to give all things to all players equally across the board?

They seem to offer these perks during/after free trial weekends to help encourage sales.

Wizards hat had been free from everyone in Gemstore. Only needed to go on and take it.

Hmm, anyway, Got it. Only for new customers, ok then. Volkon, I’ve didn’t understand what I’ve got they don’t, but its not anything that I really care.

IIRC, originally it was only for new customers, but ppl on the forums whined, so anet made it a free gemstore item. This time around they are including something that current players can already get.

That’s my theory at least. Either way, there should have been some sort of ingame way of tracking it for you.

To fully partake in the excitement surrounding the Queen’s Jubilee, I decided to take my son into the big city and surrounding country side. Here are a few photos from our recent trip!

We started the day out by swinging by one of those hot air balloon stations. As you can imagine, steam ogres are not to fond of heights, so we opted to walk instead of fly to Divinities Reach, but we did pick up a rather tasteful souvenir!

Once in town, I was able to pull some strings and actually introduce nugget to QUEEN JENNAH herself. You should have seen his little nuts and bolts overloading with excitement.

After a fun filled day we took the long walk home, flying kites on the country side and even swinging by the Obsidian Sanctum for nugget’s first jumping puzzle. He did so well. I am beyond proud of him.

With much oil,

Has anyone completed 13/13 maps, what are we missing?

What if JPs Dropped Champ Loot

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Beorn Saxon.4762

Beorn Saxon.4762

Pros:
- Adds longevity to JPs
- JPs are already fun (for some), now they are rewarding
- Don’t have hop on the ‘champ train’ farm
- equally as challenging, if not more so, than killing a champ

Cons:
- Mesmer would port people to the end

I honestly love JPs, but after getting the JP achievements I never returned to them. Anet put a lot of work into them and I’d love to go back to them if they were rewarding. Yes, some players would bi-pass the JP by getting a port, but even then, I don’t see farming JPs to be any faster than farming champs, so I don’t think it would be game breaking. It would just be more diversity to get rewarded for one of the fun areas of the game. They could even add in new weapon skins that fall from JPs only!

TL;DR – JPs are fun, but never revisited after the achievement. Give them good loot. Farming them would still take longer and be more challenging than farming champs, so why not?

Greatsword; Mesmer vs Guardian

1) MY first pick would be Warrior, he is the best GS wielder in the game.

2) Between just guardian and mesmer it’s a tough choice because I don’t use a GS on either of them. My guardian uses hammer for DPS in all areas of the game (pve/pvp/wvw/dungeons) and my Mesmer uses a staff.

In the end I would probably pick Mesmer. I really love my hammer guardian, so I would train myself to just be a GS mesmer. Mesmers with sunrise are way more rare in the game and having 3 clones with sunrise would be big pimpin.

Tam is correct, Anet did not want certain race/profession combos to be OP so they are weaker than there profession elite countparts.

They are mostly for lore and PvE. I think they are fun. My charr loves his charzooka, and my asura loves his golem robot And for general PvE my guardian has more use for Hounds of Balthazar than a Tome.
