Obvious troll is obvious.
Oblivious player is oblivious.
I just ran world 1 today to get the 500 baubles for the world 2 shop (since I was broke the first time I got there). Spent an extra hour exploring, since I didn’t get the completionist achievements in April. Exploring is best done solo anyways.

These are good points, Coldin. Those two examples do teach you through death. The pool possibly. (Many people can tell to stay away since they recognize the deadly piranha in it) and the Darts certainly. The reason I opted for instant death with the darts is because I wanted absolute consistency that they are kill planes because they are fundamental as blockers further in the level.
This is an expensive lesson. The first death is random, unexpected. The second death is confirming what killed you. The third death is trying to see if you can dodge through it. The fourth death is the next door, after carefully circumventing the first door, because you still haven’t identified the difference between safe and trapped doors. That’s almost an entire continue coin in 60 seconds, lost not due to skill, but to ignorance. You made it into a toll.

I finished through 2-3, it probably took 4 hours. I found the content to be impossible and my party carried me.
In April I was annoyed that the shops stopped selling monkey lives, or hearts. I now see why. You had no intention of making use of those mechanics after world one. Every fall is fatal, and every trap is fatal, and the river is fatal. I quickly used up my free coins, last spring’s free coins, and all the coins I’d won.
A fundamental problem in ALL jumping puzzles is that when you jump up, your camera tends to move down, so now you don’t know when you landed, or where you landed, or where you have to jump next. This is even worse now because time spent looking around after a jump counts against timed platforms like geysers.
Geysers in still water are hard. The geysers in the river are impossible. A mistake there sends you all the way past the previous checkpoint and you die. I never got half way.
I never did the log waterfall, I fell down and I couldn’t get back to the top.
I never did the fish room.
I used up entire continue coins on the exact same long jump.
I never made it to the top of the trap tower.
I spent a lot of time in Moto’s death room. And when I continued without a coin, I only had 2 lives, so now I’m spending over twice as much time in the death room.
I finally got to the end, and didn’t have any baubles to spend.
It was hard to get a party for this (on the first day!) This party only had 3 people. I don’t expect to be able to get another one.
Simply tracking which maps are we missing would be tremendous! Like tracking which goggles we used/didn’t use, tracking which dungeon paths we did/didn’t do and a whole plethora of similar achievements, past and future.
I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but, wow. This is actually something Blizzard got right. I now realize I was taking their achievement tracking for granted.
I’d just like to point out that a player’s first bag slot expansion now costs 23 gold. That’s a lot of work even for a level 80. At level 20, it’s basically pay to play, or playing games with bank alts.
Those that kitten about not being able to keep track…. just make a word document…. duh,i did that with dungeons too… how DARE Anet make us think for ourselves
I have made such a list. It has 13 names on it. I have 12/13. Which one am I missing?
The answer is it depends on how many people are with you….if there’s less than 4 then they will resurrect enough to double your fighting time. More than 4 and they’ll die too fast, unless everybody is concentrating on a veteran or champ.
This is a truly, truly, poorly, designed encounter. Always killed when the queen spawns, never get back in time to get credit. Got the achievement yesterday in an overflow. Never going back.
P.S. Great job having all the flame throwers spawn 3 respawning layers deep in karka.
I don’t understand, supposedly this was fixed months ago…I went and got the vista in mid February with no problem.

Fixed a bug that prevented players from using the cattlepult if a cow wandered too far away, blocking the betting minigame.
A lot of the changes (basically more frequent flipping) means that keeps may not have a waypoint. It used to be a given that every keep had a waypoint. Now, not so much. I don’t know why, but I assume it’s because the keeps / camps are flipping more often and there isn’t the the time/supply/gold to keep re-upgrading. So remarks about using waypoints as early warning or transport aren’t as applicable as you think (in my opinion).
Look. 30 seconds + travel time from citadel to East Keep EXCEEDS the typical rush attack time. So even if you have a sentry, you can’t bring reinforcements in before the gate falls. Sentries are actually irrelevant. And even if the reinforcements come (promptly! which they won’t), they still have to get through the portal. If the enemy zerg is at the north gate, that’s a problem. As a focus ele, I can abuse swiftness and stoneskin to usually get inside if they aren’t on the stairs. Most classes can’t get in at all.
The only way to hold the outer keep is to already have siege built with AC specialists already on the gate(s). A lot of people are saying that yes, you should station people 24/7. I don’t know what it’s like in T1-2, but in T3 and below you may be facing an enemy that can’t field a zerg to all 4 zones, or even 1 zone. What actually happens is you sit in a keep/tower defending against an enemy who MIGHT. NOT. EVEN. BE. ON. THE. MAP. For hours at a time. Or, maybe they just pulled everybody from all 4 zones to make 40 man zerg to crush everything. Somebody above said the thought of imminent attack is exciting. It’s not exciting, in the tiers I play, because most of the time, THERES NO KITTEN PEOPLE ON THE MAP. Or maybe there’s a 40 man zerg coming your way.
This is really the last straw. I’m going to wait and see how this patch turns out, and until then, I’m playing Planetside 2. At least I can find a fight on demand, there.
Edit: add signature.

Maybe if JP gave only siege (and continue coins) and not badges or blue/greens it would end PVErs in the JP and make badges a proper currency for gear.
There’s a word for this strategy. It’s called garrisoning. The army does this all the time. People in the garrison receive a small stipend, and the threat of up to life imprisonment if they don’t.
I’m not in the army, I’m not getting paid, and we don’t have enough people to watch that map and relieve people every 20 minutes (which would be fair). WvW is dead. It’ll just be PvD against paper gates for karma now. (and I don’t need karma)
If you want to destroy blobs:
- Remove teleports on WvW Maps.
- Death => 20sec timer => spawn at basecamp
- 1 min delay between 2 WvW maps (= on EB, if you want to go on your home map, there is a one minute timer)
The logical response to this brilliant suggestion is to group up as many people as possible in one place to avoid death.
News from the front lines
We built them all.
All glory to Great Lord Flame Ram.
I see you guys are back to worshipping your flame ram again. And isnt there a limit on how many siege you can put down in one place?
It’s 99 rams per team per borderland. We’ve hit it before.
I went in, watched the cutscene, talked to Rytlock first, then the Norn guy, got an achievement point. No exit. Looked at the spear, the pitcher and talked to the aide de camp, no exit. Quit to login screen, did the replay, still no exit.
It’s stupid that Necros can completely negate fall damage.
In that case it’s stupid that Ele’s can avoid any damage with invulnerability, or move 2400 range near instantly, or heal from almost 0 to full also near instantly while Necro can’t do anything like that.
Man, if only invulnerability worked for fall damage. I feel even worse when all the other classes run past my corpse.
My whole point is that the attacking team should have to coordinate and organize to get a foothold in a BL. Why are we dumbing down WvW with this spammable event? WvW should encourage and reward effort…as it stands right now they are basically giving a tower away for free to an attacking team which is really really lame.
You’ve either just started playing or you’ve never played on a low pop / demoralized server. It’s one thing to get organized and take 1 camp and 1 tower. People do this. And after you’ve taken that tower, what do you do? You have to LEAVE to take something else, or to pressure another location. That camp you took? It was already gone before you got the door down. That tower? Gone as soon as you leave it. Don’t leave the tower? The dominant team shows up in such numbers that they can just autoattack the door down. Siege it up? All spent the last 20 times you took the tower this week. Send out squads out into the map to force the defenders to actually defend? Congrats, you just LEFT THE TOWER. Back to the beginning.
Before breakouts, there was literally no reason to return to the all-green borderlands after Friday. It was nothing but a massive time, gold, and skill point sink. And green had no reason to stay and defend, and left to crush the other two borderlands. And by Sunday, Green was very bored. And so was Blue and Red.
Its just dumb that a server can get their Breakout when they outnumber the defending server. This morning I was even outmanned when they send a breakout to a paper tower.
….nobody wants to spend their entire day defending against a server that just spams breakout after breakout….
In these situations, is it not the case that your server owns all the towers?
you don’t want to spend the “entire day” defending … once you already own everything? what else is there left to do?
This person has it right. I can’t speak for the original poster, but in the games I’ve seen, the winning server abandons their borderland if there’s no pressure. I’ve participated in many miserable breakouts where we were swarmed by defenders pulled from other borderlands to avenge the MORTAL INSULT of trying to un-green a tower. We didn’t put down our own siege and waited for Siegerazer because the borderland is empty, right?
If breakouts are keeping you from meta-zerging the other two borderlands with your home borderland crew, it’s doing it’s job. Don’t want to defend breakouts? Fine, just wait a bit, there will be trebs up hitting Bay soon enough.
Learn to use stability.
I don’t believe any classes have spammable Stability skills. Most are on long cooldowns, like Armor of Earth (90s) for Elementalists, with a short duration (6s), barely long enough to use a couple of skills, and then you’re out for the next 84s based on your logic.
Because Temporal Curtain works on sides of walls, you don’t usually see it until you are pulled, which is too late to use Stability, even if you could react that fast.
Stability is not the answer to OP’s problem. But I’m sure you realize this and are just trolling.
Since you play on a lower tier server it’s obvious that you are inexperienced with stability and its related traits.
Again, learn to use stability. Maybe you should try reading the wiki article on stability before you accuse others of trolling.
Here you go: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stability
Really. Did you even read the page you are linking? Your response is that I should basically delete everything that makes my character mine, and instead go grandmaster in earth, losing everything I got by going grandmaster in lightning, to obtain cheap and frequent stability?
I hit an Ori node in the EB JP on Maguuma and got ori from it. Or at least, I’m pretty sure I did. Regular merchant-bought ori pick.
I keep Glyph of Renewal on my cast bar for WvW. It’s got a 4.5 second cast time, its interrupted by dodge, and limited range. If I try to use it in PvE, usually the target is dead first, or rezzed the normal way first, or I have to dodge, or move away.
Nice way to work on the Healer daily though.
The tool tip that popped up when you clicked on your daily list clearly said dailies and monthlies may be completed by doing a subset of the quests. Obviously not this month.
I don’t like babysitting walls either, but it’s the only way for a weak opponent to resist unkillable trebs. It’s unreasonable to require the invader to immediately take a fortified keep/garrison right after taking the tower/keep (perhaps right after a breakout, no less), just to stop the triple treb fire that commenced seconds after the lord was downed.
Mag guild tag STRM you have been reported. You were exploiting the bugged invuln spot in SW supply on DB BL. Either take your lickings or get off our map… That stupid fight lasted too long and when your chips were down you just went to your invuln spot where you could still do damage and then get back up there if we were pushing. This is beyond unacceptable.
I’d love it if just one person would link just one dev post saying it’s it bug, or it’s an exploit, or that they’re going to plant a giant rock on that spot in March, or that a single person has ever been disciplined for standing there. What’d you report them for, scamming?
And I’m FITE not STRM, so don’t even.

The ram gods have spoken. Death to Magumma BL!
We really don’t get what you guys are doing. You’re dropping flame rams EVERYWHERE but you’re not BUILDING ANY OF THEM.
From the Maguuma side of things, I think it’s clear that Maguuma is trying to throw the match. Because the cure for 5 solid weeks of 1-sided matches is more 1-sided matches. Because Maguuma borderlands with the home advantage is the only borderlands worth playing. Being forced into any of the other 3 servers is unacceptable and we won’t stop throwing matches until our home borderlands is permanently under the pop cap.
that’s the same bunny from the harpy fractal level!
No, this is, in fact, the final boss of the Great Critter Hunt in beta weekend 1, the Legendary Rabbit. The player recording this had quite better frame rate than I did.
I think this is a good matchup so far, we’re losing, but very gradually. Maybe the early hours were different, or you guys were on the wrong borderlands. I started 5 hours after reset, and over on DBBL (no queue) outmanned buff was popping on and off for hours, while the PPT was bouncing between 175 and 280. Then head over to FA for multi-hour defense on East keep. It exhausting, pounding work but it sure beats my 3 week PvE vacation.
New Maguuma anti-immigration Eternal Battlegrounds technique. No Yak’s Bend allowed.
Spawn camping, Maguuma? Really? That’s where we’re at?
This has happened many, many times to me, always after getting hit by a cata shot….though just once it was after a minotaur charge! /dance breaks it.
Two players from IMP just stole 2 of our golems and suicided them against NE tower in Blue borderlands to get a POI. I want all Maguuma commanders to treat Dawn’s Eyrie as off limits this week. Let that POI sit behind fortified walls.
Anet why do you keep screwing over your players with a drop-based crafting system that intentionally doesn’t drop the mats? Four months and I still don’t have enough claws and teeth to level my tailoring. I could have FINALLY made it to silk tier, and maybe finally make something that’s not autovendored, with snowflakes but all you give me are useless giant gifts. I’m here in Gendarran Fields killing level 20 mobs and getting giant, giant, giant. Use the TP? I want to earn my ranks. AND YOU WON’T LET ME. I need unique snowflakes, not pristine snowflakes, and certainly not FLAWLESS snowflakes. Tixx, if you can find a group, takes 10 times longer. Trading in socks? 10 times longer. I’m in a low zone, just give me gift I’m there for.
He’s right. I remember seeing them when I did Fractals for the monthly. Either they were removed, or I was actually looking at my sell window. Sorry all.
People, chill out. There’s a cog vendor in the Fractals. Unless those are identical looking but different cogs. I haven’t actually bought any.
Edit: no there aren’t.
