Just curious, what world do you play for? I’m looking at the current breakdown of votes by world right now, and nearly every world has voted in favor of World Linking. There are a few that are 50/50, and one that is against it.

Who would have thought that the polls would show that the larger pop servers are enjoying the influx of bodies to assist in their Blob Fests, while not showing how much the low pop servers hate it.

Do you truly believe the 2 answer poll that does not allow for any stipulations on what we do and don’t like about the server linkings would truly represent a fair vote?

Larger servers vs smaller… I’m surprised it’s only at 75%

Why could my answer not have included that hey yeah, I would be ok with server linkings if they allowed the lower tier servers to continue to enjoy the WvW playstyle we are accustomed to by linking us with a medium or low pop server. I would enjoy linking if the top 2 tiers were left alone.

But I am stuck with do i like Linking or Not. So my choice was no. Being linked with BG (great group of people by the way) and running against other Blob servers is not fun for many of us who are accustomed to fun closely matched battles with the servers who are of similar size.

But polling us is still going to show Yes greater than No as the Host servers house greater numbers by far.

so your all for server linking just put all the low tier servers together and leave the big ones alone that’s something I can agree with

however you have to remember this is just the first step of many be patient and don’t get frustrated over the first few weeks of something new this is just a precursor to what anet it trying to do

NA WvW players voted on our server and it seems like most are in favor of getting rid of it unlekittenanges. Everyone seams to like the system overall but not the current setup or why T1 servers even got paired. Nobody likes a 2 hour queue only to lag or crash and have to wait again. Most people see queues over 30 and empty maps everywhere else and will just log off and play another game or an alt account on a different server so they can at least play the game.

I can see the parring if you mix some Aussie’s with NA to get rid of the Down time for WvW to prevent night capping but other than that I agree the ques shouldn’t be this bad for higher tiers but that can be fixed with a pop cap increase

No it really is, when BP was in T7 and T8, it was a ghost town. It was boring and most of what I fought was doors. So yeah, I’ve been to T8, I’ve been to every tier in fact.

its all about teamwork with more people added to your server and your enemy server tactics must change I used to be from IOJ we lost about every match but we adapted our tactics instead of fighting in one big zerg we spread out into 6 smaller groups and attacked 6 towers at once we focused Point per tick and were able to win matches with just doing that eventually the enemy had to reorganize themselves so then they just focused on small ops warfare which was great but I transferred from a lower tier to a higher one for the zerging experience alongside the small ops

what I’m trying to say is expand your view on the situation there are a lot of positives you are missing out because your only focusing on the one negative that you might yourself be wrong about

T8 was about strategy, as my server was outnumbered most of the time (ET), but we worked our way to almost going to T7 with lower numbers. And it was never a ghost town, there were always people on the map.

As for the small ops quote, that would be great, but it doesn’t work where we are at now. You can’t step go outside and start taking camps as a small group without either running into a group of enemies or friends. If you liked taking camps alone your lucky if you can even do that without running into someone else. God forbid you want to challenge yourself and take a tower or a keep with a low number of players.

And frankly if they sent us back to T8 with the alpines, I’m sure populations would be better than when we had the DBL’s.

that’s the Whole point of WvW sorry but that’s just how the game is if you leave your spawn your going to run into enemy’s and as for enemy encounters as small ops that’s always going to happen if your thinking about having a small Pug group run around as roamers and capping stuff then you need to organize them a bit more most servers use TS id recommend recruiting everyone communication is Key

which goes back to my original response wvw was made for guilds and people who work together A SPLIT SECOND DELAY can cost you a tower if your not carful in higher Tiers just the same on lower tiers if your capping a tower and you have people taking 2 mins to build siege to bring down a wall then of course your going to lose you have to be organized from the start and plan accordingly

if your a single roamer then why not try to group together with others to take a camp or two to support the rest of your team its easier to move in a group and fight in a group than it is to be a single guy soloing with the boost in population it should be 10x easier than before to find others to help even in lower tiers

So basically you liked to fight doors and now you can’t do that because people will come stop you.

I’m sorry but 75% like it (including myself) for a reason, because you’re the minority that likes to fight against doors only and just ktrain around mindlessly with no fights. You can accomplish ktraining in PvE without running in to enemy players, so there is no need for an empty bottom tier.

People stopped us, I don’t think you stepped in a t8 server. Everyone assumes it’s a ghost town. It’s not. We had our own strategies for defense and offense, and it was a fun time. But we were thrust to the top without even being asked becuase people complained about populations.

Did I mention that we had people TRANSFER to us because they wanted out of the huge blob play style, just to be thrust back into it. Not everyone wants this change.

WvW maps have always been a guild controlled warring map the guilds decide what happens on the maps unless a PUG decides to take leadership of the other pugs which in turn allows for guilds to do there small roaming

nobody forces anyone into a zerg and yes it can be ideal but its not required what most of people in the lower tier servers are complaining about is that now they have a zerg ontop of there small ops which 9/10 people want to join there zerg instead of small ops which should be opened with welcome arms instead of throw to the ground at smaller tiers think of it on a bases of strategy’s if the main army is fighting on the left field then a small ops group and sneak in to the right and cap there Keep because nobody is paying attention

Actually wvw have a background. Google for myst, hall of heroes. Pvp always happens in the myst, even in gw1. The Myst is a liquid place, nothing permanent and nothing real, everything build up from the echos of the reality. And in the middle of the myst, there is the hall of heroes, the waygate between diferent realitys. The myst had 3 entrace, but they are destroyed (as we know) so the asuras started to build portals (fractals, pvp lobby, wvw) and sent troops in the damgerous places. Of course a lot of realms did the same, and soon or later found each other. And what do you do if your well armed company meets a well armed company in a hostile enviroment? You start fight. Every realm thinks the others are attackers, who want to invide.

Mist war is precisely a sport. A fun, a competition. It holds no actual grain, and or such. It could be believed that Mist war was designed by Balthazar himself, and then left it there. Letting itself change over time gradually, transforming the terrains for the competitive combatants to try to take advantage of.

In reality, it’s just Mist. It have no actual lore, no actual link, or any other explanation. Mist is Mist, and it should not be explained, or comprehended as. It’s he force that deny everything we know, and cannot be explained logically without making it sound silly in our heads.

just sayin the lore team could hit wvw a bit with something as you say wvw changes a lot we have gotten new maps related to the wvw experience. and a change of map from the desert to alpine, a lil bit of living story there would of been nice to see as a ever changing mist environment like ya said. -which I know is updates and fixes- but that is usually the only thng for lore we could currently have to work with in wvw

I wouldn’t be against lore as long as its not PvE-like as you mentioned. However, I think there are bigger issues right now that need to be solved and the PvE’ers would probably enjoy the lore team working on that instead.

I agree there are a lot of problems currently but there not going to be fixed anytime soon
I have played since beta and me and my friends have been begging. for all the things that there just now implementing into guild wars 2 now and it took them 4 years to do it

and it’s still in the process of being added to the game.

i was wondering if anet could add a lil background lore to WvW or maybe add a somewhat living season for wvw changes that won’t be PVE content just something to get rid of the mundane grind everyday not saying i don’t enjoy the battles but WvW in a whole could use a little bit of a candy once and awhile

I agree with you that it could be good to have change in WvW..
But what to do ?
The 3 factions way have 1 big issue : there is no diplomacy at all.
I mean you can’t choose your ally or ennemy. This issue is on other mmo like TESO.

This issue mean that you can’t do anything against troll or spy. And this remove a lot of the game… Like alliance, or relation between guild / players to be neutral / ally or ennemy…

And yes we are stuck on the same map, every day… The “living” wvw can at least bring more map, and inter connected map… Then you have more the feeling to “conquer” ennemy territory or defend your home. But to be really interesting you need a lot of map. And probably system when the map is not connected to ally map then you can’t use WP, you loose some bonus…
If you go in ennemy territory you should have penality to not push to far…

I have no idea how to resolve all those issue with the GW2 engine.

But for sure, “living www world” is not mega server like eotm… EOTM is random linking every week. We need to be able to see the same people on our side to learn to play together. Random linking is not good for that.

I think if the devs come up with a good story we could make this happen. Guild Wars lore is pretty rich so they can take many things from it. The Mists also prove a place of possibilities without breaking any lore either.

For me personally, I don’t see anything wrong with rotating factions or players choosing factions to represent either depending on how it’s done. But story first.

I agree with some but not all of your suggestion adding a little bit of story and Lore to wvw would be great it would atleast break some of the mundane fighting and add a little bit of Diversity to the game but I would not like to add PVE content to the game I hope you understand that it would need to be strictly PVP related content

When using Vault from an elevated place to jump down on an enemy it does not damage have been doing this all day and have noticed no damage on my enemies in PVP and WvW matches have not tried PVE content yet but this needs to be fixed

instead of using the forums wouldn’t It be better just to add a ingame survey for each respective area PVE,PVP,WvW for the Polling some people don’t live on the forums and others do, a lot of opinions are left out because most people don’t use the forums and are not able to commit there opinions like others

there are a lot of players who don’t even play the core game as much or just like to troll the forums with wacky opinions that don’t do anything for anyone its either to positive or just plain angry responses to the most ideas for a better game which makes it difficult to sort through. what Anet wants, what the community wants, and what a few forum Dwellers want.

why not just make it like the ellan kiel election thing and if someone wants to vote for a change make it a in game thing instead of a forum based poll and sorting between the ones who play and the ones who don’t play add a token that players have to earn to cast there vote like the election thing id rather see that instead of a constant babble of random content that helps no one not saying that forum posts have not been helpful but seriously there are a lot of good feedback that gets missed in the clutter

this is my opinion if someone has a better idea please share it I just want a better gaming experience for myself and my friends for future content.

It just seems more practical I live overseas in Japan so getting a hard copy might prove difficult for me unless you can buy it online as a digital copy. So I guess my question is will there be a digital copy of HOT expansion or is it going to be just hard copy?

..ok..I just purchased a second copy/acct of gw2 and activated it…all is well…purchased gems through the gem store/ BLT for my new characters…all is well….now I try to exchange gems for gold to spend in the store…and it says “this feature is disabled, pls come back later”….is it me, or something wrong at Anet? Or just a temporary down thing?

last time I checked eula multiaccs where forbiden and permabannable…..

I am going away from GW2 for awhile cause of work/other stuff and I might not get back on for a long time I did all the achievements for WvW S2 so I will get the Tickets but will the Mist Weapon Ticket Vender still be there, or is it only a Temporary Vender after WvW Season 2 is over?

Im from Blackgate most of our Server don’t really care about the 2v1 other then the Bag drop increase, we have had more precursor and ascended chest drops since the 2v1 started

because of the 60-80 man JQ/TC Zerg if most people who play JQ or TC understand your winning the PPT but your losing the actual Zerg fights ive made 200g from heavy bags alone last week, so if someone wants to start insulting that blackgate is crying or someone from blackgate starts complaining about the 2v1 please understand they don’t speak for us and they are just here to troll the forums

Hey everyone,

This is a wording bug not a content issue. The design behind the dungeon tracks was that players would need to run the track multiple times to get the entire set of weapons and armor.

19 – weapons
18 – pieces of armor (6 light, 6 medium, and 6 heavy)

Upon completing a track you will get 3 weapons and 1 piece of armor all your choice including stat combo. Upon running the track multiple times you are able to either save tokens for legendary or use tokens to speed the process up of getting the full weapons/armor set you are working towards.

The fact the text says “set” is a mistake that we are going to update soon. Any other questions just let me know.

Wait, you only get one piece after all those matches?

That just killed my enthusiasm for the new system. Back to wvw and pve for me.

Farmed Balthazar for the backpiece got it the very next day then I started Kryta thinking id get to choose Sovereign weapons skins ya know the ones from the Divinity reach Living story but all I got was Ceremonial weapons which I could of bought off the tradepost for a few silver the only thing that was worth the grind was the Tomes of Knowledge, Clovers and Obsidian shards

other then that Major disappointment as you said earlier Back to WvW and Pve for me

So from what little ive read you guys are complaining about people being rich but Don’t want to raise the TP Tax

My only Solution is to limit the amount of materials you can buy at any given time lets say 1 stack = 250 mats if you limit it to once a day per every daily reset this would limit the so called rich controlling everything by playing the markets because they can only get 1 stack a day they will not have the chance to Hord 15k Iron ingots and sell them for 10s+ when a New PVE Content item releases for it

as for Legendry’s and other armor/wep based items you should be limited to atleast 10 a day of each armor/weapon type per day so if I buy 10 exotic zerker’s armors salavege them then I will have to buy a 10 set of zerker’s that is a different type light/heavy/medium/skin/name ect

just thought this up Raise TP Tax based on the quanity of materials like 35% on 250 mats lol

I like the Idea, I like the plan and I like that its finally getting done, what worries me.
is Anet unkowningly admitting that there losing there playerbase? so to entice players back there going to fix all there Bugs, that people been harping on since start and Merge Server’s because of the Super Low population from people leaving due to PvP Being Dead, Lore that has the intelligent writing of a 10 year old. and not to mention a Huge Separation from it’s GW1 roots of Story and Telling

I may sound a lil Harsh but im not writing this out of anger but rather Concern for the Future of Guild Wars Franchise

Tomes should be available before WvW Tournments so Servers who have players with Low lvl Alts who want to use them in there WvW Guild Zerg battles don’t get a HELL NO!!! from there guild leader for using low lvled alt’s

and as stated earlier Anet makes its Money from Players being lvl 80 and Buying lvl 80 Gear with Gem store Cosmetic’s Probly something that should of been thought of Before WvW season 1

Anyways to add a Spin on this Maybe reward it in WvW Reward Boxes so it might limit the 0 to 80 toon to only WvW players so it Balances with PVE
Rewards of you can only get it in PVE CONTENT like the battle for LA reward Vender’s

I agree with the first, but the rewards for the skins are you suggesting doing it like PvP rewards.? you get a Skin unlocked from opening a PvP box in this case a fractal Box which the skins can be stored in a personal locker or bank? or used at that moment.

My thought was more along the lines of there being an achievement in the Fractal of the Mists achievement tab that demands some difficult task, and once achieved, a box appeared on your screen rewarding the skin, which would then be unlocked for your account.

I think ascended Fractal Armor (with appropriate aesthetics) would be an incredible way to motivate players to play Fractals. Just don’t gate it in time, and focus on having it acquired through playing Fractals rather than grinding stuff or RNG and that’d be swell.

One cool thought I had was to have the skins awarded for completing certain skill-based achievements in high-level fractals. So there might be six different achievements to complete in entirely different fractals that are incredible difficult and have each one reward a piece.

if you want unique Armor skins/ weps skins then wait for next living world release anet is working pretty hard to shove LW content out Fractals don’t need more Skins they need more Rewards based on already current item because there already well in Demand and shoving more stuff out on Fractal’s alone isn’t really a Good option in my opinion we already have enough skins just focus on the other topics releated in this CDI

I also didn’t receive rewards for Killing Watch knights started with red killed it took about 4 mins then moved onto Blue killed that still no drop reward then everyone D/Ced logged back in waited 30 mins and repeated >.>

Did you loot the chest? Did you do damage to the creature or did you arrive late to the event?

Just for reference, you are each talking about the Assault Knights that spawn as part of the entry up to the drilling platform, yes?

I was there at start of Red Watch knight and killed it after Hitting it for 3-6k for 5 mins then moved on to Blue

You did not do enough damage to get credit.

This largely happens when there are large zergs focusing on one mob. You have to compete for loot.

To increase your chances to get loot, get in a full party and do max DPS.

FYI this is not a problem with this LS but for all champs in the game.

Hello I would like to add a bit to this Discussion

As for Fractals I would like to see a PVE explorable area of Fractals but not as a Giant map but more like the past LW events, the Aeitherblade retreat as it is right now. we can only revisit that piece of content as a Small part in the fractal not as a Whole.

I remember when I first played it in the LW It was very cool I liked mai trin she was an epic boss fight but I can only revisit the content in the fractal as a small part what happened to running the entire dungeon and fighting all the bosses it was cut out because it was to long for a normal fractal just like the Molten alliance one.

doesn’t seem right in my book if new players who are interested in the lore and want to experience it can’t because its a 1 time only deal that you have to be logged on that 2 weeks or you lose out on the content.

I would like to revisit all of the Living story dungeon/events as full content that I can replay when I want that way if I miss out on a few months of GW2 for some reason I can just simply go back and play the content in the fractal instead of the you missed 2 weeks oh well can’t do that again.

I believe this would work well.

as for Fractal Rewards I would like to Choose Ascended Armor Boxes for a full set of Ascended armor it takes literally 300+ gold to craft a full set for 1 toon

i chose Cantha as my heritage on the story completed all events and then talk to the Personal story Sister Deborah

it gave me three choices of Dialogue

Charm, Dignity and ferocity

you can choose each choice with unlimited uses and fill up any of the three Bars with just constant spammage, I don’t know if this is a bug or Dev design just thought I’d report it

It is likely true that AoE will never be completely removed from the game, as the game is built with it being a factor. However, there are things we can look into doing to mitigate the importance of AoE in certain situations. Maybe even something we can do specifically for WvW.

We have a lot going on right now, so I’m not sure when we’d be able to get to it, but we can at least start thinking about our options.

You could just Create new Skills that can only be used in WvW
And Armor’s aswell it may cost some Money and time to do this but your not Ruining the Game’s Combat Mechanic’s and making Classes OP in PVE or PvP by Updating 1 thing in WvW. im pretty sure this was an idea tossed around once during the GW2 Beta, but its a good Idea you can’t have 3 different games {SPVP/TPVP} {WvW} and {PVE] run the same combat mechanic’s because there will always been an OP Class or Skill causing other players to have an advantage over the regular community

As for AOE’s I see no problem with them the way they are if your a light class and spam 2 well good just hope that the Heavies don’t push through your lines and Chop your Staff in Half its WvW there aren’t very many things that an AOE can do cept make a red circle which can be dogged by Pressing —> A+A

i think you are a bit testy because people are coming down on your villian hard. please take the time to be introspective about this. no one believes you can fix this story at the very end for 2 reasons. It is incredibly hard to do and violates several rules of good writing and your previous attempts at telling this storry have fallen flat and no one has faith in your ability moving forward. The best i am hoping for is you wrap the scarlet story up and kill her off and we can all forget about her like they did to jar jar.

well there are a few ways they could save the story one being she gets Hacked by Afro samurai being serious here 2 being they add a spoiler for Cantha release at the end of the season and 3 this is the most important Actually have 2 dragons fight each other over LA

But the post you responded to had nothing to do with what he thought about the next release. It was about “The problem with the Scarlet Story is that Anet thinks they’ve made this grand mystery that’s gotten the players talking.” That post had zero to do about the next release but was about how everything up to it hasn’t worked. It’s a valid point because it showed the posters current experiences & how so far all the “tie-ins” have been unsatisfying.

I’ve enjoyed the LS so far. There’s room for me to theory craft on what made Scarlet evil, who the new enemy might be, etc. Sure it would have been better to explain how she made all these alliances possible, but I understand that there’s only so much story space for the writers to use. Too much story would dilute everything, since you sometimes create more questions than answers.

Just realize that most complaints so far are like reading a book only 3/4 of the way through, and assuming how the climax comes in the final few pages. I’m still holding onto hope that Scarlet becomes our ally, and is a permanent NPC going forward. I won’t know until a few months from now.

Some people like JarJar & think he’s great, but many people have great reasons why he’s not. As far as i’ve seen, the player reasons for seeing her as broken make way more sense then her being a good character. Yes, we don’t need to know everything about a story, but for Scarlet it’s just an excuse because she fails to hard. Not knowing exactly how Shiro could generate the Jade Wind was ok, because of the restraint they showed on his abilities, his flavor & style fitting into the world & the intrigue of why he did what he did. for Scarlet’s this splatter of inconsistent & annoying personality, abilities, out of place design, lore bending, stupid dialog & cheap joker ripoffs on a scale that make the whole thing implausible & so far, unnecessary.

As for 3/4 of the way through? really? 95% has been silly, the last 5% is gonna fix that? No.. that’s not reality. If that’s true then I can’t see a valid reason to criticize any story telling at all. Everything is acceptable, there are no standards.

oh and this is the best one of all how she got to the Mists without a working asuran Mist gate

my solution to Overflow is to raise the pop limit from 80 to 120 and instead of making more OF with only 20 players in it combine the different OF after a few mins so that there is max pop during WB events!

that way when a player gets the join another OF icon pop up after a few min’s its not taking him to someplace that has a Lesser population then the one He/She is currently in.

But when does Anet ever read forum and listen to the player base I/E Never unless its once a year CDI or when they do the HA HA HA you think your better because you can come up with good Ideas and because your a player and actually try to enjoy the game and offer criticism im just gonna Delete your post or Ban you from forums

even if they acknowledge a good idea I Quote, Chris Whiteside
that’s an Iffy I can offer the idea but its up to devs to decide on what they want

When fighting the marinate Boss the gate opens and the players rush in there are 8 in one lane and 2 in the next and the rest seem to be pretty even with 6-7 players and this is how I have been losing the LW boss matches its not that we don’t have enough players we have about 23-26 per lane but we still fall short this is just Kitten* great how are we supposed to beat the Kitten thing if we have all Boss lane’s full cept one with only 2 players this is how we are losing and this needs to be fixed

1. there is a way to let support classes get World Exp, and not messing up for Kittens sake!!! you can add a Heal Counter yes as in a little bit of code that counts Skill usage and Healing usage for Support Skills the more the Skills are used and the more the skills Heals Allys, Wxp is added to the counter once filled it gives WXP also to prevent Wxp farming in Zergs all you have to do is add a 30 sec Cooldown for it maybe less if you want

2.as for dolyaks you can add another timer you have to stay with the dolyaks for atleast 30-40 secs to prevent farming

3rd Guardians should Get Wexp for Tanking Damage
4th Warriors should get Wexp for Dealing Damage aside from Wxp Granted from Kills-
5th Necromancers Should Get Wexp for adding condidions
6th Rangers Should get Wexp for Scoring Crits on Enemy Pets/Players yes cooldown aswell
7th Engineer’s Should Gets Wexp for Healing or Damaging Enemy’s/Allys with Turrts/reg weps
8th as For Mesmers this is Tricky id Leave it up to Anet to Decide on this little Cookie,

as with Farming Noobs Add anti Farming Timer Cooldowns as I suggested earlier

There is many many MANY ways you can add Stuff in WvW for support/Events in WvW/WvW BL without Screwing it up just take a min listen to what the GW2 Gaming community wants to See in WvW. me personally id wish that the ascalonian Ghosts Would Flip Sm either at reset or at random times between 20-50 mins and Fight a Super Legendary Boss for epic rewards
Nothing is Better than watching a Server Whose Been Owning you Server on EB for the Past 5 Hours Lose Sm because they were overrun by Ghost Army First they’d have to take it Back second its Free for All and Third Epic Boss fight in SM

another thing they can add in WvW is WvW armors and im not talking about invaders im talking Legendary WvW Armor That you can Craft with WvW Mats that you can get from Towers +5% damage to enemy Guardians or +4% Damage resist against other players it help solve Aoe Zergs and Promote more Diverse Builds for WvW armor/trait Sets.

as with everything about guild wars 2 suggestions its not perfect id like to hear what a dev would say about it other than the usual we will think about it and nothing changes

Im From IOJ

I played against Teq about 3 times in 6 hours
first time I got to 89% second time it was 65% third time it was 60% Kept running out of time for some reason, had all major guilds on my server on there playing. hell even a few Guilds from WvW.

from what we learned from the first time Pugs were running Berserker builds, Can’t Crit a WB LoL.

but other than the Pugs can’t complain much I really liked it, Wish I had an extra 6 mins on Timer not to much to ask can’t really sit and farm with teq, It’s pretty decent challenge now.
