Why cant you guys dodge roll? Steal has a range of 900, 1200 if its traited. Its a one trick pony…why you fall for such things? Why? Whyyyyy?
Because before you realize there’s a thief on you, he pressed his 3 buttons and the game is over. I have a thief main, and I hate thieves in pvp. I don’t pvp with him anymore, as it’s not fun. My second profession is elementalist, and I wish all people would try him for once before they say: thief (insert other op profession) is fine.
Really elementalist only has 1 semi-viable build, and that’s a support bunker spec. Run with your team though because you won’t do any damage, but survival is pretty good (untill it gets nerfed, then you can throw elementalist away). To be honest, I once went “glass cannon” , and I couldn’t get the hp bar of a guardian to move. I died in 2 hits because glass cannon with elementalist is toiletpaper peashooter.
I’ve been trying different builds as well with elementalist, with all weaponsets.
You can indeed only be a support character.
But hey, I guess that’s where Jon Peters wants us. Perhaps he just needs a good punching bag for his warrior.
Argh, I’ve justed logged in with my elementalist and why does staff skill number 5 static field has such a long cast time! It used to be instant, I certainly can’t remember the cast time being that long. Same with windborne speed (n4). Pff this wasn’t even mentioned in the list of nerfs..

I’m taking a break from the game as well, untill ele gets buffed.
Doesn’t matter though, have got a lot of other work I’ve been procrastinating.
It’s good that they do look into balance of all the classes and so on, but why do they only fix bugs that give us an advantage?
Ok, im fine with sinets not firing behind us and all, but how important and gamebreaking was that bug??
What I simply dont get is the fact that they even did nothing against all the skills/boons/conditions not granting the listed duration.
Like 5 seconds of vigor from phoenix instead of 10, healing rain only lasting 4 seconds instead of 9, stability/protection on armor of earth 6 not 8 and so on…
How difficult can it be to change those numbers?
I mean really, I just don’t get it.
It can’t be hard to search in the code for the skill and replace the number with another number. I’m thinking anet is following the same tactic as other mmorpg’s: nerfing classes while making others overpowered, and ignoring bugs. So to let people play other classes and let them pay for expansion slots. I thought better of anet, but I’m doubting, I’ll wait for the next updates to finalize my thoughts.
Unacceptable nerfs.
My biggest disappointment was the glyph of renewal nerf. It was fine how it was. Could rez someone, but has high cooldown and high cast time (and wouldn’t work half of the time). Now it still doesn’t work half of the time, but it’s absolutely useless unless it’s instant cast and has it’s cooldown reduced by half.
Not satisfied with underwater combat nerf. Sure the elite did mediocre damage, unless you spec for power which in that case you’re shooting yourself in the foot. I don’t know about others, but I died fast in whirpool, you suck people in and they can start doing damage.
I won’t play my elementalist like this: in need of bug fixes and in need of buffs, but instead they nerf us without actually mentioning why. So I’m taking a break from the game, I’ll linger these forums waiting for elementalist buffs, but I’m not hoping on it.
Either way, I’ve payed the game and it’s free to play so I guess I can always come back. Shame though, I was actually planning to buy some gems.. Maybe next time.
I liked it the way it was. Otherwise it could take a minute to rez someone in combat, but then only some seconds.
Now it’s complete and utter crap. I do not approve of this change and I will not play my elementalist anymore until it gets buffed. Since I’m only playing elementalist, I will be taking a break from the game.

I play a elementalist in spvp with 21k hp, but during a map swap my hp got lowered to 19k, without me swapping gear or changing runes or changing build. I have this build and set up for some days and it is normally 21k.
However this isn’t the first time this happened to me, and I’ve already reported this on here but I got no answers. Last time I had 18k hp that was lowered to 14k hp, without reason.
I can’t be the only one having this?
I need to know the edges of the aoe skill, so not for me.
Two professions can use the shortbow, just as two can use the longbow.
Honestly, am I the only one who wants a MH sword? It’s cliché, I know, but that’s half the point. I would enjoy a sword-wielding elemental battlemage.
Also, what about the torch? I mean, it’s an off-hand that burns. Surely, elementalists can take advantage of that in some way or another. Like a passive -> active skill similar to Rock Barrier, but for fire and related to burning. This way, a torch elementalist would always have means to burn even when in other attunements. :P

I’m with BishopX on this, I also use it all the time, very usefull!
Also in pvp, mistform and ether renewal lets you run very fast while healing and removing conditions. Heals a nice chunk of hp with regeneration on cantrips.
It says: can be triggered every 10 seconds.
I suggest the trait: The name of the wind.
Lets you call the name of the wind to let you land softly.
This and downed skill number 2 makes the elementalist very special.
I don’t like fast targetting, I move with zsqd (azerty) and my right mouse button. It’s handy to see a circle where the cast is going to land and how wide it’s going to be.
Greetings, when looking around at lvl 80 elementalists, most seem to be having armour with skulls and death. It’s perfect for a necromancer, but don’t ele’s have any armour proper for the class? When I see that skull armour, it makes me want to level my necro because it would fit him better than my ele.

25% base speed from signet DOES NOT, DOES NOT stack with swiftness.
Dodge roll swiftness is lol what 3 seconds.
WHERE did I say they are all stacked?! My thief has nearly perma swiftness, but tons of other tools to cross distance very fast.
Ignorant people read and believe what they want..
Thief followed by elementalist.
25% base speed, 33% speed after dodging (3x), when I steal I gain 33% speed. Then to cover some ground faster than 33% run speed: heartseaker spam outjumps any permanent swiftness. Then you still have the shadowstep and other ports.
No one is outrunning my thief.
If ele had a better 2nd down skill, I would play it.
No, elementalist’s downed state is worst. Necro one is indeed average.
Hmm they are great skills, but other professions are better for exploring. I’m thinking about thief especially, and mesmer.
Throw gunk with 3 death blossoms = pack of mobs death in seconds.
It was an adjustment, not a nerf. A nerf would be to the damage numbers. <—- to clarify for those who didn’t read the OP.
Also, I’m glad they went this route rather than the numbers. Numbers are more difficult to adjust.
The damage IS reduced by 20%, but only at 100-50% life. So it’s a nerf, but I don’t mind, it’s an executer, it should be weak when enemy has high life and hit like a truck with low life.
Have they ever said anythong about adding weapons to the classes in the future?

I am hoping the same as well. We have very few weapon choices as it is now.
A sword offhand would be nice, as well as a club main hand and maybe a sniper rifle.

From one spvp match to the other, my elementalist got his hp reduced from 20k to 14.555k. I didn’t change anything nor did I touch the hero panel. Weird thing is, it happened to my guardian as well. I traited him full hp, but he never got higher than 14.555k.
Anyone else having same problems?
