My thoughts:
Thief: Nice changes, but I would rather have more ways to prevent stealth/teleports in the first placeOh, so we can be completely useless?
Except for troll thieves that do nothing but teleport and stealth, and just annoy me by putting me in combat, you should still feel plently useful.
To post above me: I main gar, and it’s definitely a buff to me
1) what class/gear are you? A lot of advice is build dependant. Anyway, despite what some people say, it is not always optimal to have everyone stack on the commander, and most stacking is done just for organizational purposes. So feel free to range, just make sure you are contributing too.
My thoughts:
Ele: Nice changes to promote more traitlines, with the only real nerf being you cant take both vigor and ele attune for X/d
Engineer: IP and vigor nerf
Guardian: No vigor nerf? Guardian OP
Mesmer: More utility/trait utilty buffs, which are nice but not needed. Mesmer needs more AoE options in wvw, and better base weapon skills, not better utilites (they are currently only brought for their utility skills)
Thief: Nice changes, but I would rather have more ways to prevent stealth/teleports in the first place
Most classes: not much change, overall WvW meta remains the same (gars and wars top tier, sprinkle in other classes, except ranger, for their niche)
Debating isn’t arguing. EDIT: we aren’t suppose to debate? Really?
(edited by Cake.4920)
Primetime is dependent on the region, not your schedule. You can’t debate this.
Nighttime players already score 2-5x the points per manhour, so imposing a score reduction on them is fair.
Can I use the same argument? my night is your day – so we need to cut the mapsize down during your timeframe. See how that works?
I don’t have a night time or day time, I was referring to the region’s. If you want something more “objective”, across all servers I guarantee you there is less population on during each region’s nighttime, so it makes sense to limit map population during those times.
No-one minds coverage if its wonky – two close match servers with close points due to one being night, one being day.
I do. Read my previous post.
Also, I find that personally I’m able to score anywhere from 2-5x more points in the middle of the night than I would during primetime. This is why people say WvW is about coverage more so than population, and there is a limited amount of oceanics/asians to go around.
Reducing the max map population during off hours, so that less nighttime players are needed per server, or reducing PPT gained during off hours needs to be done in order to say that man hours during primetime are equivalent to man hours during nighttime, otherwise I feel like I’m wasting time playing for PPT during the day.
The problem with this is there are servers who have a stronger night presence then “prime time presence” So while they may dominate at night they still lose more points then gained during the day. This would kill those servers, the bottom line is the population needs to spread somehow or someway whether its via implementing WvW guesting or transfers.
These servers need to be killed. It has never, ever been fun to fight against servers with different timezone coverages. Logging in to PvDoor, then logging off and watching your stuff get PvDoored is fun for no one, even if it happened at the same rate to both servers (which it usually doesn’t, it usually favors the “nighttime” server since there is always primetime players)
Hey, glad you are updating the list
- Renewed Justice
Several users report that it may fail to renew itself upon dealing the finishing blow on a foe. This appears to only apply to enemies that do not award XP.
- Symbol of Swiftness
Will only add 1 second per tick to an existing swiftness boon.
Can fail to apply swiftness if a player runs through the symbol between ticks ( This is more likely if the player is already under the effect of swiftness ).
Traiting Writ of Exultation for larger symbols can alleviate this issue.
Not bugs
- Leap of Faith when combined with Trait Blind Exposure
Blind effect causes 3 stacks of vulnerability multiplied by the number of AoE hits the skill achieves. Hitting 5 targets will produce 15 stacks of Vulnerability. All other blind skills produce the correct 3 stacks regardless of AoE effect.
This has nothing to do with blind exposure, Leap of faith hits aoe and applies an aoe blind for each target hit. For example, if you hit 5 targets, you are really applying 5 blinds to each of the 5 targets. That might be a bug but its relation with blind exposure is consistent.
Another thing to at least take note of is that Consecrated Ground works underwater. Well its not a “bug”, its probably unintended as its afaik the only ground targeted skills underwater and it pretty much makes them terrible
Removing as I might be wrong, actually haven’t tested.
(edited by Cake.4920)
Its stupid threefold.
1. Major nerf for people who were actually using it to kill guards (though it was pretty OP)
2. Increase in stats for WXP = suck
3. If Anet randomly does kitten like this, who’s to say they won’t do more stupid stuff like change arrow cart increased radius to “barbed arrows give a 1s regen boon to allies”.
4) People who AoE a Zerg should be punished
Why?
Anyway I think retal should at least do what the description says it does, reflecting damage, preferably as a percentage thats capped. Example: 15% of incoming damage is negated and is instead reflected to the attacker, capped at [198.45 + (0.075 * Power)]*.33
(edited by Cake.4920)
Hard to take you seriously when you complain about mug
Nokaru, don’t you understand? Theres suppose to be no counter to a zerg, atleast in Anets eyes.
I asked all of my guildies/friends, and they LOVE the temporary content that Anet puts out every month/2 months. We want to see more content that disappears after the month is over, rather than boring permanent stuff like fractals. Keep up the good work!
Oh QQ moar mesmers, confusion at 50% is still very very viable, its just no longer kittenedly OP to the point where all you do is put all your traits/skills into confusion. As a Guardian, I’ll fully admit retal is OP but you won’t see me complain on the forums when it finally does get nerfed, because I learned how to play
you still cant count but still impressive
While intended, I think it should be changed. No skill/strategy in setting up a treb and having 3 eles chain SW, and its pretty much the ultimate counter to anything the defenders try to do other than suicide.
Currently Guardian is stronger than Ranger. So you should pick that.
Any of the top 6 servers are pretty active in wvw. But if you don’t want too much queue come to tier 2 (rank 4 to rank 6). Consider joining us in Kaineng. ^^
And you say this because you’ve played extensively on both Tier 7 and Tier 8 and verified that there’s really no WvW activity there? Uh-huh, right. I play Tier 8, and despite the bashing it gets around here, it’s active. I’m sure our zergs are not as large as those on the higher tiers, but that’s already been said. I suggest you confine your assertions to things you actually know about and then let the OP make his own decision.
Well I transferred to tier 7 a few months ago for a week with my small guild, and it really is almost a ghost town. At certain hours, there were maybe 15-20 allied players across all 4 maps, yet we would hold 200+ PPT. My guild 4 manned a decently upgraded keep (reinforced doors + mortars), and 3 manned a fully upgraded tower. About 5 of us were able to hold 40+ PPT on our own in an enemy BL, mostly due to noone even trying to recap supply camps.
The skill level was also awful. Bad siege placed everywhere, a good 60-75% of warriors were running 5 signets, and a friend and I even killed 10 people attacking our paper tower w/o siege.
To OP: I wouldn’t go below tier 3 ever. Also some people will mention queues, but don’t worry, I don’t even think tier 1 servers get queues on a majority of maps after reset night.
Why do you claim Refraction be ridiculous on land?
Why would the skill being underwater have any bearing on the cooldown?
3D environments means that its harder to hit stuff, especially with aoe or melee. This is why every class has a ranged option underwater, why there were originally no combos underwater, no ground targeting, etc.
In reverse, it means its harder for your allies to gain refraction’s benefits, whereas on land its much easier. Also, retaliation is a really weak boon underwater
I don’t think there should be an AoE limit at all. If you are too stupid to get out of the fire you deserve to burn!
Hi, can you let me know where the red circle is for the following AOE?
Meteor Shower
Mesmer Feedback
Mesmer TimeWarp
Guardian Symbols
etc
lmao
Meteor shower has meteors raining
feedback is a giant kittening purple circle, sometimes its hard to tell whose side casted it, but just pay attention
TW doesnt do dmg
symbols do have the red circle, if they don’t they are friendly
Blue does not have a bank in SE corner for whatever reason, red and green do
SW corner never has a bank
the crafting tables in your own BL give access to a bank
Defending camps is spawn camping? Really bro? Really?
The invulnerable spot is quite far from the actual camp, far enough that you cannot call it ‘defending camps’ to be pushing them back that far.
Quite far being about 10 seconds of running? At least 10+ times during the last few days did someone run away from me to the invuln spot after agroing the camp guards. Certain classes abuse it as their “get out of jail free” card and theres not much you can do to stop them
So last night I go into my homeland to make sure we have 100% of the area before I plan to move to EB. But there are a group of guys in our homeland (less than 10), all from the same guild, who keep capping a supply point. Right next to the supply point is an invulnerable area (about 20 metres away), that they keep running to after attacking the supply point. They kept coming back and rallying on that point, so it was intentional.
In the end we had to camp the point for around 4 hours to stop them from capping it. Im not sure is this is intended? If it is an exploit, is it worth reporting and would Anet do anything about it?
Nothing new. Spawn campers whining they cant spawn camp. Yes i realize its not literally their spawn, but as you said, its 20m from their spawn point, and if it wasn’t intended the inv would’ve ended alot more closer to their spawn near the cliffs at the back of the supply camp.
I treat spawn campers and hackers both as scum.
Defending camps is spawn camping? Really bro? Really?
Anyway I found it funny when I was winning a 1v3 and after I killed 2 people, the last person ran to the invuln spot. Made me giggle like a school girl
If I buy 2 accounts, and use no 3rd party programs, am I allowed to say, put one inside a tower in wvw to scout, while the other fights with the main zerg?
Swirling Winds requires a team of ele’s to completely do nothing else except rotate spamming Swirling Winds.
It’s honestly very strategical
wut
The most important thing is to have solid gear for your level. Buy atleast greens around your level for every slot and put upgrades in them. The upscaling works in your favor.
My lvl 30 twink mesmer in mostly rares has higher stats than most 80’s.
Are you sure its not overflow? Remember that overflows are cross server
Well you can’t get into inner from that spot, at least from jumping. There’s an invisible wall to stop it
from the acts of individuals that have been dealt with.
err, no they haven’t
EDIT: as far as I’m the aware, the GL if Icoa is lying through his teeth to protect everyone in hils guild except the 1-2 mesmers. Almost everyone else on BG is defending him. I’d love to be wrong though
Also to respond, to Kaid, I’m not saying the individuals on BG rep is hurt, I’m saying the server as a whole rep is hurt. There’s a huge difference
Also, what does it matter that it was a large guild? Would it have been okay if it was a small guild?
It would’ve hurt BG’s rep less, if that’s what you mean.
Guilds and Commanders represent the server, whether you want them to or not.
It doesn’t look like he made it into the inner, so its not exploiting. Not sure about the necro AoE
BG has to earn it’s reputation back.
BG’s reputation is perfectly fine.
A world’s reputation is not based on the rantings of a handful of people posting continuously on forums that are read by less than 1% of the in-game community.
BG’s rep is not fine, when a commander from a large BG guild purposely abuses an exploit.
