The reason I am posting this is to try to alleviate some of the tinfoil hatting. Did we infact only fight Ehmry at one point to allow Garrison to fall to Maguuma who was a much smaller force and not Ehmry? Yes… Why did we do it though? Because Ehmry had 2 Trebs hitting the wall and it was going to force Maguuma to instantly need to defend and Maguuma was using flame rams and would just have been pushed out. It was not due to an alliance. I think people see this stuff and assume it means alliance but don’t understand that the leaders of large guilds on all servers make decisions based on a broader strategy than just who to kill.
PS: Ehmry if you stopped being little lamers and trying to push over Ruins and onto Greenlake every 10 minutes I wouldn’t have people fighting you off the Ruins.

So if you are out-manned the enemy is probably getting +15% health and +150 to each stat. You are getting 33% karma 33% experience and 20% magic find. Which yields you… nothing when you are camped in your spawn. GG
On the second to last event people have started exploiting the ability to climb the wall and then jump over the gate. They go straight to the end boss without doing the run around. Of course while doing this they sacrifice one chest but they get the end reward and the end chest.
Please fix this exploit, first I am tired of PUGs forcing me to do it or leave and I am also tired of horrible players that can’t just do the run around getting the end reward without just learning to do the fight. Please fix this on going exploit.
I know I don’t get how these simple features could have been overlooked on such an expensive item. I mean somewhere along the line someone must have thought, “Hey would I pay 100g for this?”
Any news yet on changing the culling back to the way it was at launch?

It is important that people also understand that this is actually a CHANGE…. I used to see everything and then they patched in the culling and BAM.
That post isn’t quite the same they talk about other issues than just culling. However this is purely about culling and how it impacts computers on the entire spectrum.
Also I would love the Dev who posted there to explain why I with a 512/512 data 3 ssd 16 gigs, a 670gtx, and an i7 3770 cull the same as people with weak setups comparatively. Clearly the part you said about what a persons comp comp does is very different. There shouldn’t be any server determined culling it should have a slider for render distance like everyother mmo. Ohh and I have buisness class which is 60mbps down and 15 mbps up.
Till MoP is out. That means you have 6 days to prove to about half your players that this game can actually be more fun than WoW long term.

However about half my 180 person guild has been saying this and I am starting to see it in map chat. I hope for all of us that you have a major patch that fixes a lot of the stuff that is wrong being saved up from the 23rd or 24th.
I would consider that a bug on the necro then, considering my thiefs bonus showed, and went up more when i used 2 +10 bleed duration sigils on weapons.
Maybe a bug simply on the tooltip but it isn’t bugged as far as the bleed duration.

The culling changes are wrecking WvW (edit) and apparently PvE events according to the guy below(/edit)
They wreck the game for players with mid-range computers because they never fully cull in the enemy before dying (according to my members)
They wreck the game for people with high end computers because we can’t see the enemy masses only 10 at a time until the culling is done.
They don’t work for people with low end computers because they run around never seeing enemy (According to my members)
They have increased the lag for about half my guild (of 180)
It has created a way for players to organize with the intention of taking advantage of the culling. Battles are no longer force vs force but instead are force vs force vs server settings.
They made being any direct damage build irrelevant as you can’t cull people in to direct damage or know when you are actually in the middle of 30 enemy not 5.
Blind AoE is now what wins in WvW… Know the enemy are in a supply camp? Stack 60 people at the entrance when they run out it will only look like 10 and then you all just pop AoE heals and spam AoE Damage and you wipe the other group without a real fight.
I would appreciate a little bit more forethought on “fixes”.

I have it but I couldn’t care less how many people have it and would not agree with you even then. If they made the appropriate changes as are discussed in this thread than it would be extremely useful. Especially the one where I could run a squad but NOT show up on the map I like that one.
You shouldn’t assume things about people based on if they have an item…
My guild has 180 active members (we know they are active cause we just switched servers and that many came with us and we kicked the rest) and they all represent 100% of the time. We bought the book as a guild to help with our organization when we are fielding 60 people on a map. I am not one of those ppl that bought gold to have their name on the map. I am glad though to see that you care so much about other people showing up on the map to get angry because you don’t.

I disagree with this, I don’t see a reason to remove it. It can simply be improved, now of course there is the issue of people want to just be able to make raids (for events and such) but it seems like ANet doesn’t want to do that. However the item you spend 100g on should give that option.

I would like to note, I am assuming the devs had a list a mile long of things that they wanted to add to game, but time constraints and being pressed to release the game became a priority. I think all of the “MMO common sense” changes are on the horizon. I am so impressed with the evolution of the WvW that I can overlook all of the trivial stuff that is known as MMO 101.
Everytime I find something slightly annoying, I think back to the faceplant of AOC siege, and thank God I am not throwing another game into the garbage can.
I agree I can wait however when you spend 100g on something that lets be honest gives no basic functionality it is an issue.
A lot of really good feedback. I think it is important to point out that everyone has their own builds and plays their own thing and thus would want to change it this way or that. Clearly if you were power there could be a better shift and if you were condition there could be a better shift. This is about balance not min/max.
One thing I would like to address that was said is hemo and scepter condition duration not stacking. This is simply not true and BEFORE you respond I challenge you to reset your traits go hit something watch your 4 second bleed. Add hemo watch your 5 second bleed and add the 30 point and watch your 7 second bleed. The only point I am trying to make here is just because it was a said in a super well formatted post (that I read too) by someone who seemed to know what they were talking about, it is in fact total bs.
btw I am not trying to say there aren’t other bugs just that I think this would be a quick and easy way to bring necromancers from the bottom of the pile to the middle.
I was derping around on my necromancer trying to come up with a build when it occurred to me that the main issue with building my necro was the stat bonus differential with spite and curses.
What I mean by this is that Spite is Power(Damage) and condition duration (dot duration) and Curses is Precision (crit) and Condition Damage (Dot Damage). The problem is that this is not synergistic with the trait offering making people feel the need to take Curses in power/crit builds just for the +crit or take Spite in the condition builds just for the +duration with no reason in terms of the actual traits.
Simple fix:
Make Spite Give Power and Precision and make Curses give Condition Damage and Condition Duration.
Why:
This will allow people to make the specialized builds with 30 and 0 and whatever or 0 30 and whatever. This will make Necro builds more centralized and powerful without changing the flavor of the class in anyway.
Discuss.
I really like this idea Melphina I would love to be able to use the squad commander without needing to advertise it to the server. With 180 active and representing members in my guild there is enough to command without zerglings expecting me to lead there group that is on the other side of the map too.
All really good ideas coming out hopefully they put them in.

@Silentfear I agree that there is another issue. However the old adage of “Two wrongs don’t make a right.” comes to mind here. Just because one thing is broken doesn’t mean we shouldn’t point out that the other is.
@Archaeneoso – As for the issue of a catapult or trebo the hallway into the Hill keep is 5 feet wide say 12 feet high and 10 feet long, all of the enemies equipment was outside of the visible arc so no you couldn’t have just shot in there and gotten in.
@ SyphenThe retaliation was spammed by the guardians and did nothing (maybe nerf maybe just bad luck) bubbles were placed but in the end all 60 people died trying to push in.
@Teulux What your trying to say about zerging is just silly 60 people on teamspeak organized went the back way not mindless to the front of inner, went up clearing the walls before going to the lord, went to push in and got cut down.

Last night we had a good sized group of about 65 people break through the outer and inner wall of a mostly upgraded keep without even a hint of real resistance. Feeling lucky that we might have caught the enemy off-guard we pushed through… This ended quickly when we got to the 1 single doorway into the keep lords room only to find that about 12 enemy had built 10 arrow carts and 2 bals inside(we know cause after we server hopped to see what they had).
We tried using retaliation walls but it didn’t work (apparently that works more on open field or isn’t really as big of an issue as people say). We then tried to pull the keep lord out but that didn’t matter since they had the altar of power in their with them and the orb on it. So we tried to bubble and rush through and everyone got cut down before making it through the hallway. That is the story of how 12 people held a keep from 65 people with no real effort to hold the walls or gates.
Unfortunately this strategy is just going to be widely used to make the Hills keeps invulnerable until it is fixed all day any day simply have 1 person every 15 minutes go and get on every piece of seige then when an attack starts just run your zerg straight in and wait. GG
I agree with all of these comments tbh. I think a secondary system would also be great even if paid for. The only thing I want to add to that is that if they make a secondary system they need to offer refunds for the guilds that bought commander.
I agree. A friend of mine bought Commander, and I kind of feel bad for him. It’s like he paid 100g to have a new chat that random people can join.
I feel bad for my guild too. We had a lot of members donate so that we could get this thing that we thought would help organization and while it somewhat did it definitely hasn’t helped 100g worth. I trust these issues will be fixed anyways I mean they need to put in a raid group system and I highly doubt they will put a free one in while commander is still around or at least without offering refunds.
This issue should be addressed soon.
Ya I definitely agree they need to get 1 2 and 3 in ASAP. It really should have already been in especially at 100gold. As for the rest of them that is less of an immediate issue but 1 2 and 3 are such necessities that I would basically consider it to be broken without them.
This is a stupid comment for the following reasons:
It may be working as intended but that doesn’t mean it is right.
Working as intended doesn’t mean it doesn’t wreck the game for the people on the receiving end.
Working as intended doesn’t mean that it won’t cause people to stop playing WvW or leave the game and just peg Guild Wars 2 as another fail MMO.
Working as intended doesn’t mean that it won’t make people use the free xfer and come to YOUR server and jam up YOUR queues.
Working as intended simply put doesn’t make it good game design.
Everyone can see it is working as intended and that isn’t really the issue at hand. In the end you are really hurting yourself by not caring because with it not resetting every 24 hours ppl who care will flock off the servers that are getting double teamed and onto the ones doing it this week and your 30 minute queue will become 1+ hours.
Sorry I did not know I appeared as such to you. However, I can say for a fact that TA has not “allied” with any opposing server to take down any one opponent server. I just want them to stop free transfers to “FULL” (lol) servers..
However, 2v1 is kinda why WvW is a 3-sided game. Any one server can just decide to not attack another server and gang up on one opponent, and the other side seeing this might not attack back as well. Not planned in any way, but it happens. I don’t hit you cos you’re not hitting me. When there’s no one left to hit, I might start hitting you. I guess this is my way of seeing it lol xD

The issue is when it happens and it clearly isn’t just a random occurrence because there are 3 teams. I have given the examples of this further up so I don’t want to repeat them but you should spend a second to read them and respond with the understanding that those type of things are happening.

Ways to Improve Squad Commander:
1-All members of the squad should show up on the map like in parties (to members and leader).
2-There should be a squad window that shows who is in the squad
3-Basic Control options such as inviting people/kicking people/locking random joins.
4-The option to show or hide the commander symbol from people not in squad
5-The option to assign 2 assistants who can invite/kick/set map markers.
6-Assistants should show up with a special map marker to people in the squad and nothing to people outside.
7-Allow an optionally joined cross continent channel for any squad commander who is currently leading a squad of 10 or more people.
8-Squad Window should show Total Squad resources and Seige Equipment as well as being able to organize the squad by who has what or at least mouse over to see who has what.
9-The option to allow or limit specific people’s ability to talk in squad chat.
10-The ability to Draw on all Squad members maps and limit drawing, (drawing should stay on the map not disappear like currently)
11- Make commander chat a different color.
12- Make the ability to vote to make someone a temporary Commander if there isn’t on on the continent already.
13- The option for different colors for the commander icon, so you can say “red commander heading north, blue going east” or “yellow is a scout team”.
14- The ability to toggle the icon while still running a squad/have it only show up to people in the squad.

Should be server vs server with a strong ladder. 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs 4th, etc. It will be balanced because of the ladder and you eliminate the need for a third server which then also just turns into 1 server getting teamed.
I have seen this too. I waited in queue for 30 minutes but when I got in I had the outmanned buff signifying that we had less people. I was curious if maybe a whole bunch just left so I left and tried to re-enter and was queue’d again. Once I got in again I still had the buff. Something is not working.
Syn it is important to realize that you are not buying a bigger party option. You are buying the ability to create a chat channel that anyone can join simply by clicking on you or another squad member and the ability for 1 person in that chat channel to put markers on the map. You do not get control over who can join/talk/place markers and you do not see everyone like you do with a party or have a window you can open and look at who is in.
Thanks Proud Heart I would be totally open to them actually making the changes to commander as well. However the current system is not worth 10g never mind 100g.
Just +1, this is HUGE FAIL that mmo like GW2 with rich content of mass pvp, have not even basic raid options. ANet must put develop this on highest priority, becouse without this feature even name Guild Wars hardly fails in describing point of this game. Atm this is Pug Wars 2. ANet give us some answers about this issue.
Fully agree and the commander system isn’t raid options at all. I would pay the 100g gladly to be able to make a raid ala World of Warcraft. I could care less about any other option such as map markers. Just let me pay 100g to make a raid group.
The problem is there are apparent claims of a losing server and dominate server tag teaming the other non dominate server.
That is exactly what happened to us. We weren’t dominating or even winning we were in second before it started but then there was a clear organized push against us. I’m talking situations like your chasing 10 green with 20 guys and then a group of 40 red come plowing through the 10 green don’t attack a single one and kill you while the green team stops heals and then goes back to attacking your supply. Once done killing you the red team ran off the other way they didn’t follow the 10 green and kill them 200 feet away in the supply camp and take it. They had clearly been called in by Green (probably out of game voice comms) to help.
So you think that in chat someone said. “Hey guys, only kill Blackgate” and everyone listened, and suddenly a partnership was born between the other 2 factions? Wvw is a machine that cannot be controlled.

And two smaller servers SHOULD gang up and double team 1 BIG server which is dominating. This is why 3 way pvp works….and why 2 faction pvp always ends in an epic fail. Anyone who played Ilum on Swtor knows this. And Arenanet know this.
3 way pvp works precisely BECAUSE spontaneous ganging up on the powerful server happens and balances things.
That isn’t what is happening lol. It is clear there are three kinds of people in this discussion; people who are being teamed up on, people who are doing the teaming up on; and people who don’t really understand the level of the teaming up.
Last night about 50 red attacked our keep at the north, about 80 green ran around the keep right past all the red people (like 20 feet from them) and went around the side of the keep without attacking a single red. At this point we thought we were going to be sandwiched but that didn’t happen. Instead this huge Green force ran right by the other team and took up position on a bridge to stop our reinforcements and respawns. They didn’t take the Sentry 40 feet away, the supply depot just south, or the tower undefended just in front of them. They had 1 purpose and only 1 stop us from defending against Red. This happened across all the continents last night. Ohh and then there was the joint group of red and green camping spawn on one borderland. Rather than pushing us in and then fighting each other 60+ green camped the main path out of spawn and 30+ red camped each side path out for hours.

Please who has that kinda time. Clearly they should make an official change the Squad Commander system thread.
BTW there seems to be some misconceptions going around about what Commanders can actually do. My guild is going to make a youtube video today to show all the aspects of being in a squad or commanding a squad. This will hopefully bring people to actual understanding of what it does and eliminate the people defending it because they think the commander can see everyone on the map, mouse over them and see if they are carrying seige and supply, and all the other rediculous ideas that are floting around.
It is literally 3 things #1: A squad chat channel, #2 Map Markers, #3 allows anyone to click and join.
What it does not do (these are all things that people have posts on these forums):
-It doesn’t allow the SC(squad commander) to see everyone on the map
-It doesn’t allow the SMs(squad members) to see everyone on the map
-It doesn’t allow the SC to see peoples supply levels
-It doesn’t allow the SC to see what seige equipment people are carrying
-It doesn’t have a window that shows who is in the squad
-It doesn’t have the option for assistant squad leaders to be assigned
-It doesn’t allow the squad to be locked
-It doesn’t allow the SC to invite people to the squad
-It doesn’t allow SMs to invite people to the squad
-It doesn’t allow the SC to see all the forces on the map
-It doesn’t create a cross continent chat channel between all the SCs
that is all I have read off the top of my head there are probably more.
Orz someone lied to you about what they do. They don’t have any window that shows the squad, they don’t give supply, your commanders can’t see you on the map. My guild is going to make a youtube video later tonight to show these points. So that everyone can be on the same page about what it really does. It doesn’t help a bad situation that commanders are apparently lying to people about what it does so that people will always get supply or w/e else they are telling you.

The issue is that there is no option for a large guild that is highly organized. We field 40 to 50 ppl a night all on teamspeak and led by ex-military or exEvE fleet commanders. We want an option that allows us to do our group while having in game support for that group without needing to open it to the public. This isn’t a QQ as some Guy said but a simple request for a feature that should have already been in place.
