Yeah, let’s change the entire game just because of one person’s schedule.
I am principly a solo PvE’r who will do casual dungeon runs, and tried fractals back before the recent changes were made. Which means that raids could be hit-or-miss for me. And after reading up on the ANet here and other people’s thoughts about the implications of LWS3, I can say that I’m one of the players who isn’t too excited about this. Yes, nothing will be “gated” if you haven’t done the raid, but gated content is not the same as experience vs synopsis. Those of us who did not run the raid or aren’t interested in it can still play LWS3, but the only way we will learn about the story connected to the raid is by watching/reading the synposis that will be in S3 and/or looking it up online in our free time. Which, to me, even if it isn’t something that will take any time or effort, still seems like a strange story choice.
Example: Dungeons have stories and lore that tie in to the bigger picture, but no where, beyond the little mail messages you get when you hit the respective level for that dungeon, is that dungeon’s story referenced to much degree in the PvE environment. You can go through your Personal Story, defeat Zhaitan, and the dungeon stories contribute very little beyond simply telling you what the members of Destiny’s Edge were doing while you were off gallivanting with your Order.
Now, with LWS3, it sounds like the raid will be heavily referenced, unlike the dungeons of core Tyria.
Did you even read the post lmao?
No way man 4 warrior 1 mesmer on P1 is the best way to do it
Random question:
What is the ‘forum bug’ people always talk about on a new page?
The entitlement makes me cringe
What are the odds they actually address?
This already exists.
1. Get a job
2. Buy gems with your paycheck
3. Convert gems to gold
4. Buy reward you want
I miss threads like this.
Top quality entertainment.
If you really want a legendary without having to be “forced” to do a certain type of content, they would have to add a button in the UI that said “Give me a free legendary”
Even then I bet people would complain because they are forced to click the button which is something they don’t want to have to do.
I would love hard mode dungeons
If it wasn’t for the raids I would have quit the game long ago
I got mine first try, and so did everyone else in my raid team.
Are you sure you’re not doing something wrong?
This should have been a raid reward. Perfect place to implement an outfit as an in-game reward instead of the gem store.
Remember back when people were like “omg legendary weapons arent legendary cause u can just buy them!! plz make them require hard content!”
And now that this is finally the case we see
“omg its unfair that i actually need to work for legendary armor. i just wanna be able to cheese it”
It’s people like Ohoni that make me even more excited to have my set of legendary armor.
This takes complaining for the sake of complaining to a whole new level.
This bug is very annoying and needs to be fixed ASAP
Raids do not need to be made more accessible. They are completely fine where they are now.
Anyone asking for an ‘easy mode’ is entitled and selfish.
Raids are already easy. They just require effort, which seems to be a foreign concept to these people.
Learn to adapt yourself to the content, don’t expect ArenaNet to adapt the content to you.
Ohoni – All this effort you have put into white-knighting and complaining on the forums for the past few months could have been put into raiding instead and then we would all be spared from having to read more posts like this.

- Reflection is pretty much useless in raids.
If you think this, then you clearly haven’t raided much.
Happy 1 year anniversary!
Here’s to another great year of terrible communication!
I swear gamers are getting more and more entitled these days. Everyone wants to have access to everything without putting in any effort.
Expecting to achieve something without putting in the work required to do so is an entitled and selfish mindset, not just in GW2 but in all areas of life.
Want a car? Save money and buy it.
Want a smoking hot girlfriend? Put yourself out there.
Want raid armor in a video game? Play the bloody raid.
Sure, some people will have a more difficult time achieving certain goals than other people. Welcome to life.
You’re hung up on a dead game. It’s time to take off the rose-tinted glasses.

“Easy mode” might make some non-raiders happy but it would ruin raiding for a majority of the raiding community, whether you agree with it or not.
Now, who do you think ArenaNet wants their raid content to appeal to more: raiders or non-raiders?

It’s never a positive thing for a entertainment company to make someone, anyone, feel neglected.
Yea, so let’s completly remove an area of the game that many people like to play, that will help. /s
The most prestigious armor in the game is rewarded by completing the most difficult content in the game.
And that’s exactly how it should be.
“Legendary” armor isn’t so legendary if everyone and their brother can get it.
Please don’t add this. It will ruin the only bit of good content this game actually has.
Raids are the only thing that are keeping me from quitting this game.
Keep them coming!
Yea, because so many other players get to look at your character select screen.
No. Dungeons have been ravaged enough. Just let them lie as they are so we can at least still enjoy them a little bit.
Anet wants people to stop playing dungeons. Why can’t people just accept this?
Because they’re fun?
Well boyz, its been a long time coming.
Miku? Lol wut? Pretty sure you meant Nika.
Someone got mad at you for joining a raid while having the wrong gear, screwing up aggro, and failing to dodge attacks so you came crying to the forums?
Maybe if you were properly prepared for the raid and didn’t expect to get carried you wouldn’t have this problem.
Check this out:
Perhaps some light at the end of the tunnel?
I thought it was confirmed to be champion roy’s boy
Animations are fine. Don’t change them.
And the terrain bug only applies to projectile skills that follow the camera (Fireball), not ones that always stay at ground level (Bladetrail).
Go on an Ele, point your camera at the ground and use fireball. It will fly into the ground. Then do it looking up, it will fly into the air.
Then go on a Warrior and use Bladetrail. It will go straight ahead of the character the same way no matter what way the camera is facing. Same with Path Of Scars on Ranger. Brutal blade was like this., too.
I’ll bet you can’t get Bladetrail or Path of Scars to shoot into the ground no matter what.
just..let…it…go…. who cares, racials are bad, out of everything in this game, this is the one thing you want to complain about so consistently? there are actual issues that the devs are working on.
This shouldn’t even be an issue in the fist place. There’s no reason arbitrarily remove something all classes have.
Why would you need to balance any differently on Revenant than any other class.
I mean in every way the Revenant’s Utilities are different from every other class in the game. They come in sets that you can’t change. You get access to multiple sets of utilities with Legend Swap. Why do they need to be balanced differently? Because they are different from every other class.
Engineers get toolbelt skills from their utilities, that is different from every other class and they still made it work. Not putting racials on Revenant just seems like a lazy cop-out in my opinion.
I kinda liked this part of the auto :/ it made it feel different from all the other sword skills out there. Oh well, at least we still have the cool stabby stab animation on the 1st part
yeah but sometimes usability > coolness…a projectile on a melee auto doen’t feel right
Does launching hammers at range, bashing people with a magic weapon or poisoning with a mace feel right? It’s like Revenant’s thing to use weapons in weird hipster ways.
he’s talking about it literally not being usable or hurting you when you use it. Like certain areas in the game it just misses because of wonky terrain and your damage is cut in half. Certain PvE encounters (and when ppl caught on pvp too) have reflects so you hurt yourself…
The upside of the attack was incredibly minor at best with working with that gm flanking trait (which may have gotten nerfed 6 months from now anyway.)
Anyone who dislikes this change probably hasn’t played enough of gw2 or enough of rev/guardian to have experienced it. A projectile on a melee attack is hair pulling annoying is certain situations.
Has 0 to do with feels but actual usability.
I’ve got 5k hours, 3k of them on guard but thanks, though. The skill was completely usable. Yea, projectiles get reflected, that’s like a mechanic in the game, certain skills have counter-play. That’s like saying “I hate how my attacks miss when I’m blinded, plz remove it from the game.”
And the terrain bug only applies to projectile skills that follow the camera (Fireball), not ones that always stay at ground level (Bladetrail). Brutal Blade was the latter and it worked completely fine. It was a fun mechanic that made Revenant feel distinct from the massive over saturation of sword users with boring autos we already have and it’s sad to see it go.

Your concerns are invalid; Do you even understand what it would take to balance all racials across all Revenant legends??
Get over it, this might help you:
https://youtu.be/R0H7EsWFbtc
Why would you need to balance any differently on Revenant than any other class. Legends are just utilities. It’s not like they needed to “balance” racials around a warrior with all signet utilities, or a thief running venoms. Plus racial skills are underpowered to begin with so it’s not like it would matter. It’s annoyingly inconsistent that one class randomly doesn’t get something that all other classes do. It should be an all or nothing thing.
I’m pretty surprised something like this has gone so long without a fix. Legendaries are such a huge part of the game and its so sad to see something like this tossed out the window just like our old pal lupicus
I kinda liked this part of the auto :/ it made it feel different from all the other sword skills out there. Oh well, at least we still have the cool stabby stab animation on the 1st part
Instead of balancing for both utility bars, just make racial skills static across both bars, recharge and all.
…. No, shape-shifting is not a part of their basic biology. It’s a magical gift granted on them by animal spirits, who are either really racist snobs about it, or the other races simply don’t buy into that religion enough to earn the perks… either way… it’s snobby.
Does this mean that Revenants are anti-religious? No Prayers, No Guns, No Spirits, no Science and No Tree-hugging hippy powers….
I think I just fell in love more with Revenant….
All kidding aside though, the racial elites were removed from the Revenant due to how the Rev cycles utility skills and the Racials were not balanced with that in mind. So to avoid a large balance issue, they simply cut it out.
No part of your Norn or any other part and anyone elses character was cut off int he making of your Revenant.
… That we know of.
If you look on the wiki page about Norn it says that shape shifting is part of their biology
I know Roy said we aren’t getting racial skills. But shape shifting is part of actual Norn physiology. It’s seems weird lore wise that this one class will be completely deprived of their “Nornhood”
