Blame for what? 3 IoM members conveniently popping into the middle of a GvG match to rez a downed player not involved in said GvG? No one targeted anyone who wasn’t in BS. Mighty convenient to assume that no one (maybe one or two) from BS was downed yet this Necro who wasn’t in the match at all was magically spiked and was downed by people totally ignoring him. Watching three IoM run off and heal on the other hand…while our team wiped harder and quicker than any other scrim in the matchup (out of 7 mind you) is pretty suspect. When more than 2/3rds of your team says wtf just happened, and you see people NOT in the fight running away and healing…yea.

Who the kitten jumps into a gvg match to rez a random anyhow? Seriously? If he’s not respecting the obvious GvG clash, let his ignorant kitten die and wp.

BTW, I’ve ran alone around EB today… Not impressive, really… Most IoJ I’ve found either died on overran me with +3 people. Also died to a few DR thieves (usual) and to some Asura Mesmer with Colonel rank. No impressive fights today…

Was 1 add in. I was him. And no one was downed. Was you vs 2 CORE members. Then your friends showed.

The 5 people that came through the gate aggroing the spectators (me), and the siege built to get the North camp caused that. North of your primary spawn. lol. Yes you wiped us eventually. Yes I Whomped you. But it was only to thin the herd before your friends hopped in and cleared us out.

OH! The no guild repping Asura Ranger rolling spirits. Man you’re a PITA to kill. It’s nice to see Rangers causing so much trouble. A few people are sincerely interested in what you’re rolling…dodgy little arrow cart person.

Gab c’mon man. If it wasn’t such a pain to dig up those ancient threads, I’d be happy to shed some light. But there was a reason I didn’t post a word until about 8 months into the game. DR and IoJ took the same tumble, IoJ was just a little higher up. And for whatever reason IoJ had the worst end of the deal yet kept facing DR and a server with 2x the pop as IoJ and DR (IoJ/DR vs ZerGumma/SBI/EB/BG). And IoJ was third 90% of the time. From t1, to t6. And that took a long time. Hence the love/hate/respect to the “still on the same server” players relationship.

There was a lot of “lol IoJ sucks DR is best” nonsense. And if your memory fails you, feel free to dig it up. The sense of YAAAAAAAAAAY WE BEAT DR FINALLY on IoJ was a serious occasion for a reason.

Both servers were a victim of circumstance, and sadly DR was the better server at the time…or maybe just a server in a better position (population). The bragging got to some people. I’m one of them. Been here since day one. And I still have zero hard feelings to any of you who have done the same…sticking it out and making the best of it. Especially considering the reset today…without what everyone claims is IoJ’s only reason for being decent…the Oceanics didn’t touch the maps. DR simply…wasn’t anywhere to be found.

If you were one of those Transfer jockeys there’d be a lot less respect shown.

However, if you’d like to toss 10 pugs my way vs an ioj “organized group” I’d love to oblige. As I’m sure many, many, many others would. As DR seems to have forgotten about reset night….no struggle at all there…so your comment is a bit debatable.

Once upon a time IoJ and DR played FC. IoJ made it a point to destroy DR due to DR bragging and overhyping their skillzorz!!1! from wrecking a totally underpopulated via exodus t1 server. Week after week, month after month. For at least six months. Then DR focused FC in hopes of catching up in points. It worked for a day or two, until IoJ took notice of the “oh crap we might lose need to play like DH” tactic. FC….with a third of DR’s population at the time put DR into third.

DR just lost to FC….solo. No Help.

Blame transfers if you must (It happens for a reason), but the words that cross your lips and transfer into words via keyboard….eventually come back around to bite you. /DatKarma

Lovely week thus far. Loads of fun and respect rolling past players dueling or mid duel and the “in the know” players not interfering. Minus a few exceptions. Particularly Estel. If you see a giant norn IoJ Ranger with a GS out, fighting another player….please…let Joey have his fun. So many times tonight we had to intervene (badge hungry people ruining duels don’t go unnoticed, and we respond accordingly). If you see anyone going 1v1 sit back and watch, or roll on for that matter. Please. It’s just rude how many people ruin awesome duels. We ran damage control for a bit and passed on Xv1’ing XOXO, SPCA, and quiet a few other guilds players running past solo for that matter. Not only to further emphasize guild integrity, but because you didn’t engage us and kept on your merry way. That’s good stuff. /salute

I have nothing bad to say about either of IoJ’s opponents. You all are great players, great sports, and regardless of any score…you challenge us (IoJ) daily to play better. It’s been a long time since such a lack of trolls, accusations, and nonsense were absent. Much respect for that. I had zero intentions of insulting anyone, I was simply stating/recommending that if SF ramped up the zerg/group tactics and worked together imo you’d devastate people. But in my experience this week, there’s a very good reason why the group I roam with doesn’t run from SF. It’s pretty well known that with working together we can cut through the big groups like hot knives through butter with only 10-15 of us vs 20+ (more often it’s a lot more than 20) SF players. I guess what I meant to say is that if you were a bit more organized instead of “omgush red names CHAAAAARGE” zerging….you’d wreck through some tiers.

If I was chest thumping the videos would’ve already been posted. Simply constructive criticism is all I was going for so don’t take my post the wrong way, no matter what server you’re on.

Also thanks to all of the guilds in the match-up that came to GvG us. The guys and gals in [HARD] had a blast and on behalf of them, thanks for the friendly competition. It helps us all become better players in the end. Kudos to you. And best of luck in the next matchup.

Thanks for your EB keep twice in a matter of 2 hours (sry busy elsewhere wiping folks), and SF taking it once in between those two. With very, very little effort (insert .gif lolz here). That amounts to three. In no time. Don’t be sad though. SF happily lost theirs too just now. Well defended though SF…that was fun. I actually got rezzed tonight.

@ GoM – Stop talking about it and be about it. You might just turn those fair weathers into WvW players eventually. Might want to shift attention to the WvW aspect of….WvW. Not the forums.

@ SF – Numbers don’t equal wins. You guys have an insane population in times that IoJ doesnt. The issue is, 12 IoJ WvW players can drop 30 of you. You guys just bank on your numbers equaling wins. Maybe against T7 & t8, but not the actual regular IoJ players. Suffer a few losses and you’ve suddenly lost half of those numbers. Work on that and people might be afraid of your numbers.

It’s been a blast, it really has. IoJ has been there. You all just need to focus more on the importance of working together, as opposed to flopping out the biggest kitten on the forums and hoping that popularity and lolz will earn you the crown. So much smack talking on the forums….and now you’re both fighting over second.

IoJ doesn’t talk much on the forums for a reason. An insane amount of dedication a discipline goes a long way. Forum warring……not so much as you can see. I might even catch a talking to for posting this but I expected much more from such lippy people here, and such a lack of challenge in the match considering the hype.

Have fight clubs all you want. I’m sure about 99% of IoJ regulars ignore you guys. But when you consistently reflip the camp then run back to your fight club…people take note. And we watched a Fight Club do it at least twice 4 days ago. Clearly other people have noticed as well.

My point exactly. However I have a full account of mostly 80s except a couple classes I want to learn better later on. I’m giving myself something to look forward to learning later I guess. Ranger was my main. And then I played Guardian. And Necro. And Mesmer (it was only fun once I geared up at 80 albeit). And Warrior. And Engy. And Ele. Ranger seemed like such a waste of time suddenly compared to the capabilities of other classes. But the fact remains, players that main Rangers, and realize that they aren’t up to par compared to every other class in the game….DON’T want to reroll & restart. I’m willing to bet a lot of those players simply quit playing gw2. Not everyone plays for 4+ hours a day. Some just pop in and out I’m sure. I have guildies that play every day and only have 1 or maybe 2 lvl 80’s. But I can promise that if their primary toon was a Ranger they’d have another lvl 80 that was something else, and they’d prefer to play the non-Ranger.

It’s a class that’s honestly…as a self proclaimed Guild Wars lifelong Ranger….a class that isn’t worth investing in at the moment. Every other class, does everything better. And that’s a fact.

First off, I appreciate all of the lovely things that Anet is adding into the game. I think its great, and a hell of an improvement compared to mass expansion mode in gw1.

I also understand that Rangers are still very much viable, and still a fun class to play. I’ve been a Ranger in GW for 8+ years. My Ranger is my Commander. Through both games Ranger has been my main. I made it a point to get 100% map completion, full gear, and the best of anything I could as a Ranger because it’s the class I loved most from gw1. And then I played other classes and realized why people kick Rangers from dungeon groups, clown them in wvw, and most of the time outright refuse to run higher end Fractals with a Ranger in the party.

There are some great ways to play a Ranger, but there is nothing that a Ranger can roll through 100% of the game that is anywhere remotely close to being as desired as any other class. Patch after patch, fix after fix, nerf after nerf…things have improved and things have worsened. And unless something is done to fix the Ranger…more and more players are going to be discouraged. Not everyone has more than 1 lvl 80. And those whose main is a Ranger…getting dropped from groups, getting rolled in 1v1’s, and being a downright outcast of a class…it’s depressing. And I highly doubt that 100% of them are motivated to reroll to something more desired by the public.

I’ve clutched many guild groups dungeons, I’ve trapped many points in pvp for holds, and I’ve rolled through borderlands with heavenly arrows raining from my bow. But I was surrounded by good people confident in my abilities. But seeing the way Rangers are treated in every aspect of the game by the general public is sad.

It’s been ten months. Close to a year. The point where Colin is talking about all of the wonderful things to come, yet no word on fixing the 1/6th of the professions that no one really ever asks for in a group much less has confidence in unless they know said ranger & are confident in them.

Like I said, Rangers are great in the right hands. Rangers are great when the people you’re playing with know you and know that you as a Ranger can hold your own. Rangers are my favorite class. And it sucks to know that every other class is better at anything and everything a Ranger can do.

Instead of hyping up the incoming content, why not un-eff one of Guild Wars most beloved professions? If it wasn’t for my 7 years in gw1 having a blast doing anything and everything as a Ranger I wouldn’t have even bought this game. But until something changes…I’d rather roll any/everything else. At least I know I’m safe in a pick up group.

We on IoJ know the feeling all too well. At one point in time (Jan-Feb) we had all of 6 active WvW Commanders. Now….at least 30+. We were one of the Mass Exodus servers. But it’s a good feeling when your server gets back on it’s feet and you have the pride of sticking it out through the struggle. At least you guys aren’t going to tumble down through tiers like we did though, so that’s a plus I suppose. Kudos to you guys and gals for still putting up a fight and GL with the population ordeal.

What map are your good roamers hanging out on, Banzie? I spent some time on IoJ borderlands last night chasing around a group of cast/FAIL/HARD players, but they all seemed more interested in running into their towers or jumping on a ballista than actually engaging a solo player directly.

Any guild tags I should be looking for in particular? This is our first time fighting IoJ, so I’d like to see what kind of fights and tactics you have to offer.

If you seen a group of [HARD] (CORE was probably with us if I remember correctly) members ignoring you, take no offense. We’ve worked REALLY kitten moving around in tight knit groups and teaching players to not get badge hungry and chase off 1 invader. It’s a discipline thing, we always have an objective and we focus on that objective alone. If the Commander we’re with ignores you, everyone else will as well. It’s just how we roll brotha. :P

Then some IoJ homies that were Lord Moding like us got bored and stopped by to see what was going on. We went from prepping to defend Hills to owning the whole entire map. With Zero resistance. With less than ten people. And this wasn’t even the usual Oceanic players, it was “oh lord we’re still getting away with this, but I’d love to go to sleep if they ever fight back” players. This isn’t a rant/chest thump/brag post as much as it is a simple question. We’ve heard the rumors, but holy cow…is it really that bad?

I’d quote some of the crap you guys had to say about IoJ last time we tangled but at this point I’d seem like a bully.

What happened to AR?

The people you’d be quoting would most likely no longer be on the server. Several smaller guilds and solo players and a large guild left the server. We are in the process of rebuilding, so I hope you are enjoying the ultra low population in our sections of the map.

On a fun side note, we will get back on our feet, it’s just going to take some time.

So here I was with 4 other guildies chilling in the SW tower of IOJ BL, looking forward to some fights. IOJ zerg passes by, takes a poke at our tower and comes back with an omega golem. Really, you don’t need a nuke to crack open a walnut :P

Considering the time of this post, I’m going to assume it’s because IoJ and AR fought there for at least an hour earlier. We held off two of your breakouts, with two walls down, AND you were trebbing a breakout tower with 8-10 of us inside defending vs 20+ AR. We lost in the end about an hour or so later, but everyone defending ranked and we had a blast. Plus dem loots.

Just saying, we’re not the only ones using nukes on breakout towers. :P

Here’s hoping to a week without mass disconnects and random boots from our own BL.

When the cache ordeal became available, the puzzle only worked once on Isle of Janthir. So we all Guested over to Yaks and it worked fine as eventually 40 people all piled in trying to get through.

All possible solutions were tried in all sorts of order. We even had a friend who previously completed the puzzle give it a shot, and no love at all. Guesting for the win.

I’m on Isle of Janthir. An insane ammount of people are experiencing repeated / mass disconnects and above average skill lag. Some people are just fine. Some people can play just fine. Some people only last a minute or two and then are disconnected. It’s pretty irritating, and it only happens on our Borderland. A few players from the other servers in our matchup (NSP, HoD) have reported the same thing. Although I’m not positive of the specifics.

Just wondering if Anet was aware or if any other servers are experiencing the same thing? It’d be great if we could play on our own map again without fear of random disconnects.

ANet hates rangers and has perpetually nerfed the crap out of them for the last 8 years.

I still have nightmares of the day I logged in to my Ranger and hit UW for some good old solo trapping as it was so profitable and fun to me for so long. I failed instantly, read the patch notes and immediatly flipped my desk. THAT was a bad day.

If you’re not going to fix the Ranger to the point that they’re accepted in groups again….at least let us UN-soulbind all of the ascended gear we’ve grinded for so we can use it on our new main class. My Ranger is on the shelf. My necro could use some of her stuff though…

I’d love to see some recorded 5v5s set up between NPS and IoJ so IoJ can show once and for all how much better they are than NSP at roaming open field fights.

Everytime I run into the SPCA guys I can’t help but think about previous encounters with the ADNoqqBsty roamers on DR. All really good fights and pug murders.

Which if any would you recommend for WvW? And which armor sets? tys in advance.

Trying to get better with Necro lately since Anet can’t get the Rangers squared away. Wells in zergs are amazing, but looking for something that I could small group roam with.

Phew. You and me both. I thought it was the HARD vs SPCA fight from the other day. That was pretty insane. Someone asked how many people we had, I don’t know for sure as I wasn’t Commanding (Counter was) so I have no idea how many were in the squad. We started off roaming a bit, and picked up a few locals along the way.

You guys can scrap though, thats for sure. Watching that video makes me want to roll Engy now that Anet killed the only version of Ranger I enjoyed playing in WvW. Well done man.

Sidebar: As for the DH stuff, I was honestly under the impression that you guys just got bored and stopped playing WvW (no troll). Last week was the same old DH Domination mode IoJ is so used to. This week is a DH I’ve never seen before. Just figured you guys were taking a break this week to be honest.

I just wish I could un-soulbind all of the amazing gear I grinded for, just to try and make the best out of my Ranger since release. Commander tag included. I’m not even talking about the runes, the armors, the plethora of weapons and sigils. Just the Ascended accessories and the 100g+ backpiece I crafted. All those Guild comms, fractal rings, and infusions…totally wasted.

I’ve tried to be patient, and as resilient as possible with every patch….hoping that something would get better on my favorite class for over 8 years. But no. Now my Ranger is a 9+ month old time/money sink.

Look I’m happy that the LB finally got fixed, but I don’t think the continued SB changes are justified. If I see a Ranger running LB in WvW…he’s going to die. Everyone knows that. Unless they’re defending a keep. Open field LB is BAD compared to pre-patch SB.

The coveted Phantom Catmaster builds are dead now. Rangers are no fun in WvW anymore, at least we can still trap in PvP though.

When the notes “leaked” I power leveled my Necro to 80. Thank the Six. I still have a reason to play WvW without hating changes made to my main class.

Sweet attempts on our Bay & Hills just now DH. Abys and SE galore, we all appreciate the bags. Two hours later and you left us with nothing but sigil stacks & full inventories. Loads of fun.

One Counter Treb wiping all four of yours from behind in open field…then wiping your zerg outside of Bay as you rushed our poor solo Guild Treb…still open field. I need to install Fraps again.

A good attempt, but the fail you demonstrated at Hills was terribad. Build an AC on the bridge vs all of us & 2 door balis in the Lords Room? Brilliant. Or should I say “HODOR”.

All kidding aside it was fun watching you fail at taking anything but a breakout tower with twice as many ppl as we had defending.
