The entire point of the initial suggestion (I was the first to bring the suggestion to NSP, PUBLICLY on the forums) was because IoJ knows what DH is capable of. If they were playing like they soon will be come Monday, it’d be the same scores as last week. DH is insane on the weekdays. So we simply suggested “Hey lets not pick on each other, because DH is gonna do that for us anyhow…let’s just focus them”.

Now other actions (Ehem the SM ninja) made one person extremely mad and the forums spiraled out of control with threats of who’s focusing who when and where. Who’s calling upon Commanders from the other server to help stomp out someone else etc. No one double teamed your server last week. You just lost. That loss I feel is what triggered this post in the first place.

As many people have pointed out, over and over again, Anet encourages the 2 weaker servers teaming up against the Top Spot server in the match. Encourages it. Cheating? No. Smart?

LOL a fight reseter is someone who runs away when they are about to die to gain full hp then come back. and HARD do nothing but that even when they try to kill me with 5 ppl they still end up reseting the fight and then they try to come back and kill me again which again turns into them reseting the fight once again. as i continue to slaughter the other 4 he comes back once again gets focused by me and runs away again then spams laugh. and a Mesmer and a warrior have done this same exact thing in HARD. ask MoW they know exactly wat i mean

Two people out of a 300+ member guild doing it means that everyone does it? If you mean healing up then sure, I believe the majority of every player in the game is guilty. I’m down for NSP and IoJ staying out of each others BL respectively. It worked out fine when we had these agreements in the past (minus the random pug camp flippers that no one can control).

But only having 1 BL to fight over (DH in this case), and 1 corner (DH) + SM on EB….it might get a little bit boring.

My brain ran out of breath reading that but here we go. I’m no sure what a fight reseter is. But I highly doubt 12 people who were actually trying to kill 1 person would fail. Especially from [HARD].

The only person in this match up I’ve ever laughed at were two people from two different servers. 1 a tiny asura from TFG, who ganked me with 6 friends then emote spammed on me for a few minutes. I then spent the next 30 minutes killing him and doing the same. The other is the [SE] Necro from last night at the Sunnyhill Sentry point. If I’m 1v1’ing or roaming I’ll bow out and carry on with my business. Respectfully. I’m not even that upset about it, just a little shocked that someone from [SE] did it. Usually some decent fights there.

If you do it to me fine, but I can assure you I will find you and return the favor.

Great job holding it down all night NSP. Was getting bored so we took some people to check on your map and then 40 or more of you poured out of Bay. That ish was cray.

3v1’ing a necro is fine. You winning is fine. I’m not mad, it’s expected. Me having a friend show up and us successfully 2v3’ing you 3 guys for 30+ minutes as you run in and out of your spawn though? That’s unheard of. Then when your 9+ friends show to back you from who knows how many guilds, and you win….you dance on the corpse of someone you 12v2’d?

As much as people say we don’t roam, or play pvp in wvw then cry about it…sometimes we do. And we’re good at it. But no need to jump, dance, cry, jump on the bodies of someone you couldn’t kill alone.

Clearly we play during entirely different timezones. From NA primetime, until right before the Oceanics got on IoJ we were battling DH from our BL, their BL, and EB. The only big groups hitting NSP most of the time are randoms out to flip camps. IoJ doesn’t play for second. We play to win.

I can assure you the same thing that I assured DR. If there wasn’t a server with close to double our populations….things would be entirely different. DR didn’t think so, and we put them in third as we took first. The bigger server of the three is more worried about ending up anywhere else in the ranking than any of the servers. Clearly that isn’t IoJ or NSP in this match, and you can check the match updates by the hour to see who’kittenting your server the most. It isn’t IoJ my friend. We’re not playing for anything other than to win…

We know that if DH isn’t kept in check they’d have a 100k lead on us by Wednesday. So why would we farm NSP for second when we can farm DH for legit points/badges/AND keep them from having an insane blow out score? We wouldn’t. And we don’t. I can’t speak for the pugs….there’s always going to be randoms doing whatever they want to do. No one can control that lot.

tl;dr~ I’ve never in my daily 4-6+ hour weekday or 12+hour weekend wvw sprees ever seen someone say “Uh oh, we need some points. Lets go hit whoever is in third place’s BL, take their stuff in EB & bank on that for points”. Never. It’s get what’s ours back, and thoroughly punish whoever is most responsible for farming us for points. No one gets to first by sitting in second and picking on third place. Think about it.

A furious small man group hopping walls that havent had gates drop in 6 or so hours (So no mesmer could possibly be there) and storming a Lord and taking fully upgraded keeps is totally a gentlemans engagement? In/and around 60 seconds or so?

The only reason DH has a single bit of respect from anyone is not just your population (the few most noted guilds that give us good fights), but that every time someone posts proof here to the other servers….Mods delete the entire posts instead of doing something about it. No one sees it. Until they play against you.

This matchup I haven’t seen the same old crazy AC range DH was notoriously abusing in our past matchups. I don’t know if that’s from Anet doing something about it, or from DH policing up their own servers. Either way. It’s great to no longer see it. But the third party stuff needs a fix. It’s happened more than once this match. And I’m sure any form of proof has been forwarded off to where it needs to be sent.

If we don’t handle it amongst ourselves we’re going to end up with some 3rd party false-positive ban hammering nonsense like Punkbuster.

If you know people are doing it, report them. No matter what server they’re on.

Aside from that minor rant, that probably wont be here the next time I check the forums, it’s been a heck of a match. Loads of fun. Even more fun than when DR was here instead of NSP. But IoJ smashed them into third proper like not too long ago. NSP you guys are a respectable opponent. Good games so far, best of luck until friday.

An entire server isn’t to blame for the actions of a few. But it’d be cool if we could all enter match ups knowing it was based on skills alone. Not downloaded assistance if you will.

t it seems that IoJ’s Oceanics did some great things last night.

It was an eventful evening. Highlights include holding SM for most of the night which kept DH busy. NSP holding their keep on EB, so we went to their BL for a Legendary feint. Took their hills, then hit the garrison and sac’d golems at the Lord’s room. If we would have took it great, if NSP came to defend (which they did in force) even better. That left NSP’s keep wide open on EB. Which is what we wanted. And we received shortly after.

As for the QQ about emotes on bodies…it’s not that serious. I made a new friend last night with a tiny /laugh spamming NSP Asura from [TFG]. He and 5 friends ganked me, and he laughed his tail off on my dead body. Fine. That gave me something to do for the next half hour. Found him, smashed him, and did the same thing to him. Even OD’d on candy to vomit a little. Mates on TS heard about it, and did the same to the player who started it all. It turned in to a mini event for us. Fun, fun.

Don’t like it? Get even. Simple.

All in all, it’s a good match. Far better than our last matchup.

we know that 1st manipulates who gets 2nd…so we’re not playing for 2nd. We’re going for the big dog (dat’s you) and for the most part, nobody else. It’s not perfect, people will still do what they want, but most commanders on IoJ would rather hit the big dog.

It worked last week, and almost worked the last two weeks we were against DH…but SF wanted to chase our keeps and towers instead of DH’s. I guess they didn’t “get it”. IoJ was picked on long enough to know the feeling of being “that server” so we’d rather go for the bigger of the challenges most of the time. No matter who we’re against.

Having two mid sized servers hitting the biggest of the three servers makes for a kitten good matchup, for all servers. Everyone benefits in one way or another.

Dansey Pants! Tell Jela I’ll be looking for him. We have a score to settle from the last IoJ/SBI matchup. Haven’t been able to play yet as work has stole half of my weekend from me, but I was checking scores regularly and SBI definitely has a hell of a better Oceanic crew than the last time we bumped heads. Which is good. Now IoJ might stop getting called the “Nightshift PVDoor Zerg” and see some good fights and less name calling.

Also a big hello to the rest of my old IoJ friends on SBI! Looking forward to putting some arrows in your necks :P

Much respect in return. As a commander, and a die-hard IoJ’r I shouldnt have been such a pridemonger, but again….dat history. You guys are awesome. I still second guess myself and any group I’m running with when I see the triple threat from DR tags in red on my screen. Luckily…doing better than being in third has its perks.

As for HARD, we’re proud of anything the server accomplishes. As for GEN, Starkk and the Aussie bros they’re just as proud. What some people don’t understand is that these guys stuck it out when everyone abandoned the server and have be struggling ever since. The feud & fate of DR being against IoJ for so long hasn’t helped. But gloating happens. You guys are beasts in your own rights. You murked us for too many months in a row. Honestly, seeing DR fall so far so quick and losing like this is a surprise to me…but I honestly, sincerely want to tell the WvW community there…..stick it out. And when your server rises again you’ll be thinking and maybe even gloating on the forums like old Crimmy. Proud as hell. Except my alcohol tolerance is better. I wish you lot luck in the next match, and I hope you crazy guys take out any anger you have on the new matchup…hopefully we meet again sooner than later.

All of DR went into this match up knowing we couldn’t win due to our poor night coverage, anyone who did was fooling themselves.

I wish i could be bothered to go find all those threads where DR said they were going to stomp us, those people are the reason im like this on the forums, im just glad we finally got to show DR how strong we actually are without a powerhouse server, but its now obvious DR will always find a reason to try and put our server down one way or another and my forum ranting will stop after this week

Despite my random chest thumping, I’ll revert to humble IoJness. You guys in NoqqADBsty have always been a hell of a threat from DR. I have the utmost respect for you all. Be it only AD, only Bsty, or just NoQQ…it’s always interesting. I know some of you took a break for a bit after the NSP incidents, but I’ll go out on a limb and say if you all were in full force things might have been a little different. Maybe. I don’t know. But I know when DR used to dominate IoJ…the few oceanic bros I ran with would spam red flags as to where/when/how many of you were, if ever spotted.

You guys used to literally scare the crap out of pugs….informed pugs the most. Not patronizing a bit at all here. If you all take the high road and stick it out in DR you’ll be Legendary if not already (as a post exodus IoJ’r I hope you do). You’re awesome players, very organized & very much a threat. If you were to branch out and teach the masses I’d be very afraid of DR.

I only say used to because I’ve yet to see more than 10 of you in a group this matchup. You used to roll your own mini zerg. Either way, I say it all out of respect. It’s been a blast playing against you guys because it’s been well known that you are indeed a challenge.

My only excuse for being a tool in this thread is simple, DR has in the past been tools towards us on IoJ….a lot. Whatever happened to you guys, stick it out. You’ll recover eventually. If IoJ can, you can too. Bottom line is, a lot of us have wanted to beat DR for a long….long time. And it happened. So it’s over as far as I’m concerned. Hell you beat us out of how many tiers? Implications? The only implications I’m concerned with is who IoJ is up against next.

I don’t need charts and graphs for excuses.

The underlining point here is simply this; DR has trolled/farmed/belittled IoJ long enough with excuses, videos (Remember when Noqq/AD/Bsty posted all the silly video intro posts to a video of you farming half empty servers that have now ceased?), and berated IoJ for long enough that the bros have been blessed with the matchup of our dreams.

AND DR IS LOSING! Where’s the videos? The “plays for second” excuses for being under us? The “hides behind the big server” reasons for DR placing under IoJ on the scoreboard?

Nada. None. No reason. Resiliency reigns supreme. It doesn’t matter how much gold people on IoJ spend, how much they make, when they spend it, or how much they dump into a losing match in wvw. We’ve done it for MONTHS. Half a year almost. Mostly against DR. AND LOST. Match after match. All the while with DR posting BS videos, trolling the forums, and thinking whatever you want to think.

Now. IoJ is beating you. And we’re not relying on the third place/empty/under populated/least coverage server to do it.

How many matches has IoJ had against DR? How many times did DR run mouths about beating IoJ getting kicked out of a tier? DR outlasted and beat IoJ against servers listed in previous post. IoJ always dropped tiers before DR met their eventual demise…with no outmanned server to farm points off of like they do now against FC.

The only time anyone ever cried about the Oceanic (Forever IoJ) presence, and the 4-6 hour coverage gap was when IoJ put DR in third.

So you’re telling me. That out of 24 hours in a day, IoJ is winning because of DR not having an Oceanic presence?

When IoJ & DR finally dropped low enough in the tiers, against weaker servers, the oceanic presence made ALL of the difference? Because when IoJ finally outlasted DR in a tier…since December…and DR dropped to T7…is because of those few minute hours?

It’s Wednesday. Reset was Friday. 45k+ lead. Because of those few hours? Amirite?

Five days. Six hours at most (being generous) per night means 30 hours since reset. 45,000+ point lead. DR rarely being outmanned as shown more than once (from an oceanic player: more by FC than IoJ)…that’s where the lead came from? After all this time coming in third…suddenly IoJ is winning because of this?

Also, weekdays…as pointed out earlier…DR farming the 3rd place server with zero presence for points.

I love how condescending someone can be when they’re being so transparently passive-aggressive. Supplicating FC is about all IoJ can do, but it shouldn’t be difficult, you’ve done that for every other server that shared a matchup with us, right?

Condescending? Transparent? On no sweet pants. If you’d done you’re homework you’d know how much anger IoJ has for DR.

The difference between our anger, and any other anger on a server is that the angry people here are the ones that stuck it out. We’ve been here a while. Most since beta. Read the rest of the posts. Read the other threads. Do some homework. We didn’t jump ship on free transfers to the “winning servers”. We stuck it out to make the best of what remained. There’s a very, very good reason that we’re all as close as we are. Tier 1 server…to T6 random matchup. All the while getting farmed by DR. As we had the lesser people…but the most heart. Are you following yet?

If you still feel the urge to patronize, put yourself in the shoes of someone who’s been belittled (see what I did there guys) by DR for a very long time. Multiply that by a few hundred. Still in those shoes? I hope so. Then you’ll be as motivated as IoJ is.

As far as Suplicating…lol. Read the above. Most of the players on IoJ want you (DR) to lose in every sense of the word. To the extent that some of us (IoJ) would flip anything DR takes from FC, and hand it right back to FC without defending it. And a courtesy “get it, we’re gone”. At this point…you don’t deserve the points anymore.

Done it against any server we’ve been against together? Yea. Sure. We helped EB,SBI, Zergumma, DH, SF, AR, etc win. Are you new here?

Lets have some fun. Make it so Anet. SF hates IoJ for “playing for second” and I’m sure DR has a bit of disdain for SF taking their spot in T6. DR/IoJ is pretty much like a divorce gone terribly wrong. Those three together would melt a server. But it would be equal enough to be fun for all.

You don’t understand Oozo? Reference 90% of the posts from our past matches over the course of 5-6 months with DR people curb stomping IoJ on the forums to see why it matters. It may not matter to you, or those posting may only care because they were winning. But all the “ioj plays for second” or “Ioj hides behind the mega server in 1st place” crap is out the window. And 99% of the time that was DR’s excuse for being in third vs IoJ (as rare as it may have been).

Regardless as to the truth in any of the past remarks, the things said about IoJ clearly mattered to the players on IoJ.

Otherwise….you might just be in…dare I say it…first.

It’s DR vs IoJ as far as most of us are concerned. Lets flip through the other 6 pages and see how many screenshots show IOJ flipping anything FC owned. Please? There’s what? One or maybe two where we even dipped into FC’s corner on EB. Maybe the same of IoJ taking FC BL? Whereas between the point in time that I posted to beloved FC, DR has already retaken half of the scoreboard on FC BL, keeps, towers, and camps combined, while working on another keep. You have a couple camps (roamers I know) on IoJ.

Again, who’s yet again capitalizing on the “lowbie population” server? DR is. Same as you’ve done to us for almost half of a year.

For a server that plays for second, and has earned the majority (READ: and I do mean Majority) of our points from DR….the last 6 months of KITTEN DR has had to say about IOJ….We’re doing pretty kitten good with that 45k lead. Not bad for trying for second eh? We don’t even bother with FC unless quiet frankly the natives get a bit out of control.

And even if you do beat FC, I pray to the six that they rally their tails off to slap you out of second in the upcoming days. If you do beat them out for second…well….DR plays for second. And at least everyone else knows it.

We’re not reflipping what DR owned for the points, honestly we don’t need them. We’re doing it so you can have them back. And DR gets no credit. They did the same thing to us many months upon months (hiding from the threat and farming the 3rd place defenseless server), so we’ve decided to return the favor…in our own way. Preventing them from holding it all night, and getting it back to the rightful owners who may normally be a little worried about even trying. Anyone in a server in such a position who has the gonads to even try to WvW, deserves a bit of credit. IoJ has been there and done that. You guys have your BL back now. Good. DR doesnt. And you can beat them. We gain nothing from doing this, other than seeing their points drop, and yours rise.

I won’t name names, but I’ve notified a FC player or two. Yes we took your stuff, that DR had already took. But you may kindly have it back. For the points. You can pull out of this deficit. IoJ has done it more than I can count. For those involved, yea…we remember. No we wont forget. But we’re not gonna be tools about it and watch DR crush the morale of a server with a significantly lower population like they did to us when they couldn’t beat the first place server (EB, SBI. Mag, DH, AR, SF, etc). Hell…I won’t even say you’re welcome. We know they do it. Ask Belittled.

We admire the heart, tenacity, and relentlessness of FC. You’re not snotty on the forums (IoJ may be guilty of that, but we have our reasons), you’re not /emote spamming everytime you 5v1 someone and win, you’re not crying this that or the other. You guys are the most respectful bros we’ve ever been against. And it’s real crappy to know that if DR isn’t checked, they’ll depend on FC for points. The"FC Emmisary" who came on to TS reset night to thank us for an awesome match on behalf of FC bros…that’s the coolest and most respectful thing I’ve ever seen in GW2. In other news, our favorite spectator is back. 6 months of auto heals in our waypoints, with a brief hiatus while DR dropped to t7. Suddenly, a wild Belittled appears!

What I implied is that quiet frankly…IoJ has waited patiently for a chance against DR without a mega server in the mix, and now we have it. So of course we went straight for you on reset. All the while FC had their own BL for most of the night, without anyone on IoJ even considering hitting them….until boredom set it. Know why? Four plus months of DR talking crap about IoJ. Once we were done flipping DR, we poked a bit at FC. And took their keep. Not the map. Just the keep. Then we left.

Don’t take it persona….nevermind. Do take it personal. Clearly the people on IoJ have. And of course, have clearly made DR the primary target.

Sorry our NA players aren’t up to par vs your superior golem rushes. Sorry your Oceanic’s aren’t up to par vs IoJ. But you don’t see the IoJ Oceanics calling you NA lads Night Shift (See what I did there? We’re sleeping while you’re doing your thing). No. We don’t need to call names. We just compromise. And make the best of the situation. And by best…I mean really frickin good. Contrary to popular belief DR does have a Oceanic presence….FC has an even bigger one. However…that’s IoJ’s claim to fame. My issue with Ioj is pretty simple…

I know of exactly 2 players that dont run in groups of 5-10(during my time to play), its a mes thief combo from Hard I believe… kudos to them for doing so… be nice if I could get a 1 on1 from them when nothing is going on, mes would still beat me (havent figured out how to beat that class since I dont really have burst) I think the thief would be fun fight though.

Other than thats I get zerged constantly till I have to join a zerg to have a chance at a fight… I hate fighting in a zerg its just not that fun most nights.

Oh and the obnoxious arrogant night shifters (that post here) that love to brag about capping our map after we’ve gone to sleep… we both know DR has a large population disadvantage after a certain time… you have better coverage you will win this week… when we have even numbers points are usually close…

The lack of small numbers fights, coupled with the obnoxious night shift makes fighting Ioj about as enjoyable as a root canal.

I play for enjoyment not to crush people or “WIN” the game, or prove how big my kitten is.

Thats about all I have to say on the matter I know IOJ has many good people and skilled players but the above makes me not care… didnt help last night having 5 tornados on the ground and 9 inches rain in 3 hours kept me stressed.

The mesmers however would be HARD to narrow down. As we love our scouting portal bombers. Beware of Sir Toady. Demerz is a beast too. Oh and Saywra. A few others as well.

But please, for the sake of honesty…stop implying that DR is vacant during Oceanic hours.You guys and gals were outmanned maybe twice last night. Both DR and FC held their Keeps more than once last night. I’d venture to say that FC may have had more people than DR at one time, but it wasn’t for very long. And we ran many, many flip teams on all maps for the precious solid blue map screenshots. We always do. We always have scouts everywhere, and we communicate extremely well. We have many, many roamers. Darkhaven taught us a valuable lesson with the 30 second window of tearing through a gate before the swords pop. There’s a reason DH accused IoJ of spying on them…it’s not because they have a troll on their map…it’s because IoJ has eyes everywhere. And we respond in force.

DR outlasted IoJ against EB, SBI, Zerguuma and a few others when we where together up in t4/t5 (can’t remember if it was t4 or not) but you guys stuck it out with the bigger servers while we made our way to t6. Then you dropped to t7. Be it on purpose or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is the insane amount of crap DR talked back then about IoJ. Month after month. The tables have turned…and now we’re the jerks? Sorry but I do believe we have earned the right.

We’ve always liked fighting you guys, but the “IoJ plays for second/IoJ hides behind the mega server and picks on whoever is left” crap is out the window. Now it’s us. At last. Your NA will prolly roll our NA during the week. But don’t QQ because you all “go to sleep” at the same time and we dont. IoJ has been a Oceanic/SEA server since Beta.

Both servers deserve this match. So let’s just enjoy it.

Caveat @ Ooz: The timestamp in my screenies are server time. I’m in Hawaii. Who wants to get up at 6am to spawnlock DR? I like sleep. Use the timestamps to note your weakest times. That’s what I’d do, instead of calling names.

Whatever happens, I’ve always said DH deserves a better match up. No one likes being farmed for badges (IoJ when DH & DR were in this tier). And I think you guys moving on in life would be great for your server. All of our servers really. Whatever happens…good games. Best of luck. We’re all gonna need it depending on how this system works out.

Darkhaven bringing the pain! Why you no like 2nd place?!

Isle of Janthir is the place to be. We tumbled from the upper tiers, and have finally found a pretty decent matchup with SF, and the bigger of the three servers Darkhaven. Our oceanic presence is unstoppable, but our NA needs some improvement as we can’t compete with numbers like DH has. Still, we’re a lovable bunch. Big time PVE presence on the server, a troll here and there…but all in all (and through it all) we’re imho the most resilient server out there.

Getting trapped in t7/t8 like SF is one thing. But losing 80% of your wvw players and struggling month after month against mega servers as we slowly fell through the tiers…and still giving it 110%…that takes heart. And IoJ has it.

For the screencap you posted, Crimson, I wasn’t there and I don’t speak for everyone on my server but I would have built an AC in that exact spot. Why? Because there is a gap in the door where you can see over the door to hit any AC’s/ballistas behind the door, including on that bridge, and near the supply depot roof and with range, to the lord’s room as well.

Correct me if I am wrong (seriously), but I thought that screenshot was of Blue Keep SE(going from memory) outer wall, which would have made that siege actually at a wall not a door. Or are you referring to the inner door?

Blue Keep in SE corner (IoJ keep on EB) indeed. There isn’t a door there on the outer wall. They were focusing fire to get that wall down over and over, but the siege was hitting all the way to our inner, right to the supply spawn and no further (I was on our arrow cart at the supply spawn for at least 15 minutes clearing out the few DH that got inside, once our wall was back up I went after the siege).

Original post was deleted. Apparently I was accusing someone of something. Sad really, it was a good write up. I’m not accusing anyone of anything, just pointing out my observations. After DH was successfully pushed out of our corner, it seemed you guys just gave up. You could have stormed the keep and probably had it if you tried. Four outer walls down, and two inner at one point….and you guys never fully pushed in. Tisk tisk.
