We’re try-hards. We’ve been through A LOT worse. The amount of money IoJ has thrown at inevitably lost upgrades, siege, and repairs would probably blow minds. I’m sure Anet loves it. But we don’t mind. IoJ is the fighting server. We’re like the splinter in your finger that you just cant seem to get out. A little irritating at times, but bump it just right and the real pain sets in. Pain that you can’t get to go away.

In all honesty we just love to have fun. And it’s a really AMAZING feeling to see so many people more than happy to join WvW and learn it because we’re doing alright for once. Once in more than four months.

We have our decent weeks, and we have our bad weeks. This has been our first REALLY FRICKIN GOOD WEEK since December.

So thank you all for the good games.

God I missed Belittled already.

He’s been offline since DR allegedly threw the match to drop a tier (seems to be working out well for them /end_sarcasm). Either from the extensive 4 months worth of screenshots presented to Anet in the ticket, or because it costs too much to transfer just to afk & auto-heal at the enemy wp’s all day.

Karma may require some work to get, but when it makes its way around…it can be a capital B. /laff

We’re not that low mate. Check our history, if IoJ was savvy to any tactic like that I think we would’ve done it back in t2….not 5 months later after we tumbled and finally stabilized in t6. 3/4 of IoJ Commanders work together and/or talk to each other on a regular basis. After what we’ve had to deal with in the past with the same suspicions, I can assure you that none of the Commanders or major WvW guilds would ever consider something so sloppy.

Take screenshots, build your album, file a ticket. Four months of in game tickets did nothing, a single ticket on this site fixed the problem quick.

Srsly though, good games. I wish we could get DH somewhere they “belong” and have a SF/DR/IoJ matchup. Not sure about the servers stomping on DR in t7, but it’d be nice to have a more even matchup. Population based matchups is what I’m getting at I guess.

Good game tonight at DH Bay, had a blast defending “our” corner, and taking Bay eventually. Sure we could have pulled a golem bomb and hastened the process. But why do that when we’re having so much fun fighting off both servers?

Good games all. For us on IoJ, best matchup in a while. As for the Isle of Darkhaven nonsense…hahaha. 2/3rds of EB was blue reset night, and the other 1/3rd was red. Two weeks in a row. Except last week we took all of DH’s keeps on their BL. Get with the program SF. DH is the threat, not IoJ. We leave you kids alone for a reason (HINT: IoJ walks all over SF during the weekdays)….I guess you need a tutorial?

Why? Lack of Ego Storm elitists.

Why? Lack of hour long queues.

Why? We didn’t jump ship and transfer to a “winning” server. We stuck it out, and it’s paid off.

Why? Not seeing new Commanders give it a shot, and get raged because they’re new. But given respect/tips/advice for spending 100g to take the heat for an entire servers decisions.

Why? WvW isn’t a job. It’s for fun.

Why? Did I mention egos?

Why? Even (eventually after you tumble through tiers) matchups.

Why? Skill matters more than how many people are in your lag inducing zerg.

Why? WvW tryhards who think they’re entitled to dictate how everyone else plays a game. And any argument is invalid due to guild affiliation, rank, or Commander status.

TL;DR.

Every time I see a post that starts with “To the _Servername_Player” I skip it. You guys wonder why IoJ is quiet on the forums? It’s because you all talk enough. There is no alliance. Just a Harhar Troll guild. IoJ has been struggling long enough to earn a moment of fun I think, rolling from t1 down to this (thanks anet & the transfew debacle). IoJ didn’t work together with DR in what t4? Or was it 3? 5? I dont remember. But we couldn’t come together against the mega servers then, don’t get silly and think we’d do it now with SF and/or DH depending on the conspiracy theorist. IoJ is chillin down here in this tier. Just some bros having fun. That’s all.

Before you take offense, I will say that I appreciate the match up. Don’t mind Starkk. He’s a good lad. And sadly for most of you not on IoJ, Starkk has 99% of the Pacific players at his bidding. Call it pvdooring if you must. I call it “defend more, and stop expecting us to only take the keeps/towers you occupy”. IoJ is and always will be the Oceanic server. Sorry. Just the way it is.

You guys are a blast. Don’t be silly with the server alliance nonsense. There isn’t one. We hit DH just as much as SF. We’re just a little more tactical about what we do as we don’t roll HUDURZURGs. Just some dudes, playing as other dudes, and dudes playing as chicks as real life dudes, that drink beer.

We’re here for fun. I hope you all are too. We’re effing sick of servers with 3x our population. This match has been the best in over 4 months for IoJ in terms of “lol”.

Good games. Have a laugh. We don’t cry about your primetimes rolling our maps, so stop crying about oceanics rolling yours. It’s sad. We haven’t been in first place since January. And we don’t really care. We’re in it for the fun. And this last week has been pretty dang fun.

Reset canceled because a ton of players were crying about it on this forum. Most of them are the same that are crying about the cancelation today.

Prolly because they migrated to servers that they thought would most benefit..either them or the server in general. To each his own motive. Either way, I wish none of them ill will. Good for you, you jumped ship and landed somewhere you thought you belonged, and maybe even made a difference. Good for you. The die hard server players suffered though. Some of us have a bit more pride than jumping straight to a “winning” server. Struggle is half of the battle, coming out on top in the middle of the struggle is more rewarding than anything. Accepting your fate as an abandoned server, and tumbling from somewhere you earned being, into an endless loop of losses until you find a place you can handle….all because of the “system” though…it’s plain torture.

I reported a player for autohealing/afking in WvW for over 4 months. I even had zergs report the players when we’d WP back near him. He followed our commanders/zergs from map to map. Loads of evidence that it was a player will ill intent.

FOUR MONTHS of reporting. Finally just made a timestamped album of screenshots, filed an actual support ticket. It’s been handled. I recommend you filing a legit ticket if not already. Posting here, and ingame reporting has proved BEYOND ineffective. Best of luck to you.

I’m truly happy Anet is addressing this, and I hope servers get some much overdue love as far as rankings are concerned. I’ve been on Isle of Janthir since Beta…and we were stuck in t1-t3 and then slowly descended in the ranks against servers with 5x the manpower we had. All because of the pay to transfer ordeal, and being stuck against the same two servers for a month or two. Sure we held our own against most for a week or two, but at one point in time we had six (READ: SIX) Commanders on IoJ that regularly Commanded in WvW. From January all the way into March-ish. Because everyone left. Then our population began to grow again mid-march.

Being a t1/t2 server for a month or two, and then losing a lot of your WvW population shouldn’t mean that you have to struggle tier after tier after tier (loss, after loss, after loss) until you find a tier you can hold your own in. We (IoJ) are finally in a tier we can at least have some fun in…even if it is T6.

Anet addressing this issue is great. I hope they fix it soon. Population migrations are detrimental to a server in both WvW & PVE (dem bonuses). Anet saying “Hey we’re gonna start charging you for transfers, and then reset rankings” but never resetting the rankings has taken its toll. I’m happy to see some attention to the “stuck in a tier we can’t handle at the moment” issue. And I wish you guys in T1 the best. Been there, done that. The issue is that Anet has not come right out and said using things like gZoom (look it up on youtube, thats how I found out about it) are against the ToS (at least to my, and others, knowledge).

If someone has access to where they say this is a bannable offense, it would really help my case on this.

If in fact it is all the SAB zoom bug. If it’s 3rd party, well..we already know Anet wouldn’t let that slide. WvW isn’t being played as intended, and it’s superceeding the entire design of the WvW maps and siege by letting the players do something other than what was intended by the designers.

Hell…if they’re going to ban people for the release karma merchant issues, and snowflake flipping…I wouldn’t be surprised.

For the most part IoJ has remained quiet (minus my 1 drunken banter post) as we’re pretty tied up doing whatever we can.

I’ve been here since beta. IoJ plays for second? Who wouldn’t when you’re getting stomped into the ground by a meta server with 3x the WvW population? For months on end? If you say not I, you’re a liar. DR and IoJ have bumped heads for a few months now, we’ve been up against some pretty beast servers…so I can understand the frustration. We know our strengths. And we do what we can with what we have. Simple as that.

As for the mention of every server having zoombots, I’m in regular contact with every Commander on this server minus 2-3. And there’s quiet a few. If we’re not in WvW together, we at least chat on the sidelines…but I’ve never heard a single player in IoJ even mention using the SAB exploit. And that’s a fact. We’re pretty noble guys and gals, and even through the nonsense…we wouldn’t stoop that low. Especially if we were winning. Just wanted to clear that up.

Whatever happens from here is all on the points scale. I wish you all the best of luck and I’m sure we’ll meet again eventually. It’s been fun to say the least.

If it comes to t7 for IoJ….we’ll probably be even quieter on the forums..lol.

DR never has the numbers to take anything from IoJ in EB, save for your T1 towers, and during our horrible off-hours if IoJ doesn’t take out stuff then the other server will anyway.

I guess you missed the part where our entire BL turned blue in roughly 20-30 minutes while DH did everything but steal overlook in EB. Defending, defending, defending…wait our map is gone?

Guess I need to start a whole new complaint thread on the DR spy. As 40+ reports day after day do nothing to change a thing. Dude was on DR BL for over 24 hours….and never moved.

Suddenly a wild spybot appears on IoJ BL’s while DH is beating us into the ground on EB….and our map turns blue within 20 minutes.

I’m not placing blame on anyone. I’m not saying anything bad about any server, except….DH you’re delusional if you think you cant hang in a higher tier. We’ve been there, and you guys are putting up more of a fight 24/7 than SBI or EB. Fact. What I am saying is that after watching this kid, and taking screenshots at least twice a day everytime he’s online (and reporting him, check the logs Anet) nothing has been done and no one is being held accountable. And that’s nonsense.

hawkster.2607 is the spybot that’s present whenever we have DR in our tier. It just sits there running the same script over and over so it doesn’t get logged out. The account has been reported for botting dozens of times and ANET just ignores it. Pretty pathetic.

As a DR player, I am very sorry to hear about this. I agree that it is a pathetic thing to do.

However, it will be only relaying information to a certain group/guild. I’ve never seen someone giving out insider info while in WvW – and if I did I would report them instantly.

He slipped up one night and popped his guild tag while he was afk. It was [Lawl]. I’ve been taking screenshots of dude in WvW for months. Reporting as well. We even trolled him by dropping all commander tags, /squadchat mode so nothing important was in /m. Spammed false info about jumping to other BL’s, and sure enough he followed before too long thinking that’s where we all went and immediately hid off to the side. He’s been afk in DR Borderlands for the past 7 hours.

Hell….he’s always afk. Hiding off to the side somewhere. Two months straight (we found out about this when it was IOJ/DR/EB then SBI took over EB’s spot), dude has earned a grand total of 3 achievement points since then. The week or two we (IoJ) lasted against AR before DR dropped down, Hawkster/Lazeruth was never online. Ever. As we weren’t against DR. Now we’re back against DR….suddenly a wild spybot appears.

Just saying. There’s a thread on the IoJ forums. and I have dated screenshots of him since back when DR/IoJ were playing in T5.

I’m not pointing fingers at anyone, anywhere. But if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it isn’t an elephant.

That’s what our (IoJ) forums are for. We advertise it, and some people come…but not as many as we need. Especially the major WvW guilds. There may only be a few of us, but we coordinate a lot more than most people realize. How else could so few of us be so effective? lol

Gotta say this has happened to me at least 4-5 times. Dropping back from SAB to Rata doesn’t fix it. Relogging does. Seems to only happen on the first stage in SAB.

I was skeptical at first, but upon giving it a shot in WvW I have to admit that it is a blast. Very fun change of pace for Rangers who have never ran a BM build.

There’s something a few of you seem to fail to understand about IoJ. We’ve slowly tumbled from t1 all the way down to where we sit now. After at least 80% of our WvW players jumped ship to the “easy win” servers due to losing week after week…we’ve done nothing but fight.

DR was there with us against EB & SBI (can I get a witness). And we’re still going above and beyond to hold our own. To say that we went to DR and turned the map red for an easy win, is basically designating yourself the resident crybaby.

Night after night there’s been a handful of us roflstomping zergs triple our size.

And no one is “complaining” about the number of people DH has. Some of you say you don’t have that many, but you do have the 24/7 coverage….that alone is our (IoJ) only issue. Trust me, we love the mindless Duuuuuh zergs throwing badges at us for free all night.

If you have an issue with IoJ tactics though, feel free to jump on over to the most resilient server in the game…and improve on what we already have going for us. There is no easy win, easy fight, or easy points for IoJ. Anyone who says that is spending too much time running back and forth from the repair merch and getting wiped by the same 5 ppl all night. I wouldn’t wish our position on my worst enemy. It has been a really, really tough two months. But judge away if you must. We haven’t been in second place since the last time we were against DR though (fact). So thanks for that Devona’s. Our server needed the morale boost.

IoJ is full of survivors. People that will not quit. Boohoo if a few of us decide to boast about a good night on the forums for once. At least we’re not spam bombing your chat with /dance nonsense every time we get a kill (super classy DH). IoJ struggling & putting numbers on the board? AND being happy about it? Shame on us! It’s been nothing but a struggle for IoJ for the past few for months. Don’t get kitten y because you (DR) dropped tiers and found yourself in third place…trust me…IoJ knows the feeling. We won’t stop fighting, we won’t stop spawning, and we won’t stop flipping anything we want when we want to flip it. IoJ doesn’t /ragequit. We resupply, and act accordingly. That won’t change.

God DuR, how i missed the way you hit us when we try and attack the strongest server, even though it was a poor attempt at an attack on Anz, it caused us to lose our foothold in DH’s corner…if only you put pressure on the other side we could have made them break, but nope!

And may i say that was a nice golem rush by DH on our keep, nearly had me quit WvW for the day, disappointed that we didnt scout that at all.

Pro gate golem loss DH… or should we just call it a blueprint as it was never built? You guys have the numbers, but your late night tactics qualify you for handicap parking (sorry, it’s true). This was right after we stole Durios and Umber, both of which were camped with 2 ballistas versus 10-15+ of yas running in catching touchdown passes from our seige. With 4-5 IoJ players snatching up dem loot bags.

A DH commander once told me we’d never own our own borderlands again after what the IoJ night shift did to you guys….shame on him (Rina Latrix). I can’t wait to see what the weekdays hold.

IoJ is thin. And I mean thin as far as wvw numbers are concerned. But after a month or more against EB and SBI, 10 of us can handle 30+ of DH. DR had a lot to say when we dropped tiers, hopefully now they realize how screwed up the tiers are considering going straight from 3rd place in t5 to third place in t6. You guys on DH get it together and you’ll be something to be afraid of. Until then…free badges to the outmanned IoJ.

All in all after over thirteen hours of WvW and luring the oh so shy PVE’rs into the maps, I have to say I haven’t seen spirits this high on IoJ in a very long time. Last night was some of the most hilarious, and stressful times I’ve had on a reset in quiet a while. I think largely in part to not one of the servers being the overwhelming force (nice change of pace), most players stayed until they couldn’t anymore.

Having DH and the BURN guys treb our outter Bay wall to pieces and having to retreat to the inner walls, only to watch two cannons and sharks wipe the incoming hoard was the highlight of my day (now and forever known as the “Sharks & Cannons incident”). Great match-up so far.

While we had fun against DR so long ago, welcome to a tier you (and us on IoJ) should’ve been in a long time ago. Instead of slaving against SBI & EB week after week, there’s actually an equal bit of challenge now. Something we on IoJ hope is a bit more manageable for us all. Lets face it DH, AR needed to move up. This should be the most interesting and fun match IoJ has had in a long time.

As long as [RED] and/or the new (?) sister guild [Blue] aren’t still pulling the super jump nonsense they did in the past.

Please, bring back (from gw1) the template save/load ability. A lot of us play PvE. A lot play WvW. A lot play PvP. Depending on the zone, gametype, enemy type etc, our builds & trait lines all differ. Please implement or re-implement the ability to simply click and reset it all. Taking into account of course, that trainers can simply reset your trait lines for a small fee….re-streamline it a bit. To where we can save and reload “builds” on the fly for the same small fee but have the ability to pre-load everything at the click of a button again. I’m sure most of us wouldn’t mind it.

Second: please implement some form of Commander only text chat. Not all Commanders get along. Not all Commanders want to jump to and fro, from guild based TS/Mumble/Raidcall/Vent servers to be on a server based VoiP service. And sometimes there are a ton of Commanders and/or players online and when the aforementioned services are used, it can become a bit of a cluster.

Sometimes the Commanders aren’t on the same level of communication and tend to bump heads. Undermine each others decisions and quiet literally confuse all of the WvW players looking for guidance. This small implementation would help the Commanders keep any quarrels undetected, and work things out amongst themselves instead of bumping heads in front of entire servers. They shouldn’t all have to /whisper each other to accomplish this. They’re busy! And for 100G they deserve their own chat lines. Not too many use /team or /squad as it is. Help em out a bit. They deserve it.

Thank you in advance, if you actually take any of this into consideration. Seven plus years in the GW game and I can honestly say you (Dev/admin team) have never shown as much effort into improving the game as you have as of late.
