Do you consider sylvari to have homosexual relationships? They are technically gender neutral, so that may be a bit complicated. Other then them I believe Kas and Jory are the only couple in the game that share a homosexual relationship.
I can understand the zerging type content, and would like a break from it myself. On one hand it has created some really interesting content, like the marionette. I praise Anet for that event by requiring an almost full map to complete it, and also individual skill from players as well. I’d like more solo type content though, or small group, for a time at least.
As for your comments on being the HERO, I agree and disagree. I like being the person who acts like a hero from time to time, but I’m used to, and I think many other people are used to, taking it too far. Too often in games we as players are the heroes of EVERYTHING. I find it kind of sickening to be the hero of every single incident that happens in the game, and I love playing it from the perspective of a realistic character, that won’t always be present during some things, or won’t always take the credit for every challenge completed. It gives NPCs some character when they are not all bowing before you, and instead have shown some competence themselves.
but, but, that makes no sense!
reset used to be at 4 pm. if it’s now at 5, and I had to set my clocks ahead 1 hour, and reset is now at 5 pm, then server time didn’t change at all; only my time did.
Same idea when the clocks all went back an hour. Anet didn’t change their in game clock.
I got a recipe that was worth a little bit over 4 gold, and another recipe that was a little less than 1 gold, but that was it for the unique loot for me, but I haven’t had the chance to do the event as much as I wanted to.
I think Lion’s Arch will be back in the next update. It will of course look quite different, but I believe all the services will at least be back. I quite loved how this happened. It gave this feeling that no where in the game is it completely safe and unchanging, but the world continues no matter what you do.

I agree that it’s frustrating when you’re trying to do an event that requires many players in order to complete, or to get the achievement. I get frustrated too when players are afk, or not waypointing when they die, or over crowd a single knight so they aren’t doing damage, but won’t go to another knight.
Saying that, though, Anet made the game playable to how the player wants to enjoy the content, except for being afk, that’s not enjoying the content, the player isn’t even there. For all the rest, if a player wants to run in circles around the event and talk about that in map chat, he/she has that right. On the other hand, during the last living story update I did see a couple anet devs kicking afk people, standing by the waypoints, off the map. So they have at least some what approached the problem.
I think the main problem is that the event is taking place in an open world area, where not every player is going to be interested in doing the living story updates. Still, it does challenge a server to work together, and I’ve seen servers do quite well in that aspect, and still others simply resort to name calling.
Satisfy all your Taimi questions with the official Guild Wars 2 discussion all about Taimi.
Might I note how ridiculous it is to have a major story point with a mechanic that can be instantly completed with zero effort by one class and requires 40 attempts and studying strategy guides on the Internet to be completed by the rest.
Sadly, with the class balance problems that have plagued this game since release, this is what I have come to expect from ANet’s design team.
I completely agree. It isn’t right I should be able to simply run in there, pop a single skill, and be done with it. I guess it’s harder to code that though because engineers don’t have anything appear in the boon bar when becoming invulnerable.
I got it on my first try, but I’m an engineer.
I simply dodged forward twice, started the stomp, used Elixer S, and she was dead. First 5 seconds of the fight and she was done. I think I saw someone else talking about using Elixer B and Elixer U for swiftness and quickness, but that’s a bit absurd. You only need Elixer S as an engineer.
Uh, the Great Jungle Worm? I mean sure it has a lot of health, and sometimes it regains some HP from a Husk, but when did you last manage to fail the event.
If you mean the Three-headed Wurm, that’s not content for you.
Single servers are meant to maybe kill 1-2 heads, gaining loot in the process. It takes properly organized server- or even better alliance-runs to kill it, and the content is designed for them.
I completely agree with this post. I quite enjoy the fact that now content exists in the game that actually requires people to organize in order to complete their challenge. I’m part of a community that does the Tequatl event daily, and have been putting in a solid effort in the recent Wurm event.Tequatl has reached the point, where as long as people are organized, it’s not even challenging anymore. The Wurm has finally offered a real challenge, something that requires skill and competence from all players in order to be successful.

I’m not sure why some people seem to believe that because one piece of content is being made, nothing else is being done or improved upon. It appears, based on posts I’ve seen from the Anet team, that a very small team worked on this update (Hence why they couldn’t get in skins for certain weapons). The rest of the game is still being worked on, even during this development. Not making this update would not magically make more content appear at a faster rate elsewhere in the game. The same people could have chosen to do something different, instead they apparently wanted to make something unique, fun, and still challenging.
I play an engineer with a rifle, obviously I can’t get a skin from this, yet the update has been so much fun, I just don’t care about the rewards quite as much as just playing the content.
Amazing, made me feel like I was 8 years old again. It’s just a lot of fun.
I play as an engineer who uses a rifle, therefore no weapon skin for myself. The content is so good that I don’t really care though. The rewards aren’t what is making this fun for me, the content itself is a blast. I just wish this would stick around forever instead of just the month of April.
Agreed with all Dred has said. Being there myself I know we were not happy with what happened. No one involved in the assault outside knew about what was happening and we were surprised. Because we don’t support of those kinds of actions we left Anvil Borderlands, and can now only offer our apologies for the actions of the people involved.
Until then it was a great fight though, and we look forward to similar fair fights in the future.
ANet had stated that they had no interest in setting up an official roleplay server because of the amount of resources and moderation that would be required to to run it. There was a post from someone who worked for ANet who stated this, but I can’t find it to link it. They also said they feel roleplaying could be something that can be set up by the community, and doesn’t require an official server for it.
Anyway, as stoffer stated, Piken Square [EU] and Tarnished Coast [NA] are the unofficial roleplay servers. If you are interested in finding other groups of people I’ve spotted forums and other webpages dedicated to roleplaying in Guild Wars 2. Search some for yourself and hopefully you’ll find what you’re looking for.
@Oozo
Elitism much?
You are the usual player, that every matchup thread have each week. The player that think that there server individual player skill is so much greater then the ennemies.
If you are running with a premade guild, for sure you’ll win most fights. 50% of WvW population is pug.
Premade vs pug = pug death.
Since Avil Rock have the best tPvP population in the NA servers, I doubt we are really lacking skill.
I think overall everyone is about equal, we have our bads, we have our pros.
The thing I think DR stand out of the much is the FOTM players. The PRO guild, each time I fight them, they are like 90% made of DD Thief/Shatter Mesmer/Guardian/DDElem. Seems like your roster I mostly made of the FOTM class/build, and man is it annoying lol.
Can’t I fight some necros? engis?
It the fights time I come to this conclusion, as I usually see every class represented.
Am I just unlucky?
Now, now, engineer here who’s spent quite a few hours fighting this week… except the last couple of days. I do feel kind of lonely out on the field as an engineer honestly, but at the same time I don’t see many engineer opponents. Engineers are just simply accepted as not being fantastic at WvW. My particular build works best with small groups, and does decent at 1v1, but gosh I’m tired of being so slow, that is something thieves, warriors, guardians, etc. all have an advantage with. (Yes I have options but one of my particular escapes require me to turn backwards in order to use the way I want to use it. It’s awkward.)
Just now in DR garrison… good lord what a crazy fight that is what I play this game for great attack… wonderful last second defense.
That attack on DR garrison was just wonderful. On team speak with my guild we were all over loving it, completely serious. We haven’t had an attack like that in a very long time, between all the golems and the portal bomb. We had actually thought we were about to lose it so some others went to siege up other locations. A few of us decided to stay and at least slow you down, and turned out we were able to hold the throne room. This whole week has been fantastic, win or lose, at least we’re getting an amazing fight.
