No nothing like that…I just know that in life if you cry like a kitten you get treated like one. I would also like to point out that it said there were legitimate cries… But for the most part people are just crying because they can.

Hello,
I have been playing for over a year now and would just like to say that I am embarrassed a lot by these forums…I understand that there are a lot of justified reasons for people to be upset but at the same time some people feel the need to Qq about everything…so please read these words.
Stop your Qqing because YOU are the reason why people don’t want to play pvp. No one wants to play with a bunch of cry babies. I would rather take my toys and go home.
If your dieing by being pulled on skyhammer guess what… You were standing in the wrong spot. It’s called positioning.. Learn about it.
Decap engie got you by the balls? It’s called communication…use it?
Hambow warrior eating you up?? I dunno use some power damage?
People get angry when they die, but guess what that is just part of the game…there will always be someone better than you or a spec that counters yours…that doesn’t make it OP.
The only legitimate complaints in my opinion as of right now are:
Hambow warriors
Skyhammer being in rotation for anything other than hot join.
The lack of game modes in pvp.
I could also rant a little about how the top players seem to be very clicky, unwilling to help new players, or accept new people into their “click”. I think that as a community their are a lot of things people could do to inform new players and also maybe teach them something? It would go a long way imo
I logged into a different character and also completely restarted the game. Still stuck.
lol yes so am I
Did a solo q today and after the match finished we were all stuck in skyhammer otherwise known as purgatory.
Hello,
I don’t want this thread to turn into a “beat up the devs thread”. I want to give some constructive reasons to why (imo) pvp is failing.
I personally have enjoyed guild wars 2 from day one. The pvp is untouched by any other game…and after almost a year of playing I find the game to still be fun. But heres a couple things that I see from the outside as to why people are so angry with Anet right now.
- Transparency- There is none. If you are going to patch something…how about giving us some patch notes? People will QQ no matter what you do so lets be real, we NEED to know what is coming out before you patch it so you can atleast get some community feedback before you implement it. It is ridiculous that we have no idea what is going on.
- Development- This one is going to take a little longer. Its not that I don’t think you guys care about this game (devs), because I know you do. But I cannot accept the fact that everytime you have patched something into pvp it is broken. We had no leaderboards (which I expected at release) for a large part of the game, but when they were patched in they were broken and also REMAIN broken to this day. Another example would be the random map generator. Patched in, broken. Not only once, but twice. First day of the game, anet recognized AOE was a problem, still not fixed. The fixes are coming in to slow which then causes people to quit. PLEASE ATLEAST GIVE US DATES!
- Resources- It is pretty obvious that the resources are being funneled into other parts of the game besides PvP. I understand that you can’t have everyone working on PvP, but if you cant even get a random map generator ( which has been around since ATARI) to work correctly after 6 months of development, it is obvious your developers are being pushed by more pressing problems. The quality of your patches as of late, compared to other games, is VERY lacking. These bugs and glitches should not be happening in a AAA rated fastest selling MMO.
So in summary:
We need more transparency. Give us patch notes, fill us in. No more vague " some time soon", " we’re working on it". That doesn’t fly anymore. More and more people don’t believe you everytime you say that. They feel you are hiding something!!!
Your development needs to improve, no more MAJOR bugs at patch release. I can forgive you for being slow and I can forgive you for being a little “hush hush” about somethings, but I cant forgive you when you give me broken content that I’ve waited 6 months for. ( which is basic, games over 10 years old have map generators) You need to pull more resources to PvP because the money is there, but you are not making any content that brings anyone to watch it or participate in it. PvE players come and go, PvPers generally will stick around for a lot longer. I hope that some devs read this. I want to be clear I am not saying you are incompetent or you don’t care, but it is unacceptable to me for these problems to exist at the magnitude that we see today.
Hello,
After recently returning after short hiatus, I am looking for a new team.
I main elementalist but can play multiple rolls. I can play of course elementalist, guardian, engineer, or theif. I am best with elly and guardian and I would say mediocre with the others. I am usually on from 8 pm-12 Est.
I agree…I don’t player ranger often but their are a lot of cons it seems. Longbow seems very clunky an has no flow. I would love to see some more builds ( power) open up. I don’t think ranger fits the mold that Anet had made for it very well.
We need dev presence in the forums to squash all this Qqing. There’s a new thread of non sense everyday about what’s op, very few are justified. It definitely makes people feel a little better when they have a good idea and a dev tells them so.
I would just recommend to them to put people in their place, when it calls for it.
Uhh the pros don’t set the rules…they were already in place they just understand how to use them to their advantage. Michael Jordan was a great basketball player but failed as an owner, meaning he doesn’t know everything about basketball. It would be different here. The elites may have a great understanding of the game but no nothing about its development. Relying on their opinions alone will leave you with no playerbase.
A net is a business, and businesses make money. So they will always cater to the larger playerbase because that’s where the money is!
My point is that at this point with a struggling playerbase splitting your base hurts more than it helps. There needs to be a larger base before this game goes esports because if you drop off more people there can be no esports.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out you are wrong. There are a handful of elite players or “top tier” pvpers while there is a large majority of casuals. Start neglecting them you have no top tier. This game was created for casuals, hence no grind for level or gear. I can agree that the top tier know more about the mechanics of the game and can be a great resource, but relying on them and only them is not the answer because you will neglect a majority of the player base. Once again, they play a different game than casuals. Their builds are made to synergize with one another, they rely on each other for peels and buffs and have constant communication. These things are not available to the casuals because they either don’t have a specific team and also don’t play 8-10 hours a day.
The issue here is that there needs to be more seperation ( solo q) between the two groups because at this point we are to meshed together. You want this game to succeed? The game will ultimately have to tailor to the casual because there are so many more of us than there are of top tier players.
As far as esports goes, once again that caters to the top tier, which is still a small percentage of the population. There aren’t enough players as it is now, so splitting it in this way will only hurt the game more.
Once again I believe that the top tier can and will be a valuable resource for game development, but you cannot cater completely to them and ignore a majority of the playerbase because in the end you will have no player base.
Being top tier doesn’t make your opinions more valid or make you less bias. You likely play a lot more than a casual player, but you also play a different game than a casual. Also it doesn’t free you from bias. I believe you care about the game xeph, but not everyone wants the same things as you, therefore their opinion will differ…does that make them wrong? Your words should maybe be held a little higher on the pedestal but the casual gamer shouldn’t be completely left out.
How about nerfing necro damage and giving them more sustain like they should have gotten in the last patch.
The only thing I disagree with you on us having “top tier players” opinions only. They are just as guilty as everyone else when it comes to bad ideas. Just because you play 24 hours doesn’t mean you have a complete understanding of every mechanic or how to fix it. Also, they play a different game than someone who just comes in. They are built for team fights and around team fights…but the Joe Schmo that comes in is not going to have that knowledge or ability to play at that level. So I agree with you blind in a way that their opinion should be held in high regard but should not be the answer to all the problems we have today.
Agreed. Necro went from zero to hero pretty fast for a game that claims “small metered changes” are part of the balancing philosophy. There was no reason for the magnitude of changes for this class.
I also agree that stealth is a definite issue but I also can’t see a clear way to tone it down without hurting thieves. I would say a knockdown or something in the like should reveal them and not allow them to stealth for a certain amount of time. I would say that necros are the biggest issue at this point.
Yeah I can see a lot of people not liking the match ups and rage quitting.
I run 0/20/0/20/30 with s/d. In hot join I still run 0/10/0/30/30 d/d. ( Guess im behind the times there)I seem to stay up and do some good damage with the second spec…but also you can make better calls and see more with the first spec. I prefer d/d. I love the arcana tree also it has some very good traits that help a lot with survivability
You don’t see warrior in high level play anymore because there are other classes that full their roll better. I run a 100 blades warrior in hot join because I can get my kicks by killing people who don’t know what they are doing in about 2 seconds. It’s a lot harder to run warrior against people who actually play together.
What class would you rather have stalling a point? A warrior or a guardian? A warrior or an engy? A warrior or an elly? A warrior or any other class? I just feel ( like a lot of people) there can be a spot for warrior and I also feel that a more supportive role could get them in the mix quickly without having to completely change your play style or build. With the current condi overload, an the warriors lack in ability to deal with condis, a few simple changes like this could make them more viable and give them sustain. They have a lot of direct damage mitigation with no condi removal? I main elly and I can remove a lot of condis..which allows me to stay in a fight. A net brought up boon hate…we have no class that punishes the boon haters.
We have a lot of classes that have viable bunker builds…warrior pretty much has no truly viable build. So without completely reworking it, you will not get a bunker build out of warrior. My point was that you have to start somewhere so why not start with dps since the bunker spot can be filled easily. Warriors can mitigate direct damage pretty well but have nothing for condis. Giving them a little more of a supportive/dps role might let them see some more high level play.
I don’t think ATM bunker is the role for warrior anyways. They should be a good dps, but I think if you gave them more of a supporting role people would be more likely to use them. That’s why I am saying you give them some kind of reflect…which applies to allies, it would be a good counter to the current condi rollers. a lot of teams are running double necro, warrior having barely any condi removal, would be an easy target. Throw in a reflect and they won’t need condi removal and they would be that much more viable
Yes there needs to be more achievements but there also has to be better rewards. The grind is very dry and unrewarding. Give us some stuff that is unique in the sense that you hav to be exceptional to get it. Also, throw some things in that are issuable in pve and wvw but require you to grind pvp. Don’t just hand them crap…you have to keep them coming back!
I still run a 100 blades warrior in hot join but I will admit I suck at it when it comes to Tpvp. I had some thoughts on how to make warrior on viable.
We have boon hate builds…why not make the warrior the anti boon hate? Give them some type of magic reflect which bounced your condis back at the enemy or increases the amount of boons on the warrior? The biggest problem (IMO) is condis for a warrior. You can hit them with a few and then kite until they dead. Discuss please
I see a lot about how we need to give a net more time to develop these things. But what you fail to understand is that these bugs should have been worked out a long time ago. This is what happens when you release to early, you have no time to develop the game. If they had solo q for example, a lot of these problems we have today and in the past would have been fixed.
I have said it before, a net wants you to buy their shinies and kitten. They don’t care that spvp and wvw are broken because a majority of the people who play these will not purchase their pixels.
We shouldn’t have to wait for solo q…it should have been out at release. Sky hammer is not a big deal to me…but the idea that I would have grind for 3 years to get to lvl 80 is nonsense. The funny thing is I wouldn’t get rewarded for the three years of hard labor
The honest truth is that Anet has no intentions of improving spvp. They attempt to balance this game an fail miserably. They have promised multiple times to improve the reward system but instead continually patch for pve! You want to know why pvp players are frustrated? Well, it’s because Anet makes a lot of promises and doesn’t keep them. We Qq for warrior improvements and we never get them. We Qq for better rewards and never get them. We Qq for better balance and they nerf one class while making others Op. I started out loving this game but like many others have lost all faith in Anet because they always fall short!
The truth is that pvp could make money but Anet doesbt want to take the risk. They model themselves as being different from other games yet all they want you to do is purchase their shinies. I wish this wasn’t the case but I can tell you that the things we all complain about will not change, because Anet wants to make more money before the player vase completely drops off.
If Anet wanted to draw in more players they would have by now created an actual solo q system. They would have created actual rewards for pvp that set you apart from everyone else. They would actually balance pvp! They will not do these things because they are not financially beneficial to them and anyone that thinks otherwise is lieing to themselves and you!
