I’m just going to say it out here and be done with it. I’ve been trying to keep up, but I can’t.

I’ve been pulling 8-12 hour commander shifts in WvW on ONE map lately due to Work/School luck, but it’s a nightmare. There is no hope. The waves of Green do not stop. There is no Commander relief since I am the evening commander who decides to also stay up and be the nightshift commander. Eventually, my soldiers succumb to sleep and there is no replacements. The loss to the sea of green is inevitable as I remain the lone commnader at the tower or keep with two or three other brave souls against the horde of 40+. Morale breaks when this happens day after day after day.

And it’s the same on every map. There is just no relief from it. If I knew I had someone to take over for me, to protect the upgrades, it wouldn’t be so bad. There is nobody coming online after I put my commander tag on, and it’s the sad reality I face night after night after night.

It’s taken its toll on me. We have nobody to take over the true nightshift. SoS? They are our major PvE guild, and they do WvW for world completion if they are there in a giant group, so they do not count most of the time(though some of them are great fighters for sure).

It’s like fighting against a horde of undead. I truly had that feeling of woe like it was a zombie apocalypse yesterday. There is no end to their numbers.

There is just no end.

I eat candy corn in my Alpha Siege Golems. It speeds them up!

I hope there is always enough candy corn to satiate its hunger.

Unload is probably the best thing a thief has to killing Thieves and Mesmers who thrive on abusing culling.

I love P/P. Body shot just has a slow animation. If it was sped up like Headshot, it’d be perfect.

As for Vital Shot, it’d be great if our traits for pistol weren’t so laughable. By itself it’s fine though, but the Engy’s own 1 with pistol makes it look like child’s play when traits get involved.

I’ll tell you why I keep coming to your Borderland.

I don’t want to give Devona the satisfaction of fighting in their borderland or EB where they have superior numbers, or our borderland where they can easily call everyone to attack us due to a grudge.

In Ferg’s Borderland, Devona is on a defensive disadvantage. Kaineng is also on a defensive disadvantage, but I can deal with it. I’d rather give Ferg the defensive advantage because if Devona decides to swarm your borderland, they’d have to run into both of us if they want to take points over.

I no longer look at the bigger picture because there’s no way either of us are going to bypass Devona’s score, no matter what we do. I’d rather just play the game for what it is, take a keep/tower and see how long I can hold it before it gets taken away from me. I’m not in your lands to take all your stuff, but I want specific stuff. And I want to play where I won’t run into Devs to deny them the satisfaction of playing WvW against me.

After all, we play WvW to fight others, not to stand at a tower all day bored. I’m giving you guys something to do in your borderland.

Someday, I may play on an EU server. And if I do, I’ll make a guild called Real American Hero [JOE]

Well I’m going to fight in Ferg’s Borderland all week. See you there.

My personal suggestion to Ferguson’s Crossing as an old school Kaineng player: Wait it out. Devona’s Rest has achieved Northern Shiverpeak status.

Essentially, there were three new servers that were opened up originally; Kaineng, Devona’s Rest, and Northern Shiverpeaks. Out of the three, NSP got the population surge and slaughtered us both one week. Wait it out and they will rise in tier inevitably due to this new surge.

If you still want to WvW, do it in your own borderlands. Consolidate your population to one map where you all can make a true difference, and where they will be queued.

Frustrate them by forcing them to be queued to have fun. Consolidate in your own borderlands, and you will win by ‘Sticking it to the man’.

Hell, I say we choose one borderland man this week to fight in, and only that map. That way Devona get’s queue locked out.

It’s time to stop thinking about points, and time to start thinking about having fun at Devona Rest’s expense.

Do know that extensive spvp knowledge will win you many open field fights. You will find you have an advantage when you start leveling up.

Also, make sure your gear is ‘up to date’. It can be blue or green and be just fine, but make sure it matches your level. When you outlevel it, it drops in efficiency VASTLY, but if you are level 18 and your gear is also level 18, for example, you CAN fight that level 80 on a somewhat-even playing field.

Oh man, I had blast with that open field fight between bluelake and the island sentry with you guys TRx. Was fun until Ferg kept hitting our gate and we had to bail out to defend it. I actually didn’t even see them at the inner gate since I was actually having fun fighting for once and not bothering to look for orange swords.

By the way guys, stop complaining about how DR is some kind of juggernaut, or how Ferg and Kaineng is skill-less. Devona’s Rest is just our tier’s present ‘Northern Shiverpeaks’(Historical reference here for the originals from DR and Kaineng) in terms of numbers. They will rise out of the bracket in due time. Numbers will do that. Quality can only overcome quantity so much, and that is what tiers are for.

Give it time, and it will do its job.

It made WvW too easy. I was able to destroy enemy siege like it was made of cardboard because I could place my AoEs on top of keep and tower walls thanks to the zoom, and target enemy siege placements precisely.

Plus when the enemy servers were posting screenshots, they were all zoomed out, so they were using it at the time. It was a ‘use it or lose it’ time. Was not fun back then.

Learn better counter siege placement. I can’t stress this enough, because you CAN push out of your borderlands if you know where to place your own siege. Spiritholme can always be taken safely if you know how to place siege. I learned due to being on Kaineng. You will learn if you try.

Deflate nothing. This is e-war. Feelings belong on Eredon Terrace.

And to all you Kaining haters out there, I don’t care anymore. Haters gonna hate.

Less typing more fighting. This is Kaining. It has been Kaining, is Kaining, and always will be Kaining. And only true Kaining blood will understand that.

And by the way, my guild KAIN has been focusing in fergs borderland, so nice try with the propaganda. We just hate ferg less than Devona so when given a choice, we WILL hit you before ferg if you go there too when we are there. But that doesn’t make it an alliance.

As a player on Kaineng, I can say that out battles with Ferg and Devona are a blast, and our enemies don’t change daily. We get to know our enemies and it’s quite fun.

However, I transfered to Ferguson’s Crossing for one day this week to get a vista to start my map completion before the free transfers get longer in time, and from my observations assisting them for one day, they had no commanders on for 85% of my time there.

They had some large transfers off, so they could use a good WvW transfer. Their population is healthy enough that you can accomplish a lot, but they are a bit of a mess and could use some uniting.

As a Thief Commander, I have stopped zergs from capping supply camps long enough for my Commander Symbol to bring in enough reinforcements to wipe them. I have also once made a zerg train of 40+ people leave Godsword because they couldn’t stop me after 5 minutes and probably got frustrated.

It’s too powerful with the rendering issue and the right build. A competent Thief can stop a supply camp from being capped by a zerg easily, regardless of enemy competence level. And certain supply camps are much easier to prevent caps in than others.

If the rendering issue wasn’t present, it wouldn’t be an issue. I’d probably still stop supply camps since I’ve basically been forced to learn the exact Cloak and Dagger timing due to the many times I stopped a zerg from capping caps(CnD or die, basically).

Yesterday was fantastic in Devona’s borderland. We controlled so much land and the orb for so long, it was flat out fun, even though we eventually did lose. And Redvale made it a Pyrrhic victory for some players. :p

Hope everyone had fun yesterday! [KAIN] may be doing more borderland shenanigans later this week.

Better be careful what you wish for. You don’t want a real Kaineng/Ferg alliance.

AoEing is one way, but the other way is targeted channeled abilities. They continue during the stealth and will do full damage so long as you start it while you have a fraction of visibility on them.

That’s what NPCs do to thieves in PvE… why can’t we do that in PvP?

That’s what I do with Dual Pistols for high spike damage on a glass cannon(takes half the health of a glass cannon thief). Other classes should look into targeted channeled abilities if they have them. I don’t play them, but what high damage channeled abilities do other classes have?

Kaineng only recently got enough population to field a sub-par army on TWO fields when guilds are not out in force.

Do NOT talk down on our server for not fighting in other areas, because we just do not have the numbers. I think it’s great that the focus is on our borderlands and EB, and our WvWers are doing the best they can with the resources and numbers available.

As far as commanders go, I would not fault any of them. But the fighters of our WvW are very ambitious when there are no more clear objective left, and there is nothing wrong with fighting against the odds. But when you are going into enemy territory, listen to the commander and do not double back on his orders if there are orders, or else your already low chance of success turns into a 0% chance of success.

Backseat commanding is an issue in Kaineng, since many feel that others are not ‘worthy’ of their Commander Icon and speak over their orders. But you know what? If they weren’t worthy, their guild wouldn’t have helped donate to their tome or even have them represent their guild in the first place, regardless of Commander or not(And I’m not speaking of only my experiences with commanding, I’m speaking of the many times I’ve observed others commanding and seen when Kaineng would not work together).

When there is a campaign going on in a map with a commander or two on the map, I suggest not flying your commander insignia out of respect unless they could use your help. Extra commanders only confuse people, and there really only needs to be 2 commanders at most 99% of the time. Instead, help them out, maybe fly your tag if you’re on the same frontline with them and support them. Inter-guild support is more of what Kaineng needs, and public show of that will only make Kaineng stronger, even if we lose.

Besides, it’s not like Kaineng isn’t used to losing, and in my opinion, even if we keep getting third place, we will NEVER lose like we used to with those 6k or 30k scores.

Our server’s commanders already lead by example 99% of the time, and those who do not, the server’s regulars already does not follow. Trust me, even those that get heckled a lot, they do lead by some kind of example that has the regulars coming back over and over.

I change my thief build to counter stealth abusers, and it’s working beautifully.

Sadly, it doesn’t let me stealth like nuts anymore, but it’s a small price to pay.

Shame that it has to be a thief that counters thief.

I gotta say, anytime I see [RAVE] or [GASM], my blood boils… in a good way!

They end up giving my [KAIN] crew and I a frustratingly good time no matter the objective. I gotta say, I enjoy the rivalry you guys give me, even if you or my crew don’t know it.

I hope [PRO] doesn’t take you guys away to another tier from us. It won’t be the same, I’ve fought you guys way too much and would miss it.

Side note: Please do not take his ramblings as [KAIN]’s official word on the topic. Because his name is similar and he is in our guild, it does not mean that he is to keep up the rude remarks. He is a recent recruit by one of our guild leader(the one who does not read the forums), but I am willing to give him a chance after a firm discussion later today.

My apologies for his behavior, but do not take it as [KAIN]’s word. We do not retort like that and believe in friends before foes. Foes are for other servers, after all.

And I will personally say that Fubuki’s war report brought me to Kaineng soon after it opened up. A little charming humor can go a long way into bringing quality people to the server, because I know for a fact I am not the only one who came over due to Fubuki.

I love that screenshot of me in the middle of all those enemies. I remember dying shortly after.

I would never give my troops an order that I wouldn’t do myself, so that is why I try to lead by example; by jumping down into the zerg to destroy the prime targets(siege). Even if I die, as long as my mission is completed, then I have succeeded. And I hope others learn from my examples when outnumbered that you must have courage in the face of danger.

I was leading that charge, and let me tell you, that was NOT easy, and it was NOT one defender. There we plenty of defenders, because while we did push them back, every enemy in one keep crushed us for a while.

We spent 2 hours trying to break into that keep, but ferg’s avid defenders were doing a band up job destroying us at the inner keep. I was about to call off the siege to stop sending us to our deaths at the arrow cart hell, but those around me wanted one final charge.

We took 5 minutes to form up, build some catapults to break the outer wall, prepared to break the inner wall, and someone built and alpha siege golem that they didn’t want to pilot(I took it to make the most use of it).

After one last motivational speech, we marched through the breach. For Kaineng. And we prevailed in a fight that was not easy.

Every treb we set up, they trebbed or mortared down. Every charge we did, they beat us back. But the last one finally did it. I only lead the charge because those present wanted it. True server pride.

We may have controlled the map after that charge and you may be upset or call nightcap, but you have to have been at that keep to understand how much effort we had to put into it.

Everyone at that charge deserves a medal.

Well, the pending charge is now dropped(And I have my money back!), but I got no email from ArenaNet. I guess the bank went ahead and dropped it, like Renegadeimp said. Thanks for the information!

Hey again, just want to post to update.

I got a response very fast from the guy you escalated it to. He said he’s never seen my problem before and would forward it to the proper department to get it settled near immediately. Problem is, it’s been 2 days with no responses and that charge is still on my checking account.

And it’s not even a completed charge. It’s a charge that’s pending(and keeping my $85 in limbo), and has remained pending since the original date of purchase. I mean I’m glad I got a response and was told that it was a mystery to him, but I’d love some kind of update on the situation. I really want these gems or the refund, because I could use that $85 one way or another.

The only form I use on my Thief is Bear Form, and only sometimes. But I love it. It lets me be something else than my Thief due to the stat buffs, some kind of Tanky Beast with knockdowns and a charge.

And in WvW, going stealth and coming out as a Bear, then chasing down your foe with the charge and destroying them has to be quite an experience for the enemy.

FYI, Elementalists can enter DB too.

This is the best matchup I’ve seen so far. So much slugging back and forth, I love it(I mean, there is the occasional fly hacker from Ferg this week, but they failed each time thanks to vigilance on our side and were reported).

And last night from 12AM to 4AM Est was a hoot in FC’s Borderland at Redlake Tower. A group of maybe 10 held off a good 30+, and we destroyed well over 7 trebs and countless Catapults, Ballistae, and Arrow Carts, before it finally fell to a protracted Treb Siege guarded by 6+ Arrow Carts that our small warband couldn’t penetrate. But [KAIN] held that tower well over 4 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. And even when it fell and we fell back to the keep, we still took out a Siege Golem before that keep fell too.

And FC wasn’t the only ones we fought. We had to punch away some Devona Zergs too, and even saw Ferg and Devona mash it up at one time. I think at one point the Ferg Zerg chased down a lonely Devona Asuran. I felt bad for him.

Either way, it ended with out defeat and some jolly good corpse dancing, but in the end, the last 3 of us in the keep lept off Shaderon Hill’s bridge to our death as they broke through that last door in the keep. I’d say both sides won, since I had a grand ol’ time those 4 hours at the tower and keep.

If you see a Kaineng Thief in Divinity Council Gear with an Eyepatch on your soil backstabbing you, it’s just me saying ‘Hello’.

I am pretty sure I know who you are talking about, and will not drop names out of respect.

But my guild, [KAIN], has no respect for the guild in question, and will crush Devona to make a statement when they are present. His kind is not welcome on Kaineng soil, and will be eliminated at all costs.

No cost will be spared in order to teach a lesson that will most likely go unlearned due to arrogance.

Considering it was our guild’s keep(and MY money invested in it), I don’t forget things easily. Others I cannot post due to showing account names(And that wouldn’t be right), but I can show more if needed.

The worst offense was when Borlis Pass conquered our entire Borderlands in 5 minutes flat once. No kidding. Someone found a way to take over points instantly. Guildie was upgrading Dreaming Bay when all of a sudden the lord decided to kill him.

More has happened, believe me. Instead of crumbling, we only grew stronger. Kaineng will prevail.

Considering that Borlis Pass has hacked against Kaineng and Devona’s Rest last week multiple times in multiple ways, I am not surprised.

Crush Borlis Pass into the dirt, we look forward to facing them next week.

As said in title, my checking account has been charged for $85 worth of gems. Support said to let it go for 24 hours, but now it’s been over 48.

Last time I purchased, I got a receipt and my gems near immediately. This time, I havn’t, but my bank has been charged and that irks me. I didn’t even get a receipt via email.

I requested a refund if possible, because I will wait for the system to be less buggy before I purchase Gems in the future. But again, the fact that I have been charged it on my bank statement with no receipt scares me. Is something else going on that I am unaware of that may not be Anet’s fault?

Anet, please look into my incident report and assist me. I know it hasn’t been in the system for longer than 5 hours, but it makes me feel uncomfortable.
