I don’t pay any attention to anything a “commander” says, in WvW or out. It’s such a stupid, overly abused system. Something like this should have to be earned with a LOT of success in WvW, not just bought.

They’ve said before that the game isn’t balanced for 1v1 combat, so dueling would be, potentially incredibly, unbalanced. If they leave it unbalanced, it generates an ENDLESS stream of complaining. If they attempt to fix it, now the entire game has to be rebalanced around dueling. Not worth it, imo.

As for inspecting, a HORRIBLE idea. this would lead to the kind of elitism that has no place in this game. If you want to know what gear someone has, ask them. If you want to admire their gear, take a screenshot or three.

If someone breaks the rules, report them, always. Don’t hesitate.

I didn’t have any problems with the FOV before, but it looks just fine with this enabled.

I’m glad I don’t just royally suck all of a sudden, because the Mark II golem is DESTROYING me now. I have absolutely no idea how to avoid the damage. I get hit and it’s an instant half my health gone.

I can understand why Arenanet decided to cave and add levels to the game but it’s really firing back on itself because with the lack of being able to check for gear people resort to pathetic elitist attitudes like levels to judge whether someone is worthy to join dungeon parties.

Gear checking would make this FAR worse.

Absolutely not. Addons are an interesting idea but in practice, as proven by WoW, horrible.

Grinding is optional, quit if you don’t like it, etc.

Dueling would be iffy for the reasons I mentioned, inspecting would lead to elitism and has no place in this game for a variety of reasons and I’m pretty sure they said that direct trading would facilitate gold sellers.

How would it affect other parts of the game? You just request a duel from someone in town, fight it out for a minute. the first person to hit 0 hp loses, and they go back to normal. Nothing changes, there’s no reward. It would just be for funsies.

I don’t think the OP is asking for a different PvP mode, this would just be to pass time while LFG, or queuing for WvW.

Just buy a certain amount of gems every month if you want to give them money on a regular basis.

This is an absolutely terrible idea.

I wasn’t sure if I should file this as a bug or suggestion, as I don’t know if the current state of this is intended or not, but decided to post it here.

Earlier I bought a “Superior Sigil of Accuracy” which gives a +5% chance to get a critical strike. I noticed that after putting the sigil on one of my daggers with them equipped, the critical chance on my characters stats did not show any increase.

As I said, I’m not sure if this is “working as intended” or a bug, but either way I’d sure like this to get straightened out. It would be very useful to see all effects in my stats, from sigils or anything else.

I’d be happy to pay for a keyring type authenticator if it was an option. Not everyone has or wants a smart phone.

But just releasing it in an unbalanced state isn’t an option. Unless you’re new to the internet or MMOs, you know as well as I do that if it’s unbalanced there will be ENDLESS complaining on all forums and in the game. If they decide to even TRY and make it balanced, they’ll have to rebalance the entire game around dueling. I just don’t think that’s worth it.

There are a thousand reasons why a detailed combat log/dps meter parse of some kind is useful.

This DOES breed ‘you cant join our group because you don’t do enough DPS!’

Answer: Dont play with those children find an adult group to play with!

Except almost EVERYONE will act that way, making groups much harder to find.

What this does is adds support to the game for SMAA, a type of anti-aliasing far superior to FXAA. It does this by adding a directx dll file to the games directory.

This provides no advantages, no gameplay/skill automation and no hacking/botting/scripting potential. Would this be allowed?

Nope, I don’t think so. Hammers don’t need to be enormous to do massive damage.

i don’t know arenaNet stance on Multiboxing (wich is not boting btw) but who cares boters will find a way let the banhammer take care of them

They have a no bot policy and multi-boxing is botting (one keypress gives more than one action) so it would seem that their policy is already pretty clear.

It’s also incredibly unbalanced for one person to be able to hit one button and have multiple attacks go off at someone.

ArenaNet can always take the stance Blizzard took on Duels (and WPVP), that is: PVP is not balanced on 1v1 stop crying and go do some arenas with a friend

They’ll add it and the community will just go “gee, we asked for it, it’s unbalanced but golly that’s okay.” and peace will flourish throughout the game/forums? Let’s not kid ourselves. I can’t even imagine how a suggestion like this gets made. You never cease to amaze me, Internet. Getting to level 80 is already easy, far easier than most/any other MMO.

They’ve already said we aren’t getting mounts, is this topic really still going?
