The team had a great time playing with everyone! Hope to see you on the battlefield again. . . maybe next time we will be your enemies. Have a great weekend everyone!
I don’t know if you chose to play on our server randomly but what I know is that you choose the perfect moment as it was an extremely enjoyable primetime.
THIS is the wvw we like to play!
Hi guys, if you have a Windows Phone you may be interested by my app.
Hi! U can create for win 8 PC?
Unfortunately no, I’d have to subscribe to a Windows 8 developer account event if I already have a Windows Phone one. This is a shame since the code would be almost exactly the same…
Ok, it took a while but I managed to gather all the localized static data (words and objectives) in a database. Regarding the guilds, I will wait for the new API features to be implemented.
Request and question regarding WvW API.
- In the match_details request, what is the order of the three world in the scores token?
Es. “scores” : [27699,19206,20934], what number is corresponding to what world?
- In the matches request, can we have an additional token that would indicate if the match is EU or US? Also, can an optional querystring parameter be added to filter the result to the desired location?
Edit: I just realized the wvw_match_id value is “{Location}-{Tier}”
- In the objective_name request, the returned name indicates the type of the objective, we would need their name also (es. Bay or Hills).
- In the match_details request, we would need a way to retrieve the guild names and possibly a link to its insignia from the returned GUID.
Thank you.

Hi guys, if you have a Windows Phone you may be interested by my app.
I usually never complain on forum but I too was expecting something more for the celebration. Not even a special reward but a cut scene or something like that…
Leave the area completely? It is more or less 400 units, you’re still in the range of most attacks after it, especially in wvw when you are often surrounded by foes.
Well, it’s cool if it works for you.
Well, it’s true you have two escape skills on the sword but does it save your life so often in a wvw context? Honestly, I’ve used it since the pre-release and now that I dropped it I don’t feel its absence (tough I do for the warhorn). Don’t get me wrong, I only speak about wvw, in pvp it is a different story.
Again, maybe it will depend on the play styles but for me, in wvw, sword is not that great life-saver. In fact, I think LB point blank shot saved my kitten as much as hornet sting.
There’s something else that few here are pointing out:
How come some professions have the ability to teleport and flee when they are downed or even to use knockback to avoid the finishers?
Let’s face the true, for us rangers being in downed state means being dead, unlike other professions there is basically nothing we can do to avoid our fate and this is not fair.
IMHO every classes should have the same downed skills or at least skills of the same quality.
LB based builds are laughable at this point. LB rangers are crushed when tunnel-visioned in WvW. devs know this and hopefully we’ll be seeing some good LB buffs soon.
I can’t agree with you here.
You can’t say a blow of LB 3-2-5 + QZ before engaging with the SB is laughable and Barrage is also very useful during siege and defence or to reach opponents that are out of the SB range.
Actually I altered your build in order to use the Longbow, I keep the war horn in my inventory to buff myself and my group before the inc. Now I’m quite pleased with that setup.
Here’s the build (Full PVT armour and Full Knight jewels, Berseker bows, polar bear and jaguar):

Yes, tonight the lag is particularly horrible. Yet the fights are great.
First of all I want to thank Colin Johanson for his update because I think communication between the developers and the community is essential in a game like this.
That being said, I must say that I’m rather worried for the future of Guild Wars.
First of all, let me point out that I love many things of this game and that I respect all of the incredible work that had been and is being put in it but, as a world versus world player, I’m not really having fun anymore.
From what I can remember, Arena Net promised us epic battles, epic challenges, epic everything in the wvw part of the game but now that the first months of enjoyment have faded away I don’t see anything epic anymore. Let’s face the true, maps are too smalls, too cloned and not built very well, gameplay is repetitive as hell, queues are shared among every server (!) and I don’t even talk about the issues and exploit flaws that are completely ruining the game experience.
What I mean is that I, and many other I guess, assumed that wvw would be the central pillar of Guild Wars 2 but let’s face the true, we all see now that it’s definitely not.
You guys have put the emphasis on events, pve content, dungeons etc. which is cool, no doubt about that, but I think that it is not what a great part of the community have been expecting, namely an epic world versus world game mode.
I remember something my GM said during a meeting a little time after I joined my guild: “Personally, I don’t like this game, there’s a lot of things that are not designed the way they should be but since this is the new platform we must adapt to it”. First I did not understand what he meant but now I do and seeing lot of people leaving just confirm that I’m not the only one.
You Arena Net guys have to understand an important thing: if a “new platform” with a better world versus world mode comes to be released, there’s a significant possibility that Guild Wars would be deserted and we don’t want that.
Please, just don’t underestimate the wvw community as it could turn out to be a fatal mistake, for you and us.
The current situation is fun for nobody. My guild had set its wvw activities in stand-by because there’s basically nothing to do anymore.
I can only advise you to wait for the reset, we’re all in the same boat now, this is a total mess.
You know the butter when it’s melting in a frying pan? Well, this is more or less what happens when we run into a FoW band :p
It’s true, you guys got in a tough situation and you should not give up as it will most certainly evolve soon or later but until then, bring the butter in! Mwha ha ha!
Better remove ALL mobs from WvW maps
If only…
By the way, against additional PvE on WvW maps too.
Just one thing. If Xaoc pretend there have no cheaters and/or exploiters in their ranks, why don’t their leaders publish an official and public declaration on this very forum, stating clearly that they:
- Are against any form of cheat, without any exception.
- Will expel immediately ANY of their member caught cheating.
- Condemn what happened on Blacktide server right before their transfer on Vabbi and apologize for that.
- Will never have any future collaboration or alliance, of any kind, with the infamous [RUS] S P A R K guild.
In my humble opinion, until they don’t do this, they don’t deserve any further consideration.
Sorry your lands where taken in a war that was not yours, your server indeed suffers some sort of collateral damage.
As an ex-Blacktide player I know it’s very frustrating and not fun to be overwhelmed by two other servers, but alas, the game works this way.
In any case please believe that there’s no cooperation between Vabbi and RoS at all.
Now you can wait until the next matchup to see how the situation will evolve, continue to fight with honour for your server or maybe join one side or the other.
Good luck.
Until we get some better Norn armor in the game…
I like the corset part of this top but not the sort of jacket one, that’s why I’ll stick with the duelist top… like you said, until we get better.
I would add those two:
- Give the ability to pets (or some pets) to be able to track a stealth thief.
- Pet being attacked should not give a speed penalty to the player.
I agree with that. If I want my pet to be stowed it should remain like that independently of what is happening, especially when I go from one point to another in wvw and I need speed and discretion.
1. It certainly feels the slowest, especially when you have swiftness activated, but your pet [who trails behind you] is still in range of enemy abilities and in the course of being struck – forces you into “combat” which then slows you down to a crawl regardless of swiftness. If a foe can strike your pet, they can prevent your escape.
Oh my god, I had not realized that!
I was just about to create a new topic in order to complain about the frequent feeling of moving in “slow motion” in wvw (I have a Norn ranger).
In fact, even with the SoH I am almost always let behind by my group, being passed by people who even’t have a speed buff when I have…
Now I know why, they are the mobs who attack my pet slowing me at the same time.
I really hope they will do something about that as that’s the only real thing that annoy me with my ranger.
Is there any way to detect where the stealth thief is with a ranger or with any other profession? In not, I think it would be a nice thing if pets would have this ability.
If I’d have to ask one and only one buff that would be this one.
Even with the +10% of the Signet of the hunt I ’m almost always let behind in WvW, we really need a +25% here. Being a Norn ranger make you really feel like if you played the game in slow-motion.
I add my vote too!
Good luck with ranged warrior you’ll need it
Why? It’s not viable?
Personally I’ll keep my Ranger (bersek built with longbow) for WvW only and I love it there but for the rest, it’s obvious that it’s super-underpowered.
Yesterday, I played a bit of PvE with two of my guildies that had thieves and I just laughed… When I managed to kill a mob they killed three or four.
Now I’ve decided to reroll a (longbow or riffle) warrior for sPvP and PvE, there’s no other option unfortunately.
(edited by Daze.6914)
Rangers own in PvP guys, don’t listen to everyone saying they under powered cause I can’t be only person facerolling every single class I come up against.
Ranger is ranked as the worst or equal worst profession for spvp in any “rank the profession” type threads on the spvp forums.
But, since we’d like to improve, could you make us a little demonstration with a video Sol?
The bug is still there unfortunately, seems it’s only a visual thing however but it’s quite annoying.
I confirm the exploit. This must be fixed as soon as possible.
Tried two times yesterday, still bugged, nothing happens in front of the barricade
Hi everyone, I’d like to add my voice to this topic.
Every time I play Guild Wars 2 more than 30 minutes, I get horrible headaches and nausea plus the felling of having my eyes popping out of their sockets.
At the beginning I did not think the game was in cause but then I decided to make some search and found that a lot of people have the exact same symptoms.
I want to point out that I have played computer games for 20 years and I’ve never felt like this. I think I will pause playing the game (which is sad because I love it) until this is resolved.
Please ArenaNet, do something about this issue, somebody can’t pay the price of ruining his own health to play a game.
