Whispers and map chat, wasn’t anything blacklisting, just suggested my ‘commanding style’ might not fit in. No ill will or malice was intended or at least I didn’t take it that way.

Commanding style not fitting in on Gates? I’ve enjoyed following commanders who are meticulous, careful and thoughtful. I’ve enjoyed following commanders who are… er… completely insane. Unless you characterize your commanding style as “bad” or “totally into losing” I don’t see an issue. We do have a large and vibrant troll community (get ready to /ignore), but no commander standards that I am aware of.

Hello, glad you are all taking interest in countering my guild. It’s nice to see both servers theory crafting on idea’s but you won’t beat us unless you bring a good group of 20 or more people together under the same teamspeak channel with proper builds who listen to their commander.
It wouldn’t hurt to combine all of your organized guilds together as 1, that’d be challenging I think.

As was mentioned before, by singling out [Agg] we mean no disrespect to the other skilled guilds and players on both ET and FC, but [Agg] is playing the game at a level that I have not seen before. [Agg] clearly has many build synergies, skilled players who seem to know everyone’s role very well, excellent coordination and quick response. [Agg] is clearly not a zerg and I mean that as a compliment. We recognize that to compete we need to make some adaptations.

T8 is currently zergier than T7 was when Gates of Madness moved down. Zergier than I like, but I have no experience with higher tiers. I take it that SF has brought the big zerg to T7, but cannot speak from experience.

No. At least not at 1:13p.m. EDT. Look at the numbers Devon just posted and compare with the rating column on millenium. Shouldn’t be too hard for millenium to adjust as the only scores that should be affected are for SF, ET and FC. Then again, I have no idea how millenium’s system is coded.

I can see when you get up there in levels, but level 24 is quite underpowered…I can murder people on my higher level toons but the lower ones I just hope to do enough damage for kill credit.

I quite amazed how 1 little post can turn into a flame war. Earlier you said that you should read all the posts before posting, i believe you should take your own advise. I only stated that i was killing ET and FC 80s, which to some degree i am, because some FC decided to try and gloat that he was killing our green arrows. From what i can see the poster runs in an organized five man so killing a group of green arrows isnt much of accomplishment.

You’d be surprised how powerful a low level toon can be. If you get full masterwork gear/rare at higher levels and then get the runes and sigls you get some nice stats going. At one point i had 1700 condition damage, 2500 armor and 22k hp.

Level 24’s cannot defeat level 80’s regardless. I was trying to dispute HIS bragging because of how easily just myself could defeat him.

I’ve leveled three alts from the mid 30’s to 80 mainly in WvW. Can’t speak about lower levels since those were my lowbies when I started playing WvW. All of them seemed quite effective and defeated plenty of lvl80’s along the way. You have to remember that Arenanet balances things so that new players can have a good time in WvW.

I would much rather run with an experienced WvWer on a low level alt than a lvl80 PvEer in full ascended/exotics trying WvW for the first time. Still don’t believe us? Roll an alt and give it a try.

I know we had our spats at times. I know we fought bitterly towards the end there, but we really, REALLY miss you and we’ve been thinking we made a terrible mistake leaving you for SF. At first, Sorrows Furnace seemed like it was everything you weren’t. On our first few dates, SF was super easy to get along with. But after we started going steady, SF turned into a total nightmare to live with. It’s just not working out. SF is, like, totally wrong for us.

Look, we… we might have rushed into things. We regret breaking up with you, GoM. You should move back in with us in T7. SF just doesn’t get us. Last night at 4:00am they camped our spawn point for hours with a massive zerg while they simultaneously hit our keep so we never had a fair chance of defending it. I know we accused you of cheating on us with HoD, but you would never have camped our spawn point like that. Never. You always took our keep fair and square. SF is super insensitive to our needs. They mercilessly taunt us on the forums and mega zerg us constantly. It’s just not the same as it was with you, GoM. No more razor close matches, no more waking up on sundays and going shopping with you at the Skritt farmer’s market for shinies. Sigh. We want you back GoM. I know you’ve got a new tier now and you’re seeing somebody else but I think we should give this relationship another chance. Come back to us GoM. Fight your way out of this T8 mess so we can break up with SF and get back to some fun, sexy, romantic WvW. We miss you.

I am keeping an open mind about the current T8 match and must admit that I had fun on this first server reset night. The groups we encountered were considerably larger than I was expecting and in fact a little larger than I prefer, but much better than finding none. We shall see how the week proceeds.

An odd sight in GoM BL tonight. Perhaps the world is coming to an end: PAXA catapulting Woodhaven. Felt I needed to screenshot it to prove it actually happened.

Not as odd as you might think, it’s an age-old tradition held by PAXA and friends to catapult a tower or keep in order to draw out a zerg to kill. It is a necessary evil that we must endure at times.

What I’ve noticed is GoM has completely vanished after getting Green for a week. They just Poofed! Leading me to believe they are more PvE server. Anyways about the evenness of the teams before transfers. If you noticed way back when (like two weeks ago) HoD would usually take a commanding lead during the weekend (before transfers) We didn’t have the weekday players to hold that lead while you guys did. If the same players who played Friday – Sunday could put in the hours we did during the weekend or half of those hours we would have still held the lead. It was the fact that during the week the Outmanned buffed lived in HoD. I remember going in during the day and having maybe if we were lucky 15 people spread through all the maps. Now we simply have a week day force. Yes our weekend force got buffed. Yes our primetime force got buffed. But we would win during those times before that. The only that that has really changed is the fact that we have people on through the WHOLE week and not just the weekend.

I am in no way defending that the transfers didn’t help us. I am just saying we were outmanned and it was during the week that GoM and NSP were able to catch up to us because of that reason. Once again I would like to say Ive seen less GoM in WvW. Come back I miss you guys< Stop PvEing and more WvWing. You have a month to get those shiny backpacks!!!!!!

seeing stuff like this gets really tiring. file a bug report & get on with your day. if it was more than that a dev will ban people. if it was only that then it’ll get fixed eventually.

in the mean time, coming on here and making accusations is probably not the right approach.

I am sure this could be followed up in private if guild leaders corresponding to the tags displayed contacted JKFlipFlop.7123. Unfortunately, unless a guild leader is a regular poster on the forums, going public is the only option. I myself would like to contact someone in [PHZE], but do not know who that might be.

Gates of Madness is a great server to play on in what is currently the most evenly matched NA tier. Yes, we do complain about Northern Shiverpeaks and Henge of Denravi from time to time, but I think we all know that any one of us could win the tier each and every week. Server queues are a rarity, in fact something we get excited by. And, perhaps most importantly, Gates is a server where small coordinated groups and rapid response to crises make an effective contribution.

We do have our share of fun diversions too. Fight club, snow leopard packs, goomba stomping (what one of the “victims” called it), and general troll hunting all come to mind, but we always seem to come up with new ones. And the badges… not to say that I haven’t provided many myself… does anyone know if gifts of battle are stackable?

Can I speak out against the fight club? Honestly, the whole thing was disastrous for our server (NSP). A big majority of our commanders and a good chunk of NSP players were there. At the exact moment the fight club was underway, GoM ruthlessly assaulted our areas in EB with a massive zerg and ninjaed our keep with a ton of golems. Our entire side of EB was blue. HoD was untouched. On NSP, we have limited commanders and our WvW player count is much lower then GoM, so every fighter on the ground counts. Those of us who avoided the fight club were desperately trying to defend our keep, but it was overrun by the force of GoM’s offensive and it set us back from any hope of regaining the lead. Not to mention breaking NSP morale. If the darn fight club hadn’t been going on, we might have held them off. I’m not trying to say that GoM deliberately staged the fight club in order to distract our commanders and pull off their assault, but that was the end result. Either there needs to be a multi-server wide truce during the fight club, or we should not get sucked into having them. Either way, I vote no fight club. Wet blankets FTW!

I didn’t hear about the fight club until it was under way. The others I was with didn’t seem to be aware that it was going to take place either. As far as a server wide truce: I don’t think that it ever would be reasonable to expect that. Certainly not in a match this close. In fact I was a little surprised that GoM had a sizable group there including quite a few commanders. I know we had camps flip in our BL during the fight club, but didn’t really think too much about it.

And the people taking part in the fight club were having fun. I even had fun helping to deal with the fight club hooligans. Hope I spiked only troublemakers and not the participants.

1. Fighting outside of Redbriar in GoM BL. NSP clearly wants to keep it.
2. Golem roadtrip in NSP BL. First we knock on Bay’s South Gate.
3. Letting ourselves in, another golem joins the caravan at Bay inner.
4. Fast forward to NSP Garrison. But why stop here… “We’re going to Sunny!”

Wonderful night, we were just able to show everyone that we weren’t dead yet awesome job defending eb GoM, the fight at langor went on and on! To NSP, darn you for coming in and stealing our glory xD we wanted to be the ones who capped out GoM bl completely, not half hod half NSP >.<, overall good fights and defense from everyone, hopefully we can have more nights like this!

2. But wait, there are still some GoM out there looking for a fight.

Also, at a previous camp in a 3v10+ guards an FGJ Thief laughed on my corpse after I survived kiting them in circles for a long enough time for some one my teammates to run all the way back to victor’s lodge.

Fighting near the spawn always reminds me of crossing the streams:

1. HoD Overlook: With only two gates and one wall down, it’s a great fixer upper opportunity.
2. Ooops, one more wall down… At least now it has better ventilation.

This match has been a lot of fun for me so far. Don’t know why we have all these posters concluding that the match is somehow not fun for GoM and HoD. When we log on, we can be sure that there are plenty of points to capture and many fights to be fought. The overall point total, meh. If I cared about that, I suppose I would have transferred while it was free. But I am not all that interested in playing Coverage Wars.

I’ve had something like this happen twice.

Once a few months back in Orr was doing an event where you go into the tunnels under the Cathedral of Radiance some Risen ran up on top of one of the tents and died, then some other risen came and destroyed the tent but the lootable corpes of the first set of risen stayed floating up in mid-air unreachable.

I know that tent. I jokingly accused one the women in my guild of collapsing it (her toon had been standing on it). Her response: “Are you saying that I’m fat?” The lost loot was the least of my worries that night.
