Wanted to ask if either of you had siege problems? It didn’t look like it though.
Ours is bugging out, we drop it, get it to 90% built and then Poof. Its gone.
Reason why you may have witnessed some gate chewing.

I’ve seen this happen a few times lately. But in most of the cases I’ve seen the siege disappears almost instantly after being dropped. It happens too fast to be despawning from not being built quickly enough. Don’t think it is a siege ca kitten ue, just a glitch.

Seeing all these people post pictures of older systems, I have to wonder how many people actually used them. I, for one, got my early game experiences on a TI-99. Long live Tombstone City, Munch Man, Dig Dug, and Parsec!!!

I had one of those! PARSEC was my favorite game for a long time. I also had Munch Man, Car Wars, TI Invaders, and Early Learning Fun (lol).

I had early learning fun as well. We also had an exercise game which I don’t recall the name.

Early learning fun on a TI-99/4A… now I feel old. I enjoyed Zork and the other Infocom games on my Commodore 64. No picture, but I still have it in it’s original package.

• Veteran Karka retaliation that lasts forever: annoying

I was grouped with someone earlier who was instantly downed by reflecting a karka’s projectile at it (the kind that causes poison IIRC) and hitting the retaliation for numerous ticks. It was pretty funny. I need to find a way to do that to people in WvW…

Several posters have discussed ways of dealing with the things I found annoying, and while that is great, it misses the point. I can already deal with them fairly effectively. I suppose why I found these annoying is that 1. I can’t really use them myself and 2. all the effects would be enormous fun to use against other players in WvW. Retaliation that lasts more than 30 seconds, muhahaha. Life bar reset, haha, jokes on you buddy. Karka hatchling effects, let the rage quitting commence. Really effective confusion, oh wait, Arenanet decided that was hurting the game.

I suppose I am also still burdened by the memory of fighting the Ancient Karka. It went on so long and became so tedious that I can recall sorting my inventory during the battle just to pass the time… and that was before the life bar reset.

• Reef drake confusion that lasts forever: annoying, especially for mesmers after the 50% WvW confusion nerf.

• Low item drop rate (it seems to me) for young karka, reef riders, and reef drakes: annoying.

Okay, I am being hyperbolic when I say an effect lasts forever, but that is the way it seems. I was looking forward to going back to Southsun Cove and thought Arenanet would have changed some of the things that turned me off the first time. Wow was I wrong.

Played a couple of times. Did not enjoy it. Do I understand how to play… not really… do I care to take the time to figure it out… no. Thank God I also don’t care about achievement points.

Sometimes I think the Arenanet design team sits in a back room trying to think up ways to make playing the game more unpleasant. Seriously.

I really don’t care about the rank titles. Having WvW titles/PvE titles/map completion star visible to opponents can help them prioritize targets. Get rid of them all, at least in WvW. Or make them optional so when someone is wearing a “target me first title”, I can oblige. I would prefer to have the WvW points account bound, but progression in WvW is eventually going to lock new players out and the game will die. Long term I see adding progression to WvW as one of the worst decisions Arenanet has ever made, but at the moment I am enjoying arrow cart mastery.

AD, eh… not too impressed. I know it’s rare to come up against the forum warriors of NSP, but I really expected more of a fight from you guys. You guys try to fight with maturity, which is almost like trying to go up against a door-nob after dunking your hands in vaseline. Just doesn’t work well. You gotta learn how to combat NSP’s tactics with immaturity, just throw that poo they flung at you right back in their faces. You’ll learn as you fight more though, you guys seem like quick learners and solid players.

What just blows me away is that many of the fights they’ve lost to our “zerg” are fights where they engaged us and lost. They engaged us, lost, and then say that they got zerged. Its just kittening blows my mind.

They (SPCA/XOXO/Splt/tM) come at us with 15 and lose and then say they aren’t on voice. I mean, we had seen them working so much together that I just assumed they were on voice together. But, what difference does it make? They formed up together and they engaged us. Let me repeat that. They came after us.

Are we supposed to go, _"hey, those guys aren’t on voice… we should just let them kill us." No, that’s idiotic. Instead we kill them and they proceed to come to forums to complain about our “zerg.” Of course, if we had let them kill us they would have come to forums to say we “suck.” It’s truly a win/win situation for them, isn’t it?

Then I am getting tells from Teivo saying that we never run under 10. Yeah, actually we do and we quite often find ourselves dealing with 10+ SPCA/XOXO/Splt/tM. He says, yeah…. but it’s not the 5man SPCA. What the kitten difference does that make? Isn’t that convenient. He wants us to put ourselves at a disadvantage when SPCA/XOXO/Splt/tM group up together so the 5man SPCA isn’t at a disadvantage when they run across us.

The amount of their self-centered hypocrisy is just astounding to me. Did they do this kitten to you too? Of course, I guess that the main difference would be is that we have the numbers to kill them when they all group up together and you didn’t.

I do believe [PAXA] is working on a trolling mastery achievement.

Think the event just reset with the last update. A bunch of us had the same idea to get to the Cattlepult immediately after an update. Worked for us. Not sure if the problem is completely fixed since this is not indicated in the patch notes, so if others have issues in the future, just get there right after an update.

Depends on the area. High level event’s draw a lot of people. Starter areas always seem to have at least a few new players. Mid level areas can be rather quite. WvW has queues, but not always. I think you will find similar population densities if you try guesting on other servers.

Unfortunately, the count now seems to indicate that there are enough cows for the event to complete, yet no cows seem to remain in the area. A confounding cattlepult cow counting conundrum.

I made a change in the upcoming content update that should make the cowapult much more accessible. We’re still trying to track down the bug causing the NPCs to stall after the event runs (but before the cowapult is usable) but the upcoming change should allow you to use the cowapult unless the event is actively running.

Now the event seems to run non-stop. And I believe it is called a “Cattlepult.”

Seriously, this thread started seven months ago and they are still having problems here? Here’s an idea… remove the event and have the Cattlepult active at all times. By the way this event is stuck on Gates of Madness, Jade Quarry and Eredon Terrace.

I appreciate the thought that has gone into this thread. A great build has become one which is barely adequate, if that, and very ineffective against skilled players. Another major aspect to this nerf is that many of the combo effects associated with ethereal fields are confusion based. When playing my ranger I always appreciated the ability to stack confusion with my projectile finishers.

Just about every time I’ve logged in this weekend, we’ve owned SM. Obviously, Zombieland is doing something right. Besides… this story is lacking some details. Was that tower upgraded? A fully fortified Wildcreek is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Was anyone else working on SM at the time? A golem rush on a tough tower while a separate group takes down a wall-less paper SM is a good play.

At any rate, calling them out on the forums is no good. Just send them a whisper if you don’t agree with a plan. They might be seeing something you don’t, or vice versa.

No they don’t. In fact we normally capture SM when the GoM commanders are on, Knighpiepoe, or something like that, and The Old Spartan in especial.

While i witnessed they leaving because the moment we get SM 4 commanders pop in the mid of castle and begin to give strange orders like “attacking Durius while SM, with normal gates/walls, is being trebbed from Klovan”

Yesterday we captured SM, had ppl running supplies, 80% of the upgrade completed.
Our outter walls were down, and we called for help.(had like 15 players there)

We had every thing to hold SM, we had sieges inside lord room and upgrade would be going up in 5 minutes.
They gave orders to abandon SM and attack Meldon that were being taken 1 minute before.

Their explanation: it would be “easy” to take back SM.

They ended wasting 30 minutes on that in the mean time we lost SM and Anzalia. they lost more 30 minutes to take back anzalia and went to to enemy land to be wiped 10 times in a row without taking a single tower.
Went to SM and got wiped 5 times did this kittenty golem rush taking only one tower, and immediatly losing it after that because they didn’t defend.

After that one commander log out and the other ppl just didn’t follow his orders anymore.

From 310 points per tick we went to 200 because of them.(yes. it’s their fault because they just pop up commander when we already have commanders, 2 commanders giving completely different orders will never work)

They don’t do separate play. Their average plan for what i’ve seen is: throw players and sieges at the enemy, if it doesn’t work throw more.

I don’t think they are a good thing to GoM.

When i asked them wtf they were doing they answer with a “Shhhh GoM learn to play”
followed by a “you don’t like what we are doing? buy a commander for yourself”.

That’s why i HATE the commanders system in this game. This puts a bunch of PVE players in the place to command a PVP group.(pve because the only kinda of player i see throwing down 30 g like it’s nothing or is a bot or a 100% farmer)

This only ends in pathetic results.

In fact i’m kinda of tired of seeing commanders with legendaries that never upgrade towers/keeps. it’s almost funny how the “normal” players who doesn’t have legendaries/money to waste are the ones who actually do that.

T8 has been great. Classy, skilled and indomitable play from both ET and FC has made WvW what it should be. I know I’ve learned quite a bit these past few weeks. Shout out to Basic [BS], definitely one of the toughest groups in this tier! Had a lot of fun 1v1ing and GvGing you guys. Also to the [BS] warrior getting naked and spamming the /cry emote on naked Asura….. hahahahahhahahahaha

aka Angelic Renae, I have gone up against these guys on numerous occasions, plus a Engineer from Yarr (Spectreal). Always a blast to go toe to toe.

I did get a kick out of a fellow GoM member saying he was going to report me for 1v1 after I didn’t help him out when he jumped in (when I clearly warned him) during a friendly session inside Titan’s area. As long as my foe isn’t attempting to take our BL stuff, I have no problems being cordial (not spiking and not interfering with a bout) about a face off.

BTW, to that guardian whoever you are, I had just stopped those 2 from taking titan causing them to back off and eventually leave. A lot more than you seemed to accomplish by coming back time and time again waving your scepter.

I have eight level 80’s. Why? Probably because I don’t like sticking with one class; they all have situational advantages and disadvantages. Mesmers and thieves seem to be the best suited for roaming, though I am sure every class has some good roaming options.
