Is there going to be a ladder reset with the solo and team queue separation?

I also feel that the ladder should be “reseted” every month. It has quite too much players in it who played like 50 matches won a few and then never played again.

If you (Arenanet) would make a monthly reset, people would also be encouraged to play with their own accounts and don’t make second accounts.

A big issue is also, that it gets considerably harder to have a good ranking when you have many games.


another question: Are there going to be team ladders? Or why aren’t there team ladders?
Couldn’t you made a rating system per guild, which only counts when 5/5 represent the guild and then counts for the team/guild?

Can't buy gems since patch?

It’s still not working for me. Since the patch I can’t buy gems with paypal and or visa (tried different cards/accounts, IP addresses).

I still get an error at the end of the purchase

expanding the game types is not as easy as adding a new map. You say it yourself. If they expand it requires that skills and classes and the whole game has to change. (I would also like an active healer.. it just provides so much options).

Therefore I would like to have some GvG option with the current capture mode (which I don’t really like, but implementing those maps as GvG wouldn’t be that complicated -or not so complicated as adding a healer etc. etc.-)

what you guys all miss is that GvG is possible even with the capture mode. They can implement other modes later but thats a whole different theme

I think that too. But I’d still like a guild ladder and a real gvg system so that the players don’t have to fake something which isn’t there^^

Hi all,

To me GvG was one of the best things I’ve ever played in GW1.
I think what GW2 lacks is the option to improve together as a Team. I’m not at all interested in a person based outgame ladder on a website (which only displays how much somebody plays and not how good).

Furthermore the reward progression in GW1 in the hall of heroes was much better then here -where it’s non existent- . (you got 1 fame point for the first win and 2 for the second up to 64 if I remember correctly^^). That means that people who win more (consecutive) gain more points faster and that means that the good players have higher ranks. Today the rank only is an indicator of playtime.

So to make it short my proposal for GvG:

- Make the PvP maps usable as guildhalls (means: simply call the existing maps guild halls) ; A guildleader can choose one PvP map as homemap. When the GvG starts the team with lower ranking plays on it’s own map.
- Implement a guildladder system like in GW1. (+3 if you win against a much better opponent, -1 if you loose, +2, -2 if opponent had same ranking. etc. for example)
- Implement a matchmaking system based on that ladder (searches for ranks roughly around your guilds rank)
- Add EU AND NA servers to that ladder (if possible).
- Add an NPC to the guildhall like the tourneymaster where you can start GvGs
- it’s only possible to enter the guildhall if you represent (which is obvious, but it also has the effect that there are full guildteams)

The proposal for Tourneys:

- Splitt tourneys in “Team” and “Solo”.
- Solo tourneys are 5v5 matches and are not accessible with 2 or more people in the same team. (something like random arenas)
- Normal tourneys are only accessible with a premade team of 5 people.
- Add a reward system with kickout;
Both arenas have a map rotation (3 maps or more). You enter and if you win you get 50 points for example (for the first win + a chest with fewer items). If you get a consecutive win (second win) you get 100 points. That will add up until you have a reward cap for consecutive wins (maybe 12 consecutive wins 1200 points. ). If you lose you get kicked out.

So let me know what you think and discuss.

I think especially GvG (with ladder! means: the possibility to improve as a team/guild) would improve PvP immensely.

Activity: Almost every day. (currently not playing because of heavy lags of 2 members since the update)

Website: No website. We are a guild with 6 members and discuss our stuff directly ingame and/or in TS.

We have our core team (as you may think of our number of 6 people), so we don’t recruit.
