It really doesn’t change the fact that you want them to not add something that a large group of people may want to pursue that will have no affect on you, simply because you don’t like the idea of other Legendary gear.

Please explain how this makes any sense.

Because legendaries dont show how good or experienced you are in the game.
It’s shows how much you have been farming, or how much of trading post playing you have done, or how much luck you had once.

I would say severing an artery, be it millimeters thick or centimeters thick, it still severing an artery.. we should be able to crit really

Its an undead dragon, what does it care for arteries? Not to mention that our swords probably cant reach deep enough to criticaly hurt dragon artery since its behind alot of flesh.

I can kill stones with a sword, i can make stones bleed, i can poison stone. Doing crit damage to a big boss? Now i’m talking crazyyy :p

Well, Berserker builds are probably the most OP specialization in the game, so it’s nice to see the Soldiers and Knights get a chance to shine

When i run a berserker build, why cant i do crit damage to Tequatl? I sacrafice health and defence for it… In the past it really wasn’t a problem. But now it is. Are we all supposed to run around in vit/though armor?

PS same problem with conditions.

All duration stacking boons(Aegis, Fury, protection, Regeneration, Retaliation, Swiftness, and Vigor) and conditions(Blind, Burning, Chilled, Cripple, immobilze(now stacks duration), and Poison) now stack to a maximum of 5 times.

Look again.. this is a HUGE nerf to the Warrior alone.

Perhaps you are right a bit, but its hard too see how this change will play out.
But in my eyes it looks like the aoe conditions spam is going to have a glorious time.

This entire thread is literally a double-edged sword. From experience, when Devs are b@lls deep with the community, and not getting what they want, all you hear is “get back to the drawing board and actually work!”

But, when the Devs are working their kitten of, and not as open with the community, we QQ and ask for more communication.

It has been openly said; MULTIPLE TIMES, that after Pax has been settled you WILL see balance patches.

Now, so you know, the Devs are always fishing through streams and forums looking for feedback. As a matter of fact, think about every class/spec we’ve considered OP since launch. They have been fixed/changed/balanced to meet the communities requests. It will be NO different from the current meta as well.

Slack is needed, QQ is not.

1 = you don’t know how hard they work…
2 = "all you hear is “get back to the drawing board and actually work!” " — So because some players say that, that is what “the community” thinks?
3 = no QQ"er yet. Your first one in the thread. :/
4 = “We don’t believe in changing too much prior to a major tourny we’re invested in.” -Peters -- they broke that statement
5 = i’m sure they look at the forums, but yet have to see something of it being used

I hate it to, but isn’t that what a ranger pet is supposed to do? Its an animal, it will find you The ranger main special. Just like eles who can switch between 4 sets of 5 skills, or thief with stealth and etc.

Why does the class balance team not talk with the players? I can understand all other teams not doing it too much, but the balance team should talk and discuss with the players on the forum A LOT.

With 2 people they can’t master/fully understand every class, they need help from the (top)players.

ATM it is going downhill in a race carr. As an example, I think ’’every’’ player would have told them not to give necro more conditions.
I’m seriously thinking that they should bring everything back to how it was when gw2 launched (exept for the bugs ofc). And change stuff from there on with help from the players.

This is not a ’’I’m sooooo angry, I hate them’’ thread.
This is a ’’I’m really concerned’’ thread.

Staf and robes, full-time enemies!

I’m playing an ele and i have to wear robes and i have to wear a staff.
Problem: the way my character holds his staf in his hands it goes through my leg armor.
I have to take some really tiny pants to counter this…
The problem is that the staff stands really near my character’s feet.
Can’t they make the staff point in an angle of 90 degrees to the ground?

The living story is nice, but it’s like they are forgetting something.
If i walk trough a already existing zone, does it feel alive? Yes and no.
Yes because of the dynamic events.
No because… what do i see?
1. Death npc’s everywhere. A charr getting owned by a pig..
Npc’s have to win from certain mobs (or always when fighting 1vs1). What when you need to defend a village? Npc’s are down in no-time, and not just because the enemy is with so many more then them.
Escort event? Forget it.
Higher the damage and health of npc’s please.

2. Why is there no night in Tyria? Now some players are screeming against their monitor ‘’look to the sky, there is night!!!’‘. Yeah just and only in the sky, landcape is always sunny. If something would give me the feeling of a living world, it would be day/night. I don’t want a dark place like the Ice Shaman fractal (in the forest). But enlightened by moon and stars. I remember to have seen some night in a trailer, but i never encountered it ingame.

3. Timers of dynamic events. (if there is a timer)
I rescued a village, walking away its getting attacked. Rescued it, walk away and its getting attacked again. It really ruins the feeling of ‘’i rescued this village, i’m a hero ^^’’

4. Some extra events in some area’s. Because there are some places where nothing happens.

If they fix/add this in game, I believe I would have the feeling of being in a living world. But atm the world is kind of death.

If the Molten Facility and Aetherblade Retreat are an indication of how they plan to design future dungeons (and, more importantly – revamp existing dungeons), then I have no concern – the future is bright.

That said, I think there are several mechanics they can incorporate more often to make dungeons more fun and engaging.

The two things that could be improved are a. how much teamwork is required to down a boss and b. the need for player reaction in fights (outside of simply dodging out of a red circle).

For teamwork, I would point to the last fight in the dredge fractal, Mai Trin, the Taskmaster in SE path 2 or Ghost Eater as prime examples.

For reactive fights, the best examples are Giganticus Lupicus, the last boss in SE Story, and War Minister Shukov in SE path 2.

To the point of CCs – yes, I would like to see them have a greater impact on dungeon fights, but there are other mechanics they could take advantage of as well – environmental levers/weapons, player placement, boss placement (kiting and keeping a boss in/away from a particular area), the need for target switching, add management.

While there is a place for “dps boss while avoiding red circles,” I would like to see more diversity in the fights.

Finally, the one thing I don’t like is dungeons that are obviously designed for pugs who never type or talk to one another. While there is a place for that kind of gameplay, I would love to see at least 2 of the 3 paths in each dungeons designed for actual team gameplay (note that I am not saying anti-PUG, but rather anti- "PUGS who refuse to communicate).

Aetherblade Retreat = loved it, did it like 20 times
Molten Facility = hated the easy trash mobs and the first boss was way too easy. 2nd boss was fantastic!
But its made by the people of the living story teams, so i’m affraid they wil not be the ones to really ’’fix’’ the dungeons.

An important part of teamwork was always in the trinity (not that i want that).
Giganticus lupicus is obviously the dungeon boss who took most time creating, can’t see them do that with all bosses.

That beeing said, you make good points. Hope we will see that when they release a new dungeon. But i believe, for the existing dungeons, we can’t expect big mechanical changes. Only changed numbers.

Shouldn’t that be some kind of alert that boss damage output is too low?
Btw, i dont ask for more 1-shot attacks, but for an higher total amount of damage output.

Don’t do them with five berserker warriors…probably solved. If you’re not having fun, change what you’re doing.

By changing it so five berserker warriors have more trouble you’re screwing everyone who doesn’t use five berserker warriors. The game can’t reasonably be balanced arount this.

But there are alot of bosses that have a high frequency of attacks. So i believe thats not for al bosses the solution.

I honestly can’t think of a boss with high attack frequency. By “high” I mean ones that attacks as fast as players. Most feel like they are attacking at around half the speed of players.

As for the AoE circles. They could remove them but then they’ll have to replace the animation for many of them since they use the same animation as player skills. Without the circles it becomes confusing. Let say I am fighting an ice elemental with a teammate who is an ele using a scepter and shatterstone shows up. Do I stay or leave? In theory it would be 50/50 split for being helpful and harmful but in pracitice it would mean teaming up or fighting near an ele would be undesirable.

It is bad enough with the circles. Fighting Vevina alongside a staff mesmer can be very confusing and I don’t mean the condition! How about Diplomat Tarban with someone using Feedback? “There are 4 feedback bubbles, 1 is helpful the other 3 might kill me. Do I feel lucky today?”

There is a place for clarity and a place for “battlefield confusion” but I am not sure where that line should be drawn.

Cof path 1 boss has quick attacks i believe.. Problem is that he doesn’t have any range attacks. (perhaps this one does need some more hp)

Beside that, many bosses have alot of aoe attacks. But ofc the aoe circles prefend me from having a hard time. CoE anyone? dodging againt the wall after 2/3 seconds when you see the aoe circles.

For the confusing problem.. Perhaps white circle for our own and other players? Or give it a little bit different collor? THAT must be the problem the devs had with the aoe attacks! Many games give mobs and bosses special aoe attacks anyway, but would be a little bit too much to ask for an attack from all the mobs remake :P
Boss attacks that are avaible to players have red circles and other boss attacks not? Or would cause that too much confusion?

I would advise devs to try in 1 dungeon to speed up the attacks and remove some of the aoe circles. That could make it really interesting (looking at you cof path 1).

Yey dungeon gold rewards + better boss rewards!

I think this is a really good move, but there is something more important imo…
Are you also going to lower the hp of bosses and make the damage higher?

I dont play in dungeons alot because the most bosses are boring hp tanks. And getting hit by a boss is rarely a problem. There is no real need for other mechanics; just higher damage. (And lower the amounts of hp).

Just my opinion ^^

1. I would like to have the possibility to go in 1st person mode. Cool to play in and a need for good screenshots.

2. Could we get an option to lower/higher the position of the camera. ATM i can only move it to the right and the left. IMO the camera is too low.

Aoe circles in the barrage fase are bugged.
I get damage when standing outside them.

I also have a guestion, does the damage that you get from flying balls count?

Except at 7:04 you can see that he has 3 armor pieces hidden.

But yea I’m sure this post is legit.

The Dragon Bash festival wings animation goes through almost every schoulder armor. (both versions of the wings)
-I would like an option to disable the animation (freeze it).
-Or change the animation of the wings themself.

The wings looks are awesome, but atm the animation makes them less good.

pets healing too much on downed rangers

I got a ranger down, pet started healing him.
I was like wtf and i used every attack i had.
But the pet was healing sooo much.
The ranger got up and killed me.

2nd time
Ranger down, pet starts healing and i use all my attacks on the pet.
But it has too much health to get him down in time.
Ranger up, heals pet and i run away ofc, wait… bind, dead. :/

Is it just me? RTL range feels shorter than 1200. But I think it’s almost there so that’s not that big of a deal. What got me kitten was that blocks,evades and invul all make it go to a 40 second recharge. Which is so lame. Only usefulness out of it now is to disengage a battle.

Custom arenas are coming and we, the members of Dragons in Exile [DIE], are really excited!
We have a request: could we get a custom arena (BETA) next update (30 April)?

Dragons in Exile is a Dutch speaking pvx- guild in the Far Shiverpeaks server with 500 active members. The players we have in our guild are casual, semi-hardcore and hardcore. We already existed in gw1 with the name revolution23 and have been playing gw2 since the first beta. In other words, the DIE core loves Guild Wars! We are really organized and motivated. As an example: in a guild event like guild challenge we have around 70 players up in TS. Because of this good organization, we were the first in the world to finish Guild Bounty tier 3.

So far, we have had every week 1-2 spvp events, doing tournaments or hot-join. Since launch we have been waiting for the custom arenas, so we could make better events, see how to play and defeat certain professions and learn pve-members that spvp can be really fun too if you know how to play it!

Wouldn’t it be a good idea if a pvx-guild with not all hardcore spvp players could test the custom arenas for you? How will it be used in a pvx-guild? How much success will it have? How useful is it?

We would have a lot of fun using/testing this custom arena and give you some good feedback. I made a support ticket first, but GM Vagrant told me i had to post it here, because otherwise i can’t reach the development team.
We are looking forward to your (possible) answer, hoping for the best.

hello,
my question is: why would i take a ascended item with a defensive or offensive slot instead of one with an utility slot?

Offensive infusion (only on offensive slot):
Mighty Infusion Basic +4 Power
Mighty Infusion Fine +5 Power +5 agony

Utility infusions (only on utility slot)
Magical Infusion Fine +20% magic find

Omni infusions (can be put on every slot)
Versatile Simple Infusion Basic +5 agony
Versatile Mighty Infusion Fine +5 Power +5 agony

utilty slots can get offensive statts, defensive statts and utility statts….
