It’s going to be tough, you are going to want to try to fight as many different classed enemies as you can to start with, they will almost always use a meta build so after a few battles you will learn how the skills work, playing alone you will be teamed up with people who may be great or terrible.
I would suggest picking someone on your team and staying with them for your first few tries, you will be approached with a bit more caution and have an ally to help you as well.
It can be fun at times but at other times not so much, don’t forget that if you stay til the end you will get rewards so even if you are losing if you have been in the match from the start and done an alright job it adds into your track list exp.
It is best to use a meta build, not sure if you will like it or not but they are really the only ways you can stand a chance in pvp, It is one of the things I don’t enjoy about pvp as in gw 1 there where many Builds that worked in pvp so many different people but on this it just seems that if you want to win you have to use these weapons and these exact skills with 1 or 2 variations but that’s just the way it is.
Once you’ve played for a while you will know what classes you feel capable of facing and what you are not so experiance can only make you better xD
And most importantly try to have fun xD
Oh and be careful of anyone playing one of the advanced specs from HoT, I find they can be quite a challenge sometimes :P
Only issue I have with ii now are that it’s day 2 of raids and already people are only looking for exp and asking you to show them your gear before you will even be considered, or even people not going to let you join them unless you have Legendary armour already.
I play with my friend, we have enjoyed the core game and also the expansion (Though short) and we have been able to play how we want and build our characters how we like, We intend to do all the content aside from pvp so this obviously means we will do raids but now you can’t just go in with anyone and find a good way to make your builds work together not have to change it not because the boss only takes conditions.
I do like that you need an actual tank in your party now and like the stand on the lightning spot or it goes off sort of things but as I have not the best of luck when it comes to getting decent item drops to turn into globs and money for me on it is a relatively slow trickle it will be a very long time before I attempt it again, if I even bother, it is starting to feel like when I played ff14 ARR where I had to grind and reach my caps for the week to be able to do the new content being released where it then turns what used to be fun into a choir.
I will at least do it one and hopefully then I will have a better opinion of the raid.
See you out their xD
Best advice I can give is to change up your specs, weapons, utilities and stats, it worked for me at the least (Ranger using longbow and staff) plus I go around with a partner (Necro)
Keira Wildflower what class are you currently playing? And how do you play it (Main stats, weapons and such) then I can see if there is anything I know that could help XD
SPOILERS BELOW
They have lived a long time but they have never been pushed to the edge or even beaten, they underestimate their adversary thinking that they will obey their will, I like the end as it shows that the Sylvari are not just weak willed puppets and that they may have been born as his minions but during their time on Tyria they have became much more and it gives Trahearne the chance to show how strong his will and conviction are, and the pacts as well.
I think that after the Elder Dragons other threats may emerge, the Chak for instance? plus maybe whilst Tyria has been seperated new enemies have been in Cantha and Elona.
I think they should have an LS3 where maybe a fragment of Mordremoth remains and you need to put it down once and for all, plus a funeral for the fallen.
Just a few ideas xD
I enjoyed the story, it could have been better and fleshed out a bit more. Especially with the nightmare court, have us work with them and Faolain as we have hardly any pact soldiers left, have the nightmare court assaulted and faolain captured and had Eir trying to defend faolain and dying valiantly with faolain being taken.
My biggest thing was that faolain and the nightmare court could have played such a bigger role, maybe see Caithe actually getting through to her an Faolain lightening up a little before being taken and turned but overall I enjoyed the story non the less.
I really hope the next expansions they bring out they will give us more areas, although what we got made sense but I get this feeling that the next 4 dragons are going to be crammed into the Tyria map as well, not spread out over Cantha and Elona but maybe the Elder dragons are only the beginning and other forces are stirring in these other continents.
Looking forward to what will come of the ending.
Played a small amount and I have to say I enjoyed using the Reaper (just did a quick slap together build to test it out) and the Revenant is much improved from the last time, and with the added Assassin legend it has some real damage behind it now. I enjoyed the look of the new area, have not played too much.
I noticed that in the new area the enemies are dealing alot of damage, this was on revenant and I had 3000+ toughness and about 24000 hp and I could take about 2 mordrem enemies on at once but anything more could be a little challenging. The Mordrem with the twin dagger, not usre of their name but they share Caithes skill set it seems, managed to still keep damaging me though I was using the block skill with the staff on Revenant . Also the Revenant Laceration effect does not say what it actually does so I am not sure if it was actually doing anything or not.
I have enjoyed the Revenant greatly so far and enjoy that it has been improved and feel it is getting on its way but I feel like it needs at least another ranged weapon as atm it only has the hammer, which is good, but I feel it should have at least another with its basic 1 combo being a more mist related attack where the hammer one is pure power by throwing it. I only tested the Shiro and Ventari legends today and I felt that the shiro one is fantastic and same with Ventari though its regen buff range could be a tad larger as I am basically hugging it to get the effects and that the regen offers a little more restored hp or gaining a greater amount of restoration the closer you are to it maybe, I love how you can tell it where to go, that is just brilliant.
As more events go they will add more classes to test new things with, they are just giving them to us as and when they have made progress with them and feel that the consumer should try it out and see if it works how they intended it to.
I have enjoyed trying it but I agree with everyone, it needs alot of work, it does not last long enough in combat, deals too little dps, needs weapon swapping (They may be adding this anyway but it still badly needs it for the damage it is doing now) and I feel like the staff should be quicker than it currently is. And it needs less cast times and especially a shorter time for the dwarf elite as I am dying whilst casting or getting interrupted.
Still enjoyed the class and hope to enjoy it more when it is out and with more balancing xD And this is just a personal though but I feel the staffs should be longer as they seem too small when I used them on my human Rev at least and maybe a few utility skill options so everyRev isn’t using the same dwarf spirit skills etc otherwise every build is going to be the exact same and add in more speed as I feel like a rock when trying to chase after someone or away from them.
