umm I was at work last night. I didn’t confirm anything, I’m simply guessing based on the opinions presented here… heck to be perfectly honest i think DH is a good fit in the 4/5 tier area. As Ambrosiaa pointed out these servers are actually fairly even.

So as you may also notice in my sig, I’m not even lvl 80 yet. Personally, I enjoy reading the banter on forums almost as much as I enjoy actually playing the game. Not to be confused with trolling or flaming, just banter. Ok, so that being said, I obviously can’t speak for my guild, I’m just one of many people in it. I do know that the mess on last weeks WWW match with like 5 topics that got locked started with the honerable DH getting mad at Maguuma for using these tactics. Guuma basically said they were tactics used in higher tiers and if DH wanted to keep moving up, they should adapt. Clearly some of DH, as well as some of VIP, listened to this. Me, I’m just a ranger tryin not to embarass himself too much out there. Honestly, even when I take my thief out I don’t use dagger off-hand much less exploit the whole invisible thing. There’s my two cents before my posting leads to bashing on VIP which they may or may not deserve. Time to go play.

Oh and just for the record I joined them after they transferred. Been on DH myself since I work 3rd shift and heard they were “night cappers” honestly I started with Devona lol

Darkhaven was also known for their off-hours crew. Either CD has a much better one or we have been too busy with the Halloween stuff, not sure which but this has been a bit of an eye-opening weekend.

^^ agreed. They even have the perfect story already in place at lvl 59 when all the orders work together. Just let us wear any orders armor/weapons at that point.

Hate to sound like I’m making excuses, honestly the score doesn’t affect my mindset when I’m wvw anyways, but I wonder if all the Halloween stuff is keeping people away until the score is out of reach?

Darkhaven is an up-and-coming server who has finally met another night capping server. Yes the score doesn’t look pretty at the moment, but this is what happens when you get a tier 5 server moving into the big time at the same time a tier 2/3 server falls down for a week. Gotta give CD props, they’re good. Just don’t expect Darkhaven to quit.

your priory theory does seem a bit more realistic. whispers isn’t dark, just secretive. They really just have a lot of political connections which they use to influence the world. Although you may want to keep in mind that the whispers are the oldest of the orders so they may have some historical things for your necro to find as well.

Edge of Destiny is really a great read right around lvl 30ish so you can understand the back story of Destiny’s Edge right when you first meet them.

Yes, Pangie, I am looking forward to the Halloween event. Too bad I have to work tonight, but I’ll definitely be checking it out in the morning. I would comment on other things said here, but they all have their own posts for a reason…

eh, I’m not so sure the flame war will restart just yet. I see valid points made here, and while some of them have been discussed before, everyone seems rather mature about it. I do agree that there is probably a very large difference between PUGs in a zerg and the organized guilds, but that is why we must always be trying to teach our PUGs cuz everyone was a noob at some point.

Oh and since I happened to get into the [VIP] guild last night, I’m not sure if this was ever actually mentioned, but right on the Message of the Day for the guild it says they moved to Darkhaven and everyone has til the end of the month to move or get kicked from the guild. So no they aren’t spying, they just haven’t all moved yet due to the server probably being full. Ok, time to work on updating the sig with some PvE leveling. Hope this topic is still civil when I get back to reading it.

why not just have free transfers only be allowed once per round? pick a server at the start and stay there win or lose til its over…

Time for a little outside perspective. Yes I’m from Darkhaven but I just transferred there a few days ago because I work 3rd shift and the “night capping” is actually my peak time and I kinda like playing with people on WvW instead of empty maps.
Anywho, just read through the entire previous post after playing all night mostly in Maguuma Borderlands with a little time in EB as well when the queue let me. And I gotta say, if something is such a horrible exploit, then ANet will get around to fixing it. Until then, I totally understand why higher tiered servers would use whatever they can even if it is taking advantage of culling. Honestly, I didn’t really see it much last night although Maguuma did have a decent force all night long, I don’t believe we ever actually held their entire map for more than a few minutes.
So from someone recently transferred from lowly Devona’s Rest into the slightly bigger time, “All’s fair in love and war” culling, night capping, any other excuse you want to come up with, the better servers should learn how to combat against these “exploits” instead of whining and complaining about them.
Oh, and outta curiosity, does DH have any WvW orientation classes? that sounds like another very good idea we could learn from Guuma.

OK good to know that this Kaineng domination is just due to me playing at a different time than usual. Time for a nap before my usual overnight adventure retaking our home.
