Hate to burst your bubble, but lvl 60 is about where all the stories combine into Trahearne’s Story aka the battle to take back Orr from Zhaitan. I hope you still love the personal story when you get to this point. Too much negativity here…

If only they would have made a fight like the one with the Ancient Karka instead. Make it soloable with a ton of NPCs lead by Destiny’s Edge instead of other players. That would be an awesome end to the story.

so how does whining on the forums solve this problem? I got a bunch of exotics for heavy and light and i wear medium. Who Cares? I enjoyed the event and will eventually get the gear I want by playing this game I enjoy. So I wasn’t lucky enough to get a precursor, or even exotics in my own class… don’t like it play something else.

Well it appears we are on track for getting a rematch next week so all the complaining about the event changing things won’t apply then. And for those thinking I was complaining earlier, I apologize for not including FA’s PvE community in that as well. Every server took a WvW hit this weekend, and now things can get back to normal hopefully.

Shout-outs to everyone on the overflow I was on. May have started out a little ugly, but we all enjoyed it I think. I know I did. GJ ANet on a great finale.

I absolutely LOVED this stage. My guild kinda did the opposite, we got on as many different overflows as possible it seemed, but it was great comparing notes and the ones that were further in it kept encouraging the others. I loved the exotic loot even though I didn’t really get anything I could use, but the event itself was arguably the best three hours I’ve spent on this game. I even enjoyed the beginning part where my entire overflow kept dying lol. I haven’t gotten around to doing Arah yet, but this event is a perfect description of how epic bosses, aka dragons, should be fought. If only Arah could be a story instance with a zerg of NPCs lead by Destiny’s Edge, but I’m getting off topic. Great job ANet you deserve a break to spend Thanksgiving with your families and I look forward to what you come up with for Wintersday.

Hopefully this area will be filled up a little better after today’s finale. As of now it is a beautiful, empty farm land.

Unfortunately the new area and new dungeon aren’t going to go away so the large PvE/RP populations of Yak’s and TC aren’t coming back any time soon. Cheers to all the hardcore WvWers still keeping up the good fight.

It’s only stable at the upper echelons. ET and HoD have both been dropping a tier every single week. And this week in T3, a server that moved up from T4 is winning.

Tier 3 consists of 4 servers not 3. FA, Yak’s, TC, and CD are all evenly matched and one always will end up in tier 4 for a week. So FA leading the tier 3 match currently just shows how even it really is.

These weapons are entirely cosmetic people. Skins… that’s it. If you can’t get them then you aren’t part of the hardcore-skin obsessed crowd anyways. I fail to see the problem here.

umm. 1) Commanders do show up on map. 2) if your guild is looking to get into WvW aka doesn’t have server loyalty yet, might I suggest a smaller server where there are not many queues and it is quite easy to get on the same map, say just about ALL of them?

I’m on Yak’s Bend and no this isn’t necessarilly a recuitment for it, but I have never seen queues except on friday nights right after reset and we are in Tier 3 out of 8 so I’m sure it is the same way for all the lower servers as well.

Gotta love the weekly forum soap opera… That said, I do think this is a very awesome matchup between 3 servers that kinda love to hate each other. Is there bad blood between Yak’s and FA? Yea probably, but that is what happens when you face the same people multiple times, and I think it is a very good thing for WvW. Not so much for the WvW forums though… quit arguing here and get out there and kill some sprites that have that other server’s names hanging above them. I promise you will all feel better if you do.

Yes I agree. One run through zombie land is plenty enough for me. I never want to see another risen again. :P

Its because the personal story isn’t one story, it is a group of stories that start over every 10 levels or so until you hit the 50’s and it becomes Trahearne’s story. So at this point you are in Trahearne’s story and none of the npcs know or care about what happened in your stories before that. Welcome to the biggest complaint in this section of the forum, well that and the whole forcing us to do Arah…

They also lowered the damage rate for the Cloak and Dagger Thief skill in PvP only. I believe this includes WvW since that is where this skill is considered an exploit.

It will probably be similar to when the Mad King busted out of the statue in Lion’s Arch. One-time cinimatic to start the three-day long event. It is an odd time though. At least the finale is on a Sunday

CD is the only server not named HoD or ET moving down with a lot of unmoving servers. And no this isn’t a bash on CD. I’ve said and heard it said various places that tier 3 right now consists of 4 servers not 3 and next week is CD’s turn to take a breather and smash poor tier 4.

Unfortunately, right now there are 4 servers who really fit in nicely in Tier 3 for the NA matchup: Tarnished Coast, Crystal Desert, Yak’s Bend, and Fort Aspenwood. All these servers are very evenly matched and it causes tier 3 to have some of the most even scoring and exciting matchups in WvW. Problem is the odd server out each week tends to absolutely dominate tier 4. That’s what happened this week. Throwing in HoD continuing to fall has just made the situation much worse. Unfortunatly for our friends on Darkhaven next week will possibly be more of the same from Crystal Desert instead of FA, but at least Maguuma will move up to keep things a little more balenced.

As a Gandara player I have to offer my condolences to Jade Sea for having been the subject of such disgustingly cowardly behavior.

Anyone care to explain how a Charr Elementalist/Mesmer fits into this Lore? Wouldn’t they have to join Flame Legion instead of being allowed into the other ones?

I would much rather have Sieran or Tybalt than boring old Trahearne. Boringness aside, why do we have a necromancer in the newest race in the game suddenly an expert on all things zomb… err i mean “Risen”? Seems like a conflict of interest having a necromancer killing undead, not that he does much killing anyways since he is worthless in battle and usually dies near the beginning. I think a game of Mad King Says is in order. "Your Mad King Says… say the word “Claw” correctly. Oh sorry Trahearne, time to die!" smh

That would be one of I believe 5 Dagger/Dagger Elementalists that Fort Asp has. They are all very skilled and very dangerous, however they are not a hack. Check out the build on YouTube, completely legit.

I gotta disagree. Personally, I am looking forward to a fight with Kralkatorrik more. Zhaitan just reminded me too much of all the other zombie games out there.

what you have here is a few servers have US players playing on EU servers and vice versa against servers who are a EU or US true server.

So tell the “true servers” to get some help from the other region. Problem solved. I really don’t understand this argument whatsoever. Every server is already international no need to combine the ladders and force a killed ping. You say the NA guilds on EU servers are fighting doors? Get those doors some defenders from the NA. Yak’s was totally dominating their match this week after the weekend. Then a combination of NA players on Fort Asp burning the night oil and possibly some help from EU made our match interesting again. If you want your server to compete, work for it and get some help from the other regions. 24/7 is 24/7 not 18/7 or 10/7…

The last personal story mission is a dungeon so I’m pretty sure they will be there then to assist with the dragon…

I like this idea, but retroactive would be a bit difficult. Rather they could make a post saying we have say, a week, to pick a server then no more free transfers. When free transfers stop server ranks begin. If you wanna bandwagon then it is that much more difficult to be one among many in tier 1, if you wanna be the underdog go to fergie and be their leader who brings them up the ranks. The possibilities are there for everyone even though the servers obviously aren’t even. One snag would be server’s such as ET that are way above their weight currently. Maybe a reset of the ranking system as well? Start WvW fresh.

They were literally seconds away from killing Kralkatorrik without him, and the part he was supposed to cover is the reason they failed… sounds to me like there is a pretty kitten good chance they would have succeed with him there. And Jenna saved herself with her mesmer skills anyways so she technically didn’t even need him there.

On the other hand, I think the branded areas are some of the coolest parts to the game and am much looking forward to the time we get to kill Ole’ Kraky instead

While I agree completely with everyone here and hate Trahearne with a passion, I do find it kinda funny people on the PvE forums are convinced ANet only cares about PvP while people on the WvW forums think ANet only cares about PvE. At least here in PvE we are getting content updates and bug fixes. WvW devs might as well be ghosts with the numerous unanswered problems over there.

So wombat is saying that Yak’s had a population spike because it jumped 6 spots a couple weeks ago. Well then where are all of FA’s new people using that theory? FA just jumped 5 spots this week…

YB TC CD sounds like a very interesting match-up. Last week showed CD and DH are both strong-willed servers just like Yak’s who won’t quit no matter the score. So even if TC edges out the lead Yak’s and CD wont quit.

The best part is… we only built that many because he cried about it the night before.

Umm the Yak’ s night crew is a little sore after last week’s thrashing by CD so its kinda nice to be on top? And maybe they don’t have a better use for their gold since both the other servers are non-existant this time of night.

Not sure on this, but I think resets are based on GMT and it doesn’t change for DST

I dunno Sieran was fairly developed in the Priory. She was definitely not Tybalt, but she is better than Snoreherne. OP is right. I enjoy hearing my male Sylvari talk, but Traeherne sounds like that high school math teacher whose class you slept through because he was so boring.

Better question. Why does Traeherne even exist? They have a book and a huge backstory to famous people in each race that are way more interesting than this guy, yet they get relegated to dungeon story mode? Destiny’s Edge should be the glory thieves if anyone, at least that would be a story worth watching.

Actually those bodies would have only been at the bottom of the ocean for 148 years, not quite so decayed although it still seems unlikely that there was much for Zhaitan to use. But it has been over 100 years since Zhaitan rose, so maybe he has been collecting bodies from elsewhere in this time?

I see a lot of blue and green on all the maps. Not double-teaming IoJ so much as IoJ can’t compete with them so they fighting each other for right to take out IoJ. Hmm, to attack the other server who is just as good or pick on the weak one. Which makes more sense?

I believe GMT doesn’t change with daylight savings time so it should still be the same time depending on the time change in your area.

All the hearts have a NPC that explains why you are doing them.

^^ Yes WvW kills will be annoying to PvE players but it will take much less time then countless dungeon runs (and waiting for dungeon groups to form) for WvW players. I would actually like to try dungeons, would love to see Destiny’s Edge’s story in game, but can never find a group when I’m on except for all the really high lvl dungeons.

I’m pretty sure that most people casual or not look at the wiki. You can access it in-game plus there is a link from the main page. I got screwed by this as well since I had assumed ANet did everything based on pacific time since most the game is based that way. But having it end GMT also makes perfect sense for a WORLDWIDE game. Oh well, now we know and sitting here arguing about it isn’t solving anything. Its not a bug or a problem, you just assumed incorrectly. Not their problem IMO.

Just feel like mentioning that in the current Crystal Desert, Yak’s Bend, Darkhaven matchup each server has its own peak time where it seems to take over the board. The score difference is entirely because CD’s time is slightly longer. Look at the forum topic past couple days, nothin but a lovefest from every server talking about how awesome this week of WvW has been as all three servers have had a presence 24/7 yet none have truely dominated. This is what ANet wants out of WvW now we just need to even up all the other servers so that every match can be like this one.

Not quite live, and kept up by the players not the devs, but there is a decent score tracking website already.

I’m not a programmer or anything, but in theory, they already have a ranking system for PvP can’t they just incorporate that into WvW somehow?

hmm tired europeans pulling an all-nighter vs a NA guild playing in NA daytime. Yea don’t like your chances unfortunately.

Actually Yak’s had quite the showing in the overnight hours. DH’s famous night crew seems to be lacking a little this week, but really all three servers have had a very even match. True there are times such as this where CD controls the map and the scores reflect that, but take those away and the score would be as exciting as the actual fighting has been.

that’s a little outdated. DH and Yak’s are both making a strong dayside run with Yak’s having recently taken SM from CD.

Believe it or not, DH has a decent night/early morning crew. Problem is we haven’t been showing up much this week. Here’s hoping this is a sign that once the Halloween festivities are over, DH can ignore the score and scrape up some much needed dignity to end the week.
