Currently, many players are of the opinion that to balance the elementalist, the base cooldown of attunements should be reduced in order to alleviate the elementalist’s dependence on the arcane trait line. I believe that this would be a poor change to, and it would irrevocably damage elementalists as a profession. Here is why…
As appealing as the idea may appear at first glance, please do not encourage the developers to reduce the base cooldown of attunements. Once made, a change like that would be difficult to undo, and it would not lead to the betterment of the class.
I read your thread, and it has many solid points, but I stand by what I said and disagree (Anyone who hasn’t go read it). The original intent of the Elementalist, at least for Guild Wars 2, was simply to be the master of the elements. Anet has stated multiple times that they want players to do the dance you spoke of (Very poetic ). They want players to cycle through attunements, and do not support staying in one attunement. I do agree with your point that we should be able to stay in the role we want to fulfull, not have to switch from DPS to heals because of extended cooldowns, but Anet has stated that is not their intent.
And so, I stand by my thoughts:
1. Reduce base attunement swap CD’s.
2. Raise base health so traiting into water isn’t a must.
3. Reduce CD’s of weapon skills.
4. Rearrange Arcana traits so Elemental Attunement and Evasive Arcana are easily accessible, allowing for more varied builds. (5 points and 20 points respectively?)
You stated the proposals, listed above, would “treat a symptom, but isn’t a cure”, as it would homogenize our playstyle. Anet is content with out playstyle, and based on what you said, should go ahead and make these changes.
I have come up with a great idea. (Just came to me, don’t judge!)
Why not remove conjured weapons out of utility slots, and put them into your trait tree?
For example, in fire, you put in 10 points, and your fire attunement skills would be switched with the fire axe’s. Put 10 into water, and you’re water would be switched with the Ice Bow’s. (These being optional of course)
Again, there are issues with useless skills/reskins of skills, but that can be worked around.
A D/D ele could now have ranged in water attunement, and a Staff Ele’s could have melee-ranged options, etc. We could take it even further and allow players to choose what attunements are swapped with which weapons, allowing people to “switch attunements” yet specialize in what role they want to play.
Imagine an Ele with D/D Fire attunement skills, and Water + Earth Attunements were swapped with Fire Axe and Fiery Greatsword.
Just an idea, I think it’s great

I lol’ed at that thread. Gratz for getting carried!
In pvp, Ele can be built to be a very effective burster on the level of a thief.
Erm, what?
Show me an ele doing 7-`13k hits like thief can with press of one button.
Sure, fresh air isn`t too bad, but it also is a one trick pony.
You blow those cds, you`re done.
Thief blows its cds, it can just stealth & come right back at you.
He’s right. Yes Ele’s can’t land single crits like that, but it’s the compliation of a combo chain.
S/D Burst Chain
Air 1, Air 2, Lightning Flash, Updraft, Dragon’s Tooth, Phoenix, Ring of Fire, Fire Grab, Back to Air, Air 1, Air 2, and Arcane Wave. This is decimate any class that’s not built to bunker, and is easier to pull off than you think. Right now in tPvP, burst Ele is the meta.
His point is we have crazy burst, and we do. Sure it’s a one trick pony, but aren’t most classes? Basically every class ingame has a standard rotation that people will do unless they’re interrupted, including thieves.
With Mag’s rep, #magswag, and siege trolls, I dont see many people xfer’ing here
Thread started to suck but now picking up steam!!
Number 1 Thread NA
You jinxed it, everyone start QQ’ing about server pops!
No, healing on Elementalists is fine the way it is, if not over-powered. The issue is Anet nerfed our abilities to the ground instead of balancing. Our movement skills and stunbreakers got hit hard.
Good morning EBG from DB <3
Q.Q now someone is going to accuse us bragging about the score too, stop producing evidence
Meh, they can shove my lipstick up their nose hole if they do. :P
Kinky, meet me in the mists at 2:00 pm
Dragonbrand QQ’ing about Mag trolling them… comedy
I don’t think it’s intentional either, oh god what have we become?!
Ansorin, you are one of my favorite people on DB, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for you. That being said, perspective is everything, and until you have been on both sides of the coin you only see what you know. I like to think that xferring around has humbled me a bit. You will never see me bragging and chest thumping about wiping anyone anymore. I have wiped guilds WITH dragonbrand, and I have wiped dragonbrand guilds I have gone against. The amount of disrespect shown from the braggards in the ‘EAT conglomeration’ is absurd and I look forward to watching someone knock the collective down a peg or two. Yay, you wiped Agg. So have we! But we have also been bashed in the face by them countless times as well. No need tto get kitteny about it.
I agree. The outbursts were really uncharacteristic of us tbh. Like you said, unless you know both sides of the story – (ex: were they uncalled for ?) – you only know what you know.
Let us not forget the VOIP sabotage and spying that is going on from jericho and AGG. Lets remember the arrogance of 1 guild telling people the “rules” of WvW. These guys have been trolling our Db community since they moved to mags. Appropriate I know considering where they are, but still BS. They tried to rope the bull and got the horns by not realizing that telling people to not do something is the exact way to get them to do something.
So Evalana, butt out. You willingly do not have a dog in this fight due to your migrant status.
Your signature bothers me…capitalize Server, and switch places with Server and Guild.
Well I guess it depends on the sub-forum. Most of my posts are written maturely, but honestly, expect some hate in a WvW matchup thread. And yeah, that is weird, lol

Forums are a separate game for me and only represent a small, albeit vocal, percentage of the actual server’s populace which is why I don’t peg a server/guild for one person’s comment. For me, at least, if people want to go off on the forums, so be it, i’ll read it and probably forget about it in 5 mins – it has no effect on me or the game I play – it only affects the forum game and the personas who participate.
Does [EAT] have an ego? I’d be lying if I said they didn’t – and most other guilds are too if they think they don’t. But we’ve taken our beatings and also handed them out and 99.9% of the time, we’re either quiet about it or give props where they are due – save for a highlight reel at the end of the week. Besides, PvF is boring – YouTube wars are the new meta.
Most guilds with a high-pop have an ego, whether they’d like to admit it or not. I totally agree with you about the forums. The way I talk ingame and on the forums are completely different. Nothing like a little trash talk before a fight
Experienced players, regardless of whether they are in the AoE of Churning Earth or not, will always dodge before it’s activated. This is because, like I said, Ele’s are extremely predictable and people expect the Lightning Flash combo. I never use CE in 1v1’s because you’ll never pull it off against experienced players.
Staff Ele’s excell in Zerg vs. Zerg combat. Shutting down their movement with a Static Field is amazing. However, I do agree that it lacks 1v1 capabilities. There is simply not enough dps do leave a dent. Yes, meteor shower has potentially crazy amounts of damage. However, becaue of the AoE radius (even larger if traited, which you should be), you’ll most likely miss most, if not all of the attacks. I would be satisfied if they buffed the Staff’s auto-attack damage by 100%. It does seem like a lot on paper, but it’s really not that big of a difference from it’s current state.
If any one you haven’t tried S/D Fresh Air , it’s extremely fun, challenging and rewarding. However, having a 10K starting health pool makes you even squishier than thieves and because of that, useless in WvW. I honestly think Thieves and Ele’s should switch health pools. It makes sense when you compare their potential dps and movement capabilities.

RTL should be 1550 range with a 15 second cooldown and no conditional. All healing should work in mist form. Every cantrip should be a stunbreaker.
This is not going to happen nor do I think it should happen.
Stunbreakers need to be split out but spread out properly. I hate having to rely on cantrips they are so boring except for mist form. And Arenanet needs to fix our weapons, traits and elites. I mean Arenanet has a lot of skills from Guild wars 1 that are just begging to be updated and brought over to this game, I see no reason for any class that existed in guild wars 1 to have BAD skills when there is a whole game with skills to steal from.
He’s clearly kidding. It worries me that Anet thought moving a stun-breaker to Signet of Air was a good idea. Both Staff and D/D can achieve perma-swiftness and it renders that utility useless.
One more thing I’d like to say is about Staff Ele. My one and only quarrel with it is the lack of DPS. I think it’d be a great idea if they made it similar to Thief weapons or Ranger Shortbow, where the main source of DPS is from the auto-attack and the other skills are used as utilities. One can only hope though

Balancing isn’t easy, Ele’s need a lot of work, get ready to read
No matter what profession you choose to play, it’s easy to point out it’s flaws and imbalances. Personally, I’ve leveled, tPvP’ed, and WvW’ed my Warrior, Thief, Ele, and Guardian and only brushed over some of the other classes, so I have a good, but not complete understanding of how Elementalists are balanced within the game. I wanted to have a serious discussion, not a rant, so the community can, in a mature manner, express to ArenaNet what we think should be done.
This thread is specifically talking about Ele’s in WvW. I personally have no issues in PvE, or playing my burst ele in tPvP
Feel free to skip this, but let’s break down the core aspects of the Ele
-Low armor, low health pool (usually made up with potentialy great healing)
-Jack-of-all-trades (raw dps, condi, heals, aoe, condi-removal, movement, boons, CC )
-Potential for amazing burst, yet standard 30 water 30 arcane builds severely lack DPS
-One of the most if not the most predictable classes in-game. All of the attacks are well telegraphed and because they only wield one weapon, experienced players can deduce what’s coming next based on their attunement.
-Great support class (Staff has loads of great utility)
-Great bunker (massive condi. remov. and heals, but again, abyssmal dps)
I think that sums it up quite nicely, let’s get on with the program
——————————————————————————————————————
My biggest issue with Elementalists is how Anet chooses to balance the class. In my personal opinion, they seem to nerf what’s OP to ground instead of “balancing”.
Example
Because Ele’s have low armor and low health pools (lower than thief), they rely on other methods to survive. Primarily, movement, cantrips, and heals. A solid D/D Bunker Ele build is 0/10/0/30/30. I will say myself, for a good amount of time after launch, Ele’s were overpowered. They could take on several players and always reset the battle if need be. Now what did Anet do to “balance” them? RTL nerf. Lightning Flash nerf. Mist Form + Utilities (Primarily Ether Renewal) nerf, Cleansing Fire nerf.
They severely nerfed RTL, removed 2 stun-breakers, moving them to unviable skills, and nerfed one of the Ele’s main sources of healing and condi. removal. I don’t understand why Anet has to make drastic changes like these. Does a warrior’s bull’s charge have double the CD if they miss? Does the thief’s infiltrator’s arrow cost double the initiative if they don’t hit a target? Why did Anet make Ele’s have less escape than Thief when they have lower armor and lower health pools? Wouldn’t simply nerfing the heals be smarter? Surely it wasn’t because Ele’s could restart fights, because thieves have reset fights since launch. I would like, not to have the nerfs reverted, but simply dumbed down. Make RTL a static 30s CD, make Lightning Flash a stunbreaker and remove all damage. Revert Mistform to the way it was, or reduce the CD on it, etc. Anet severely nerfed an Ele’s bunker capabilities. If that’s the direction they wanted to go, why didn’t they buff it’s offensive capabilites? Some say fresh-air was an attempt at doing so. However, the only viable weapon set is S/D with some, if not all zerker gear, making the low armor, low health pool class, even squishier.
Now this isn’t a thread to bash Anet for the decisions they made. Again, balancing isn’t easy, but I just hate to see my favorite profession get nerfs like these.
They’ve done some good though, although people generally don’t like playing support, in WvW staff ele’s have great utility, combo fields, heals, etc. Static fields and two water fields can turn the tide of the battle. Again, I’d like to see a viable offensive staff build though.
Lastly, I want to talk about what I think is the biggest issue of them all. Traits
Anet stated themselves that they don’t want people to stay in one attunement. However, you’ll find yourself doing so autoattacking if you don’t put a minimum of 20 points in Arcane. Personally, I feel Anet needs to reduce the CD of Attunement Swaps. This would open up the tree and allow for more viable builds.
Second, I don’t think the trait tree should be split into attunements. It’s counter-intuitive to want to use all your skills, but only spec into one attunement. It would make more sense to have trees based on the role you wanted to fufill. Offensive tree, defensive tree, etc.
If you’re still reading this, my god you have a lot of free time, but these are my thoughts on the Ele. I could type on and on, but I think I made my point somewhere in that sea of words. Thoughts?
(edited by EchenSketch.9142)
I don’t think you, and a majority of people understand how the Living Story is meant to work.
Think of it as a rough draft, or a template. Yes, at the moment we are getting relatively small updates with temporary content. Now, come the same time next year, Anet will already have a majority of the assets they need. They won’t have to put as much work into modeling, sound editing, music, etc. Now, all of that manpower is open to work on other areas of the game, including permanent content.
I’m so sick and tired of people ripping on Anet for the living story. It’s free content every 2 weeks. Stop complaining. Once their “templates” are done, then they can allocate more resouces into spvp, tpvp, wvw, etc. Everyone just needs to be patient.
Anet, mah fingers be tired. Tired of double-clicking my 250 drips of liquid karma. Tired of tapping mah heavy loot bags. Can we please have a “Use All” option?
Class means nothing, its the SKILL of the player and the skill to command that makes a good commander.
Yes, I totally agree, but some classes are simply better. In a zerg vs zerg fight, how long could a thief last? and how effective in the fight could he/she be if he/she did last? For the most part, yes, a good commander comes from his/her skill, but playing some classes over another gives them an advantage.
(edited by EchenSketch.9142)
Personally, I feel Guardians, Warriors, and Mesmers make great commander classes. How do you guys feel about Ele’s commanding? If so, could you post some possible builds?
D/D Bunker and Staff builds come to mind.
Personally 20 in Arcane is mandatory Attunement Swap CD rate is too valuable to give up.
Anyone got a guide on how to do this with a guardian?
Most of the guardians I see try it don’t have enough dps. You may have to change your build up a bit so you don’t run out of time.
What’s wrong with a mini?
I had a sneaking suspicion I could get this done on PD thief so I tried it yesterday failed straight away. Tried all my classes and honestly I just could not get it done. Saw this video didn’t even change my traits took 6 or 7 tries (a few times got her between 10% and 20%) but in the end I got it done.
Yep, I’m sure every class has some build that can do it. I think people don’t want to take the time to bash their heads against to wall and learn how to beat the boss, and complain about the mechanics. Sooo many forum thread criticizing it.
For those of you that keep trying, keep it up! It was the best feeling in the world when I finally beat it
1-shot kills have been condemned since the beginning (Dungeons).
no-one likes being one-shotted.
It’s not a smart way to create challenge.Hence, in my view,
Anet has failed to realise that 1-shot kills aren’t fun, and has failed to create an inspired challenge mechanic.
Being one shotted is proof of poor game mechanics. The gaming companies say it is compelling. It is, it compels you to go somewhere else. LOL
No it allows for zero room for error. The Red AoE circles has a delay. The Orb’s pull has a Delay. The adds walk at a slowed speed. If you died, it’s your fault.
Aliette the diff is , OHKO should not be the main mechanic of the fight , thats poor design in any video game standard. a better example of challenge would be to have her doing normal attacks like the other fights , with the OHKO with a tell sign , as well as death traps to avoid. one wrong step and your dead , here ? its just ridiculous , you have adds that are instant death , aoe thats instant death , floating spheres that can pull you INTO the instant death aoe , high health pool. all a bad combination of actually putting challenge into a fight.
It’s the last boss of a series of 12. It’s meant to be hard. All of the mechanics are there, and the method of beating her is there. Take out the orbs. Learn the patterns for the AoE. Learn how to efficiently move around and pull her mobs. The fight is extremely hard, yes, but it’s fair.
Im just very mad. I bet you can tell.
I was really frustrated but had a good time, because when I died it was usually my fault. Whether it was popping my stun-breakers at wrong times or missing the rally of the orb, etc.
what an absolute mess, camera view is kittened, have to wait in a queue every time to try again, really ? does anet even think, at all ?
nvm tried it again and as I entered the arena I instantly fell to my death because the last challanger ran out of time, I mean how buggy can you make it anet ? seriousy ? ?!= "
I buy food and spend most of the time waiting in a queue until they run out of time so i can get in and drop to my death instantly and get back to queue.
How bad is this.
You’re just unlucky . Queue’s aren’t that long. If they are, find an empty dome or one with less people. Camera was fine for me, try zooming in a bit.
um… did the 1st page disappear for anyone? It says 6 replies on the forums too…
Did not know the orb could rally you, may need to not kill it ASAP…
In the second stage it will pull you towards the AoE, downing you.
I’ve just about given up. I know the mechanics inside and out, but I either screw up in phase one, or fail miserably in phase two. This fight is in the same vein as the clocktower, which is the bad kind of challenge.
Personally I think this is one of the best bosses they’ve created. Bugs aside, it is essentially fair. The mechanics are there, the method to beat her is there. All that’s left is execution, which is challenging, but fair. I’d like to see more challenging PvE content like this in the future, as it’s a step up from making bosses with mass amounts of damage and/or health.
I’m trying to get this done… tried Mesmer and Elementalist. I last about 10 seconds. When I get a crystal to spawn I seem to be perma knocked down with no way to get up. Is this the “orb bug” people speak of, or am I doing something wrong? Currently this looks to be impossible for me – can’t see any way of not being perma stunned long enough to spawn three crystals.
The Orb bug I’m am referring to is when you destroy an orb, it disappears, but you get a knockdown that pulses every 5 seconds or so. Try changing Domes.
This is the BEST content update so far. You know why? It’s challenging. It took me a day
to do it, but I finally beat Liadri. All of the bosses are tough, but fair and the game needs more of this.
I’m having a pretty hard time of this has a thief. I can usually dodge the circles enough, though it gets a lot more difficult once I have to dodge the incoming visions too.
The thing that’s making me make more mistakes though is the constant damage from the Necrotic Grasps. I just don’t have any good way to heal that damage. No healing over time, and the heals tend to be a bit more detrimental to beating her. (Evading backwards. Stealth stops the visions from following, but Liadri can keep tagging with her projectiles.
This is a really unforgiving fight. I think I’ll have to really change things up to a more bunker style or something to just live through the first phase.
The Necrotic Grasps are easy to dodge by just strafing left and right.
I’m having a lot of trouble killing her before time runs out. Previously I ran Carrion + full Berserk jewelry, and I couldn’t get her below 1/4HP before time was up. Am now going to try with full Berserker gear…
The first time I got her down to 3% health and died. Another I got her down to 2% health and ran out of time.
If you need more dps, I recommend Seaweed Salad instead of the endurance food. 10% damage while moving makes a big difference.
(edited by EchenSketch.9142)
What engineer build do you use?
I beat this on my elementalist.
To the rest, I totally agree. This boss is definitely easier on some classes. On the second stage, you need to have ranged b/c you’ll be running around avoiding AoE, melee isn’t really an option, so Guardians might have some trouble with dps.
Just did it as a guardian myself, for the most part this guide is spot on For guard in particular, I recommend zerker scepter/focus with superior sigil of accuracy and air. The air sigil allows you to have a chance at extra damage when you crit.
Also, if you panic, you die but that’s the case with any class.
One tip I did not see mention is to lower all your settings to the lowest but keep sampling to native. Post processing in particular needs to be turned off, otherwise she can blur the hell out of your screen for a few seconds.
As an elementalist, go Bunker S/D w/ Ether Renewal, Arcane Shield, Mist Form, and Armor of Earth. Standard 30 in Water in Arcane, and 10 in Earth for the 10% damage
also thx, I’ll add that
Finally beat it after 2g of tickets. People constantly ask for tips so here they are
Introduction: Lidadri will stand in the center of the dome to start, and cones of aoe will spawn across the map. They have similar timing to an Elementalist’s Dragon Tooth and are instant kills. Notice she has 3 stacks of invulnerability. To remove these, pull her adds that she spawns (instant kills when touched), to the white vortexes on the ground. This will spawn a crystal to throw at her and remove a stack of invulnerability. Keep in mind that skills that drop bundles will lose the crystal (Mist Form). After all 3 stacks are removed, dps her down while avoiding the increased number of AoE and Adds. She will now apply cripple and weakness to you.
—-———————————————————
1. The Orb is a priority, especially at the 2nd stage, so take it out asap. Keep in mind that some skills will not work on the orb, as it will be “obstructed”, but AoE attacks seem to be fine.
2. After taking out the first orb that spawns, pull the mobs to the white circles. The faster you do it the less pressure you’ll have as there is a set spawn limit to the adds.
3. Once the second stage hits, start running in a constant circle around the dome. There is a set pattern to the instant-kill aoe, and running around will make it easier to dodge. The rule of thumb is where the aoe just was, will be safe next attack.
4. Stun-breakers, invulnerabliity, blocks, movement skills, heals, and condition removal are needed.
5. Most of the challenge is learning the mechanics and patterns of the boss, trial and error will make it easier
6. If you get the nonstop pulse bug from the orb, switch domes, this seems to stop it from happening.
7. Skill lag is a pain, might need to spam your skills if needed
8. Don’t wait until the last second to dodge the aoe, sometimes it won’t register as a dodge.
9. You can rally off orbs
10. If you’re getting lag or low fps, turn settings to lowest but keep sampling to native
11. Consumables to help :
Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew (Endurance Regain)
Seaweed Salad (If you need more dps)
Maintenance Oil (Extra Stats)
Classes I’ve known and recommend to beat this: Engineer, Elementalist, Mesmer.
Good luck to those willing to bash their heads on this. I know the skill lag from the zerg below and the bugs don’t help, but you can do it
(edited by EchenSketch.9142)
If you can adapt on how to play, then you got that 25 Minutes to look at your Traitlines and think of something?
I mean is it really that hard?
I like it when people talk about their builds and discuss what they wouldn’t take and what they would like, and ask one of the math guys here which would be better in theory.
Also just look up the guides stickied on top of this Forum, there are plenty of ideas.
But no you can’t do that, you are just another of this mindless fotm players, you heard that Necros are quite good now in sPvP and thought “well i just play one then”, instead of learning to play you learn to copy builds and then you ask yourself why you lose everytime, because everyone learns how to counter your build, because almost everyone runs it.
but ok back to topic, just play MM Necro with life steal. Try it out maybe its the right thing for you. or do you want the “ULTRA OP N00B Killer NECRO BUILD”?
I would really appreciate if a forum mod would delete this thread, seeing how hateful and insulting it is.
Anyway, to answer your rant, no it isn’t that hard, it’s easier. Why spend not 25 min, but hours upon hours of trial and error creating and playtesting your builds when you can find a build that has already been tested, and work from there? It saves time. You’re thread is hypocritical, criticizing players for looking up builds and asking the community, then saying to look up guides.
Lastly MM Necro excels in Dueling servers, and is not viable in tPvP. Power Condi Necros and Bunker Necros serve the team far better than giving the enemy team a few extra pets to worry about. This thread is… just.. no.
Depends on the classes and player skill. If it was an ele I would assume it was a s/d burst ele. You make 1 good dodge or stun and his chain is lost. Toughness makes a difference. Ask any thief that has fought a guardian.
Also if you want survivability mixing toughness and vitality is always better
I’ve read thread after thread of people asking for change in GW2, saying the game will die if they aren’t made quickly.
LOL … I wish … haven’t seen a single server fall below “High” all month and I’ve been up at 6am looking (b/c I need to Transfer but I ain’t payin 1000 gems, screw that)
Also this list is FULL of contradictions. It has no unifying theme and half the things on it are where everything went off track in the first place (Ascended gear?? really? More vertical progression?) Is someone trolling or do people REALLY think this stuff is more important than group DE-stopping reoccurring Bugs that have existed since launch or dungeon instances breaking or the fact WvW has only 1 meta that matters (follow the Zerg) and still no real guild progression in it.
The only thing needing to be repeated here about 100 times, is:
-Separate balancing for PvE, sPvP, WvW
…b/c it’s clear that their “balance” team just isn’t taking it serious yet.
This list has is not ordered to show importance. It is simply a compilation of what people would like to see in the future. Guild halls and GvG can certainly provide guild progression. It’s clear to me that you spend most of your time WvW’ing, and that’s fine but please realize a majority of the players PvE and/or have other interests and priorities.
No one is saying that their desires are more important than yours. Please don’t turn this into a hateful thread. This is a list, that is all.
sorry I miss read- I thought the OP was asking for end of 2014.
Yeah, had to think about how to word it. This is just what the community wants, ignore the time frame
Keep the list flowing guys! Lot’s of improvements I couldn’t think of here
The commando is already in game right now….watching you.
Thank you, now I feel reassured that Anet actually reads the forums…unless you’re some RP guy , then boooo
They pretty much already outlined what they will be working on for the rest of 2013. So anything not mentioned will probably not be seen before 2014.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/looking-ahead-guild-wars-2-in-2013/
Again, it’s not a to-do list. It’s just what the community wants, and if by the slightest chance Anet reads this, I’ll be very happy
I’ve read thread after thread of people asking for change in GW2, saying the game will die if they aren’t made quickly. So, I wanted to compile a list of things that the community wants to see in Guild Wars 2 this year.
Remember, this isn’t a to-do list for Anet, just what we would like to see.
From what I’ve read…
General
-Separate balancing for PvE, sPvP, WvW
-Guild Halls
-GvG
-Being able to party with friends for minigames (even just for custom servers)
-More incentive to join lower pop. servers
-In-game Leaderboards
-Ascended armor/weapons

Because WvW is the current endgame, Anet wants to buff PvE, hence Living Story. How much attention they should put to that is another debate. A majority of players PvE, and with no PvE endgame people are getting bored / stop playing. Almost every MMo has a strong PvE endgame to give players something to do, not gw2.
Anet is a business, they need to make money. Sorry kids, it’s the cold, hard truth. MMO’s are ridiculously expensive to maintain. People often criticize Anet for not knowing they’re doing, but they’re not stupid. They just have different priorities than we want them to. What we can hope for is that they become more efficient at generating Living Story content so they can divert more attention to PvP aspects of the game, which is already happening.
People need to stop saying if Anet doesn’t make quick changes the game will die. It’s a $60 game. I would say everyone has gotten more than their money’s worth and are still playing. And if you get bored, just take a break and come back when things improve. There’s no sub-fee, so there’s no need to smash your head against the keyboard.
I thought this was going to be a post about losing stacks when downed. Personally we should lose 10 when downed, not the whole stack -.-
Yeah, a bit over exaggerated. This isn’t WoW where you wait for a healer for hours. Why organize? Because the top tier servers are the ones that take advantage of everything they can. They’re the ones that put in 110%. Having builds that support one another to enhance the group as a whole isn’t trivial, it’s logical, and in a sense IS cooperation. The issue at hand should be how Anet can change WvW so parties of 5-10 can provide their own role in WvW. IMO, make it bigger w/ more camps, towers, etc.
Asking why organize is a bit silly, just think
Anet, can we please have a title for those who have been top 1000 in the spvp leaderboards? Or maybe give a temporary title for those currently in the top 1000 that vanishes when you drop? I think it’d be cool to give recognition to spvp’ers, after all WvW offers tons of titles.
(Yes, I know the leaderboards aren’t exactly the most accurate representation of skill, but still)
