All these ‘outliers’ that have been running fractals before they even existed that never had a skin drop, it must really suck to be part of that clique given that just every garbage player now has every single fractal skin in the game, they were one of the few skins in the game that when you used to see it you’d think, hey that guy runs fractals a lot, he must at LEAST have stepped inside a fractal, but like I said, the most garbage players on the game have every single fractal weapon they could ever want, what is the point in that? How is this any different from invalidating gear progress?

In wow when a new expansion comes out all the top tier gear suddenly becomes useless as the first vendor in the new areas usually sells something better. In heart of thorns all I don’t even like using my fractal skins given that I nearly had a full collection, I felt like I actually earned the skins. I know most gw2 players seem to hate rng but they never mention what kept them playing fractals for 2 years, was it the rng? The chance that maybe this time i’ll get the fractal sword skin or will I get 20 empyreal fragments? So enough whining and now you can buy the skins on the trading post, how kittening sad is that.

So essentially everything I have done in fractals for the past 2 years has been invalidated because the people that can barely log in the game for 10 minutes a week demanded that they should all the skins on a silver platter right now. I don’t like to use the word but it is entitlement.

Clearly you have a different meaning of top tier. Plus the only reason condi isn’t good in dredge is because they’re too lazy to fix the bug with condi scaling, they put it in the patch notes and expected no one to notice I guess?

I’m confused at what tempest could possibly bring, the ele offhands were already some of the best weaponsets in the game, scepter has a ton of issues and doesn’t really fit in pve, what does warhorn offer or is it just the traitline that makes it good. What could warhorn possibly do better than focus, which is arguably one of the best offhands in the game even if it’s a dps increase do you really know that many eles that play dagger /x well enough to not make them a liability, focus usually supports dagger skills really well, being able to go invuln whenever you want if you put yourself in a bad position which happens a lot with burning speed, the projectile defense, chill, cc’s, long duration fire field and a small reflect. What traitline would you drop in favor of tempest?

It’s hard to find people to do dungeons through lfg and people I used to run with quit the game, so im looking for people to duo or trio, preferably not full group farmmode, I still enjoy doing arah and some of the other dungeons. At this point i’m running the dungeons for enjoyment and experimenting with elite specs and so on, would prefer to do some arah paths daily

I’ve played power and the main thing I was focusing on was not letting the auto attack kill me, it doesn’t feel like that weapon was playtested at all, it just doesn’t work in the game where you’re relying on instant reactions to a boss animation, if you think lupi is going to kick you or autoattack and you’re on the 2nd auto of the chain you now need to stop for a second, stop dpsing him, try to get the evade frame of the 3rd auto or just wait for the chain to reset. Great swords damage is pretty terrible too, which is a shame because the actual weapon skills of the great sword are amazingly useful, I like all the ranger melee weapons because of the built in evades, it makes the class feel like a duelist. But I cannot bear to use sword, it feels like the problem could be fixed within easily by just not locking you in place when you’re in the 3rd chain.

Warrior great sword is just miles ahead and it feels like it synergizes really well with the other weapons, all the skills except from rush performs really well, they can be rotated with actual dodges to have a pretty good evade up time, especially when using an offhand with energy sigil and fast hands.

I haven’t put much time into ranger and I know i’m certainly not good at ranger but what I am trying to say is that sword needs a rework, the auto attack mechanic is not unique in anyway, it’s detrimental to the classes survivability. The classes ranger is competing with do not have this problem and they can focus purely on whatever enemy is trying to kill them, meanwhile the ranger stops dpsing every couple of seconds to reset their chain and they die due to bad rng.

Grinding Gear Games gives a lot of feedback to their players about how they change things, they recently buffed the t1 item droprate (Best items in the game) the increased the drop rate, multiplying it by 4. The main developer has been on multiple podcasts since explaining everything about how he perceives the tier system in that game, how he observes players progress and how it affects their decision about where they put focus in their game. It’s just sad to compare GGG’s godly player-dev interaction to gw2. GGG is an indie company that makes the game Path of Exile all you need to do is go to their website and look at the recent changes or the forums, you’ll stop defending all the kittenty decisions anet makes. Hell GGG actually apologizes when they mess up and fixes stuff immediately. Reminder that this is an indie company while gw2 is a triple A game, except POE is regarded as the best game in the genre, although it has several flaws.

I only played wildstar a little but if you compare their communication it’s also miles ahead of gw2.

Why does xp matter when there are only 3 mastery lines am I missing something, I haven’t even bothered levelling up pact commander because it’s useless, but xp seems useless as well once you have levelled up your masteries.

Please show me a ranger fighting lupi or any boss where you need to dodge alot while continually autoattacking with sword, that means no swapping to greatsword unless it’s for the barrage, no cancelling the auto chain and no running away for the chain to reset until that happens and the perfect rng starts align, your forced into condi and the niche encounters that require zerk will be out of the question like dredge since they still haven’t fixed the bug. Sword is still the same deathtrap as launch if you’re not halting your dps by cancelling the chain or waiting on it then your going to get unlucky at one point and get a bad evade frame, they need to seriously rework sword. The utility on all the other weapons is very good though.

I think ranger is fun as hell to play and I really like the idea behind the duelist style of ranger’s melee weapon sets, but outside of condi it’s garbage. I haven’t played druid so I can’t comment on it but apparently it’s op in pvp.

People care about the rewards because it just doesn’t make sense why silverwastes chestfarm has always given more gold than dungeons and fractals, yet dungeons were the ones to get the rewards nerfed and fractals have much lower drop rates than before. It kittenes me off that there are some really garbage players that can just afk in chestfarm rolling their faces on the keyboard making much more gold than me while I do, what? arah p4 for 1g? You couldn’t make this kitten up

IMO the title should be changed, this is not a general discussion/feedback of the new fractals, it’s more of a thread for people who dislike it to whine and complain about.

Do you even know what feedback is? do you know what criticism is? do you know that most game developers don’t play their own game, so things are iterated upon based on player feedback, if you want an echo chamber to preach about how amazing the new fractals are and how great it is that we did not receive any new fractals as part of the expansion maybe you should go back to reddit, you can censor all the bad things your can’t bare to read.

Where else will you find feedback outside of the fractal forum? most of the people here have been playing the exact same fractals for a very long time and they have a pretty good idea what they want. Unfortunately anet isn’t a normal developer and they will not build upon feedback and they are willing to completely destroy content if it means getting better numbers into other areas of the game.

It’s not so much that the bosses have more hp or take longer to kill in general, it’s the fact that they didn’t bother to add new mechanics to any of these encounters or just add new encounters in general. Instead we’re playing the same kitten 2 years in a row everyone knows how to stay alive at mai trin. All good players know to stay close to her if you want the fight to go fast without a dedicated kiter. All good players already knew she has an unblockable attack and a undodgeable attack. Why was this even chosen as the level 100 encounter? Honestly I don’t even think they will ever add new fractals to the game if they considered mai trin to be the hardest encounter.

Just watching it you can tell the game is much better and more fleshed out than gw2 the tower of mushin or however it is called, the things I have heard about it are amazing, requiring complete mastery of your class just to progess in the dungeon. I have also heard some things about the game being completely reliant on the wardrobe system and how they are locking that behind a paywall, extremely limited inventory space and the legendary weapons introduced in the foreign versions are extremely hard to obtain ingame and will require out of pocket money. The game looks amazing but like gw2 it seems to have very little endgame progression and I imagine it will take us quite a while to catch up to the Korean version which seemingly has more content.

Unfortunately black desert seems the same; amazing looking game, open world sandbox, action combat etc but has very little endgame to keep players engrossed in the game. I think guild wars 2 would be a much better game in the hands of a different development studio that kept the same principles about not invalidating progress and keeping the level 80 the pure endgame and pvp equalizer balance but it seems like most studios are still stuck in 2005.

Condi engi gets 14k+ burning pretty frequently with much higher bleed damage along with access to confusion and poison. I’m going to unlock berserker to try it out regardless but in your video the bleed stacks were dropping pretty low and given that warrior only has access to burning and bleed you’d think those numbers would be higher. Looks fun regardless.

Anet has said multiple times that they would never release another tier or gear or bump up the level cap essentially making everyone you have done useless, but since gear is very one dimensional in this game and leveling and speccing out a character and respeccing whenever you want that leaves us with the only one thing that can truly show progression and it is cosmetics.

Why are cosmetics being treated differently? everything I have done in the past 2 years has been invalidated in one way or another, dungeon armour being moved to pvp reward tracks, most of the expensive dyes being re-introduced whenever they get out of the average players price range, fractured reset and now we have fractal skins that can literally be bought on the trading post. How is this any different than a gear treadmill, my fractal skins used to be a really rare sight, now even the most garbage players can spend a few days grinding gold in the afk chestfarm and get the all the skins I had and more, yet that player is doing content which is neither challenging or engaging in any way, there are no gates, no way for that player to show they actually deserved what was once an exclusive reward. I can even remember when arah paths were selling for stupid amounts of gold because people wanted the orrian heavy armour so bad and it was one of the best looking armours in the game at the time yet it was so rare.

We need exclusive rewards, Legendary armour for raids will not cut it, unless you can actually respec the gear while having it equipped it will be useless and take way too much time because you’ll have to unequip it, change stats, re-equip and we don’t even know if it’s possible to change runes. The fractal gold skins are an abomination, they are literally one of the ugliest sets of skins since release, very little effort was put into the skins and it’s obvious that they were just an afterthought.

There is a serious miscommunication even on these forums, people are going around saying that they spent years farming fractals and never got a skin, this is obviously not true, the players saying this were/are just lazy and they will ALWAYS be lazy and want everything on a silver platter. This is why chestfarm exists, but if chestfarm gold can be used to buy fractal skins why the kitten would you ever do fractals when chestfarm is better gold p/h? If players like this are the reason we have buyable fractal skins and all of the bosses doing 0 damage then its a failure on the developers end, I seriously believe there will be no new fractals because they know the majority of people will never do them again once they have the skins they want and I imagine that isn’t far off.

The only thing that needs to be done to fractals is to revert them to pre-HoT changes and make it so instead of a random weapon skins you get a box to choose instead and hey, NEW fractals might not be a bad idea either.

More than 1 healer is just a stupid idea, it’s like since the release of druid people have legitimately forgotten the 3 years you’ve had to rely on your personal heals and given that there will be multiple engineers if they keep doing this toughness bs that role for the druid is getting knocked further and further down. Spotter for 5 people is good, spotter for 3 people and a chronomancer and a druid is not so good and probably not worth it.

1 chronomancer at most, it will require obscure positioning and given that the first boss we seen required a lot of kiting I can hardly see how a chronomancer will target the people with any sort of precision.

Maybe, just maybe anet will realize this whole diversity thing isn’t going to work out and just give us a way to choose who our buffs are going too. I’m still in denial at this point but if they actually split the pve and pvp balance ele should definitely be put back as the number 1 dps, conjures need to be reworked, cantrips need to be reworked, they even suck in pvp. Like why should the light armour class with 10k hp not be the top dps, if staff isn’t usable because the bosses need to be kited then we are going to see a huge skillfloor as d/f ele will be no joke to play, like playing condi engi just feels dirty at this point it’s so kittening broken and way too easy to play. I haven’t even played with the eles elite spec but I’ll assume warhorn is garbage since nothing can really compete with focus anyway and the one things eles needed was not another kittening offhand.

It’s impractical to even compare the gold p/h when dungeons were ALREADY timegated. Silverwastes doesn’t have diminishing returns because all of the loot comes from the bouncy chests and the random chests lying around. Like why are you even arguing at this point that the liquid gold from dungeons was bad? The dev himself even ADMITTED the nerfs to dungeon rewards were to move people to other content. Just through that statement alone he got people like valentine to apologize on his behalf and echo chamber flat out lies.

Bugs ive found:

Condi damage still not scaling in dredge with the debuff

Npcs still taking forever to start dialogue in general and in cases like molten facility unless you go out of bounds they will just bug out the fractal if you don’t wait on the dialogue its kittening unreal and they have the stupid RP walk that takes like an hour to get to the gate

I assume its a bug or an oversight but mossman gouge is hitting me for like 7k in zerk that animation is like 2 seconds long it should oneshot anyone no matter what what gear they are wearing

Bloomhunger has a fake breakbar for some reason

Lupicus has a breakbar

Damage from mobs in general is way too low atm

Cliffside hammer still bugged which is funny because I knew without even checking the patch notes that they wouldn’t have fixed it and they never will.

last phase of archdiviner; hammer will still magically dissapear sometimes, this was happening before HoT too

The charr npcs in ascalon still don’t teleport to you when you get out of range

The molten facility weapons testing part; the engine thing or whatever it is you are attacking, the structure thing engineer grenades still do not hit this thing like ever although thats true with most structures. The engine thing also has way too much hp, this part of the fractal is a joke no matter how much hp the thing has and I think it should be reverted instead of having the now mandatory condi players to respec their whole kittening build just to kill a box

Doesn’t pvp match rewards give gold magically? doesn’t champbags give gold magically? when ten people kill a champ and 10 champbags are put into the game where do you think those bags come from? F2Pers have been in the game for a while now, so maybe I’m not paying enough attention to the market but the only thing price that’s changed is leather sections and that’s because it’s a new epic meme on the gw2 4chan, a place for magically furrie charr neckbeards and erp guilds.

Dungeons have always given a pure gold rewards, just like the pure gold rewards that comes out of a champbag, albeit a smaller amount and the economy hasn’t suffered. This is just a poor excuse for anet not being able to design appealing content, they have to kill off the old content to ensure that there’s no way people will be playing 3 year old buggy content over the new stuff. The dev even admitted this himself, they don’t want people doing dungeons im unsure why people are still spreading this lie.

You just have to look at anets track record at any point during the games life-cycle to realize that they do not keep promises, faill to meet expectations and every update seems completely out of touch with what their players want, or the updates themselves are just plain lazy. I mean bezagron seriously believes that new dungeons aren’t completely out of the horizon and that they are releasing new fractal maps unannounced.
For instanced pve players this expansion is going to have like 1 hour of content to do everyday and a raid on weekly reset and let’s be honest these raids will be trivialized within a few months of release. Is this worth $50, clearly not, they are removing the rewards from dungeons because they know this, they know that if they released the expansion and people would rather play the 3 year old bug ridden dungeons over the new fff1111 open world stuff, then that would be really bad for the games image, especially when anet has pretty much confirmed they do not want to update dungeons, everyone knows how long the bug list is. So they make a completely unnecessary change to the rewards, give some bullkitten excuse about how dungeon gold is ruining the economy, even though just like everywhere else in the game mobs with champbags, pvp match rewards also generate gold, Why are they not being removed too?

Really glad you cleared this up for me guy as I was really confused about it, so let recap the recap. We only have 3 fractal tiers to run daily, we have 3 less fractal islands to run yet we are getting better rewards than before and we get 1 raid locked behind a weekly timegate. This sounds fantastic, I can’t think of a better game on the market that offers so much content.

I’m being sarcastic by the way, this is an absolute kitten excuse of an endgame for a 3 year old game and they are still not developing new fractals and removing rewards from dungeons because they know their new content isn’t appealing enough to deter people from doing dungeons instead.

@boogersammich Other mmo’s have alot more content that they couldn’t possibly support, gw2 on the other hand has open world, fractals, dungeons and pvp. The last major content update for any of those was almost a year ago when they added silverwastes. This game really does not have much content compared to most mmos yet they keep overhauling things like traits, QoL updates like the wallet and fluff.

phiw is play how i want, it’s people that would rather be selfish, they don’t change their traits, weapons or utilites to suit the groups needs even if it would benefit the whole group by helping the run go faster. Like an elementalist who won’t use earth elemental at old tom because his build relies on tornado or a really good example was the fractal demo stream anet gave, all the builds they were playing were absolutely terrible, they had no synergy there was a pistol pistol venomshare thief I think and some other garbage. I shudder when I think that these same people are responsible for the balance and stuff.

Isn’t having only positive things to say just as bad as rage comments Iris has been incredibly positive about this and has nothing bad to say about a obviously terrible decision while I admire her optimism, reading john smiths posts on reddit makes me question whether I want to login ever again.

I think this is a terrible update because the dungeon community was already small, it’s incredibly hard to find good players outside of organized guilds, killing any motive to do the content was completely unnecessary other than the obvious manipulative benefits of getting those players to spread to other areas of there game that is continually being developed

How can people defend this, the loot system is so watered down and terrible. Dungeons were one of the few currency rewards in the game, now this update is to try and deter people from doing dungeons and instead move them to other areas of the game, I think it’s hilarious because the reason I solo or lowman a dungeon is a completely different reason to why I would ever even consider doing open world content.

Most open world stuff is comparable to those mobile games, like cookie clicker, press f to get loot. It’s sad what this has come to, the economy team has one salty dev that considers killing of one area of the game because of a meta he doesn’t like as a positive and suddenly this update comes around. Weekly timegate raid boys and 1 fractal island a day what a great kittening endgame. New legendaries look garbage, reskinned gold fractal weapons look garbage, no new fractals, no reason to run dungeons anymore, no pvp solo queue announced, no hardmode dungeons, remind me again why would anyone buy this bullkitten?
