I have a more than capable pc of running this game, this crash issue was mentioned multiple times at the release and still nothing has been done about it. Why do I not deserve to be compensated for my time lost completing and particpating in these events. Why is there no failsafe to prevent things like this from happening. I was in the map for about 40minutes or so helping that event succeed.

Now that’s completely messed up. I’m literally saying that top tier food is way too overpriced. How are you able to twist that to “food price is completely fine”?

Your first comment on the matter was simply “don’t use expensive food”, this isn’t an alternative and shouldn’t be considered one. The food is way too expensive and should be looked at again by everyone’s favorite economist. I assumed you were completely fine with it being expensive because your only suggestion was not to use it, you didn’t say much of anything about how you think it should fit into the game or how to fix the matter you said just simply “don’t use it” and you still haven’t responded to where you think Best in slot food should be used if not raids.

You haven’t even commented on anything I brought up other than your victim complex though so I’m done replying.

We’re talking about raids here, so not taking outside sources into account is, quite honestly, kittened. Solo, group and squad settings are completely different things with entirely different needs and should be treated accordingly. Besides, he isn’t saying to not use food; he’s saying that you can go down one step (as in asparagus instead of truffle steak) because the difference is overall quite minor. That being said, yes there’s food with bigger impacts.

But the entire point of this here was people saying we are losing money when using this food, if the best in slot food isn’t sustainable for the hardest content in the game where else are we supposed to use it? It is absolutely anet’s fault and wethospu is trying to make it out like it’s completely fine that this food is expensive as hell we should just use cheaper options. My point is this food is overly expensive and the recipes are unsustainable I don’t care how much you farm open world your bloodstone dust stacks will start to diminish if you are constantly crafting this food.

Anet should make this food more accessible otherwise what’s the point of even having it in the game if it’s not applicable anywhere because it is hurting your profit margins.

Again I see no reason why people would defend anet for this decision because they are clearly aware how expensive the food is, the recipe used to be like 100g each now they crashed the price with those pact merchants because they realized it is stupid to have these consumables when only a small percentage of players will even consider using them.

I agree the food is expensive, but we should not be forced into using the cheaper options just because the rewards are literally that bad they can’t even cover the cost of the mandatory BiS food.

Where are you getting your PS warrior might numbers?

Against bosses like abom where you don’t need to dodge much the only time your might ever goes above 18 is when you do hundred blades or if you have quickness, if you don’t it will drop fast down to numbers like 13,14. You need to compensate by bringing extra might generation through sigils or food. I thought this was common knowledge that even ps warrior could not maintain 25 might without buffs.

In the current raid “meta” you’ll be getting 50% boon duration from the revenant pretty much 80% of the time or more so there’s no need for boon duration food or strength sigil on warrior.

I already stated earlier that this was not accounting for outside sources, if you are relying on a ps warrior alone and they are not using buff food, they cannot maintain 25 might. They will have to sacrifice dps for a strength sigil just so they can save a few silver on food. My point was if the warrior who is the main responsibility for stacking might want’s to cheap out on a few silver that will affect the players who rely on his might, lowering their dps as well and like I said this was just an example of the top of my head, I think wethospu is wrong he says that people would only be losing out on 0.1% damage of a bosses hp, if this was the case people wouldn’t be using food at all because it would be a waste.

I think food provides a very noticeable difference especially on condi classes where you can swap out for a more dps orientated sigil since you can reach condi duration cap with consumables, I also think there is amazing utility food like life steal and endurance regen it gives sustain that could easily carry less experienced players through encounters.

So 2% more condition duration and 10 more condition damage drops your lupi kill time by 30 seconds? I find that really hard to believe.

We’re talking about changing a sigil here, swapping in 6% condi damage sigil instead of 10% duration since I could get that from a toxic focusing crystal. If you’re using anything less than 20% condi duration food your just losing damage for no reason at all it cost’s like 20s or something at most. The other alternatives aren’t that great and I wouldn’t use them for raids at all. It’s like when a ps warrior is only using phalanx strength without using golden fried dumplings or a strength sigil, he’ll average around 18 might and it will drop below that, the only time he’ll hit 25 is through a hundred blades and so whirlwind, so that means if the ps warrior is the main source of might everyone else his 5 targets including himself are losing 35might stacks, that means big cooldowns are getting used and they are not doing as much dps as they should be, if you start relying on other players and the ps warrior for might it mean’s they will be dropping damage in their rotation to stack might, engi’s will have to start stacking up might in their firebombs which will certainly lose dps since all of there blasts take a long time to cast and are mainly power pased so it’s a dps loss.

This is just 2 examples but if just doesn’t make any sense to me why you would voluntarily drop damage just to save a few gold. Especially when that damage could be the fraction of a bosses hp between a kill, it would more than make up for the cost.

High end food is only a 1-2% damage increase depending on how cheap you want to be. One person using it makes it like a 0.1-0.2% difference. The boss lasts 1 second longer?

If you need to use expensive food to beat raids then you have far bigger l2p issues than the performance loss from a cheap food. But feel free to waste your gold.

Is this a joke, weren’t you in a speedclearing guild? you should know how much of a difference food provides, it’s the difference between a warrior averaging 18 might or 25 for condi builds my lupi kill times drop by like 30 seconds if I use good food, it boosts me up to 100% condi duration so I don’t need to take a sigil to compensate for the missing condi duration, I could then use a sigil of bursting or some other dps sigil that might help me out. Then there’s food like lifesteal and endurance regen food which can carry you through an encounter. It also compensates for bad rotations giving you space to recover between dodges etc.

In raids the difference is not 30s between kills but instead whether most groups even manage to kill it food is very important. Which is why anet should find ways to make the BiS food easier to come by and be more generous with rewards.

I logged in exclusively to tell you you are wrong here. He’s gotten his point across multiple times and you’re brigading him and acting like he’s the one who “doesn’t get it”.

If you have the content “on farm” and it’s “not challenging” and you “aren’t having fun”, why would an arbitrary reward fix that? You’d be playing the same content, you’d just have a reason for doing it.

Every time I’ve visited this forum I’ve come across someone like you belittling someone else and trying to insist that THEY have poor writing skills because YOU can’t understand them.

Maybe you need to re-read the entire post again, he was insisting that it was perry’s fault that they have completed the raid in under an hour and felt unrewarded for the time they put in. He literally said raids are supposed to be challenging content that should not be rewarding I asked him multiple times why he said it shouldn’t be rewarding, I even gave examples of past mistakes the developers have made with content like aetherpath were people just stopped doing it because it was so unrewarding for the time they put in.

Raids are supposed to be challangeing and not to be farm content with good rewards.
It’s just sad to see that people were waiting so long for raids and one week after release there are the first guys who tryharded and rushed the content and are complaining now about rewards.

After calling the OP a tryhard he assumed that he must play the game 24/7 which is clearly not the case since the raid only took him an hour to complete. I said that it is not the OP’s fault that raids are not rewarding and in fact the OP may just be a good player that has the ability to complete the raid in under an hour, this is the point he just kept saying I couldn’t read. He just said goodbye twice and now he’s back again.

Replay value could be increased if there was an incentive to do the raids more than once per week or even just daily that is what i’m saying. Right now raids provide one hour of playtime a week for some mediocre rewards. Whereas dungeons and fractals provided 3 hours+ per day giving decent rewards and were fun to me at least, they weren’t as hard as raids but the replay-ability was there and there was even a speedrun community dedicated to that content. They then destroyed that content replaced it with a 1/3rd of a raid on a weekly timegate and it’s like they forgot that dungeons and fractals are literally the only thing that kept pve players in this game for the past 3 years. The people that came back for ‘Challenging group content’ are going to leave very soon if not already, even some long time players that used to frequent this forum have quit, some of those people that right up until the release of the expansion were defending anet’s decisions and look where that got us.

Better rewards and the removal of the timegate would fix those problems I can’t even tell if your being serious at this point, the rewards are terrible because we only get one chance at them per week and it is a complete dice-roll it doesn’t matter how hard you try or how good or bad of a player you are, there are no skill challenges or skill based rewards so if you miss out on the reward you wanted you logout for a week and rideout the timegate until you get enough tokens.

The replay value will wear off quickly because as we have already seen these encounters won’t take long to master, about a month from now it will be common for it to be complete in 40mins and pug groups will start to clear it consistently.

he actually did, you just didn’t get it and talked about problems that have nothing to do with the topic. He is right that better rewards will not solve the problems you are talking about.

He’s saying we shouldn’t be playing the game if all we care about is rewards, this content is supposed to be challenging yet people are getting the hang of it and clearing it in under an hour 3 weeks from release, the content it is supposed to supplement (dungeons and fractals) provided more playtime and managed to be more rewarding than raids and yet anet destroyed the reasons to do that content because they wanted to push raids as their main focus. I said that multiple times.

If better rewards supposedly won’t fix people feeling unrewarded for the effort they put in then what will? There’s literally no reason to repeat the content when you have cleared it that week and they make sure you get hit with DR so there is even less reason to bother helping out other people to clear it faster.

Im genuinely curious what you think about things like Aetherpath and why that turned out to be a huge failure and led to the eventual discontinuation of dungeons, do you think it was because of how terrible stingy the rewards were? or do you think it was for this mysterious reason that you have both yet to reveal, because like I’ve said im stumped at what he trying to get at he’s saying rewards won’t fix the issues i’m getting at, let’s face it anet is not going to be adding in more raid encounters next patch and unless I missed it there’s no new fractals coming, so there’s definitely not going to be content to keep people engaged in the game.

Why would anyone login for less than an hour per week, the challenge is gone, the fun is gone, people are clearing this in less than an hour 3 weeks from release. The reason they decided to abandon the rest of instanced pve was to develop raids, yet instanced pve like arah wasn’t being cleared consistantly until months after the game launched and even then it was only a few guilds at the time, A year after release that content still intimated most people and just steered clear from it.

Your trying to justify why the rewards are so bad but you can’t even give me a reason other than to tell me to go play a different game? I did dungeons for 3 years and the rewards weren’t that great compared to chestfarming in silverwastes or playing the trading post, but I did it anyway, it was fun for me. Raids are completely different now that they are the only content in the game that require 10 people, they are on a weekly timegate and while they are the most challenging content in the game, their rewards can’t even compete with the most braindead content like silverwastes.

Again if you still don’t get it, I think the most challenging content in the game should reward more than the easiest content in the game, it’s only logical. More importantly this is less than an hour of playtime a week, which is even less than doing dungeons and fractals daily before the expansion that was a guaranteed 3 hours + of playtime each day, it was a reason to login.

So after an expansion released people are getting even less time out of the game daily, how do you explain that as an enjoyable experience?

The raid is a joke, the only reason people won’t farm it is because there is an artificial weekly barrier preventing people from getting decent loot. By next week people will be doing the entire thing in 40 minutes and the next week after that the people that returned to the game for the challenging group content will have quit because it’s the only game in history that has actually removed more content than they have put in.

Since you obviously can’t find a way to get your point across ill do it for you, raids were supposed to be challenging, they weren’t supposed to be getting cleared within an hour after the reset timer 3 weeks after release, they were supposed to supplement for the butchering of dungeons and the abysmal fractals. Anet specifically stated that raids are now their main focus for pve and yet there’s literally no reason to login until next week so you can try again at the dice roll.

This is the only answer, 100% serious if anet just handed the game off to some other studio at launch or during one of those year long periods without new content this game would have been so much better, as long as that studio kept the same philosophies because right now gw2 is the only mmo that even has a chance of being a competitive game because of the equalizers in pvp. The pve active mitigation thing was perfect adding huge circles around bosses that contstantly just tick damage is a lazy way to fix it, never mind expanding on the systems that players found the most efficient, it’s like every problem this game has is due to just lack of communicaton.

I made tons of posts a few months ago before the expansion launched trying understand why they were doing the things they were doing, the people defending the changes have all quit the game since and when the whole dungeon nerf fiasco came about I can’t even get 10 people to log in nevermind raid.

I find the Dungeon nerf was more of a marketing trick than a needed nerf, to generate more profit. The way I see it, after 3 years these dungeons have been the same reward wise, even buffed at one point and now they had to be nerfed like this? Magically just as the game goes free to play and a new expansion comes out.

By nerfing dungeons, there’s less in game money generation and this makes some people as if forced (not encouraged) to buy gems with real money. I used to enjoy PvE and dungeons but now the game is a pile of trash, there’s hardly any fun left.

All they want is money without barely giving anything in return, so don’t get your hopes up.

I’ve said this exact same thing multiple times and I get a barrage of whiteknights claiming otherwise, even when I linked people the post on reddit where john smith admitted that the nerf to the rewards wasn’t anything to do with the gold rewards it was simply to push people away from that content because it would entice more people to buy the expansion.

The fact that you’re getting developer updates at all is their being kind; they in no way are obligated to provide status updates as they work the issues, especially because it takes time away from them actually working the issues.

That’s how development goes, and regardless of anyone’s entitlement I think ANet is handling it perfectly well.

This right here is the cancer of this game and the people that play it, no we should not be thankful that they even decided to give us a vague response without a date. I mean are you familiar with how other companies operate? how obscure anet’s way of doing things are? Anet is lightyears behind other companies and despite all the promises about listenting to the community the communication is still kitten poor.

Honestly you need to get a load of yourself trying to pass this off as entitlement. Go to wildstar’s dev tracker and compare the number of responses all the way from launch they have been consistently getting their message across. Unless you’ve forgotten gw2 is a triple A game, that comes with expectations that they will uphold the same standards as their competition.

The saddest part about this is that you are supposed to be the one representing this sub-forum and yet here you are defending anet for effectively making that content worse over time. I guess we’re all entitled since we didn’t expect that content to get destroyed for the simple need of pushing players to other areas of the game, whatever you are pathetic.

Abandoning entire areas of the game and publicly announcing it is just not something other companies would do, one of the first thing they teach you in software is the development life-cycle, part of that is iteration, you constantly change things given feedback, funny how the iteration in this game has been a complete disaster with things like dungeons and fractured, the developers are so out of touch with the game and it makes you question if the QA team even exists or if they are just there to make sure the game doesn’t crash before they give the go ahead.

They’re aware of this bug and working on a fix which I presume will go out with the December fractal fix-up patch. Keep in mind that while this is an annoying bug, it isn’t blocking progress or breaking anything severely and so doesn’t make sense for them to hotfix or dedicate a lot of resources to it.

this has been in the game for a month now, it took multiple posts on reddit and the official forums to even get a response that they were aware of how terrible fractals are at the moment and yet here we are, we don’t even have a date for the changes all we know is sometime in December, maybe.

This is content that has been in the game for over 2 years this stuff should not even happen to begin with. The fact that we need constant dev posts letting us know they haven’t forgotten fractals exist says a lot about the current state of the game.

I know that buyers are dumb as hell but they would never spend 1000g especially since the rewards are once again terrible 100g at most and I imagine unless its a repeated farm for the sellers it would be really inefficient waiting it out, splitting with 9 people sounds really fun. 1000g is definitely not happening, people that can throw away money like that would have looked at the rewards beforehand and determined it was a bad investment.

My point being is that the same level of difficulty could have already been achieved with 5 players if the dungeons had proper scaling to account for groups using optimal builds, instead of bosses like giganticus lupicus dying in 5 seconds due to powercreeps, abandonment of content and simply players just getting better at the game since he was first released.

I was reading a post yesterday, an ERP guild has already cleared the raid for the second time and they said they found it vastly easier as their time was much faster, the comparison I made with very few groups doing arah even one year after release because it was too difficult still stands. I’m sure by next week people will be clearing it in under an hour and the week after that the hardest part will be convincing getting that same group of 10 players together again since the newness will have already worn out.

not 100 percent as if you are in "down time for more than about 3 to 5 sec it stalls.

Ele stronk

Ele is amazing on large hitboxes but in that video you managed to down in like the first 10 seconds and it maxed at like 20k, never really seemed to drop even when you were on lava font and autos, it’s clearly inaccurate. Like it’s trying to catch up with your last meteor shower’s dps and forget everything inbetween.

Whatever, all i’m saying is the content they abandoned for years wasn’t completely terrible and deserved a chance, for whatever reason they don’t want to give it that and fired all the developers responsible for creating it, they never even got to iterate upon feedback and the first time they tried with aetherblade the dungeon wasn’t even bad it’s just the stupid economy team giving buttons as a reward for a path that should have awarded at least 10 gold on completion and a guaranteed unique skin the first time you complete it, it’s no wonder no one did it.

Success with raids could actually turn this dried lemon of a game into a full blown competitive MMO.

This first raid wing or whatever you want to call it consists of three bosses and it was beaten the first few hours of release. Despite all their claims and hype this raid will be put into farm mode even faster than dungeons were at launch, the dungeons were nerfed and it took months before people started to even consistently complete them. A year into the game arah was still the least popular dungeon, if you didn’t have an organized group on ts this would easily be an hour plus of your time.

Let’s recap this raid has already been beaten by 2 pug groups who posted on reddit, the people even admitted in their posts that they weren’t the greatest of players and I’m sorry if this sounds arrogant but I didn’t recognize any of their names, it’s not like they were from known guilds or whatnot.

Sub-par rewards; So when you’re done with the weeklong timegates and you finally get the legendary armour your going to realize how useless it is, anet will no doubt make it inconvenient in one way or another, if you can’t change the stats while wearing the armour then it’s already more efficient to carry around multiple ascended sets, equipping assecories and changing gear sets is already a pain in the kitten can you imagine having to make room in your inventory, unequip the armour change the stats on each individual piece, re-equip and finally change assecories. God forbid if they don’t change how the runes work then those armours will need to look amazing or people will just forget they exist.

10 man format; Getting 10 peoples schedules to align is a task in itself, I was incredibly disappointed when I found out that challenging group content was simply throwing a bunch more people in my instance, scaling up the number and then calling it a day. Given that even the large open world events like marionette and vinewrath scale best when 5 players are in each lane it just didn’t make sense to me.

Since MMO players are forgetful i’ll remind you of the two 8 month+ LONG periods of time with no new content and for the past 3 years of development this is what we have, what’s sadder is that they actually had to nerf things in the base game because they knew the new content wasn’t appealing enough. So instead of getting iteration good content essentially get’s scrapped, the content they say they are focusing on i.e. Fractals, which has been in the game for over 2 years now by the way gets nothing, the rewards get nerfed and we get a bunch of annoying instabilities.

I knew raids would cause division.

Kind of defeats the purpose of a guild doesn’kitten The issue is that the raids force people into taking only specific people with specific class-damage types.

Then this is the guild leaders problem, not anets. If you don’t like the cliques in your guild then leave or tell your guild leader to boot 10 people from your guild because they never invited you and your terrible build to raid, clearly these people are elitists and they are ruining your playing experience. Perhaps the point of joining a larger guild is that you can find enough people to raid?

Ok I thought I made it pretty clear but for the past 3 years there really has been very little incentive to join large guilds or pve orientated ones. All of the content was primarily tailored for smaller groups, even large open world events like marionette and vinewrath are designed for small 5 man groups in each lane, before the scaling kicks in, that is how you would clear it the fastest. I get that raids are a completely different ballgame but when you look at the scribe skill and the new guild leveling system you can’t deny it’s there to shaft smaller guilds and it’s just pointless to progress that way.

Everyone I have ever played has quit the game, I couldn’t even convince people a few months after launch to pick up the game because they read reviews about the lack of endgame and they’re certainly not going to start playing 3 years into it. I joined a small guild a few months ago but there’s like 12 people in it and the most i’ve ever seen online was like 5 people. I never cared to join a larger guild because I didn’t see the point. I knew that all this new content would release and I wouldn’t have anyone to play with.

They simplified a lot of things in fallout 4, they kept the essential npcs and it seems like they never really took any of the good ideas which came with Fallout new vegas which many fans consider to be the best game. I’m not saying fallout 4 is bad, I mean that intro cinematic honestly gave me chills as I have always loved the pre war lore and the storyline for the game was leaked years ago but I never expected this to be so well done. The mods will give it infinite replay-ability so it’s definitely worth buying, but I just wish bethesda would have taken a look at the systems obsidian added in new vegas and expanded upon them, like the ammo crafting, traits, faction reputations, hardcore mode and the companion action wheel.

The 4 turn dialogue is way too vague imo after having completed the game once through BoS I can honestly say the only characters I feel attached to was Danse and nick valentine the companion. The difficulty itself was really disappointing too, I played on survival start to finish never using power armour and only a laser rifle right up until the end and none of the fights were even remotely challenging. I just used some psycho-jet for 22s slow time and 25% extra damage and I could pretty much destroy everything. With that being said the voice acting was incredible but I can’t help shake the feeling that it’s the reason we only have 4 options in dialogue due to time constraints or whatever. It’s been nice to get a distraction from gw2 with all the bs that’s been happening lately but i’m not sure how long it will last.

This thread is kind of disgusting. DnT exercised bad judgment, but I think this has been blown WAY out of proportion.

We all know whose fault this was, but Anet shares the blame, I didn’t need another reason to hate DnT, Hell we knew this was coming a mile away, They never said they wouldn’t go for worlds first, but after seeing that ridiculous banner on their website you can’t help but think this is all due to that one manchild.

Honestly I would just like to know one thing, how many hours per day was put into the testing? if it was like 5+ hours, which I doubt then I could see them having alot of time to optimize before the raid released, but in no way should that content have been completed in the 15 mins of release, I said that exact same thing a few months ago and I was being sarcastic, I never expected this to be the disaster that it is.

Anet has failed us yet again and we already knew DnT would do this given that there are much better guilds out there that would have beaten them.

If people don’t want to kill it for the reward maybe anet should do something about that, If people don’t want to kill it because the fight is boring or just not engaging for them maybe they should do something about that in the meantime the only reasonable thing to do is play fallout 4.
