The search function is not literally broken, its always been terrible
Logitech trackball <3
I like the idea, but the problem is that I don’t like the living story and I don’t want to feel tied to it.
I don’t understand the logic either, I mean people were running around in half dungeon sets for awhile too. If a player doesn’t want to look “funky” (and lets be honest, based on the ascended armor skins most people will be transmuting the appearance of an exotic over it) they can just park the ascended gear into their bank.
Thats a weak argument, as it takes only a few days to get a full set of exotic as opposed to weeks/months it takes to get ascended due to all the time locks. Also, I dont have enough bank space for a full set of armor because the games storage limits are so rediculess.
It is player’s choice to buy the gem store stone + splitter if they want to look the way they wanted all the time
Except there are dozens of other mmos where people can look the way they want all the time and the fact remains that people will leave the game over it. Its a huge step backwards in mmo gaming to force people to wear mix and match armor.
Answering your questions in order;
Not everyone has transmuted their exotic armor as it all maches; unlike the people who will only have 1-3 pieces of ascended and don’t want to be mix-match.
Because people should not HAVE to buy transmutation stones just to not look weird.
Because after using transmutation stones to hide their ascended armor to make it match their current exotic; once they get the full set of ascended they would have to use splitters to get the ascended appearance back.
The problem with GW2 is that the rewards never feel worth the time. They keep adding meta achievements that take a week of grinding and all we get is some back piece item that wastes precious inventory space.
I think living world needs to take a serious look at the rewards for such obscenely tedious week-long grinding. Just look at all the complaining about WvW Season 1 rewards.
In any other mmo, every single quest gives rewards. Since GW2 has felt the need to change out quests for un-immersive achievements; every single achievement in living world should give gold, exp, loot, or karma just like a quest should.

I cannot stress enough how huge of a mistake it will be if we cannot get ascended armor in sets. Whether it be because we can only afford 1 or 2 pieces or because of some random reward system. If people have to look funky they will leave the game.
Likewise, people will be extremely upset if they feel like they need to buy transmutation stones now and then transmutation splitters later once they have the full set of ascended armor.
Please add a daily crafting quest solely for leveling experience. Have the NPC provide the ingredients and require the player turn in the item crafted so there is no profit from it. If the quest rewarded 25% of a level it still take a month just to get 7 levels.
You could also have the daily quest stop at lvl 400, forcing players to get from 400-500 the old fashioned way.
This is actually true…

You can see in the original thread the toys were called “limited edition”. What annoys me is not that I bought them in the gem store but that I have been wasting a huge amount of bank space for the crafting supplies when they seem to have changed the way the toys are obtained.
Ug yes please. Having to carry several basic salvage kits makes the game feel tedious and badly designed
poor coglin. The devs are already going to nerf the runes. They made an official comment saying the runes are “on their radar” and they are going to make some changes to it.
Thats a very good point. Its kind of silly because so many recipes require more then the 250 that our storage is limited to, forcing us to use additional space.
Well for one, when they were max stat they did not also require a transmutation stone to use.
Addressing storage in GW2 is tricky because of the fact that it can be extended via the game-store. However I believe the developers should be conscious that many players will not be willing to use the gem store to do so and will still expect to maintain a certain capacity of storage if they plan on continuing playing at all.
I believe that the time to increase the games base storage limit has come. Although for the sake of the gem-store there are some ideas of how it can be done without changing backpack or bank limits.
1. The amount of back pieces and head-slot items from events is outrageous. I believe these items should be made infinite use and placed in a collection tab
2. Every character should have multiple tabs of armor. Maybe they have an separate set of armor for dungeons, wvw, etc. A second or third tab of armor can be selected just like the town armor.
3. A new type of collection tab for items that can stored but still used w/o removing and placing the item back in your bag. Items such as potions and boosters which can overwhelm your inventory and switching between toons is tedious.
4. A place in your armor tab to place food and other consumables which once placed has an option to auto-consume.
5. Portable crafting tables for lvl 400+ crafters; to refine crafting materials at which are already full in bank/inventory.
Weapons created in the mystic forge are extremely expensive, requiring stacks of ectoplasm or orichalcum sword blades. While they were worth-while when they were max-stat; they now rendered considerably worth-less with the introduction of ascended stat weapons.
While it would be nice if these weapons were ascended stat I do not believe that to be likely; thus now that they are essentially appearance only items I believe the cost of them should be reduced. Otherwise I fear the graphics of them will simply go to waste as less and less people bother with them.

I’m glad the devs finally did something to encourage trolling and griefing…
Zerging is a player problem and has nothing to do with ANET.
Oh really? Then why are there dozens if not more MMOs with no zerging in them?
Zerg Wars 2 ….
That is absolutely what I am calling the game from now on. Sadly the game has reached the point of no return because zerging has become so fundamental to the gameplay; if they change it now people will probably leave the game in droves because they have no idea how to play.
I hate it, zerging makes the game feel tedious, laggy, and completely thoughtless. Please stop designing living world around zerging and group event achievements. Everything should be complete-able in private instances or solo quests.
Yes, it is permanent.
I have my mesmer parked here for portals. If you want a portal; whisper Emissary Vex in-game. You will need to guest onto Isle of Janthir server.
Oh look! Stealth traps guys! …yeah they only screw up scrub thieves you can learn to kill without them. It’s the classes with less access to stealth that the trap hurts since a thief is never more than 3 seconds away from his next stealth. If these were meant to nerf thieves then ANet has proven again the incompetence of the team, and provided more grounds to be rid of these clowns who have, are, and will continue halfassing development. Either double the team size or replace them with people twice as good.
Agreed
Ok seriously – don’t talk about something you haven’t even checked! I just went trough ALL the patch notes since release and there was not a single nerf to the HP of illusions. You must have been playing the beta, or just dreamt it…
Did you really think anyone was going to believe you read ALL the patch notes in the 30 minutes before you responded? If you are done exaggerating you need to read on the traits and spells that affect HP.
2.
None illusion addicted defense abilities of the mesmer? Hm… Scepter block, sword block, sword blur, chaos storm aegis, F4 is even timeable with a short summon from sword 3 e.g., mimic block, tons of aoe projectile reflections, portal, blink, staff 2… I can’t see a problem to evade or block attacks without illusions … The “problem” is not the mesmer I guess …
Oh wait, you think having a couple blocks is even remotely on par with the complete invulnerability that other classes get? Let me laugh harder
The trap is for mesmer veils in zerg vs zerg. You would really spend badges to reveal a solo thief?
You are joking right? You think the trap exists to deal with an invisibility that only lasts 3 seconds and would be fade before you could even get the trap out?
Which profession are you playing?
Mesmer has some of the best active defense out there, and most of them work without illusions :/. Besides, only completely new players will mistake a clone for a mesmer, in pvp.
edit: as far as i know, illusion hp got buffed. They dint have to stay alive anyway, you can shatter them for vigor or let them die for weakness. Clones dont really do anything if you let them stay there :/.
Name two ways Mesmers can survive on par with other classes without clones.
I specifically mentioned the AOE used by the new boss revamps and you compare that to newbs in pvp? Your point could not be more irrelevant.
No their HP did not get buffed, it got nerfed, twice, immediately after launch.
The fact this trap exists is proof that thief invisibility is overpowered. Why aren’t there any traps that compensate for any other individual class?
1. I don’t like that Mesmers cannot summon clones on invulnerable NPCs. Necros and Rangers can still send their pets on invulnerable NPCs but because skills do not work on invulnerable NPCs we cant summon clones; which leaves us completely vulnerable to attack and we do not have the gear and other self-surviving skills to compensate for it.
2. Our clones HP was nerfed into the ground since launch and now with boss fights being made harder clones have become twice as useless because any AOE attack can one shot them.
I agree with the post above me. As far as WvW goes; mesmers suck. It has been my experience that it is the least played class in WvW which is proof in itself. We have some utility but we are useless outside of the zerg and arguably the worst class for 1v1 and other small fights.
Ok I have made quite a few whiny posts myself, but this is ridiculousness. You are being forced to do jumping puzzles because you want map completion? I would pity you if the puzzles were even slightly difficult or tedious; but they aren’t.
This is my list for GW2
Problem: RightClick Targeting toggle
Problem: FieldOfView
Problem: no first person view
Problem: glitchy camera mechanics near walls and on tall characters inside is another
ArenaNet, I am disappoint
^ This.
GW2 has too much shoddy programming. Including the fact that customer service apparently does not have the tools necessary to perform reimbursements. But at least that does not affect every day gameplay like the items listed above.
I made the same mistake. This is very badly implemented.
The problem is the game allows you to “soulbind” and equip the identical ascended jewelry anyway; which implies that you can wear both. Then surprise surprise; the game actually unequips your original piece of jewelry. This is terrible programming.. The game should not be removing my gear to allow me to soulbind a second unique item; it should instead give some kind of warning.
I petitioned to get the item replaced with one that I could use; but I was told that they do not have the tools necessary to perform such reimbursements. Very frustrating.
This game will never have mounts for two reasons.
- Mounts would interfere with “dodging”; which is a core functionality in the gameplay.
- Mounts would trivialize speed buffs, which in turn would make dozens of skills, including weapon bars, irrelevant.
I love player housing. As a couple people have mentioned, EQ2 has by far the best player housing of any MMORPG. However, EQ2 launched with their system. In my experience when games simply add player housing later; its kitten gimicky content. The engine most likely does not support a good system for player housing and they wont really allot of time nor money creating it. Because its often kitten it usually turns into a huge dissapointment and a huge waste of effort by the developers because no one likes it.
If GW2 adds player housing later I hope it is very very well done because if its going to be kitten id rather they not add it at all.
It is well known that the game was supposed to have an entire underwater continent which obviously didn’t make the cut when the game was released. The leviathan was most likely related to that content.
Ok so there are two arguments.
Point one – Dailys are optional
Ok thank you everyone for stating something so obvious that it hurts. You mean Anet doesn’t have a gun to our heads forcing us to do dailys? Who knew. Now lets just pretend for a second that we WANT the laurels but we don’t want to do the daily. This has nothing to do with being entitled or lazy. We WANT to do the harder content in the game, dungeons, etc; which after doing only contributes to 1/5 or LESS of the daily.
Point two – Dailys are easy and you complete them just when ignoring them
So this so obscenely ignorant it hurts. You only complete them if you are the kind of person who does nothing but overland content. Try doing nothing but a dungeon and tell me how far you got along in your daily
My point
I have nothing agaisnt laurels or ascended gear being easy to get via solo content for most players. The problem is that people who want to enjoy harder group content AKA dungeons are being punished because they cannot get dailys without simply playing longer and doing easier solo content they dont want to do. From the people arguing to keep dailys exactly the same easy solo way for everyone dailys take upwards of 45mis to an hour. Now we have idiots saying that is barely anything stop whining. They are completely ignoring the fact that we arent even whining about it taking that long; the problem is that it takes that long on-top of the other content some people actually want to use, like dungeons.
Now how does wanting to be able to get laurels from harder content lazy and self entitled? Everyone keeps pretending like someone is arguing the laurels should free and effortless, such arguments are completely ignorant.
This is from my other post
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Dailys-are-tedious-to-say-the-least/first
Make a seperate WvW, Crafter, Dungeon and Overland daily, and let people choose which one they want to do.
The WvW is easy, just pretty much keep what you have, let people get kills, work on events inside of WvW. This daily should reward tokens of honor or whatever those WvW tokens are called.
Crafting Daily, for toons or people inside of towns. Just add more items. Ideally improve the crafting system entirely by adding some new in-town quests. Let people do some daily crafting quest that rewards basic crafting supplies or karma to buy crafting supplies. These new crafting events/quests can be required in the daily.
Overland Daily. Pretty much what the daily is now except no WvW, no crafting, none of the BS. This daily should reward a ton of extra experience, making it perfect for leveling alts; at least equal amount of completing a dungeon if not more.
Dungeon Daily. If you add 3 dungeon explorables to a daily its pretty much want every dungeon runner wants to do anyway and it will help keep groups together instead of the person that always leave after one path. If you require in dungeon kills you can also help solve the problem with speed clears. This daily should reward dungeon tokens of your choice.
Ideally the laurels will be removed from the daily entirely because the time frame is the most insanely hardcore stuff ever. The developers don’t even have the decency to tell us if Ascended gear will be the last tier of armor or not. If its not I am sure everyone would rather buy dye and other stuff with their laurels. Put ascended gear into crafting, random fractal drops. Anything but the daily.
This community is seriously the biggest collection of cry babies ever.
It took me all of about 45 minutes to finish my daily yesterday, and the only one I had to actively seek out was the Kryta Slayer one. If 45 min is too much time for you to invest in something, then don’t play an MMO.
You have literally ignored the entire point. The point is many players have completed all the overland content and want to enjoy other aspects of the game; but there is no point in playing the rest of the game and doing the things that we want to do Fractals, Dungeons, Spvp; because we have to magically control time and add 45 minutes to our day to do the daily. You obviously didn’t even read anything. Like where dozen or so times I have already said is what I want to do is spend 2 hours doing dungeons; but there is no point in spending 2 hours doing dungeons if I have to spend an additional 45 minutes doing dailys.
This games back to one of the major skills of this game that ppl do not seem to understand the ability to make friends. If you go arone doing things and not talking to any one your time and the mmorpg community time. These games are not mindlessly pleaser dispenser there is some meaning behind playing a game where human interaction is key.
Wah? I want to do dungeons with people and not boring solo content so that makes me anti-social? Do you see the hypocrisy?
Sorry, but as much as I can admit the game’s grindy, there’s one place I’d draw the line between “tedious” and “plain laziness”.
So because we want to do more difficult group content that takes longer we are lazy? Because we are bored of overland content and have done ALL of it before we should have to keep doing it every single day on top of the dungeons we already run?
If some people want to do nothing but noob solo content all the time for their daily thats fine. I certainly wouldn’t want to force said players into dungeons where they are unwanted to begin with. But if people already play 2 hours a day doing dungeons they shouldnt be forced to add more game time on top of that to do the daily. Some people already did their world completion and don’t want to play their level 10 alts go plow through some nooby zone events.
If Anet goes through with never releasing Cantha, I will not quit GW 2, but I will probably not buy the next big game they make be it GW 3 or something else. My RP style and loyalty is relying on Cantha being released
If you tell them it defeats the point, now all they have to do is not put it into GW2 so they can use it as a selling point for GW3.
The berserker was by far our most powerful clone and even after the nerf it still is. The bigger problem IMO is that the other clones don’t do enough damage; its obvous; just look at the fact no one ever uses the other clones (in PvE)
Everyone knows shattering is terribly weak in PvE, so we rely on clones to do most of our damage. The problem is the damage that the rest of the clones do is negligible.. The only other clone that doesnt decent damage is the warden. The problem is the warden stays in place making it almost useless.
I don’t what everyone expected. Someone at Anet obviously loves that class type.
The original Guild Wars is widely known as one of the most unbalanced mmos of all time. Assassins had a skill that literally made them immortal. Every farming group everywhere was assassins. The shadow form imbalance lasted until after they started making GW2.
I have this issue as well and it makes the game feel more annoying to play every day.
Here are two other related threads as well, including a big 7 page merged thread on the issue.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Long-Zone-Loading-Times
I have a good computer. I didn’t always have the problem. One day I even tried turning down graphics “all the way” just because I was so frustrated and hopes it would help; It didn’t.
I agree. Leveling is an extremely outdated gaming mechanic and its one of the reasons I loved the original Guild Wars.
Leveling breaks immersion. Imagine a game after 10 expansions, There is nothing more stupid then a level 200 rat being more powerful then the level 50 dragon from the original game.
Using a giant noob that doesnt even invis is a completely irrelevant example to use any in class balance discussion. It was probably his first 5 mins ever zoning into WvW.
I don’t even know what to say. It is obvious why this issue exists.
And there is one issue that epitamizes it. We have a trait that lets us move faster “for each clone”; which means only in combat, when speed is next to irrelevant.
Its a classic mistake, they tried to make mesmers a jack of all trades but its extremely difficult do without making such a class overpowered, so its just easier to make those jack of all trade skills underpowered or useless.
Another example is mass invisibility. Without exaggerating, mass invisibility doesn’t even last long enough to run past a single individual mobs aggro radius. The only purpose it serves is to break aggro from mobs in PvE. In PvP it is literally useless beyond the point of trying to exploit the games culling issues.
I hate the mesmer downed state.
The spell used to teleport you away from the mob. At some point (months ago) it either became bugged or was nerfed because now you have like an 75% chance of it teleporting directly beside/under the monster. Please let us choose where we want to teleport so it isn’t suicide to use, so we can avoid traps, etc.
Using the downed state teleport in a group is often the opposite of being helpful because it creates a clone that confuses your group members they have a 50% chance of wasting precious time rezzing the wrong person. These types of clones should only confuse people in PVP. Please make the clone appear as an obvious purple mist to your allies and a less ethereal clone only to your enemies in PVP.
The right click issue comes up constantly and I have avoided posting in any of the threads because I simply hoped that Anet got the message and is working on it. But now I am posting because they have either chosen to ignore it or they have not prioritized this issue properly. It is extremely annoying.
If you really think it takes the entire staff to add a few items to the gem store every month you are crazy.
If you want to be serious there is no reason to doubt that the majority of their work is going into whatever the next expansion is.
