lol I guess you guys are going to high five and take a shower now after that zinger. Nice one. You know…with the word play..really clever..winner into whiner…still chuckling. Good stuff.
lol, crying? seriously? Are you completely daft or is it in your personal attacks you’re trying to get the thread closed?
“Go PvP as an endgame-that has been the premise for this game all along if you didnt know….”
I probably would want this thread closed as well had i made that statement and then having the Video Manifesto posted underneath offering zero support to your claim.
The calling others who don’t agree with me children, also awesome. Simple solution for you, if you see a post and see my name within it, just skip over it. Avert your eyes. Presto, no need for name calling.
Sin, with my 60 bucks came access to the forum…evidently someone has forced you to read what I’ve written and for that I apologize. That is unfair that you had no choice in the matter.
@Muthax. Where are those games now?
Rift floating around a 200k sub base
Swtor- F2P Considered a failure, Founders of Bioware resign more than 75% of staff cut. Server Merged then Merged again.
Tera 50% of staff cut, going F2P servers went from 35 to 3.
The Secret World Lead 2/3 co-creators gone. staff cut 50% going F2P
Rift is hanging in there barely the other 3 have failed in and or around 6 months.
Yup its defiantly me.
Oh so the part where I invalidated your two posts is just kinda… Its actually funny, I don’t know you’re if you’re trolling or just…well, not thoughtful.
yes actually-it is a pvp game.did you know about the game before it launched-or guild wars 1? And you act as if the "grinding "was even a bit hard.DAoC,when it launched, took about 12 hours a day farming the same group of mobs over and over for a month to go from 49-50.maybe longer when you would lose xp
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifesto
If it were to be Pvp focused, someone defiantly didn’t tell these people before they shot this. There isn’t one mention of Pvp nor a frame of footage to support it.
I’m not saying that I didn’t know they were working hard on their pvp, i just didn’t think they would even bother creating such a wonderful 1-80 experience on to have it end a few days after.
Totally. lvl to 80, grind dungeons max professions..all to pvp. Gotcha.
Zeph, I tried to make farming an actual endgame however through the implementation of DR on virtually everything in this game (WvW, DEs, Leveling Exp, Farming, Dungeons) I am, and have been, in the same boat for weeks.
My new endgame is to try to find a game that lasts longer than 45 days. Though the MMO market hasn’t exactly been spitting out winners. Rift, Swtor, Tera The Secret World..all i,ve played in the last year and will now have to add this game to that list.
I would assume that would be where the CM removed the post not allowing that particular portion circumvent the discussion. Beyond that, Logic would dictate removing the forums all together as we obviously cant play nice with one another.
“Every discussion thread is welcome as long as it keeps on the topic and free from personal allusions/attacks. This thread has gone rampant in both respects and because ot that, we will proceed to close it. Thanks for your understanding.”
Just a follow up on a closed thread. Given that this is an open forum with people that have differing views on the state of a game they either love or wanted to love, isn’t it a given there will be disagreements? If a Community Manager feels TOS were broken or a personal attack was made, isn’t it easier to delete that post rather than close the thread?
Just curious as there have been quite a few threads I felt opposing sides were moving the dialogue forward only to have a few come in and have the subsequent thread closed.

If you have ideas on what should be changed post it in Suggestion forum or move on. Posting such topic here is not constructive and looks like crying from some kid. Thats all.
Hmm What forum are we in? Also, i do apologize you were made to read this. That is unacceptable and you shouldn’t be treated that way in a forum.
I do play the way I want and I cannot see any grinding or farming in the game. Of course if you want the dungeon set and you want it NOW, well, you need to repeat the content continuously. Personally, I am gonna play the game the way I want and do dungeons when I want and I am calculating that I will have a full set in 3 or 4 months’ time.
I believe that the community is so “addicted” to the reward-based model that they cannot value a healthy gaming environment where the fun is the reward.
Reward-based model? Thats a new one as I’ve never seen the contrary until i played this game. Reward-based>Punishment based.
Thanks for letting me know that 40-odd people won’t play a massive free to play game after dinging level 80 and decking themselves out in full exotics because they don’t feel a sense of progression and thus want all efforts to cut down on botting to keep the economy healthy dismantled just so these 40-odd people can log in and farm farm farm farm farm gold and then feel like they’re doing something worthwhile with their time, i.e., feeling a sense of ‘progression’.
Here is an idea: How about you and your friends do something fun together and maybe you’ll feel a sense of progression in your friendships, via this free to play online game that has been out for a month.
Have fun bros.
I know it must be shocking as my experience with Gw2 is so contrary to the publics. Being the first person to post on their state of the game was tough but I felt I should share and see if possibly people were having the same issues.
I sincerely apologize FXLEACH that my post and the subsequent 50 plus replies weren’t to your liking.
Legendary weapons are just cosmetic, they don’t have better stats. You don’t need to own one one month after game launch. It’s legendary armor for a reason. If everyone would be able to get legendaries just one month of playing, it would no longer be called “legendary” but “common” instead.
If one can, one will with motivation. Saying "you don’t need to own one (insert time)’ is your opinion.
World first 80s shouldn’t have been that fast. World first map competitions means they didn’t stop and enjoy the content. Clearing all the dungeons in the first month is too fast.
All Opinions.

@Andrew 1. I was referring to zoning around a 1-15 lvl zone, not in and out of the zone. My level “4” for the sake of this example, still costs me 10 times the amount of the other lvl 4 players.
@ Grom In a 1-15 lvl zone, the loot is the same un less you’re talking about the Des which are hit fairly hard by the DR quickly.
This one is pretty easy.
Q: IF i’m down leveled to lvl 4, when then am I paying more that I did as a level 4 to travel in and around a lvl 4 zone?
A B2P game in which SELLS its OWN gold. Yes i don’t get it either.
Someone asked why I farmed. A few others compiled a few guesses at the costs of legendarys but really, that isn’t it.
Farming, after map completion and dungeon set of choice is acquired, is the only thing that makes me feel like im progressing in this game at all. My main is in full exotics but I never quite feel like i’m progressing.
Going to a lvl 40 zone and being killed by 3 ettin (ele)…its odd, the down scaling, though i understand it, keeps me forever feeling i never leveled past 30. (getting the elite slot)
The gear really isn’t that big of a deal. It’s just something to distract you with at 80 until you have it. It doesn’t seem to make that much of a difference.
(edited by Evil.9061)
My circle, around 40 players wont play as the current global DR kills farming in the only 80 lvl zone and the DR in dungeons is a crap shoot. I guess make it 41.
Even if they “fix” the Dungeon rewards, the farming is still kittened. “Play like you want…unless we don’t want you to play that way.”
Ciao’
I don’t miss raids one bit.
Every single one of other MMOs have them and are focused around them. It’s fresh not to have them. How long do you think the fun of those dungeons is going to last?
How would I know? That depends on the player. Someone enjoys doing something longer than someone else and someone doesn’t like something at all. I can of course make a wild guess based on other games. In those I’ve seen people running dungeons pretty much forever. Always some group looking for more.
In those other games, most of the players were actually being rewarded though for running them. After you complete a dungeon set, milage will vary.
Apo I agree with everything you said except the crit part. My highest to date was 8700.
@Nerva. I just cant think of Zerg V Zerg as endgame. Time will tell and if my server or 4 guilds I have the option of representing are any indication….I’m not alone.
The dev’s that have replied to various post on DR here have stated they will NOT be giving out any specifics about the system as they don’t want anyone to… figure it out.
Yes, evidently Anet has finally done something that has never been done in the history of 1s and 0s. They have made the perfect system impervious to prying eyes and enigmatic to anyone without a stopwatch.
Best guild name in GW2 after the cooking patch.
<Butter Thieves>Thank you this is excellent info. We would like dungeons to be legit hard enough to take closer to 45 mins but if we can’t accomplish that goal we can look at the speed clear times from non exploiters and easily adjust the system. The goal is that hardcore farmers don’t even see this thing but only exploiters. We will keep working towards that goal.
Jon
3). Make all way points contested during a boss fight and re-enable them when the boss is no-longer engaged in combat or dead. This they will never be hard if people can just keep throwing themselves at these things. Would also make revival skills worth equipping.
This one would probably defeat two or three core idea’s behind the dungeons.

Inci you get as much as Ref? Both of you are very good at what you do.
Since you post in the Dungeons forum, I suppose you are doing dungeons for experience.
Dungeon XP and coin rewards suffers the same diminishing returns bugs that tokens now do, since the September 17th patch.
Actually it was open ended and wasn’t aimed at dungeons. The DR in dudgeons are evident when you clear. I guess this could be moved to general.
(edited by Evil.9061)
Look at all the DR, all the patches and all the reasons. Everything has to do with taking any and every possible way one can dependably make money…out of the game.
I wished there was a friggin sub so we could have avoided this.
Playing an alt, the guildies and I are noticing the leveling is actually going much slower. However, it seems the next day, for a time, the experience gain is back to normal speeds.
Is this something thats in but hasn’t been talked about or are we all crazy?
Farmers, exploiters, anyone who make positive monetary gain. = Exploiters. Learn to play,,the Anet way,.
but hitting different paths quickly won’t initially draw the influence of the DR system. .
“Running through multiple speed clears back to back will result in the DR system influencing your rewards.” -Robert H 9/26
Dont these directly contradict one another?
Only if you have poor reading comprehension.
“So if you run multiple 10 minute dungeons, back to back then you are going to get hit with the DR system no matter which paths you choose.”
but hitting different paths quickly won’t initially draw the influence of the DR system. .

Thanks Robert…. I have been playing under the assumption that Anet couldn’t possibly punish players for completing dungeons (notice the plural) quickly.
You just confirmed you aren’t the company you represented prelaunch nor is this game represented in the Video Manifesto.
Thanks also for making some room on my hard drive. Enjoy the 60 bucks.
If you’re too good at this game, we’ll punish you.
Lol, somewhat.
You’re also missing the part where … “if you’re trying to experience/learn the dungeon content but any hiccups happen that prevent 100% completion, you get zero rewards … we don’t care if you killed 90% of the bosses”
Killing 90% of the bosses in Arah in a 2 hour run and then the group not finishing … something outside my control … should not leave me aggravated and thinking, “wow, I just wasted 2 hours in Arah exploration mode that I could have spent farming in Cursed Shore”.
Ehh you wouldn’t have missed much. CS has one mob type: the Risen. Anti Botting code kicks in when you kill the same mob type remotely close to the same area between 10-30 min (haven’t nailed it down as to exactly when but items just stop dropping) Anet hasn’t been forthcoming with this info as it may lead to…um.. exploiting somehow.
So…basically….we’re….beta…testers now?
(edited by Evil.9061)
Dungeons are designed to bleed money from you. Everything is designed to bleed money from you. Travel, TP % is crazy as a tariff on posting and receiving, Gathering equipment that is perishable.
So how do you offset the costs? Farming? Not with the cleverly implemented “anti botting” code. (pssst Its actually anti farming and it effects everyone) Dungeons? More often than not these will cost you money and as you can see, rarely work correctly.
Look at the dungeons. Most are very long (ensuring deaths and repair bills) or short but have at least one encounter that includes mandatory death (repair bills)
All of this to fool players into thinking “whoa, yeah those items have the same stats as what i already have but..they indicate i’m leet.”
Now that players are doing these dungeons and because these dungeons are really the absolute end of PvE as it currently stands, Anet is forced to drag this experience out as long as possible to cover the hole that there isn’t an endgame. Having everything you want a week after hitting max level is..well, bad for business.
Making these tokens Account bound= “Hey ,we know you’ve gotten all you wanted, now try a new profession and have them in 80 exotics the second they hit 80” Fun eh?
Just another attempt at covering the endgame problem- there really isn’t one.
Fun doesn’t factor in the current profitability factor. It will but likely will only be addressed once its too late and players have migrated elsewhere. It’s not as if this is the only B2P/F2P game. Many are rounding out Betas at the moment and are probably thanking Anet for a lot of lessons learned.
Then again, this is my opinion based on observation and deduction.
when you start making tokens drop in the dungeon you need to make it where magic find doesnt affect them or everyone is going to run in magic find gear which would make dungeons take longer
Wouldn’t matter if you’re in the dungeon longer than 5-10 min the "anti botting " tech would kick in (even faster with the DR) and nothing would drop.
Updates to come.
1. Experience caps per hour on alts.
2. Valor caps in Spvp- scratch that, no money changing hands, this one is ok.
3. Badges of Honor Caps per 30 min.
Only logical to follow the current changes.
Punishing for clearing the dungeon too fast is completely absurd.
It shouldn’t matter how fast you can clear the dungeon when you are already punished for repeating a dungeon path. Why is it necessary to double punish someone who is capable of doing the dungeon with ease?
Diminishing returns for multiple successive runs: okay
Diminishing returns for finishing too fast: the worst idea ever…
Well how else do you extend a truly non existent “endgame”. I mean they cant come out and say “It is in our best interest if players do not have a sustainable way of creating income or attaining goals quickly regardless of skill or game generalship.”
There is no reason to punish people for clearing your content too fast. If you can’t design dungeons that take a decent amount of time while not using large hp pools as a crutch, then you should probably be replaced by a more competent designer.
+ 1 million
Punishing players , after you had addressed design-based myopic issues, is wrong. Players who craft or grind gear will get better results with time in character. Ergo faster completion times and directly into punishment for good play.
Diminishing returns based on completion time, Well if you wanted to be revolutionary….that truly is.
As far as live being your Test realm, might not be the best idea.
I’m pretty sure it’s bugged at the moment, so lets wait until they fix it before commenting on the diminishing returns system.
“If you are experiencing Diminished Returns, it is due to clearing dungeons too quickly.”

Posted today.
My post was focused on the hour for 2 dungeon runs then you hit the DR.

Robert NEVER said that the intention was for you to kill every mob that spawns. He said that the intention was for you to FIGHT them
Sorry, stopped reading at this point.
Cool. Maybe you can read this, it’s from the original post by Robert:
“2. I extended the time from 100 seconds to 200 seconds at the Door Buster event. I intended for you to fight those guys, not circle strafe them and aggro leash chain them”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/The-CoF-Buff-My-opinions/page/2#post158017
I’m sorry about that. My post was argumentative but I ask myself, and the rest of you, this. What is the intent of fighting something if not to kill it? (in reference to this game)
(edited by Evil.9061)
Nice video and Good job. I did notice that even with everyone focusing one add in the first wave, you weren’t able to down it before the next wave spawned. Those are some leet mobs. So 4 deaths in that event. 1 under my 5 prediction. Thanks for posting.

and it clearly says that “We must defend MAGG”. What happening is we are not defending MAGG but we are kiting. I’m a Warrior and the Skills like FEAR ME, Band Support, Endure Pain ( Invul for 5 Secs ) is not enough. Maybe they must weaken a bit the enemies in magg defending part.
The mechanic is quite simple as is. 1 person alive in that room will have 100% aggro on all the mobs. The more people in that room the more the aggro is split up.
It does indeed say “defend Magg” however I guess the Mobs dislike us more seeing the ONLY way they will attack Magg is if no one is in the room…Logic> Mob AI
Remember as per Dev instruction, we are also supposed to kill those adds. Devs>Us
Everything working as intended, nothing to see here.
Lol I would have loved to have been at that meeting.
Dev 1" Hmm all the CC is kitten. Peeps are going to be raging on the forums"
Dev 2" Have you thought about adding random rocks that act as über cc?"
Dev 1 “Nailed it!”
As far as my response to your post @Sky. It is very difficult to determine nuance in type. That sentence could have read two ways.
1. Your intended post, sarcasm or.
2. Two sentences separated by the…
As intended gave me a chuckle.
