They contain the same types of items. Only difference is, that you get the low tier versions of snow flakes as well as the low level variants of the recipes and runes.
Not a problem if you know how to transpose
I’ve actually developed a little program which allows me to translate any midi file into notes for the choir bell items.
Now looking for 8 more players to enact the Skyrim main theme…
There are 3 items which come in stacks from giant gifts:
25 glue / stuffing
1 / 10 snowflakes
3 bells
Rest is only 1 items per gift.
No, you can’t. Unsafe winter gifts will only contain the toy skins, not the wooden skins.
You are. You have two sets of skins, the gem shop skins (wooden weapons) and the events skins (toy weapons).
You also have the 3 gem shop chest minis and the 4 or 5 event minis. You can ONLY use the gem shop chest minis to create the Quaggan mini.
You can’t get the gem shop skins from any gift or regular ingame reward. It’s different with the Quaggan, as it CAN be in the regular gifts, but with a chance of less than 1:10.000.
The “ruined ore” would probably have been a snowflake of a tier which was to high to harvest with your tools.
Looks like the bonus items were assigned to the wrong level of node.
Not exactly.
It is intended that two sigils which share the same trigger share the same cooldown (so you can’t trigger two effects at the same time), but if the sigils have different triggers (like in this example one triggers on critt, the other one triggers on weapon swap), it just makes no sense.
You can see how it was meant to be at sigils which don’t have CD, you then have the effect that only one sigil triggers on a certain event, but a sigil without CD will still trigger while another sigil is still on CD.
Does anyone know if this “chests bound to account” affects ALL chests, including the normal jumping puzzles and dungeons? I wouldn’t be surprised if it would.

(These are notes for the permanent bells, not the mini game. You can’t play the strophe in the minigame since you need more than one octave.)
About 0,1% (or even worse, more like 0,05%) from gifts.
And the complete song with synced lyrics:

Some for the endless potions. Although buying a second one to “unstuck” it isn’t an option since their are no potions on the TP.
The buff says “1 minute” before switching octaves. If you switch octaves it says “15 minutes”. Yet the bells will deactivate once the original (now hidden) buff runs out.
Problem:
You will receive damage for every note you play using the bells in open PvE. You will receive damage until the next note would kill you, then the bells will disappear.
Health regeneration is deactivated.
Bells can’t be deactivated.
How to reproduce:
Go diving, activate bell while underwater.
You will have an empty skill bar, except for the octave swap keys on the right end.
Leave the water, the notes will appear in the skill bar.
Play a note. Every note will damage you for 5% of your health.
If you reenter water, the notes will disappear from the skill bar, but the octave swap keys stay.
Bell deactivates if health drops below 5%.
It is not possible to deactivate the bells by using the “weapon swap” key.
How it is supposed to be:
You could play without receiving damage.
You should not be able to equip a bell underwater.
Bell should deactivate when going underwater.
The bells will act as they are supposed to if activated while above water, the bug occurs only when activated while diving.
This bug affects both the “choir bells” and the unbreakable version. It appears like equipping the bells under water causes the bells to use the wrong skillset (the one from the mini game instead of the PvE-version).
Bug part two:
Health regeneration is also turned off while using the REGULAR skill set.

And while at it, please consider reclassifying the unbreakable bell from “consumable” to “toy” so it can be stored in the toy slot of the city costume.
It’s 60 seconds time limit. And it raises to 15 minutes if you change the octave.
If you got the quaggan straight from the chest, you have hit the jackpot. You lack the mini Infinirarium (flying golem like zeppelin).
10,000 gems is $125. Thats close to the ANNUAL fee for most MMORPGs. And it looks like they are going to charge that for every event from now on.
Thats not adequate, even if only a small part of the community will waste the money.
It’s plain ridiculous. Look at what the complete collection would cost you, and how much that is if you would try to buy that with real money!
It’s over 10.000 gems (and could be far more if you are unlucky!) which means 5 gem cards for $25 each, so a total of $125(!!!) for the mini pets alone. Now add seasonal costumes and you are at $150 for this event.
And don’t tell me you could buy the gems with ingame gold. You can’t. Not without buying gold from goldsellers first (which by the way would still be cheaper than those kittening gem cards.)

All snowflake equip is +condition duration, + vitality, +precision.
Could be helpful if you play a bleeding based condition build, but pretty much useless for every other build. Also lacks +condition damage, so it would actually slow down any condition build.
Only interesting part of the set is the superior sigil which has 60% on critt to transfer a condition from you to an enemy. 10s cooldown, but is capable of moving whole condition stacks at once.
It’s even better:
There is a total of 9(!) new minis.
3 of them come only from chests from the gemstore, with a chance of somewhere between 5-15%.
5 could be constructed by players, but you have to choose 2, the other 3 can only be bought straight from the gemstore for 350 gems each.
But the last one tops it all: You have to throw 3 of the minis from the chest into the mystic forge to get it. That means you need actually 6 pets from the chests if you want to have a complete collection.
Every of the chest minis costs about 1600 gems (80 gems per chest, 5% chance) alone….
So if you wanted all of them (assuming 5% chance now) for your collection, you would need to spend 3x 350 gems + 6 / 5% x 80 gems = 10650 gems on average, plus participation in all 5 event days.
(edited by Exterminans.9723)
I guess somewhere around 5-15%. Although things are a bit complicated.
One of the minis can only be obtained, by putting 3 of the chest minis into the mystical forge.
And the 3 minis you can get from the boxes are not the same as the 5 minis you can get from the event.
And from those 5 minis, every account will only get the mats required for 2 of them, the other 3 need to be bought from the gemstore for 350 gems each.
Only if you are lucky enough to get into overflow for group matching first. If that worked, you can do the dungeon cross server.
You can also get it from giant / personalized gifts with a chance of somewhat between 0.01% – 0.1%.
Giant gives you exotic lvl 80 recipes and lvl 65 sigils, as well as all weapon skins, flawless snowflakes and the unbreakable bell. However, chance ist ~ 87,5% that you will only get a sweater from it. Chance for exotic receipts and sigils appear to be somewhere around 1,5%, chance for skins less than 0,5%. Chance for unbreakable bell is round 0,1% or even slightly worse.
Personalized gives you the content of ALL tiers of gifts, that means everything from lvl 35 green recipes up to lvl 80 exotic. Also all types of snowflakes and all skins. However, chance for skins seems to be much higher and you also get more mats instead of wool trash.
As for the unbreakable bell (the only item worth it), I guess it’s about the same chance as getting an endless Halloween potion (which also required about 1.000 personalized bags on average(!!!!)).
The server sends those informations to the client, even though it is displayed nowhere in the GUI. Now make your own assumptions…
You are expected to exploit other mechanics. Easiest way to get the achievement is to level by crafting. Waste 3-5 gold at once on mats and you will get enough exp.
Or try to explore one of the large maps in a single session without dieing. Afterwards continue grinding for another 2-3 hours and you got the achievement.
As for your last question: Yes, they are.
And that one with the low cooldown has the drawback of having a ridiculous low AoE range. So if you want to benefit from the only effective group healing you have, you actually have to go to the frontline and join the pug with your light armor.
It’s not the lack of the holy trinity whats so disturbing with the GW2 combat system, it’s the fact that all professions are forced to play the same way. Dodge, DPS and try to perform timed combos (either solely or with group members). Thats all you can do.
GW1 was far more flexible. Sure, many groups played the holy trinity build with 2 monks, 2 tanks and the rest did pure DPS, but the game offered far more possibilities. Do i really have to remember you of all the ranger builds, including the trap-builds? Or spike-builds? 55hp with damage reflection?
Every build had a different style of game, not only limited to different combos, but a completely different approach. Positioning, pulling aggro, holding formation, varying demands on timing, it all played a role.
So much of this has been removed with GW2. The system has been reduced to a pure buttonsmasher. And what people call “skill” in GW2 is nothing more than pure timing and reflexes. Call out targets, stay in pug, synchronize combos over teamspeak and thats all. Theres nothing more to the game.
They did not “glitch through the door”, they did not need to.
They used an external cheat program which allows to set them some type of waypoint wherever they like. And they can teleport to those coordinates whenever they like, even in the middle of the combat and for free. WvWvW is full of cheaters.
You get the achievement only for gaining those 500.000 exp in a session. That means no logging of, no leaving the area and not using any waypoints on a different map. Yes, a session is limited to a single map too.
And it’s not considered a bug by Anet, even though these rules are bloody stupid.
What we need is “inverse overflow”. Put servers together for underfilled areas. The distinction between realms is the real problem. There are more than just enough players to get at least one full instance of EVERY area of the world. But currently they spread across over 50 different servers.
No, they don’t.
Bots simply evolved. It’s getting a lot harder to distinguish them from real players. And it’s not those stupid teleport bots I’m talking about, it’s the more advanced type of bot like GW2Minion and alike.
There are still many zergs which consist solely or mostly of bots. And real player join them without even having a doubt about the real nature of those “teammates”.
It is placed so, that it won’t clip with any of those “oversized ultraheavy dungeon armors”. Don’t ask me why they didn’t attach it to the armor instead of a fixed position relative to the torso, but thats what they apparently did.
Why should you? There are far worse hacks and exploits in GW. So i highly doubt you would get banned for such a minor exploit.
I say: Hell YES.
The mechanisms exist, it’s just like using the overflow servers, except that “overflow” would be permanent. Not much of a problem mixing players from different servers into a single map. And it’s not like there would be problems with group-making either, just get that dammend “join friends on other servers” working and there shouldn’t be any problem with crossserver groups traveling from area to area together.
Especially during night time most areas are almost empty. Maybe 1-2 bots, and thats all. So joining servers on time of low activity just comes natural.
I don’t see a problem. Seems like a legit wallhack. To bad it’s exclusive for owners of Nvidia graphic cards.
Btw.: There are some hacks missing in the above list. Among others “advanced radar” which shows you all players, npcs, entities and nodes in your area despite line of sight. Only thing you won’t see are invisible players, but everything else is visible. You can even distinguish between Mesmer illusions and real players.
Oh, and the g’old TP bots. They make a fortune thanks to HFT (high frequency trading. That bullkitten which also causes stock market to crash from time to time).
Cool Down Hack and Magic Find Hack: No, there is no such thing. Thats one of the few things the servers actually verifies.
But the rest does exist. Just go to Youtube and search for “guildwars 2 hack” and start whining. Most of the videos are legit.
Warning: DO NOT FALL FOR THE ADVERTISES IN THE VIDEO DESCRIPTIONS. Although most of the hacks are legit, the site “offering” the hacks are not. Most of them just rip you off. Well, and you might get banned if caught cheating anyway.
That error occurs with all types of sound cards, not only with the Asus Xonar DX.
Rootcause of the problem is not the sound driver crashing, it’s a bug in the Guildwars 2 sound engine. I don’t know what triggers the bug, but i suspect it’s a special combination of sound effects which breaks the engine.
Have fun grinding until you are level 80 with at least full green equip. You won’t find a group for most dungeons earlier, no matter what the stated level for that dungeon is.
And once you are level 80: Have fun will all that lvl 30 crap you get from the “low level” dungeons.
Security IS broken, but for a different reason then mentioned in this thread.
Nowadays you usually won’t go for the bruteforce approach, it’s to easy to detect and it takes to long. Instead you make use of one of the many email+password lists obtained by hacks of various large websites. Chances are good, that you information have already been stolen by someone.
Now there is also a second problem: Many people use the same password on many services, even when warned not to. Now just think about it for a moment, what happens if a person used the same password for Guildwars as for their email account?
Right, their email accounts get compromised, and since the security system of Guildwars only relies on sending an email, the Guildwars account gets also compromised!
Using the authenticator would be a solution to this problem, IF, but only if, it wouldn’t be broken so badly. Too many bugs and too many crashes which don’t affect “normal” users.
That 6/10 is bugged (was since beta).
System messages DO count towards the limit as in blocking you from receiving player messages, but they do not count towards the displayed limit and they don’t block other system messages either.
Thats not how teleporters work…
What you did see on Youtube were fly- and noclip-hacks. Teleporthacks get you from one position to another instantaneously, just like when you use the regular ingame teleport system. Only difference: No loading screen for cheaters, so they are actually even faster and it’s free.
Only solution is proper movement validation on server side, mostly a “radar gun” for player movements. All hacks out there have one thing in common, the player moves far faster than it would be possible by normal measures. And the server is so incredibly stupid to accept any type of movement the client claims to have performed…
Technically spoken, “teleporting” is simply telling client and server at the same time “hey, i moved to spot X”. And both will believe.
Type 2 and 3 are the same. And yes: This type of bot also does vistas. Except that this aren’t bots, those are REAL players who use cheats.
Teleporting in Guildwars 2 is one of the easiest tasks, as the game lacks ANY type of movement validation. The developers did a terrible job.
And it is not new either, this type of bots and cheats is being used since early BETA!
Maybe not a bug but a secret update to the loot system?
After all, there was a major balancing problem with loot for classes with AoE skills and for those without.
