Achievement will not complete regardless of the fact I have all the coins. Please see attached screen shot of me standing in front of coin 10# location (coin does not appear in my screen), with achievement panel open showing coin 10 still incomplete.

Please can you correct this.

The before and after patch issue sounds logical. I will try again tomorrow- fingers crossed.

Its not there as an option. Its not that I did not try, or know how to do that. Happened again in a normal group too, no option to join on map.

Just lost hours working towards meta, beacause I dc’ed and I have no option to join my squad on a different map instance.
Rather disappointing.

I just spent the better part of 2 hours waiting for and doing Dragon Stand Map Meta. I am in a squad, to protect me from disconnection issues. We had just killed the wee beastie when I disconnect. I lost my map, my rewards and the Hero Points unlocked by the event, because I cannot travel back to my map.

This is not the first time this has happened and I am always in a group to protect myself but that does not seem to matter any more. I have lost AB and VB too many times, its not just DS.

Please fix this, its utterly frustrating and disheartening.

I love playing gw2, its a beautiful game but I am very frustrated by the HoT meta events maps.

Trying to get into an active map is like playing a game or Russian roulette, except you want to get shot. :p

Pets
4 of the 5 new pets I want to charm in HoT are locked behind content walls I have no personal control over.

Achievements
I have achievement I want to complete but again, I am totally at the mercy of the rng gods placing me on a map which is active.

Mastery Points
Many mastery points are locked away, behind event completions and/or a large player base on the map.

Possible Solutions – A map LFG mechanic which when you join it brags players from the scatter maps into an active one in a squad. To aid this, add an in game timer for starting these events which appears in the upper left-hands side of the map.
There could be automatic squad objectives and the like to help get things rolling.

I want to play, I want to spend the time, I want you support the player base but I’m locked out, please help me and countless other players too.

Weapon swap or have the weapon spell abilities when you change Spirits.

I’m pro – solo instance and happy to have it match the rest of the personal story. It always seemed odd that it didn’t. I do think it could be improved on and I stand by my points after completing it again with a second toon.

Just getting the NPC AI sorted would make a world of difference to storytelling/ player immersion.

I asked them to do this in a support ticket, they said no. Well they said lots of nice words which can be condensed into ‘No’

There has just been that massive content patch which dashed my hopes once again for a HoM fix.

Any comments from a kindly GM fairy would be gratefully received.

Dear Anet,

I played GW1 and play GW2 every day. I pre-purchased Heart of Thorns as soon as it was available and cannot wait to head off into battle. I have one of every profession max’ed and I enjoy them all. I play PvE, WvW and since ‘PvP 101’ I have begun to enjoy that too. The game is beauty, with rich lore and a development team who are dedicated, talented and love the game as much as we fans do.

So before I share my thoughts I wanted to honestly thank you for creating a game which has enrich my share time and given me many happy hours.

That said, I am honestly disappointed with the last episode Victory or Death and here is why:

- No Risk, No Reward
There is no real sense of danger during this final episode. Even with Destiny’s Edge doing their best ‘I like to stand in fire and die’ routine. Consequently I felt no sense of accomplishment when I completed it. It is hard getting the balance right in this area but I feel you may have gone too far into the comfort zone.

- Destiny’s Edge AFK
It’s a solo instance and it’s on me to get it done, but the lack of DE’s involvement killed any chance of immersion. When they were there they stood in ground effects and perished, when on the Airships they were tethered out of combat. The only way to engage them in any way was to stand on top of them once on The Glory of Tyria. I felt like a team of one and I do not think that was intentional.

- When a Boss is not a Boss
The mechanics of the Zhaitan encounter were non-existent. The cut scenes killed him, I was a passive observer. I found killing the first few champions at the beginning of Arah more challenging than the Elder Dragon Zhaitan. Sadly he just clung to that tower, looking fantastic, but doing nothing of real note.
It’s so disappointing that I had all the build up, with the many story missions, scavenger hunts, and the cleansing of Orr which held so much promise but left me wanting.

- Meaningful Rewards
The gem store keeps the game up and running day to day. I support it and enjoy the cosmetic rewards, toys and utilities it provides. However when I have just invested a large amount of time and effort into completing the personal story I would like a meaningful reward. Is it too much to ask that when we complete The Pact storyline we are given the option of an actual Pact weapon skin? That toe in the water of the gem store skins could even tempt more players to engage with more Black Lion collections.

- Worry for New Players
The personal story will, for many new players, be there introduction to a deeper understanding of the main characters, combat and story of GW2. I fear that in its current state it will put some off even trying Season 2 or Heart of Thorn. This would be unfortunate indeed as Season 2 and HOT are vastly superior in both combat, storytelling and player immersion. It may hurt to have to invest time and money in ‘old world’ content, but I think you will lose more money in the long term if you do not.

GW2 needs new players not just because it’s better for your balance sheet but because its better for us players too; therefore I would like to see any road blocks which could turn them away bulldozed.

Best idea is two or more players as the damage ticks at around 29 per second. I completed it with Miss Bossy Boots today- Many thanks to her too.

I’m for more options/ player choice.

I do not want them to kill the zerker, I want them to make more builds/armour sets/play styles viable. I hope Anet can open the game up and have more meaningful tactics than just stack in the corner and blast. Please note, I’m not saying speed runs are bad or lack required skills – some of the stuff players can do is truly amazing. However I would just like more diversity and better rewards. OMG better rewards!!

Just adding my name to the list of players affected by this bug. Re-log can clear it for a moment but it rebugs more or less straight away.

So sorry to hear this is a seemingly unending problem and very disheartened that Anet are not fixing it.

Getting round the bug – possible solution

I was contacted in game by another player (I will not name names as I do not have their permission to do so) who read this post and offered a solution/work around.
He/she discovered that jagged horrors can damage the fished headed replicators and he/she was able to complete the event.
Please note he/she said it took some time to do so but it would appear necro summoned bone minions are the way to get round this bug.

Please let me know if this works for you, I will be heading over today and trying it out myself.

Same, I have a thread reporting this. At the moment I go there everyday submit a bug report and update my post here. I have had zero response from any Anet staff sadly.

Tired again today Tuesday 9th June – Still Bugged.

Please note this is the second day I have been unable to complete the event and or access the NPC.

Cannot access Scholar Breadan for Treasure Hunter Collection as – Clear Broken Spit of the Risen sea creatures replicating themselves – is broken.

Cannot target replicator’s.

I was killing The Claw of Jormag, and I there was a game error. The game stops working, locks up my pc completely and I have to use task manager to close it. When I get back into game, all the work I put into killing Jormag, ( the boss was at 25% when the game crashed) is lost. I’m Gutted…its killing my enjoyment of a game I really love to play.

I know I can group, but this needs to be sorted. Player effort should be rewarded, not ruined by bugs.

I like Jumping Puzzles, they are fun but optional. When I feel like doing my best impression of lemming I head to one and have hours of eye bleeding fun. I do not however want to be forces to jump everywhere.

I would love to see a change to the mechanics in Dry Top. I know in my guild and circle of on-line friends this requirement has put many off playing in the new areas and completing the living world story.

Please make jumping optional once more, not required. <3

(I know many will say, its optional to do the living story, its optional to explore – but when the whole of the new content is based round those kind of mechanics I think you are stretching the term optional beyond reason.)

I should have completed the Power Play, I defended the three areas and was successful in defeating Tequatl but did not gain the achievement.

I think this is great for all those who enjoy it. I hope Anet do more of these type of achievement/progression activities for their pvp/wvw players. I enjoy E-sports – more watching than playing – and hope this side of the game goes from strength to strength.

My super-main-ultimate point was really – please do not force players into gameplay they do not enjoy.

Dear GW2 Team,

I love playing GW2 – the personal story, the living story, the crafting, the level’ing, exploration, alts and so on. So Halloween is a real treat, it links back to GW1, and really enriches the game, the lore and the lootz.

I do not enjoy PvP and WvW, so I do not do them. However having a Living Story aspect locked until I have complete hours of WvW/PvP seems like you are pushing all players there.
Yes I can just not complete this part, not get the mini pet, not get to experience the finally of the Blood Prince storyline, but I of course want to experience these things so I am stuck.

I would ask you to consider making PvP/WvW elements which are linked to the Living Story optional.

Let it never be said, dear readers, that I do not suffer for my art. I put effort in to my work. Genuine blood, sweat and all other manner of bodily fluids are in tkittenence of every bit of ink you read before you. A few weeks back I went in to talks with a fellow journalist about the growing drug culture of Divinity. I’m not opposed to it myself, everyone needs a kick now and then, but sadly there is always another layer under the surface of our pleasures. A layer that never ceases to find new and interesting ways to hurt us. I offered to help out with their investigation, and in the process do some ‘investigating’ of my own.

It took little effort to find a source. I dropped more gold than I care to mention, but I had bought myself a smorgasbord of narcotics, vices of which have been spread over the underbelly of Kryta as thick as ointment on a third-degree burn. Our race, fellow humans, is one that has suffered in the last few decades. We have gone from the most prevalent species to one on the precipice, looking down at extinction with an ever-strengthening wind at our backs. This does not create a well-adjusted and content society. You need only stand on the walls of Ebonhawke to see the tide of our culture rolling back to the west, becoming smaller with each passing moment, and this has left us wanting. Those who succeed, the nobles, the merchant houses, they sate that lust. But too few are merchants, and even fewer nobles, and those left at the bottom never stop trying to convince themselves otherwise.

A group calling themselves the Republic of Kryta, formed by a union of commoners, has issued an open letter to the people of Kryta and to the Krytan Ministry. Addressing the People of Kryta, the document highlights and outlines cultural, historical, and societal Kryta as an oppressive oligarchy whose bane is the political and social class division between nobles and commoners. Furthermore, it questions judgements made by the Kings and Queens of the state.

Guilds in Guild Wars 2

I came across a statement that I felt summed up the idea behind guilds well. It went something like this, “a guild is a group of like-minded individuals working together to accomplish common goals”.

In many MMOs the main purpose of guilds is to help players advance through game content. This means helping players level and run them through instances and raids in order to gear. However, this isn’t the only purpose of guilds. In some circumstances some guilds are more focused on socialisation than in-game progression. Obviously, in all guilds, there exists a mixture of the two, progression and socialisation, but in different dozes.

Unfortunately, I feel that GW2 guilds miss both of these elements. I’m sure most of you have logged in to find an eerily quiet guild, even though a good few members were online at the time. Or perhaps, you’ve logged in to find only a handful of you representing the guild, while the rest were representing other guilds. Whether the feature to join multiple guilds and switch between them is responsible entirely for a lack of socialisation between members in guilds is debatable. Though, there is no denying that this unique feature is partially to blame.

There, I took tea with the Lady-Chatelaine, Zarabeth Nicholaides, her beloved Arthenon Moreau, the Minister of Fort Salma. Lady Zarabeth had put together what she deems her Tension Slayer tea, something that soothed the nerves and mind as we took company together outside upon a large balcony overseeing the rest of the city.

‘‘Lady Zarabeth,’’ I bowed to the Lady Priestess. ’‘I thank you for accepting my invitation.’’ I took out my small leather bound journal, and looked across the table to her and the Minister.

‘‘Indeed, Lady Kingspear. Thank you for being here with us today.” Zarabeth rested her hand gently into Arthenon’s with a smile as she presented me with a small gift, a bottle

of her favored blueberry wine distilled and created by her own sister Iridoria. “Please accept this with our most humblest gratitude that you would come and visit us today.”

The Line of Kings – King Doric

The lineage of the Krytan throne is fragmented at best, but we do know it all began with King Doric. He was the first king of the united human kingdoms in Tyria. Crowned during the Season of the Phoenix in Ascalon, he ruled over one kingdom that spanned through Ascalon and Lion’s Arch. All modern royalty in Tyria, including Kryta, are descendants of Doric himself.

During 1 BE, when the gift of magic led to wars among the mortal races, Doric journeyed to Arah, as chronicles in Lore book ‘Thadeus Lamount’s History of Tyria’.

‘Wars broke out immediately as the magical races fought for dominance. So much destruction was wrought that humans found themselves at the edge of extinction. When all seemed lost, it was King Doric, the leader of the united human tribes himself, who made the long trek to Arah, the city of the gods, on the Orrian peninsula.
