I’d imagine they’ll do it just like GW1, which was a great model. No level cap increase, so that the majority of new content is relevant to people who are 80.
I think it’s pretty obvious actually, we’ll go after each dragon one by one. This seems likely that we’ll get some of the same areas of GW1, as those areas hold the other dragons.
Windows 8 shows no improvement to performance or CPU usage for my FX-4100, but I’d imagine it would be more apparent with the FX-8150.
Piledriver doesn’t have very big reported performance increases. Wasn’t it only like 20%? That’s just not enough of a jump from Bulldozer.
The FX series is actually poorly efficient and will use considerably more power when overclocked. Just had to throw that in there.
I’m also an AMD person, and I totally understand where AMD is strong. High gaming performance, however, is not the place. I just ordered my 2500K (was on sale, or I’d have bought the 3570K) to replace my FX-4100.
Unfortunately, my FX-4100 does not like to hold an overclock of any sort. Maybe it’s the motherboard. Any useful OC causes data corruption, so it was time to get rid of this board and chip anyways.
We’re acting as if it isn’t only a month into the game’s Live existence. Some other classes need way more help, so they’re getting tweaked first. Expecting a massive amount of work done in a month is ridiculous, in most games it would be entirely acceptable for NO balance patches to come out yet, rather in another 2 months.
Don’t even bring up Blizzard, they left HUGE class problems in for over 5 years.
Most of the warrior’s problems aren’t Warrior specific. Abilities missing is an issue that’ll be fixed for every skill of that type. If it were an easy fix, it would have been fixed by now.
It’s really sad to see people quitting the class because it doesn’t have an easily exploitable bug anymore.
Has anyone noticed that sometimes it DOES offset the camera, making your character lower on the screen? It may do it during combat, but I’ve only really noticed it a few times.
All the functionality is there, we just need a slider.
They’re doing the best they can. That rocket boots water glitch was far more important to fix than the busted traits, unfinishable events, stupid mechanics, etc.
The people who would have fixed rocket boots are NOT the same people who would fix any of those other things.
Well, I think there are to sides to this discussion:
1) I guess nobody can deny that there simply are a lot of bugs in the game. I run into bugged events and other bugs almost every day, and that is a fact. None of them are really game breaking, but they are there and they are annoying. Most of those bugs shouldn’t have been there to begin with, but I personally think it’s pretty clear now that anet got forced to release the game a few months before it should have been released (my opinion, not to be taken as a fact)
2) I think people imagine fixing things a little too easily. It’s not only finding the problem and resolving it. In a normal update cycle, those fixes have to go through Quality Assurance and get tested for a while. So even if the problem was fixed, they normal still test the fixes for a few days or weeks. This has not been done in the first few days after release, there was an update almost every day, but for me it now seems that anet got back to testing their fixes as most game breakers are fixed by now.
I disagree. For an MMO there are not a LOT of bugs. You simply ignore things that aren’t showing any bugs.
What people need to understand is that it isn’t just the more even distribution of the levels, it’s also not a freshly launched game anymore. People don’t play every night for many hours at a time like they do in the launch rush.
Whether or not it’s an MMO is not a matter of how you feel, it’s a game genre.
I wouldn’t move to a Medium, as far as I know people bailed out on those 2 servers. Kaineng specifically. Rather, I’d probably look at the WvW rankings and pick a server in the middle, or 2/3 of the way down. That way you’ll have one that needs a few more people, but isn’t depressing.
You’ll want to submit a support ticket for that one.
If it’s wrong, a mistake, or a bug, it’s something that will get looked at.
I still don’t understand why we’re making this out to be a MASSIVE issue. It happens in every new MMO, and it isn’t happening with greater frequency than usual.
People are making a huge deal out of it, to the point of writing articles already, but they haven’t even remotely given ANet the time they need to correct the issue. We’re a month in, report them and hope they complete the countermeasures soon. There’s absolutely no sense in writing entire articles to spread around and make it seem like our game is worse than it is.
Any time you make changes to massive software, bugs pop up all over the place. When you push patches more than once every few months, which most other MMOs prefer, you run a much larger risk of major issues arising.
If you preferred GW1, then it’s best advised that you go and play that. They made GW2 for a reason. They wanted it to be fundamentally different from GW1, they didn’t want to make the same game. They ended up detesting that skill system, which is part of the reason GW2 was born in the first place.
Fozee I can’t speak for everyone but my point is that you could drag someone off the street and let them play GW2, they’ll pick it up in minutes. Maybe that was Anets goal? But the flipside is you have skillhungry GW veterans that are almost going canniballistic for skills
Number of spells doesn’t mean much. It’s something to collect, but eventually it just got annoying and was unfair to new players regardless of their skill level. I very highly doubt anyone rated highly in tournaments would agree with the number of skills being relevant.
The game is constant reward, you’re just looking for the wrong ones. You constantly get achievements, money is easy to get but still rewarding (and worth real currency), and leveling is accessible, plentiful, and never stops.
And what’s this about not being able to show off your gear? Last time I checked, you don’t DO that in other games. In other games, you use what has the best numbers. In GW2, you use whatever you like using and showing off.
Sorry, I’m just not seeing valid arguments.
