Ohoo, now that makes more sense, thanks for the tips! JQ is US server tho and I’m from EU so sadly that’s not going to be possible. Gandara is supposedly pve heavy server as well, our peeps just seem to ignore Cursed Shore for whatever reason.

Here’s a link to my traits and gears. Trinkets are a bit silly but can’t get my hands on rabid trinkets, the spots are never open in my server so I sort of gave up with those. I’m still working on my ascended rings as well. In the calculator the backbag and 1 accessory aren’t right, as the generator is missing karka shell and some random back item I’m using. I’m only running 90% condition duration with the build even when I have food buffs on.

Added a screenie of my real stats as the calculator is a bit inaccurate.

Ninjaedit: How does it lack with missing the 10 points in BM? I don’t see any traits in beastmastery that would increase it in any way, unless it’s some hidden thing? Malicious training which increases conditions applied by pets is in Marksman.

I’m running 30/0/30/10/0 for now with maintenance oil and veggie pizza, might give a go for some other setup later. Even tho I use lots of traps, I don’t want to go with the regular trapper build either so didn’t see any reason to put points into skirmishing since the first trait line gives a nice amount of condition duration. The messyness of our traitlines makes me sadface a lot tho, the things I want comes with things I don’t want!

I’m not sure what you mean by shotgunning axes? Gave me a very weird mental image! I have mainly been using this build for the duels but also gave it a try while I was out with the guild doing some roaming. It’s semi okay, I can easily slow down the people who fall behind of the main zerg or try to flee from us.

As for the weapons, I guess it also depends on one’s playstyle. I prefer torch over dagger for the fire fields and the huge amount of condition damage it does. I also can’t live without my trusty warhorn as I usually drop SoH out for duels. Greatsword feels very clumsy for me, I never get the WOAHH I OWN-feeling when I’m using it. It’s just too slow. Suppose if I practised more with it, I might get that feeling one day :> Been dueling some amazing GS rangers and kudos to you guys for mastering it. However I swap the sword out for shortbow time to time, depending on whom I’m fighting. Against rangers and some warriors the shortbow + axe/torch combo works awesomely.

Been doin’ some ice sculpting with my chainsaw and it’s pretty awesome. As any build, it destroyes some classes and builds instantly, but then there are the ones that just laughs at you and roflstomps you. Eitherway, I recorded some of the fights & would love to get some constructive feedback! The quality isn’t exactly eyegasmic, you can only do so much with a cereal box.

This happened few days ago already but totally forgot about it! UNTY duderos and dudettes, when Dâve was trying to gather people for dueling and he said in gc “JDGE is calling you noobs and cowards!!1!11”.. You might want to ninnyslap him on the back of his head for that!

Was testing this build while doing duels in Wv3 and boy was it fun! Chill truly kitten es people off!

I went with Rabid gears that had 4 Grenth + 2 Svanir runes. I had axe/torch and sword/warhorn with Ice and Hydromancy sigils. Depending on the opponent I swapped the sword combo to shortbow. 30/0/30/10/0 seemed to work nicely, but could give a go for the 0/0/30/10/30 combo later. As for the pets, owl and snow leopard seemed to work best for me.

It’s good if you can’t see us, it’s sort of a ninja thing. Except I’m super bad at the stealthy part and killing without making any noise.. Our TS gets loud when I hit stuff.

I challenge you to do some 10vs10 against us and show some invidual skill instead! 1. The bounty training is for.. Training.
2. It rewards 3,000 influence for small guilds who may have trouble unlocking regular ones.
3. They are meant to help you obtain the regular bounty missions over time as was the complaint of small guilds “we don’t make enough influence”.
4. Almost every guild I’ve seen has offered help to small guilds to complete bounties if they ASK.

If i am ever ikittenone and I see a bounty person, I call it out in map chat with the closest waypoint. If I see a guild fighting a bounty I (and sometimes my other guildies) will hop in to help

Nice to know there are helpful people out there, but unfortunately the majority of the people seem to have really bad attitude when it comes to helping out since they won’t get any credits for doing that. I was doing guild bounties with my guildmates, had a bit of trouble finding the NPC so naturally I asked in the map chat if anyone have seen the NPC around, only to get replies “Why would we help you? It’s a guild thing, you are supposed to do it with guildies and not with random people!”.

didn’t practically see any good AG fights, must be off hours capping and capping some unimportant tower just to get points and avoid fights unlike FSP

They have been working on with their ignoring skills when it comes to rangers. Seems to be working as intended!

Stop with the silly blob whining, we know everyone are doing it and they are everywhere but why don’t you unblob yourself and run with a smaller group? It’s totally natural and part of the game to die when you are heavily outnumbered, but ragequitting and qqing here won’t make the blobs go away. Judge did that last night at AGBL and we had no trouble finding fun fights and lootbags! Kudos to Fury at the north camp, was absolutely amazing battle. I didn’t even get to use the merchant NPC when you guys rushed us :< That camp is my favourite place, always seems to bring the best fights <3

Pretty much anything which breaks immobilize (which traditional stun breaks like lightning reflexes do not do), allows you to teleport somewhere while immobilized, or makes you go invulnerable will allow you to escape entangle.

I’ve found some classes like the thief break out far too easily while others like the ranger are basically screwed if they get caught in it as most builds do not have effective methods of escaping it.

No stun break in the game breaks immobilize. Why? Because immobilize is a CONDITION not CROWD CONTROL. Sorry for caps but the emphasis is needed.

And sol, pal, I’ve watched your duels on youtube. You have a lot to learn. And that’s ok. Everyone does.

You seem such an amazing player that has mastered the most OP class that has no flaws at all in it, just a matter of l2p things for the rest of us noobs out there, so I’d love to see you in action!

Soooo how many golems did you guys throw at our keep? Was hard to tell after all those portals and random numbers shouted at mapchat. 10? 15? Was really good timing for it, we were absolute chaotic mess, lots of people spamming ANY MESMURHURDURS IN JP PLORKS PORTAL MY WIK BUTT UP PLZ when you guys got the gates down and entered the lords room. I’m glad we got few sane, non-JP obsessed people man the arrowcarts and what siege we had left or else we had lost it.

It’s not a bug or hack, you can shoot with catapults through the gap on top of the gate, same goes with AC. Feel free to take screenshots or capture video of it, then report to AN but you will get the same reply: no hacks, bugs, or glitches involved, it’s working as intended.

The duels were awesome, I truly enjoyed the fights even tho I ended up tanking the floor quite a few times. I hope next time there will be less mesmers tho, mesmers are kinda sorta the worst nightmare rangers can face :< Feel free to poke me again if anyone is up for duels, be it in wubwub or sPvP!

Ahhh, duels, yes please! There’s quite a few Judges who would love to do duels, not to mention some smaller scale 10vs10 GvG if anyone is interested :> Sadly 10vs10 is max we can do, couldn’t get any fights up with PS and AR since they refused to do anything smaller than 15vs15 and we couldn’t get that many people online at the same time.

Legendaries require Badges of Honor because you’re expected to put some time into helping your server to earn them.

As it stands, the WvW JPs encourage lazy PvEers to slowly grind their BoH over a month or two rather than invest in a few rounds of WvW and actually contribute as was intended.

People who camp the JP for the sole purpose of griefing PvEers are trolltastic heroes. WvW is large-scale PvP. The JPs are on WvW maps; the JPs are PvP. If you can’t manage fights along course of the puzzle, you’re not skilled enough for any kind of PvP. If you get killed by campers at the end and your response is to come on the forums and moan about it rather than going out and getting Badges of Honor by aiding your server and PvPing in a PvP zone, you’ve got a chronic case of childish entitlement.

I’d really love it if Anet removed Badges of Jumping or put some kind of required WvW contribution with a daily reset before you could access the puzzle.

No but to be serious, the time you spent on creating this topic you could’ve easily farmed 10-20 badges already.. That’s if you actually helped your server, for example by flipping camps instead of tanking the floor in JP!

Did Jon Peters forget that ranger class exists (Jon created this ranger update topic 5 months ago promising us a big ranger patch yet all we got was the troll Aquaman patch and pet icon fixes. If you throw wet noodles at someone, it does more damage than a glass cannon ranger with bows or axes. In all seriousness, I’d be betting on mesmer tho, fun to play and does pretty insane damage.

Hi5 to that Piken lowbie warrior with longbow (think the guild tag had WAR in it? I have memory of a goldfish) inside our keep in EB yesterday, I was the ranger hiding by the lion statue while we were trying to take the keep back. Was pretty awesome pokewars right there! Too bad I got zerged down, would have been lovely to continue it :>

It was nice evening indeed. The start was pretty rough for us, GG, BH and Echo and the pug guilds that followed you outmanned us pretty heavily and we got to tank the floor quite a few times. After we switched characters around and got our sif together, got to enjoy the battles more. No skill lag whatsoever, just culling (that didn’t actually even bother me at all, we knew you were many so it wasn’t surprising) when we clashed into 3 way battle. Also thanks to LAG and our trusty pug sidekicks who were there with us, was fun, thank you!

Arekai, before throwing the suggestions in again, you should read what Robert said. He already gave a reason why pets taking less aoe wouldn’t work.

This lag is a pain in the a.., every time we are more than 30 on a narrow area, skills request at least 5sec of casting.

Glad someone points this out. It is unplayable atm. I’ve never experienced this before. We all known those big fights can be a pain but not being able to cast a spell is something new.

I’ve counted up to 8 seconds not being able to cast a insta-skill. I’m pressing the button but nothing happens, I can run around, I can see people run around, I’m getting crazy hits but my skills won’t go off.

A lot of people leave wvw because of this. :/

Tip of the day:
Split your zerg, have fun with all of your skills.

^This. Stop blobbing and steamrolling. I have had no skill lag in EB (apart from that when the cool kids blobs up in SM lord’s roomand makes the whole map lag) whatsoever because I never run in bigger groups than 15 people :>

I’m crying for help in the general discussion because it seems like no one from AN’s team is reading ranger forums at all (or if you are, you are bad and you should feel bad!). Ranger update topic that Jon Peters created 4 months ago (144961+ views, 1204 replies – only 2 posts from Jon himself, 0 from the rest of Arenanet crew), promised us some ranger love. So far we got nerfs, the epic fail of Aquaman patch and now we got… More nerfs and Hawk and Eagle pets have their own unique icons instead of sharing one. Meanwhile most of the other classes that are already more powerfull (even a wet noodle can hit harder than a ranger so go figure) got some nice boosts. Can someone explain why you decided to boost the other classes and where is the “quality of life improvements” and trait fixes we were promised 4 months ago?

If you can’t answer the questions above or you are a moderator who will just close this thread, before you do so, please, could you poke someone in the office that is not looking too busy to take a look at ranger forums, ask him to view the ranger skill bug topic (it’s a sticky topic, you can’t miss it!) and perhaps try to provide something else but pet icon fixes with your next big update? Yay, rangers are finally OP! That icon fix was all we truly needed!

Whole Judge was running with lowbie asura ellies, lots of bzzbzzbzbzzing and fire aoe all over the place. Also lots of floor tanking and lols in TS when we actually managed to take a tower! Think the most absurd moment was when we got hit by UNTY and while we were fighting suddenly a horde of FURY bulls runs through us. Thank you for the lols and rofls, was awesome :>

People have different way of seeing zergs, one thinks a group of 5 people is a zerg while someone else thinks 20 people running together is nothing but a small group. I understood that most of the people don’t see, lets say, 20 member organized guild group as a zerg, wouldn’t that mean when 3 different guilds works together it’s just a very organized group then, no matter what the numbers are as they are all organized?

For me and I’d dare to say that for the rest of Judge those kind of fights are just a challenge, great adventure that is about to happen, no matter what numbers we are facing. Can’t beat them? Try again with different tactic! Still didn’t work? Keep calm and move on but meh, don’t qq in the forums! If you can’t adapt to the situation then you should wipe and keep on failing.
