Trouble against elementalist

in Guardian

I’ve just started playing WvW not too long ago. I’ve played against multiple classes when roaming but elementalists (dual daggers) seem to give me the most trouble. Any idea on how to counter them? I’m running a mixture of cleric/knight’s/berserker’s gear with 0/0/20/30/20 in traits.

Does anyone know how to get the Conservatory point of interest? The two doors into this area are always closed to me. Completing this map have been very….. frustrating.

My advice for Rangers

BUT its really sad how many bearbows u see in dunguons.

The name of bad class is made because of many bad ranger. everytime i have a hunter in my PUG i never see a frost spirit i always see them use BOW and this rediciolus signet what gives them more run speed and any time i ask one please dont use that its useless in COF they reply i play how i want …..

Ignorant Ranger deserve to be ignored.

ps same goes for other classes who go with defense utilities into a easy dunguon.

A lot of bad players seem to say they just play the way they want when you give them an advice that will help benefit the group more. I can see run speed signet being necessary when roaming on a big map but it’s just not rationale to use it in other circumstances.

More DPS, or some survival?

After the first few weeks of hitting 80, I was playing the guardian with mostly cleric/knight with more points in support/defense traits. However, after I learned playing the class better I soon learned about the importance of damage in PvE. You’ll soon realize why people who’s been playing PvE “well” (speed of runs/benefits) and for a while now put an emphasis on damage. A lot of its content is built around favoring damage & knowing mob mechanics (for dodge purposes). Eventually, I gradually adding on berserker’s gear and now I’m running nearly a full set of it. I was hesitant at first but I’m glad I did since I mostly play PvE. I can still support my team mates w/ some healing/blocks/boons and I become even more of an asset with greater damage. It feels amazing when you know you can still provide the necessary support and still show others you’re a force to reckon with on your own. WvW’s where you can definitely consider survival gear/traits.

Knights and Player Psychology

The biggest problem with the event is that it scales horribly. Players on less populated servers must guest to increase chances of success, in which guesting was originally meant for playing with friends. This isn’t the first time Arenet has done this. Whoever is behind this mechanic isn’t doing a good job at it. Then, you have this situation where berserker’s gear are further glorified in PvE. This event clearly outlined that. But that’s just a whole different issue.

The scaling is terrible

This event is designed poorly in multiple ways. It’s not rational, fair, and can be very difficult. Although guesting was meant for playing with friends, now a lot of people must guest because their server performs poorly in events due to a flawed scaling system. This definitely isn’t the first event that does this.

My graphics are taking a very long time to load. It has more to do more with the details. For example, when I way point to a different zone, the map on the bottom right seems very blurry with the details not well seen. Then, after a minute it’ll clear up. This is also true for when I log-in into the game. Some other graphics detail does not display, such as my character in the hero screen until after a minute. This is all happening while my fps remains above 30 fps. I followed the fps and performance based issue thread and it helped a little but I never had this issue in the past before.

Warriors: nerf ? or buff ? or even remake ?

Warriors are extremely good at closing gaps between them and an enemy. Once that gap is closed, widening it is a completely different story for them.

I used to roll a warrior during the entire summer and although they were quite easy to play, they had quite a lot of problems that made me re-roll with a different class. It didn’t help at all when Arenet started pounding them with nerfs. With these changes, I might as well never touch that class again lol
