EBAY, our long lost lover. Mag missed you sooooo much
Also on Maguuma
We failed to kill the queen and did not have any settlements. We assumed this would mean we would have to recap all settlements and maybe wait for another hour. Instead, our server is now stuck where 0/4 settlements are capped but no capping events will occur. Is this supposed to happen?

From what I’ve seen, it looks like the karka queen has a respawn time of one hour (as long as all the settlements are held at that point). Can anyone else confirm this?
Yep, no special skins. Very plain, I’m kind of disappointed.
Same issue. Got the “gold” participation and got the chest but no achievement unlocked.
This might be a first this week… DB is now in third place ppt. Go SBI and Maguuma, show the bully on the block that they should never stop being afraid of the little guys >:)
I would just like to encourage my fellow Maguumans. We may not win this week in total points but we can cut that rating deficit for sure! Shout out to the groups that are pushing our ppt to over +300 tonight for multi-hours. We always were a weekday warriors server, now it is time to prove our resolve against DB and SBI. Go Maguuma!
I know Anet is hesitant to make traits freely changeable and I can understand that. I’m asking for something even more basic: save/load for 7-0 skills and/or armor sets (if you have them in your inventory). Oh, and if this would be more appropriate in suggestions, if a mod could move it there I would appreciate it.
I played Guild Wars 1 and, in that game, there was an option of saving different builds to load again later. This was an easy way to alleviate the time-consuming process of changing all your skills individually. I would like to propose that there be something akin to that system in Guild Wars 2. By this I mean that I play both PvE and WvW and use different skills in each. As a guardian, for example, I like to have a more damage-focused build for PvE and a more support-centered build for WvW. It is somewhat annoying that every time I switch from one type of play to the other (and I do both quite often), that I have to manually switch my 7-0 skills. Would anyone else be interested in something like this?
I like a lot of these changes for sure but I have a major problem with one of them.
“The “under attack” notice at objectives now displays 30 seconds after it is first attacked.”
I realize that good scouting is necessary to be successful in WvW but it is easy enough as it is to take a tower or keep without adding a 30 second head-start for the invading team. It seems to me that this will just reward the “large zerg wins” mentality because, the more people you have, the more that 30 seconds becomes a nail in the coffin in terms of the defending team having a chance to respond.
Score update for those who are stuck at work. We miss you

Score Update. All servers own basically their entire borderlands in this image.
Finally we have a match that isn’t decided by the end of reset weekend. Looking forward to more great fights with both Kain and Yaks!
DB is all numbers little substance.
And Mag is all excuses little skill.
I looked at this and laughed:
http://mos.millenium.org/servers/view/35/30Despite having the biggest NA presence, Mags were hardly in lead during NA prime time until Tuesday when DB eased up a bit, victory within the tier assured.
Says a lot about the skill (or lack, thereof) of the elite Mag NA zerg
I would just like to point out that Dragonbrand may have been leading in ppt at the time that the NA score was reported but, over the course of the week, the server who has been in the lead for most of the NA primetime has been Maguuma. I’m not saying that there haven’t been oscillations between all servers but overall this is true. If one looks at the millenium tracker referenced above, one will notice that, early in the week, the NA scores were posted maybe once or twice during NA primetime compared to three or four times during SEA primetime. It is hard to make a judgement based solely on those few data points in the NA timeslot. I would also like to refute the statements (from my own server included) that say that any server has eased up during the weekdays (granted there is a drop-off after the weekend for all servers). From monday through friday, I have not noticed a large change in any server’s numbers.
Here’s to another fun night Maguuma. Proud to show TC and DB that we may be smaller but certainly just as tenacious.
I just want to say that I felt very invigorated at the energy Dragonbrand and Maguuma showed tonight. With Dragonbrand distracting TC at their keep in EB, Maguuma golem rushed sm, took it, and proceeded to break down TC keep’s front door. Though TC managed to push out the assault on their keep, it felt good to finally put them on the defensive and put a little fear of the two smaller servers into their hearts. Well done all. All Hail Lord Flame Ram in SM!
I don’t know about everyone else but I think the ranger actually has a pretty good mix of downed skills… when they work. I’m getting pretty tired of losing winnable situations because I get downed, activate lick wounds for a sure revive, the skill activates, my pet comes over… and does nothing and I die. The Lick Wounds skill is probably the most important skill on the downed ranger bar imo and that it doesn’t work over the half the time (from what I’ve experienced) is unacceptable. Anyone else seeing the same phenomenon/frequency?
I’d just like to point out that this match is far from over. Those on Maguuma and Dragonbrand that have been around for awhile should remember the matchup of Yaks Bend, Maguuma 1.0, and Dragonbrand 2.0. Though Dragonbrand consistently racked up around 10,000 points from nightcapping and put their opposition into a deep point hole, yaks and maguuma hit them hard during every day, erased the maps full of red, overcame that point lead, and set them as far back as possible before the next night came around. Maguuma eventually went on to win that match. The point is that nightcapping doesn’t win you a game as long as the other two servers don’t give up and play strategically.
So we will be facing FA and DB, though in what order I’m not sure.
I think I see what happened. Whoever typed in the numbers mistakenly hit the 5 key instead of 4. They most likely meant to report 475210 not 575210. Guess we’ll be seeing FA and DB!
Or… you could spend the last few hours of this match targeting SBI and help propel a new opponent (Maguuma) into the T2 match for this coming week. Currently, the points are very close. Just something to think about ;D
It is possible that millenium just uploaded the correct starting values (old score at the start of the week → “rating” column on their site) for each server. Prior to the release of the official end scores for the last week (which were posted only three days ago), the site most likely did not have the exact values for how the last matches officially changed each server’s rank points. Therefore, when they updated those values, the scores changed appropriately. That’s my guess.
Don’t look now but Maguuma is very close to jumping tier 3 altogether. According to the score update site, projected ratings are as follows:
Stormbluff Isle – Tier 2, slot 3 – 1838.9 (3 hours ago)
Maguuma – Tier 3, slot 1 – 1834.6 (36 minutes ago)
You want a beatdown on Maguuma next round, go out there and capture everything possible to make up those four points. We will be sure to lose those fairweather transfers if we manage to accomplish that.
“And thou shall build a temple to His Magnificence in the most hostile of places to show your resolve.” All hail the Almighty Flame Ram in Borlis Pass Borderland north, north supply camp!
Guys, this is not a forum for discussing possible exploits. This is a WvW forum for this match which means (correct me if I am wrong) discussing legitimate strategy, talking about cool things that occurred in the match, and just generally sharing things with the other servers that one does not have the opportunity to do in game.
I for one have seen some amazing strategy from both my own server (taking and holding Dragonbrand east borderland keep for over a day) and the others (Yak’s very effective small strike teams in borderlands and Dragonbrand trebbing Mag west borderland keep from extreme south end of southwest supply camp).
Thought I’d get the ball rolling on our 2nd discussion about this match-up. Let’s keep it clean and try to not get locked this time. I think all three servers deserve that much respect at least.
In any case, this past night made it clear that yaks and maguuma need to focus their attention on dragonbrand a little more than they have up until this point.
Well, it being a holiday week does throw a little doubt into which server is actually the best but I like how the match is going so far. Slightly disheartening to come back every morning with dragonbrand at +500-600 and about 2-3k ahead but it makes it all that much sweeter to take it back!
As weird as it sounds, I’m actually really glad we (DB) have a really strong Asia/Oceania presence and a lesser (though by no means weak) USA presence. It creates an interesting dynamic where each server has a period of time where they feel pressured and start losing ground, then they get the chance to pressure and push back.
I agree with this. Something like (in relation to US time) Dragonbrand takes the morning, Maguuma takes the day, and Yaks takes the evening/night. It is definitely an interesting phenomenon.
This match has been a blast so far. I’ve never seen it stay this even for this long. Keep it up everyone!
Let’s go Maguuma! Let’s make sure that Dragonbrand and Yaks Bend realize that we are not a server to be disregarded!
To all of those involved in the capture/defense of the fully upgraded Stonemist a few minutes ago, good job. That was a pretty epic fight by all three sides. Great defending by Yak’s and good job to Maguuma for giving us a scare at the end with a rush just as we were capping!

Not to get off-topic but this is a serious problem in my mind. I’m not sure if it is just the “get points at any cost” mentality that prevents this from happening or what? What makes me think this is as follows. It seems like the game was relatively even until the weekdays started. I posit that this is because, during the weekdays, CD gets a full night of capping and upgrading and, therefore, has the strongest positions come NA primetime. This would discourage the other two servers, Ehmry and Maguuma in this case, from wanting to waste the time and resources of hitting those fortified targets when a recently captured point by the other weaker server is open. I suppose this is an inherent flaw in the system of WvWvW, yet theoretically it should be surmountable with a concerted effort by the other servers. I think the larger issue that prevents this from happening is that servers cannot easily talk with each other. I suggested a few days ago to attack CD more often than each other but how many people does that message reach → actually care → share with people in game → are obeyed by most of the server? The GW2 server to server chat is equatable to a game of whisper down the lane played with a mob of shouting individuals in which 95% of them do not care if they hear your message and in which the other 5% half-heartedly try to get the message to an enemy commander all the way at the end of the line while keeping the original message and intent intact.
I disagree with the Ebay turtling comment. I have personally been involved in multiple groups in all the borderlands and eternal. The problem is that, whenever we seem to make headway into eternal and recover “our land”, CD starts trebing quentin and durios. Before any of you go on a “there are ways to counter that” rant, I would like to point out that we just do not have the man power. If we put a treb up in durios (because we cannot hit the CD treb from quentin), the CD treb takes it down immediately. If we place it just right so it can’t be targeted easily, CD just bum rushes it with a huge zerg. And attacking a fully upgraded stonemist with days worth of defensive siege with even numbers, forget about it. So I dont think we are turtling, we are just trying to take what we can. Whenever we try to take more, we are rebuffed either before we can upgrade it or at US night when we have very few players.
I meant no disrespect to any party by suggesting a limited combined effort against CD. For those on Ehmry and Maguuma, I believe that we have been a little overly aggressive towards each other. I’m not sure if this is because of what happened prior or not, but CD is benefiting because of it. As for CD, it is a compliment that I am suggesting this. It means you guys have taken and kept the lead to the point where you are beginning to pull away. I don’t want Ebay and Mag to suddenly become friends [though that would be nice ]. I’m just putting it out there that we may need to tone down the fighting between our two servers for a short span to get things back on even footing against CD.
It might be a little early to start this sort of talk but maybe maguuma and ehmry should lay off each other a little for now. Crystal desert is still ahead in points and ticks (as of 5:00 EST) and are not even in their prime time. I know we have some bad blood between us but this is a three way war for a reason. Lets take it to the points leader!
Dang Dragonbrand, that was an epic ebb and flow battle at Cliffside. I think that lasted something like 2 hours. Well done on both sides!
I would like to congratulate my fellow Ehmry Bay players on a hard fight tonight to try and hold as much territory as possible against Henge and Dragonbrand. Though we are inevitably losing ground, it has been fun working in small, organized hit squads with you guys/gals.
On the other side of the coin, I would like to applaud Henge and Dragonbrand for their efforts to take back their territory in Eternal and Borderlands, respectively. It is great to see that all sides are still fighting the good fight and making this aspect of Guild Wars 2 the fun, three-way war that keeps me coming back.
I believe that the biggest problem with dungeons is not difficulty or party make-up but in finding a party in the first place. The current system of asking people in lion’s arch (of which only a minority are there to find dungeon companions) or going to the actual zone (filled with mostly players who are below the dungeon level or who are just exploring, doing quests, etc – ie. not interested in the dungeon) is not an efficient system. I was wondering if the community had any suggestions to make finding a party for all dungeons easier? My personal suggestion would be to create areas at the entrances to dungeons (not sure if I want waypoints there or not) that would allow players to actually meet and see other players who are looking for companions for that specific dungeon. Any thoughts?
