The system will do that if someone declines or fails to confirm for the match.

I don’t think we want to do that for mid-match DCs. It would means pulling a player into a match in progress, which can be disorienting. There is also a good chance they’d be put on the losing team as the other team has had an advantage while this is happening. This just wouldn’t be fair to that player. Sure we could ask, but what if no one says yes?

Also, what do we do with the player that DC’d? Do they get dishonor? Do we give them a grace period?

What about the other players? Do we keep them idle until a replacement is found? How long do we wait? What happens after that?

There are other options as well. We could just cancel the match and no one gets ladder credit.

It might be doable, but we’d need a good user experience for all involved.

What about what this guy below just adviced? I guess most of us would like a solution like this. Because we all know… is all about leaderboard…

How about they way Dota2 handels it? When you have a dc on your team the guy disconnected has 5minutes time to reconnect, after that the game wont get into statistics and is free to leave. Since Dota matches take 3x as long as a GW2 match, I’d set it to 3 mins (even then you have huge disadvantage).

Addiontaly instead of giving dishonored to dc’ed players (it’s not always intentional), they can only queue unranked matches and their next 3 matches wont give them any rewards (rank/track progression) and they musn’t leave in these 3 matches…

I play mostly D/D and I’m willing to learn and improve with new builds like Staff Ele and whatever else. As D/D ele i’m not that bad even if I started playing elementalist just recently, I can’t say the same for Staff ele altough. I would like to play with other guys that have yet a wealth of experience in the pvp ambit. I would like to play with other team members that will use team speak and that have/will get a working microphone and which all the team members are communicating. Also very important I would like to play with other team members that can give/take criticism in the right way, also, that can take a loss without crying/raging like babies. I’m just noticing that more the game changes the more players and friends I lose. So yeah I want to invite everyone of you that has seen a friend, a guildie or a player leave the game for undefined time, due to changes that may have kittened him/her off or due to something else, write his/her name in the way I’m doing below, so we don’t broke any rule. This way we can effectively see if the thing is terrifying alarming like I’m reading on many topics around this forum, or it’s just something to don’t care about. Maybe we can even be aware of some of the most hilarious reasons why some players left the game. I’m perfectly serious about this topic, so I ask you to be yourself.

Logging in for an extraordinarily small amount of time once every two weeks isn’t an imposition for people with lives. If it does manage to be an insurmountable wall for you, I suggest you uninstall because your life is far too busy to waste time on something silly like video games.

I will explain by the way. Let’s take a game with expansion packs like Gw1 for example, and a game witouth expansion packs but that requires to log in for 30 sec 10 sec or whatever is it to unlock the content, also you can buy that content on the tp. Okay fine, follow the reasoning:

1st case: I can buy an expnasion pack with massive and huge contents for about 40$.
2nd case: I buy a small little piece of nothing new apart npc talking for about 20$ and I will have to spend more 20$ to pay the next step of the story and so on.

Simple Logic. By the way I will stop posting because you’re not understanding what I mean and because we’re going off topic. Who’s smart enough doesn’t need more words.

All the new living story stuff. It’s in a journal. Every single bit of it can be done later. You have to log in during the living story for a few seconds, click on the stupid thing over your minimap and bam, unlocked forever in your journal. Playable and replayable.

Except if you don’t play it for one year, you can’t go back and play a year’s worth of it. So it’s not an expansion, and will never be as good as that. They keep making temporary content as a carrot to try and get people to log in, but it will never be ‘an expansions worth of content’ unless I can go back and play everything I missed.

Why do people always postulate an expansion for GW2 would contain more/better content as the LW seasons plus feature packs? There are no proves for this assumption. While waiting for an expansion there would be no new content for one or more years. An expansion can’t fill this gap. With LW plus feature patch you will not have a gap. When season 2 ends season 3 will start a few months later. Between the seasons we will see a feature pack with a high odd.

At this rate for season 2 we will get a number of dynamic events equal to 5-6 new maps. We will get a dozens of new world bosses and hundreds of new recipes. We also get many new stat combos and weapon sets.

I can also make assumptions: the first four episodes are the Flame&Frost equivalents. The episodes afterwards will be quadrupled in content.

The size of a map is not important. You could triple the size southsun. People would still ignore it for most of the time. Important is the content and it’s density. The density of events in Dry Top until now is higher than in most other maps.
Two episodes are two less far an evaluation of season 2 like the first two episodes of season 1 where to less for an proper evaluation of season 1. A first decent evaluation can be done after 6-10 episodes.

I’m not disagreeing. What I AM saying is that if I miss this content, I can NEVER go play it. With an expansion. I could.

I would like to have a good Guardian for sure. So let’s say that one of those spots is reserved for a Guardian. Then I would like to have an Ele (we had a very good one but I’m not seeing him anymore online so yea If you have a good knowledge as elementalist don’t esitate to whisper me in game.) and a thief. I’m not picky but possibly players with a good knowledge of their and other class. So we can start making progress together.

Yes but you ought to understand that players can’t spend a whole life just finishing a little piece of story like dry top. Just give them all together like Gw1 expansions. When I can play I will finish them myself, not that If I can’t play that day that month that hour I miss everything.

Maybe was better if they would have never made Guild Wars 2. So at least we could have seen Guild Wars Utopia.

Actually, it’s only one week “officially” to get your name out there, but I get where you’re coming from. You could post things like check this vid/my stream before the names were out, but if you mentioned being a candidate for the tournament, anet would remove you from the list. I’m mainly frustrated that Blu is king of popularity/advertisement through his streaming tournaments and not as a player, but he’s getting all the votes to represent as an “all star” player from NA. That’s where the issue lies. Again, he deserves to go, but as a player? Not sold on that…

Officially yes, but the players on the list knew about it for at least 2 weeks before it was announced. You couldn’t publicly say “hey vote for me for allstars” but you could have started streaming, trying to be active on the forums, whatever to get publicity. If some players didn’t take advantage of this that is unfortunate but its on them.

Now, I’m not saying Blu should or shouldn’t go, but not trying to get more popular just before a popularity contest has fairly obvious results.

To be honest I guess that the only thing that’s “pathetic” about the “All Star Team” is Tage asking players to vote for a full TM/TCG or, whatever they want to be called, team. The game probably crashed on him. This is very common in GW2. Forget Anet staff helping you out, they already have hundreds of bug, error, crash etc etc cases to solve. Well not solve, they bullcrap you on as long as possible to avoid the ultimate truth that is, the game is a disaster stability wise. Very poor design.

Watch the first screen for mother earth…. Underlined there is “XXXX Goes to sleep” that to help you understanding, he had to go back there, and write /sleep…. But yea, screenshots are there for no reason.

You can have the same problem in Team Arena since you can join without a full team….

The Solution to this problem is pretty simple and it’s none of the ones you’ve been saying far now. Add a Leaver Counter. The more you Leave, The More you Fall Down in Category.

Category A: Never left a match.
Category B: 5-10 matches left.
Category C: More than 10 matches left.

Obviously the Matchmaking is done in Base of your Category. And the problem is finally solved.

By the way, saying that they will never do anything it’s a thing and saying there are no solution is another. I’ve played other games as well and I found out this problem just in Guild Wars 2. About the screen stuff, they’ve been edited.

Hello everybody. I’m John. I’m an European Tpvp and Warrior fan. I’m not new to Spvp. I want to learn and improve always more as warrior and as team member. I’m still stucked at 95% both Sq and Tq. I would like to finally play with a permanent team that deserve to be called “Team” and that is formed by players that know and likes to play their own class. Now that they’ve removed glory and we can’t buy armor tokens anymore from sellers and neither we can salvage armors because the tokens doesn’t drop always and if we run out of armor skins we can’t get them back anymore so how can I get armor tokens to use in Mystic Forge?

What about add more variety to the PvP system?
