We ran from 20-25 last night most of the night, but I was really happy with the new tactics and whatnots that my guys had worked on.

Great fights from [Hawk], [RET], [NERF], [RAM], [HOPE] and the other 2 or 3 Guilds I missed. We may have been outnumbered most of the night, but I hope that we gave y’all some good fights.

WTF……really most skilled groups look for the 15-20 range.

It’s easy to kill massive forces when using a choke and/or siege, I’ve done it plenty of times. What’s hard is doing it in open field, against organized blobs. Fighting pug groups is easy, fighting good organized forces in open field, not so much. We’re working on getting better at it.

I normally don’t run in a blob, we just ran with some friends of the Guild ([RIP]) and [INC] came to some of our fights, we went to some of theirs. This week we’ll be back to a smaller force, but I’d been gone all week, and said “YOQO” and decided to blob it up. Gotta counter those FA and Ebay blobs. ;D

Ebay and FA, be ready for this week, because EK is going to come out to the battlefield blood thirsty due to a week off. I’ve been on vacation, and Friday was the first raid I lead for about a week, and either tonight or Monday I’ll be back out looking for more blood. Friday night was a great night, 92 heavy loot bags, 2 exotics, and 4 rares, and about 200 kills before you guys quit poking into our territory! (We were on EB)

On a good note, I finally managed to pass 50k kills!

A shout out to [Agg], [qT], and [NS] on CDBL last night during NA. Great fights while [EK] was there, sorry we had to leave the bl early. :P.

We YOQO’d to many times into [Agg]v[qT] or [NS] and wound up getting owned, but we still had fun.

Highlight of the night for us on CDBL: Being able to survive an [Agg] attack at our Gari, and even kill some of them! you guys are hard to kill. Keep the fights coming. Got our first GvG ever with [qT] tonight, can’t wait!

So i got bored tonight, and decided to run around a bit in the BL’s dressed as a robot. I found a random boxing match with an EB Charr from “All the Cute Charrs and Me”, I had some necro from vT (who was trashing like 3 guys at a time, nerf) transform into his Asura Racial Golem and punch the crap out of me, and, best of all, half of Elysium Knights turn in to quaggans and mourn my death after I tried to run through their zerg.

We tried our best to NOT kill you, but the militia don’t always listen!

Since this match is pretty much done, I just want to say thank you to all the SBI and EB players that fought against my Guild. We won a lot of the fights, but we also got our fair share of kitten kicking. Keep up the good work, hope to see the same intensity next time we meet!

With the nightcapping, there also exists the problem that no matter how much effort you put into defending your BL late night, it will all be undone by the time you wake up because a swarm of noobs comes and knocks it all down unopposed.

The point I am trying to make is that it shouldn’t matter to you that a swarm of noobs took points in your BL after you logged off. In my opinion, what should matter to you is whether or not you had fun defending it when you were online. Did you fend off a swarm of 20 with your 10? Did you ninja a tower with only three people while your commander was taking a keep? Did you run into a small 5v5 around ruins and later chat with your opponents to give them props for a good fight? If zerging is your thing, did you enjoy the karma train while pwning newbs across the battlefield?

Ignore the score. Ignore which server took points when you were offline. Pick an objective and try to accomplish that objective competitively. Attempt clever siege placements. Even troll your enemies.

If you truly cared about the score, you’d be on one of the T1 stacked servers, but you’re not. So ignore the score and enjoy the fights. Trust me, you won’t find a higher server morale than when most of the folks who fight along side you have this kind of attitude.

I agree with Lychon. I was in T1 and that is all about scores because they are fighting for who is THE #1 server. Since moving back to CD, my Guild plays mostly for fights. I’ll go and cap stuff, but I hate PvDoor, so I go out of my way to try to find a bl where the fights are good. Usually either EB or CDBL when it’s getting pushed. Moral in my Guild has never been higher because we don’t worry about the points when it’s not our prime time, and when it is our primetime, we go balls deep and do what we can. Have some fun, and remember, you only quaggan once. #YOQO

Another point since you piped in here Gismor, I know for a fact you want to make a difference on CD, it’s obvious and you’ve made it a goal. Know this though Gismor, we are not from where you came from, we’re not all like you and yours and what you’re trying to build. We don’t all want to be on TS3, some don’t want to hear a kitten thing beyond game sounds. Know this though, CD folks do watch keeps, do watch towers, do run dolyaks. CD folks may be “weak underdogs” because of our lower “tier”, but we do refresh siege and set it as we can, and people do sit like kittenes, or dedicated folks to a stupid game, at towers and keeps like any other server.

Yes, I have some animosity in a way and I should say it to you Gismor. You came from what? TC? You expected another group of players and another server to instantly accept you? To accept your style of play and dedication instantly because you came from a “higher” place? Nothing works that way unfortunatly, and I’m sure it’s been kitten you that folks haven’t bowed beneath your superior suggestions.

That all said Gismor, I think you’re getting it. You’re spending alot more time now “sleeping” in towers or spawns because you’re bored that folks aren’t getting “IT”. You chose to come to CD, and we’re not too kitten bad, but if you want to be number 1 then you’re quite a long ways from that and you need to move man. We have shown, vs at least 7 to 1 odds for many weeks now, we still do try. If ya wanna “win” go join the team that has the most numbers.

I never said I was better than everyone. If everyone doesn’t wanna get on TS3, then so be it. Those that join me I expect to get up to the level that EK is trying to achieve. I don’t expect to be accepted, either it happens or it doesn’t.

I can’t control the pugs, and once they see a cart, they get on that kitten, so don’t go and say EK uses open field carts, we only do that if we are outnumbered 2:1 or 3:1 or 4:1, and at the time, we did have equal numbers, which is why I didn’t have anyone use it. Besides, I’ve seen Mag guys use carts to take out my guys, when it was 40+ vs 20 in a tower (we owned the tower), so don’t even accuse EK of doing it. I think all that fought EK last night knows what we can do. I went 3 hours without going down once, and we wiped Yak’s Bend everytime we saw them last night, and they easily had 30+, 40+, something like that.

If anyone has any problems with EK, you bring them to me, otherwise, you forum trolls can stfu, and let the real people in WvW do the talking.

Fun night tonight on BGBL! BGA and the Blackgate militia manage to flip T3 Hills from SoR during NA prime! Then we got to farm for over an hour, till we finally lost it again! Lots of fun, hope to see more fights like it in the near future!

P.S. There was minimal skill lag, I LOVED it!

I think there was just something funky in the water tonight. JQ had its own BL a solid color by like 10:30 central and BG followed suit a little later, though I can’t recall how much later. It was like everyone simultaneously thought, “hey lets cap our own maps and ignore the others!”

About 1am central. I know I finally went to bed after that Briar tower power thing.

If you’re talking about on BGBL (which I assume you are) THAT was a fun fight. You guys were so determined to keep that tower! I think we wound up using….3ish golems, some trebs, and ya, it was expensive… :P. Kudos to those JQ that managed to hold it for so long, cost me me lots of money… (mumble mumble mumble).

To all you JQ/SoR trolls/forum warriors, I just want to say this: Blackgate is not a dying server, and we will NOT roll over and die. Today, during NA prime, (SoR’s dominant sector) we managed to flip Hills, and then Bay, and then later full cap all of BGBL. Yes, I may have pulled a ridiculous shift, but that doesn’t mean that Blackgate is done. No matter what, I will keep fighting, so, SoR and JQ, be ready for some heat during NA, because I’m going to be coming at you guys full speed, Blackgate is far from finished.

Keep bringing the good fights SoR and JQ, it was fun fighting Choo (mostly I think) when we took Hills, if we weren’t in Lord’s room, we might have failed. See you all on the Battlefield.

Great fights during my couple hour run on BGBL, I just randomly decided to kitten there, and managed to have a decent force (20-30) of our militia following me…and I had no tag. >_>. I just wanna give a shoutout to Rydiar from JQ (Guild tag [HOT]). We were trying to 1v1 on EBG, but both BG and JQ guys kept showing up, then 5 SoR guys came to ruin our fun, and we managed to wipe them all. xD. It was a fun fight, and SoR had to ruin our 1v1 session.

**note: this does not mean we are allied with JQ, which I know you forum warriors will think. I just wanted a 1v1, and SoR came to crash the party, and we fought together to beat them.

First of all, this isn’t meant as a hateful thing or as trolling or anything stupid like that, I’m not one of BG’s forum warriors.

I was just curious as to what happened to JQ? You guys have always been fun to fight, and given a great challenge, and I miss that, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me as to what happened? I’d hate to see such a great opponent fall apart. :/.

Score update from your friendly neighborhood naked Norn Commander!

This isn’t really a big deal, just something I noticed. I like to run without a tag when Commanding in WvW, so I don’t attract to many militia to me and my guys (that way we can be super organized.) One way I liked doing this was to stick out as much as possible, and sometimes being the big fat Norn I am just isn’t enough! So I spent a decent sum of money (it’s a lot to me since I’m a poor Commander that just does WvW xD) on buying/making the item: Potion of Ascalonian mages. It used to be that when you used it you would just transform, but none of your skills got altered, so I could still use my utility skills 6-0, AND stick out for my guys. But since the recent patch(es), that has changed. I can still use my weapon skills (not bad [staff Guardian]), but I am unable to use any of my additional skills (6-0). I was wondering if someone could shed light on if this was intentional, or just a side-effect from something else, and if there is any way to get this fixed?

World versus World. No. Zerg versus Zerg. Please change the name to reflect reality. Because anyone thats spent more than ten minutes in wvw knows that its all about safety in numbers and zero about playing your class (unless you get into one of those really rare one vs one or one vs two situations). And if you didn’t bring friends (or you are on one of the lowest ranking wvw servers in the game)…good luck using every running away skill you have. Fun? Not on my server.

I just want world completion, I like PVE and I HATE (no word strong enough) this stuff. Pay to transfer? I’d rather eat my eyes with a rusty spoon. But thanks for all the suggestions i’m sure will be forthcoming.

First off, don’t take this response the wrong way, it’s meant to be a nice response, and a simple inquiry.

You say you HATE WvW. Have you ever actually run with a good Commander or a good group of friends? I’ve found that the most enjoyable way to play WvW is to run with a good group of friends, or under a good Commander. As a T1 Commander, I try to both win, and have fun while leading.

Hate all you want, and you can still keep your opinion, but what I have noticed is that a lot of people that say they “HATE” WvW is because they run under a bad Commander or only do it for world completion. Honestly, I say every person should give it a shot.

And just as a heads up, all these clips were of T1, the biggest zerg fest ever. The second video shows how you can win with smaller forces.

If it makes you feel better, I have a level 8 necro that is WvW R 5 and has 51ish badges on him. And he’s level 8.

Only a WvW Commander knows the feeling you get when you see the LA Commanders..

What class are you? The best class is a class that can tag anything (like a staff Guardian)

Not if you actually do WvW.. I can farm around 100 badges a day at least, as long as there are good fights to be had.

EDIT: Because of actually doing WvW and fighting, I have 6 stacks and the Gift of Battle atm. >_>

In my opinion, none of this is going to get fixed anytime soon. It takes them months or weeks to even get a patch out there that does SOMETHING to WvW, and lately all they’ve done is mess up WvW (in my opinion.) Making it so that rams are useless? -_-‘’’ I wouldn’t mind the fact that eles can’t block treb shots, but then at least make it so that a class like engineers can at least fix the siege? (makes complete nonsense, I know.) I don’t feel like rambling and seeming like I am QQing so I’ll stop. :P

Fellow WvW players, it’s clear that ANet hates WvW, and only cares about what the PvE heros think. ‘Tis the sad truth. :/. I never thought that I would get bored of WvW, but alas, I believe I have. It’s gotten to the point that if you don’t have a big group of players, you might as well not play, unless you want to sit at a tower all day/night on arrow carts, and if an enemy zerg is smart, they won’t even come near the tower, or they will treb the walls and siege inside, making you get facerolled.

I’m hoping they get something done soon to make WvW more enjoyable again… :/

In my opinion they should just remove the jumping puzzle and increase siege drops from players and npc’s that are on the map. JP’s just tempt the PvE heros into WvW, and take players away from the Commander(s). With the removal of the JP(s) PvE only players won’t bother coming to WvW and we can get those that actually want to have fun and kill baddies in only.

To take away from all the QQing and people yelling at others on the forums, I actually want to say something nice…

I want to say thanks to the JQ guys/gals on BGBL last night @ about 7-8ish server time (after you took our Garrison). I had about 7 guys on, but after awhile we got down to 5, and we tried opening some gates as sneaky sneaky ninjas, and we managed to get one open, but then it turned into a 5v5 then you guys kept getting reinforcements, and we kept winning (somehow!) until out of nowhere, I just hear a “oh kitten!” from one of my guys as your zerg comes from behind! xD. It was a lot of fun, I hope you guys had as much fun as we did!

All the big time WvW Guilds will know about this (At least they should). It won’t affect anything other than maybe being able to get more organized Guild players in. I know I won’t be able to make it, but I usually can’t make them anyways. Oh well.
