Mesmer is hard to fight her, as clones wont do any dmg. Take 66002 and fight until she teleports you – but just before that, spawn portal at the right side of the arena. Then after teleportation use WP to belka boss zone (remember u can’t be in combat!) and open portal. You can now use terminal again and finish her pretty fast with the dmg boost from terminal.
Tried this with a friend last night, was hard to make it work, friend had to go so we gave up but i think it maybe cuz of bad rng with deadeyes/technicians or we leashed them during the run, not sure which. Although it def looks promising.
This is a guard – thief duo, with the guardian bursting the first 50%. I can’t think of anything major that’s changed since october that would prevent you from replicating this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFn9AJcFzSQ
Interesting, we have had trouble. My S/o’s build might not be optimized for thief. I will have to check it.
For warrior, it’s like 99% RNG now because our F1 skills are still bugged since Sept 9th.
I’ll explain the rotation:
1. Cyclone axe (axe #2)
2. Swap weapons to GS
3. Hundred blades (gs #2)
4. Rush (gs #5)
5. Whirlwind but interrupt it half way through with a weapon swap
6. Cyclone axe (axe #2)
7. Crushing blow (mace #4)
8. Eviscarate (axe F1)This is the absolute best way to ensure you are pushing as close to the phase mark before the eviscarate. In order for it to work, you need to be using the traits 65003 and it is absolutely necessary for you to use arms V, because you need good luck on the eviscarate so as much vuln as you can hopefully build.
Start the fight on full adrenaline. If you have failed right beforehand there should be grubs surrounding the terminal. Wait there until they hit you enough to get full adrenaline before starting.
If you have no bloodlust, then the eviscarate must hit an absolute bare minimum of ~160k otherwise you won’t succeed. Almost any time that I succeed my eviscarate hits in the area of 165-175k, highest I have hit since the nerfs was 189k. It’s all luck.
Sometimes you hit too much damage before the eviscarate, because this rotation is specifically for pushing your luck as far as you can go (otherwise you won’t succeed). You will know if you should reset if your hundred blades hit anything significantly above 330-340k, because that means you won’t get to use your cyclone axe + crushing blow before the eviscarate, which are both very important because you want as much vuln built up as possible.
I know it sounds like a pain in the kitten , but soloing Brie on a warrior is actually annoying as hell now. It used to be fine, but maybe when/if they fix our burst skills with the Berserker’s Power trait it’ll be okay again.
Anyways hope this helps.
Thanks for the in-depth reply, 2 questions though:
1) Except for bloodlust what the other sigil recommendation? Force? Accuracy? Frailty?
2) If not warrior then what do you recommend?
learn to play it properly with casual/relaxed teams before throwing yourself into a speedrun team with high expectations.
This is most often the crux of situation. Something that i do a lot of time when i just want to do a casual run or trying out a new build or character i will say something like “p2 chill mode” has always steered me cleared of kitten and ive had runs with people that way who are truly skilled and sometimes i will get a party full of newbs. Either i will take over the aforementioned toxic wastes.
GoD Obelisk.3057: Him is actually a her LOL but thanks!
Pics or dint happen..jk but i just automatically assume everyone is a him haha.
Yeah after i saw your video it dawned on me to burst her near 50 for that extra chunk. That was a cool vid, ele is my fav class in game (dont ask why she is not geared propely then :| ) and i need to start hitting some of the more challenging solo content with her. I know i can dodge because i leveld my ele to 80 w/o traits and some lv 60-65 armor since i had no idea tp exitsed till i was lv 70 and therefore 2g was unfathomable amount of gold to me haha. In fact even after 80 i ran some dungeons w/o traits and upgrading my armor lol. I dont ever wanna type /deaths on my ele.
I had a “faking my gear” i think for a fractal zerk run where they asked to ping my gear and i said i will in a sec since i was just cleaning my inventory. I then pinged a non transmuted cof gear, it really was not transmuted as i was in process of making twilight and wanted to transmute once i got the skins i wanted which would be after i made the legendary. So anyways they assumed i went to the merch or wiki and linked my gear
But as ive said in the past a lot of people are nice and okay to run with. I have had kitten elitists and seen them bash people who are not good enough according to them and then kick said players for sucking etc, heck i have been kicked at times for defending these players. Why i say kitten is because instead of helping the newb out they just bash. Also depending on what dungeon you run it might be a more relevant issue. Over 90% of this is seen in arah or i have seen it in arah runs mostly.
Well 1 thing your soldier’s gear is awesome for is Tequatel the sunless or other fights against things that are considered structures.
Ran CoE pug with a warrior, asked him he could drop banners and he told me he hates meta zerk builds and will not do banners since his DPS is just as good with his non meta build in knights armor. double face palm I tried to explain why banners are good regardless of his personal build but he was convinced his shouts were better, at least had FGJ i guess.
Since i just found this topic..this is my most funny anecdote from fractal. We were in urabn battlegrounds some lv 1-2 fractal. And this guy joined who had exclusively only done WvW. We get to the gate and they pull everything and sadly we wiped(trying to rez with oil ftw) so the second time we get to the gate and he pings a flame ram bluprint and says build on me! I lost it haha.
One of my goals as a dungeon pugger is to join as a 5th man of a non English speaking guild run and not be kicked. Anyone ever pulled this off?
Actually just ran the other day with spanish speaking guys, they told me in broken english they speak spanish but will try to understand what i have to say. Was CoE p1 so not a whole lot of communication required but we still got through nicely. I think its just some people are uber toxic. Ive had my fair share of those and if only i had realized before i can report them for that kind of behavior i just kind of assumed anet would do nothing about it. Like the arah run where me and 2 of my guildies started it, got covered in tar at shoggoroth, died, the other 2 thieves said one of their friends wanted to get in on it so they kicked me. Then my guildies left too..dint realize that we could report them for that.
Can also place those deployable mortars http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Deployable_Mortar_Kit
This should agro the initial guys so they can pop their grubs and act the same as dlonie’s stability situation for the second guy. At least that’s what I remember seeing a friend do when he was showing me how to do it.
Wow i love the forums to come across tricks like this, seriously thats genius. I will have to try out all these different ideas.
Yeah, i need to edit the post. She generally switches to thief for the last boss. Mesmer is for the rest of the dungeon. But sublimatio’s trick sounds cool. Also when we have run War+thief we were still not able to get it. We are running our max dps rotations for mot part i think. For warrior i do both banners, precision signet and signet for elite. 6//5/0/0/3.
For guard i do GS zerk 5/5/2/0/2 fire field, bane signet and save yourselves and try to make sure my aegis is up.
Will try ele, but i need to gear her up propely first and see how it goes.

Yesh got the asc trinkets and backpiece etc. But apart from mesmer trick, any other way? or any other combo. I just saw someone posting the 302k fire grab right before she transfers to p2 and that looked promising.
And yeah but just it sounds like such a hack haha.
(edited by GoD Obelisk.3057)
Oo the portal trick sounds like such a hack. Yeah i was gonna say she generally subs for thief on the last boss because helps with the run too. When she runs mesmer its all mantras with sword meele. But we will try the mesmer trick. We do the fire field and might blast etc too but just havent been able to get her down sadly. One thing i can think of is that we dont have ascended armor but that should not make that big of a difference right?
So ive been running arah with my S/O almost everyday now and we get to the lass boss pretty easy but then the problem hits. We can consistently get her down to say 15-20% hp but not beyond that yet. Any tips on this w/o having to kill all the adds? Also when we do try to kill the adds they just seem to keep spawning unless i am missing something obvious. We are def not masters as some of you we just like to play with each other. So we will generally get guildies or lfg for last boss.
Any help/tips would be nice though. Or is there a combo best suited for this. We generally run zerk guard + assassin/zerk thief and sub them for warrior/mesmer too. Elementalist i have not tried yet.
Then for solo too i imagine kills the mobs is the only option?

Sorry for all the typos, typing on phone.
First of all let me start by saying mystic coins are somewhat expendable, you can always buy them on tp. Secondly, to run dungeons for now get the best gear you possibly can that is masterwork or rare from tp. Rare because you can always salvage it once done for globs of ecroplasm and make moat of your money back. Now getting gear with karma is not a bad option either but if you plan on going for a legendary at some point you will need a lot of karma so you may wanna think about it. When I first hit 80 I did dungeons in greens. I would hold off on arah and maybe even coe till you are decked in somewhat decent armor. And another thing is depending on class there you might even wanna start out with a different stat than berserker since you will be learning still and berserker provides very little room for error. Sorrows Embrace or Ascalonian catacombs are easier dungeons so to speak and can provide you with stats left me knights and soldiers which might be good armor sets to learn your class in more depth. If you have more questions can always ping me in game.
PVE depending on what you want to do you can run a few different builds but this one works best for a party situation:
I am not too familiar with pvp build but mostly when i run my elementalist i tend to go tanky and maintain a point presence, can easily take on 2 v 1 situations even with tank ele. I would however just search youtube for a good pvp build.
Almost all pro teams run a thief to the best of my knowledge. Im not sure why you say they fall dead short. The class has its utility and very good spike damage.
Thief, exactly what you are looking for.
I generally enjoy the Timberline Falls events around that quaggan pirate island. Also in Timberline there is a bridge defense where losing it means the bridge is gone until the next cycle of events (a real pain if you haven’t yet got the WP on the far side).
Oldie but goodie: Escort Sister Brenda from the monastery in Queensdale to the swamp. She’s so silly.
In the starting section of Metrica, over to the east, there’s an ooze gone amuck where you have to kill it in between all its mini ooze spawnings. A lot of the Asura quests have a liberal dose of humor, so it can be fun to do those while listening to the NPCs chatter.
Thanks for the recommendations checking them out as we speak.
That’s in Gendarren Fields, I believe, not Queensdale.
I have an always will be a noob..sigh.
And that is not even the event chain i was thinking of, i was thinking of the QD chain that starts around CM. Time to go search for it.
You will find a lot of people like donari
My first thought was d’awwww — then I read more carefully
Yes, there are many such as myself that are happy to help new players in dungeons. You could craft your own LFG without waiting on others to be available, just put in “New player 1st run.” Or if that’s too long, “New plyr 1st run,” I guess.
Haha sorry dint mean to come off like that. Its def really nice of you to offer him runs and a lot of people dont do that. What i meant to say was there are people like you its just hard to find them, have to tailor the lfg nicely.
Unless I post specifically for exp 80 zerk etc I will take anyone and I can’t even count how many people I have led through arah and other dungeons. Believe it or not community is a lot nicer than you think. Just recently this one guy who had never done arah I took him through and then I log in the next day he had sent me a mini ho-ho tron as a gift. Sure it doesn’t happen often but it happens. And a lot of people I help have evolved into good players that I can run with on regular basis. Some became guildies too. I general ask at the beginning if someone doesn’t know the run and if they don’t I will explain the mechanics to them with as much detail as possible.
If you are having a problem on his fight you can always bring some extra Condi removal as a lot of time its the burn that messes people up rather than direct attacks from him, which have very obvious tells and can be dodged.
Anet has confirmed they are okay with selling and as others have mentioned it can be beneficial for the community. Just dont buy the runs and learn the dungeon, it can be hard and painful but i found it rewarding to do it myself when i was first starting.
Yes mostly. Things get tricky when you want certain skins and believe me you will want them to obtain a specific look etc. When you get to that point you will maybe want to do specific things.
You will find a lot of people like donari and when posting in lfg just say its your first time. I have taken countless people through first run as a guild leader and still do, just be honest about it and dont join groups like “exp 80”, “zerk”, “xyz ap+” etc just yet. Id give you an invite to my guild but we are tiny and that turns most people off. If its something you are okay with just let me know.
Another easy way to get berserker or any other exotic weapons is WvW. You will need to amass some badges of honor but they are quite easy to get if you run with a zerg. The WvW vendor will sell you weps etc for a price of 1g+some tokens(dont remember the exact number)
Do a guard, me and my S/O run that combo and its pretty good. We duo dungeons and such all the time. Warrior works well too(i have one) but in terms of support you are not going to provide her with much except your rez banner and other banners. Guard and mes on the other hand you can have perma reflects, nice perma swift buffs, her invis for you, the blinds and dazes both of you can pull off will make duoing a breeze. Those are just a couple of things i can think off of top of my head.
Will check it out. Thanks for the recommendation. Another fun one i just remembered is in queensdale where you have chain of events around nebo terrace. This is the meta event.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Assault_on_Ascalon_Settlement
So i have played the game too much. I think im just looking for a change of pace and i figured id ask you guys as to what are some of the best events you have come across. This is not for farming but in terms of content and chains etc. Like a map long chain or a nice story to go with the event. Some of the fine ones are temple events in orr, farmed them a lot though. So if you have any in mind, we could make a nice list to go experience this not so visited content.
