Interesting. It must be using a different protocol then. RDP uses the remote machine for rendering, so it’s lower bandwidth. Splashtop HD must be just sending a bitmap stream of your system’s display. Thanks for the update! I’ll have to try it myself on my Sony! (At the very least, you could do crafting runs…)
Except that the RDP protocol will not pass DirectX graphics. You get a blank window, if it will start up at all.
The only way to get DirectX graphics to show up on a remote session is to use something like Citrix or VMWare (PCoIP).
I haven’t received any emails from Arenanet regarding this issue. And I’ve received two emails now saying my account email address has been changed. This does not promote much confidence in the back-end security.

Gaile, why was the topic regarding “your email address has been changed by someone” merged with this one? They’re clearly different issues. This isn’t about email verification; it’s about (hopefully) spurious messages coming from Arenanet indicating that our accounts may be compromised.
I received one of those yesterday, and I just got another today. Got a useless message pointing me to the “account security” post from support when I entered a ticket regarding this.
Can we please get an official response regarding this?
And today, there are multiple events frozen, missing skill test NPCs, etc. Obviously, things are such that scripts get stuck if there isn’t a daily server reset.
When a character is talking, they tend not to move much. However, when they’re listening to another speaker, they’re as fidgety as a three-year old being scolded. Their arms swing (and clip into whatever handwear they’re wearing…) they look in all directions, etc. It’s incredibly distracting, and really diminishes the gravity of many scenes.
Please tone down the movement for the listeners! It looks rather silly.
Issue on Yak’s Bend; Guild: Defenders of Gods.
Activated a recently completed +10%/24 hour influence boost, and the upgrade shows a remaining time of 5:50. The 24 hours really only gives us 6.
