Don’t know your primary play time but you may have some interesting choices depending on what you are seeking.

If only interested in PvE recommend simply picking whichever region (NA vs EU) is best aligned with your play time.

However if also interested in WvW you have an interesting choice: Pick same region if you want more players. Or pick the other region if you want to be more valuable with the potential to make a much bigger impact. Your choice.

Yes and, since you are relatively new, can xfer servers for free (i.e. without paying gems) by deleting your characters. Your account bank, wallet, wardrobe, achievements, etc. – all things not specific to a character – will remain. Leveling is relatively easy and the game really begins with your first level 80 character.

Our guild has several new and retuning players who recently xferred to join us.

Of those three I recommend FA, even though their matchups may become stale at the top of Tier 2. NSP is also a good community but is mired in outmatched Tier 3 as a permanent punching bag – I’m surprised no one has mentioned this to you. I have no idea why considering HoD; as a known bandwagon server that rises and falls on population, the server epitomizes surges on the weekend then dies off during the week. I would recommend almost any other server in Tier 4 or 5.

My perspective is from having fought these servers. Good luck.

For your WvW needs, I recommend Stormbluff Isle server.

Every server can point to its characteristics; for SBI is known for its strong militia and is the historical home for Korean players during OCX. Although a strong pugmander environment, there are also guilds organized for GvG, zerg busting, roaming and other flavors.

Currently poised at the top of Tier 4, we fight at the ideal ranking for varied and balanced matches each week versus five other relatively competitive servers. Outside our tiers, matches are often against the same old opponents, completely lopsided blowouts, massive queues and blobs or, conversely, sparsely populated.

SBI is a stable server with an active community TeamSpeak so you and your friends can come here to stay and make a home.

Really, predicting the effect of Seasons on server populations is like trying to predict the Stock Market – a futile endeavor where your guess is as bad as mine.

If history is any guide, last Season’s bandwagoning completely upended what had been the most balanced, varied, and enjoyable fights amongs six relatively competitive servers in T3 and T4 – at one point only 40 glicko points separated the spread from top and bottom servers. In fact, last Season and its aftermath arguably precipitated the current fiasco in T3.

Until the underlying WvW mechanics that reward bandwagoning and coverage are addressed, all these non-systematic “solutions” simply rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic.

For WvW, I recommend Stormbluff Isle server. Currently poised at the top of Tier 4-5, we fight at the ideal ranking for varied and balanced matches each week versus five other relatively competitive servers.
