Another victim of a disconnect. Think I’ll take that as a hint to get some sleep, maybe.
Pretty impressed with how quickly SBI got those catapults up north of LV. It was like, blam! 3 cats and a ballista in yo face!. We’ll definitely need to keep eyes at our towers.
Choo, if you guys are going to spend so much time running back into our garrison, at least wipe your feet. It’s muddy out there.

I’d like to make this dedication to Blackgate. Miss you already.

Run around Orr on my 80s, gathering mats and killing as I go for drops. Do some hearts/events on whichever leveling alt I’m into at the time. Or run around in WvW doing various WvW stuff. Sometimes I’m supporting the zerg, sometimes I’m spawning clones and throwing two-handed swords, sometimes I’m running supply, sometimes I’m escorting yaks, etc.
I don’t like doing dungeons. I might if I had a dedicated group to do them with, but pugging them is more trouble than it’s worth. I haven’t set foot in the fractals.
I do the dragon events if I’m in the zone when they spawn but I don’t watch the timers and plan for them or anything like that.
The game isn’t supposed to be a career, it’s just a casual time waster you can fire up and see some pretty scenery while you’re at it.

My Warrior and Thief. Thief wearing tier 1 cultural of course, and I’d love to dress the Warrior up in tier 3 but I’m terrible at saving gold.

@TC people last night in their homeland. Taking your hoard on a tour of your borderland last night was some of the most fun I have had in a long time. Hope you enjoyed the trip around the map.
Who would have thought they would follow a 10 man with their 45+ from Longview up to the north camp, back around to the west camp, back up to longview while a group of 15 takes an upgraded garrison?
Our performance the past two weeks has been horrendous. People are acting like they just installed the game. A lot of our regulars are absent (holidays, mid-semester break, whatever the reason).
Few hours ago people were actually telling others NOT to buy some of the upgrades at TCGarrison. Their reasoning was that it either wouldn’t get done before BG got there or we wouldn’t have a steady flow of supply to get it done. Then we sieged Hills to the point that you couldn’t walk without tripping over an arrow cart while leaving Bay empty and made out of popsicle sticks.
Both Bay and Hills were lost, and TCG just flipped after someone purchased an upgrade so that the supply would be drained while it was under siege (one of those upgrades someone told people not to purchase earlier). A tactic we have seen since the game came out and yet people still stand there with their mouths hanging open wondering what happened. “Who did that?” “Who dere? Who dat?”
Blackgate’s movements on the map and tactics for taking each location have become so predictable it’s like a train schedule at this point. And we’ve failed repeatedly to anticipate and prepare for any of it and then act surprised as it’s happening.
Upgrades and supplies need to be managed. Keep getting caught with our pants down (insert obligatory ERP joke).

fat norn mesmer
I’m in love.
I have a male Norn Warrior and a female Norn Thief. My Guardian is a Human.
The last two professions I had left to roll were Engineer and Thief, I debated long and hard but eventually settled on an Asura Engineer and the Norn Thief even though I had in the back of my mind the fact that female Norn Engineers are this game’s female Dwarf Rogue.

I have a tendency to slip up from time to time and use some colorful language (usually in WvW) so any punishment for doing so would hit me in my special place. Please don’t hit me in my special place.
I can only imagine how funny some of my comments look when filtered. Someone get some milk, that’s a lot of kittens.

It was like 3 vs. 30 at Longview. I wouldn’t pat yourselves on the back too hard. We destroyed so much of the siege you were dropping there I started to feel guilty.
Least you coulda done was leave us Cliffside out of respect. I built a shame ram in the Lord’s Room to show you we meant business but it went poof before you finally got there.

Happy holidays everyone.
Should pick an open area away from any objectives in EB for some cease-fire dancing tonight.

Not sure what’s causing the price spike but as someone who still hunts Mithril nodes in Orr I am certainly enjoying it.
I thought it was going to be a Sunday night thing and wouldn’t go higher than 70c, then Monday rolled around and people were listing it at 84c at one point. Makes up for that time I thought I’d get in on the Platinum trade only to see prices plummet on Platinum ore.
Yes, keep sitting in LA running Fractals. There’s nothing to see here. Move along.

Dungeons: They just end up frustrating more than anything else. It makes me feel like the combat mechanics are from one game and the environment and encounters are from another. This is where the removal of the trinity group roles looks better on paper than in practice. If the majority of players are having fun with their glass cannons and there’s no dedicated tanks or healers, then the mobs in dungeons should not be hitting that hard. Period. They should be hitting that hard in games where there are people spamming heals on party members, not here in this game where that isn’t an option.
Guilds: The problem with guilds right now isn’t even with the game itself. It’s the community. Guild recruiters are posting their ads in chat claiming one thing but, when you join, you find out it is yet another guild where no one interacts and over half of the members aren’t even representing the guild.

I had totally forgotten it was Friday reset yesterday. I sat around in LA while queue’d up and thought something was wrong cause it was taking so long to get in EB.
They said we were crazy for building our castle in a swamp.

I made it past 30 on my Engineer before seeing a dye drop on that character.
I was enjoying the increased drop rate that they “fixed.” I like collecting the colors on various characters. I have never sold an Unidentified Dye that I can remember. I must know what color it is, I must I must.

Guardian (80): 276 deaths, 400 hours
Mesmer (80): 259 deaths, 272 hours
Warrior (80): 114 deaths, 120 hours
I spend a lot of time in WvW on the Guardian and Mesmer and I am a tad reckless in there.

Battle for Valley Keep is so epic I have to take a turkey sandwich break.
Great way to finish out this week.

I guess all servers have some players who have tunnel vision when it comes to SM, it’s just frustrating. We have some who zone in and immediately start trying to get an attack on SM going if we don’t currently hold it, without taking the time to assess the situation and help secure our third of the map. And they are almost completely unresponsive to anything said that goes against their SM focus.
I got abandoned and left for dead twice yesterday. Both times I had people with me who disappeared as soon as red names showed up. One was a 3 vs. 3 situation that turned into 3 vs. me. Right outside one of our towers. People will fight in front of SM for hours but try getting them to help protect a Dolyak heading for SM. Yeah, good luck with that.

Enjoy it while it lasts, FA on EB. The Golem attack on the watergate went unnoticed too long for us to thwart it. But your biggest mistake was taking Golanta. Now you got an Asura Mesmer gunning for you. I’m out there…somewhere…hunting.
GOLANTA!!!
:D

Was in EB for hours today. Brutal combat.
CD got inside the outer Lowlands keep, pounded Aldon’s with treb after treb, and turned Rogue’s into a makeshift fortress.
I was trebbing the wall of a siezed WC from Lowlands until you turkeys broke my treb, and me. I was on my Asura Mesmer, screaming as I ran into your ranks breaking your fists with my face.
I told my fellow Coasties that the siege of Aldon’s looked like a scene from the battle of Stalingrad.

Got pressed hard in EB early morning today by YB. Trebbing Aldon’s from Rogue’s, trebbing Lowland keep from Pig Hill, etc. Then they seemed to get distracted by CD waking up and trying to take back their keep. CD got the momentum after that and siezed SM while we (TC) were trying to break in at the same time.
Then it kinda switched from there, CD trebbing from Rogue’s, SM, etc.
Was fun.

Watch out for those risen Acolytes, they’ll see you coming from a mile away.
You think you are out of aggro range and heading through a relatively clear spot and then…“what the heck is hitting me? Oh.”
I feel like Scooby and Shaggy going through Orr. “Scoob, let’s get out of here!”

For those of you who use Voice Chat during dungeon runs, can you provide some examples of how it helps exactly?
I’m familiar with using voice chat in games and I know where it comes in handy in others, but I just can’t picture how it would help that much in a GW2 dungeon. It’s not like you can call out that something is about to use a nasty ability, it’s too late they’ve already used it before you could begin to call out. Are you just calling out which mob to hit next?
I mean it’s not like the “tank” is calling out for focused heals during a burst phase or something. Not that kind of game.
I’m curious as to how voice communication helps here.

The SM upgrade was painful but I think we were going to lose it regardless of how much supply we had. CD was pushing their advantage at that time of day and had most of the map anyway. People were split between defending Aldon’s and defending SM. CD had enough people leaning on both targets to make defense necessary at both targets.
Tonight, after the patch, CD took and held Greenlake in TC BL like it was their grandmother’s house. Wouldn’t even let us put lawn furniture out or nothing. So mean. We couldn’t seem to get our numbers back up after the reset, possibly from issues people had logging back in.

I experience a disconnect within 30 minutes of being in the Dredgehaunt Cliffs zone. Have a few small lag spikes and then everything freezes up and I get sent to the character select screen.
Does not seem to be happening in any other zones for me so far.
Strange that most of the reports are that it happens in specific places for people. Perhaps there’s a common denominator shared by all of the locations that it is happening in?

I couldn’t get to the chest. MK teleported back to the middle section after we had him down to the bottom. After we finished him off we went to check and see if something spawned on the bottom level and I could see the chest but before getting down there I was automatically zoned out with the rest of the group.

Tarnished Coast pre-Halloween patch party line dancing. We lined up by race and synced up. Danced for hours waiting for the patch, joking around and having fun.

Having other people in there with you is part of the challenge and part of the fun.
As you continually run the pattern you are committing the route to memory and it gets to the point where you can almost do it blind-folded.
Speed boosts are more of a hindrance than a help. The times someone fired off a speed boon in there it usually got a bunch of us to overshoot a jump and then grumble about it.
Everyone should strip their characters down for A ) Visibility, B ) take away any weapon speed boon abilities, and C ) because naked is the only way to roll.
I got to the Clock Face three times before successfully getting in there on the third clock face attempt. That was 1000x more frustrating than being in there with other people and I was alone when I made those jumps.

Yeah, pretty low point for some FA players on FA BL. I saw GODS members and someone from SOHK I think it was taking part in the WH Cata breach.
That’s fine. Exploits will only get you so far. You can’t hold it. Just a shame you resort to that.

It should be a brutal slugfest all week. When they show the highlight reel it’ll have some of that NFL Films music playing in the background.

You can’t dodge roll away from the wife, you’ll run out of endurance long before she does and she has CC.
Dodge Roll when the person you are talking to starts telling you about this foolproof way to make some money but they need an initial investment.
Dodge Roll when that Starbucks barista with the long blonde hair and nice figure turns out to be a dude.
Dodge Roll when you get caught eating cookies that were baked for someone else.

I was there for the “Resistance at QL” prior to “the Langor Party.” I switched to our TC Borderlands after a break between those. I have to mix it up these days.
We got caught with our pants down at TCG in the Borderlands. Went from “they’re attacking the gate” to “they’re inside!” before our zerg could take a step. We took a last stand at Dawn’s Eyrie and eventually lost that too. Then we regrouped, BG seemed to go to sleep or head to Eternal Battleground, and we retook TCG and managed to take AH before they came and took AH back. Took Greenbriar at one point too but that didn’t go over well. I was running out the back door (falling off the wall) as the gate was disintegrating.
I apologize to whoever I knocked off that cliff outside Dawn’s Eyrie during the BG siege. My Guardian shield #5 didn’t do it, but my Downed #2 did cause your death from fall damage revived me. Your teammates avenged you.
