Got a DC too and was also their. I am totally angry. The guy who already found 8 Precursors in my guild got one and me (who played nearly 700h) did not even get a loot from this crappy and anyoing event. Sorry but after the Ranger balance patch the next big dissapointment.

Totally agree. Devs are sitting in this thread and posting their screens while two threads below more thann 350 people are angry because disconnects and login server issues.

There are to rules for Zephir Finishing:
1) Zephir must be activated before start finishing the opponent
2) You have to be infight if you want to use Pet swap finishing
Zephir Stomping due to Pet switch is working. Tested it already.
Sorry but they are right this build is max. mediocre.
Protect me + two birds? Are you serious? Thats probably the worst combination.
Longbow without Zephir? Also not a good choice.
Signet of the Hunt…Also not very useful.
Using Warhorn infight? Also not the best choice…
Going a power based build actually without trading in power. Hmmm sounds not very useful for me.
In the end your survivability is the worse compared to any other bunker class and your damage output is from what I see not very high.
The only useful signet to me is Signet of Stone…Maybe cd could be a little bit reduced (90sec) but its already very powerful.
Some good thinks about your build: 15 points in survival is a very good point. The protection when dodge is a very powerful buff.
But I would put maximum 15 points into beastmastery. Everything more is just waste of skill points.
I was thinking about reroll but then in the end Arenanet would still get my money. They dissappointed me ones and they will do it again. So I will most probably quit until my preferred class is fixed. That is the only way for myself to keep up hopes that our issues will be addressed in future.

Next patch day will come in 4 weeks and i am tired of been waiting for becoming usefull.

AHA John. Sorry but you deeply failed. You had enough time (2 month). You said rangers need most attention. And nearly every class got more attention than us? HELL underwaterfights are not part of pvp…And i am only complaining of my role in tpvp.
Yeah buff elementalist in necros, which are, in skilled hands, are more than overpowered. Then increase the range of magnet from engineer by 200%. So that you cannot evade because you have your creepy 10% speed buff.
Sorry but you need seriously help…help from the community. Make test servers were everyone can test the new builds 2 weeks before patch day…Your son/family is not a good tester for serious tpvp attempts.
Waiting addition 4 weeks for next patch? How long shall i wait until I see “Hey we need a ranger for our tpvp , r20+ /w me” and not need “Elementalist, Necromancer, Engineer, Bunker-Guardian, Thief, ….”

Half of these stupid improvements are for underwater fights and does not change anything with the role of ranger in PVP! I am more than dissapointed….

That angry bird build makes me wanna laugh. Everytime he nearly uses all of his cooldowns. With that also my Lnyx is doing up to 4k damage sometimes and I am not damage skilled. He played always against newbies. If they would know that the pet is making most of the damage and can be killed very easily in 2-3 hits they would have won nearly all fights.
In addition the video shows me how useless the sword is.
Also the build gives no support to teammates for tpvp…just another hot-join “yeah my ranger makes damage” build. But Cooldowns beyond 60 sec are not useful to me.
We do have a stun breaker, it’s lighting reflex, slot skill. The 6 sec invulnerably is also a skill slot, 3 points I think. The group heal removes conditions.
And who expects their pet to be able to tank a Dungeon Boss, lol? 1st mmo?
You are right with lightning reflexes but you are wrong with the 6 sec invuln. . This skill costs 30 points into Marksmanship(+power). So if you want to stay longer and beeing able to survive burst damage from a thief / Warrior you have to skill up your attack power. ^^Haha very funny -.- . Also this Skill has a cooldown for 120 Seconds.
And Pets are not able to survive any single dungeon boss. In PvE i work with 2 bears and for example in twighlight garden first bossfight they survive maybe 4 – 6 seconds. But anyhow to be a meele in PVE in this game is horrible ^^.
Alot of my friends expected serious boss tactics. In the end its all about getting one shot or not (Best example: arah 1 shot NPCs)

Yeah especially when you consider that their were no fixes on last patch. I really think after the patch they recognised : “Hell ranger community is going enraged, we have to do something against this”. 2 days later they sent Jon Peters to give a statement. Stave us off with the reason that changes would have been “game breaking”. 3 Days later he fixed 2 bugs on one day. And 2 weeks later there are just 16 fixes on ranger class and 30 for engineers?
Jon seems to work on his own…srsly.
First of all:
-I hate the fact that Pets are 2/3 of our damage and we cannot control them…Hell even a simple “stay” gestures have to be traited. WTF?! In addition they cannot hit and move at one time.
- Sigils and general utility skill traits have too long cooldowns. Mesmers complaining if they have a CD of 60 sec on their portal. We have 60+ sec. and even 120 are common for us.
- Interrupting the resurrection of enemies is a pain for me. We have to use 2h weapons to interrupt somebody. Due to the fact that only viable build I found is based on axe/xx combo I am no help for a team because I am also a worse roamer compared to thiefs, warriors etc.
- Spamming “1” on Shortbow…the whole bow have to be rebuild. How I handle with the shortbow you ask?: “Zephir, 1,1,1,1,2,4,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2,4,…” Uh yeah sometimes also 3 or 5. Also that we only cast condition damage while flanking is not the best idea, simply because it never works in spvp when you akittengeted. And then you have to rely on the stupid low damage outpet and your useless pet which is just chasing after the enemy but not attacking him.
- Down mode is also broken. It happened so often that I am in a downed fight: Call my Pet to rezz me (3) but it does not! Also our second skill is nearly subpar to other profession (except guardians but they have also to deal with total useless elite skills). Engenieers and Warriors can be rezzed easily due to their elixier or “3” skill (warrior). Mesmers, Thiefs can teleport in which case also stability stomping will not help. Elementalist can defend a point even in downed state because of their “cloud”-skill. We have a interrupt skill which can be easily be leveraged. And our pet heal is not reliable and except for underwater fights (I hate Capricorn) also useless. Man a warrior can finish you in an instant and when he goes down and you are not fast enough he stands up finish you and stays alive?! WTF! In addition he makes 10 times more ranged damaged than, oh how is that class called?!, Yes RANGERS.
- Entangle would be a powerfull elite for condition rangers but it is completlely broken. I mean its useless against Mesmers and Thiefs because they can teleport. And if the opponent uses stability the roots do not even attack him. And then I have used a 120 sec cd skill for nothing. So in the end I HAVE to use “Rampage as one” just for stability and more pet damage (oh wait haha).
And there would be much more to do… even with fixes on utility skills you could spend 16 points of fixing.
I mean general damage of short distance weapons is a mess. I use the same armor like a thief (but a little bit more HP), so for a glass canon 7-11k damage in1-2 hits is not a problem. So their is a risk when I go in a 1 on 1 with a warrior or thief. Due to that I want either more life to sustain more than 3-4 hits from a rouge/warrior or more damage. How it is for now this is simply not possible and so I am limited to medium/long-range condition damage builds.
In BWE no one could play his class well and they complained about gs damage of the ranger because they were bumped blined into fights. 2 big nerfs came…Now we have some really capable players and I think increasing damage of the gs and also the sword is mandatory.
I mean the damage of the condition damage builds is good. No changes are needed but I feel very limited to my build. I tried a burst damage build but its not even close to the cd one :-/. Also I am not support for my group. I am not better in roaming than thiefes, mesmers, warriors etc. (why the heck has the ranger only 1 speed buff? And a 10% on a sigil? Has ever anyone noticed these 10%? Even swapping to gs pressing 3 and going back to my general axe/torch combo is more useful to me). We are not better node defenders compared to guardians, necros or engis. And also in damage or support we are just subpar compared to other classes. We die easily, cannot stability stomp (oh yeah the elite makes it possible) or stealth rezz and in PVE our pet always do some stupid stuff because we cannot put it into the bag while in combat.

Hope that i am wrong with the upcoming patch but I have the feeling that 16 bullets are way not enough to fix this class.
