In SW my FPS dips a bit, not too much though. The Black Citadel is pretty bad too… The dredge smoke effects don’t really hurt much, unless they’re right infront of my camera… Why would a simple smoke effect have such a effect on FPS anyway?
Well, since it’s a ‘pre-purchase’ you’re purchasing things in advance. Meaning you’ll get your characters slot when HoT comes out. Well I think that’s what would happen, anyway.
It makes no sound because it’s hidden, silly!
But really though, I doubt they’d change this. Nobody really is meant to be using racial skills, they’re supposed to be under-tuned so no-one picks their race based on them.
Smoke effect? Do you mean like, smoke bomb? If so, I’ve never had problems with that. Usually grenades do my FPS in…
My computer isn’t the best. It’s a laptop. It runs the game at 30 FPS pretty consistently. But I’m wondering will I be running around Verdant Brink with like 15 FPS? Considering how big the maps are, do they have a huge effect on performance?
Just a little concerned . Any help with this would be great!

Well, at the moment, Sinister would be the most efficient option. This is mainly because it offers power, for big hits on things like Pistol #2 and the Mortar skills, the precision to proc things like incendiary powder, and the condition damage for… well… for the condition damage. Notice it’s all offensive stats.
But with raids coming soon (in HoT), sinister might not be the best option, since they’re gonna be a lot harder than the current dungeon/fractals. I have a rabid/dire mix set that I can use for the occasional Silverwastes run, but that I can also use for things like WvW, where protective stats are a must.
If you want to get a Sinister set, start off with a Rampager set, since the Sinister insignias are pretty heavily time-gated.

Huh, well this is interesting…
I tried replicating this and it does indeed give 3 might stacks every time without fail, apart from when the ‘listed boon’ it’s granting is might. My guess it’s just the tooltip’s a bit wrong, they have to update them pretty often.
EDIT: Wait nope, scratch that. Like you say, when HGH is off, the spooky ghost-might doesn’t turn up. Spooky stuff. I dunno, man.

Charr cultral tier 3 hammer is pretty nice… http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Adamant_Guard_Hammer_
Oooh, I know this! Tomes of Knowledge give 100% experience of your current level, and your next level needs a bit more exp to fill up the bar.
So if you need 1000XP to fill up level 10, but to fill up level 11 you need 1050XP, and you’re on 500XP in level 10. So you use a Tome, but rather than being on 500XP in level 11, you’re on 500XP but the limit is bigger so it looks less.
That was alot of explaining, I hope you get this lol. :P

I’d like to think that the lil’ drone things act like ele scepter 2 in earth, where they just sorta hover about and give you little bonuses until you activate them. ‘Fuel’ could just be how long they last? Please no AI
Ahah, wow. This would definitely be more interesting, if not ridiculously overpowered
if u don’t have screenshots get out of the screenshot thread like omg
This is a nice idea, and very well thought out. Especially with the traits and the stat scaling. I could totally see this in the game. But how would is display if say, an player in WvW saw an enemy with some barrier going on? Would the end of their health bar be a bit blue?
Eh, actually had a look at the not-so-funky green glider. It isn’t all that good lookin’ :/
Do you have to buy deluxe to get it, or will it turn up in the gem store?
Ah alright. I wasn’t actually recommending this to anyone cause jeez pressing ‘F’ all day sounds boring. I don’t wanna condone any violations or anything :P
I was wondering this a while back, but I didn’t really do any testing…
Would it be possible to 1-80 a character solely by resurrecting, since you get xp from ressing? Like, one person could kill themselves in a lava pool while 5 others power ress and get the exp? Or is there diminishing returns?
Bare in mind, if you have high-ish ping, there’s a time between when you press the button to teleport and when you actually teleport. In this time you’re still walking forwards meaning you never actually go the full 1.2k range…
Pretty sure the setting reset thing happens whenever a loading screen pops up
Plasma is too strong as it is! They said they’re gonna change the stuff you get from steal anyway, I think. I’m not sure where I heard that but I heard it somewhere…
Oops, there’s another thread on this, my bad :O
When I log into a character or change map, the settings always make my game go back to ‘native’, which makes my fps go waaaay down. Tried running the repair client and it didn’t do anything. Any help would be great
Also I’m still having trouble with the lil’ rotating character things making my fps basically die.
Bump~. Still a problem, nothing I’ve done so far has solved it.
So basically I decided to have a fiddle around with my GW2 client to try and install some funky new shaders I just heard about (reshade), and I couldn’t quite manage to do it.
So, to make the game go back to normal, I copied the GW2.exe and the GW2.dat into a different folder, ran the game and it made the bin and all those other weird files which make the game work. So I run the client and the login screen comes on and I boot it all up, select a character, but notice a horrible input lag to basically everything. Especially when you go into the hero panel and rotate your character; it’s very choppy/unresponsive in comparison to everything else.
So I was wondering what I could do to prevent this? And just to clarify, I’m running the client as administrator (because I can’t figure out how to not run as admin), and I’m pretty certain this has nothing to do the internet. My ping in-game is completely fine, and as far as I know ping doesn’t effect UI.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Edit: When rotating my character in the hero panel, my fps drops by around 5 frames. Also, the input lag only happens periodically, for a while I might be fine and the UI doesn’t lag whatsoever, but occasionally it’ll lag. I don’t really see anything causing this because going elsewhere doesn’t make a difference.

Hey man, I’ve actually played on all the EU servers listed here and I eventually settled on GH, we have a really strong prime but we lack off peak witch results in us getting beat on PPT by the Germans that surround us, but it also means there’s always some great roaming to be had no matter what the time! (I only ever roam) I’m actually in a small Zerg busting guild that would be more then welcome to have you if you come over to GH, if that isn’t your thing there’s some great community guilds (namely kiss) or raiding guilds or even GvG we have a great mixture of guilds, I think what kept me around was the great community on the server and the fact that they are always looking for fights and not just PPT (sorry for the clunkiness on my phone)
Yeah, I think I’m gonna see how Aurora Glade is first, then I might check over at GH. Do you have like, a community forum or anything?
Oooh, yes, great! They all seem pretty nice! Thank you!
NA and EU are not that different, only the peak hours on NA are more spreads out while in EU it tends to go suddenly quiet on the maps. Any silver league server are fine, watch out for servers dedicated to certain languages.
Also, I get 150-200 ping from EU to NA vs 40-50 in EU wvw, might not be same for you but it could affect your gameplay, especially if you roam a lot.
NA and EU are massively different in play styles.
I tend to equate it like this: In NA, WvW is like having a second job. In EU, you log in a few hours, you get drunk with your guild, then you log off to join your family for dinner. Absolutely there are some elements of NA-job style in the top three servers, but even those guys are more casual than NA about it.
NA tends to be about the ppt. EU tends to be about the fights. Although you are going to get both that kind of style from different players on both sides of the pond, particularly at the upper levels — not so much rank 5 and below.
As for ping, I live EST and find that my ping is better in EU than it is on my NA account. I have no idea why.
Haha yeah, I did hear that EU is really different… sounds like fun! AR never really had the coverage to really get any good PPT going, especially with 40+ blobs at not-peak times and loads of night-capping. So we started not to really care all that much about it and aim for fights and not slipping into T8… And I’ve heard that EU have all different meta builds and tactics?
Alright that sounds great! Thanks for the help. Are any guilds in those servers that I could join? Like, I don’t wanna turn up and be a huge loner, y’know?
I’m usually on about any time between 17:00 – 00:00 GMT+1.
And do you know when they’re putting these new algorithms in place?
Yeah, I kinda wanna spend as least gems as possible, really.
Also what did you mean about the server capping thing?
So basically I’m on Anvil Rock at the moment, which is an NA server, but I live in a timezone which means I have to get up at a disgusting hour to actually get any enjoyment out of the game type. Basically what I’m asking is which EU server to hop onto… I mainly do roaming and small skirmish stuff. I’ve heard that EU is a load more different from NA, and any advice or anything I would appreciate!
Are there guilds I can join? The LFG tool is pretty lame, considering I’m only level 3 in FotM…
New maps
New smaller maps
New bigger maps
New modes for those maps (no ppt for smaller map, or only one tower to capture in the mid)
AoE limit removal, like they are doing for ESO
They couldn’t remove the AOE 5-target limit. Their servers wouldn’t cope with it.
The sad fact is, this probably wouldn’t be classified as a bug since you are, by legitimate means, gaining a level. The whole get-max-health-on-level-up thing really shouldn’t be in the game.
