Alright thanks for filling me in. Is there anything else I can do to up the performance?

To start off, I am not at all tech-savvy. I’m not even sure what an SSD is, but I’ve heard it can improve performance. Amazon sells them for about £40 or so and if they can bump up my FPS by 15 or so I’m willing to pay. Sorry to sound so demanding but I’m gonna have to rattle off a bunch of questions:

— Can you use an SSD in a laptop?
— How do they work?
— By how much will it increase FPS (if any)?
— Will it decrease loading times?
— How difficult will it be to pull off?

Earth Shield + Lightning Hammer + Lightning Rod burst shenanigans.
Usual burst rotation revolves around using Focus 5, into lightning hammer, LH 5 into LH3, 3 procs of lightning hammer for… well mediocre, but very fancy burst.

Clipping’s just kinda a thing that happens. Just be glad you’re not Charr or Asura, where your own anatomy clips through 75% of armours. My only advice to is dye everything to black to make it less noticeable, but I’m not really that helpful…

I’m on about those lil’ things you get from bloodstone fen events. They cost around 8s or so at the moment. Is it better to sell them or salvage ’em?

There’s also the Row of Candles decoration which may help you cut down on the number of decorations, but increase the size of your fire-wielding legion.

Protection + Food = 50% damage reduction, which is huge! Glass thief backstab is about 4k, which you can heal with a quick trip to water attune. It’s not as effective as it used to be, but I use it alot and it has very good 1v1 potential, and it’s great for outnumbered fights. Plenty of escape mechanisms.

Some things can be swapped out as and when needed. FGS > Rebound for duels, Signet > Ether Renewal incase there’s lots of condi’s about. Bloodlust > Cleansing incase condi builds are too effective against you.

Overall it’s pretty good stuff. If you have the gear I’d recommend trying it.

Edit: Food requires you to have 100 crystalline ore, which is from Dragon’s Stand noxious pods. May take you a while to get.

Turns out that even “a few candles” have a lot of animations associated with them, so they might actually be more problematic than the trees. If I recall correctly, some of the limits are “hard coded” — it’s apparently easier to limit the total number and the number in close proximity to each other, rather than have the game try to distinguish which decorations are ok to add and which are not.

Eh, that’s fair enough. I’m just gonna decrease the trees and increase the candles, to initiate the wax-pocolypse. I was just hoping there was some way to work around it.

Is there a reason I can’t have like, 4 candles on a tables, with some trees around it without this happening? I mean, the only explanation is that it causes lag or something, but it doesn’t, it’s only a few candles…

With that gear, you could possibly go with boon duration, protection uptime d/f ele. You’ll have to make a few changes though, probably soldiers trinkets.

The way to go with ele roaming is Sc/F, maurader’s armour, zerkers/soldiers trinkets, or something along those lines. A decent health pool, and a lot of damage mitigation (mist, arcane shield, obsidian flesh) and lots of projectile hate (swirling winds, earth 4 on focus). Pack runes for fury uptime.

Well I used to be torn between playing all the scholar classes, because they were all really interesting and fairly unique. I liked it. But I wanted to focus on one character, meaning one class, so I mained ele, and have been maining it for 2 years now.

I think all you need to do is just keep experimenting with classes. You could try mesmer, but it’s not much like Rev or Warr. Though it does get GS-S/S.

If you can’t figure it out, you could try playing 2 characters? It’s up to you.

Also remember to take into account the time spent gaining all of the account bound mats and completing the collections when deciding if you were to craft the precursors. IMO, a savings of 100G isn’t worth it compared to the time spent.

Well there’s not really much else I can do in game currently. I’ve exhausted most of the content. So having something to do is nice. Plus, the collections are pretty fun!

So I was farming events in Auric Basin, and in the squad I bought up that I was crafting the Legend precursor. Then someone said that I’d be better off just buying off the TP.

Is this true? Currently the Legend off the TP is 1280g, which is a lot. I’m pretty sure crafting is cheaper, but is anyone sure? Because all this time gating is really annoying :P

It managed to fix itself later on. It’s fine now. Got the chest and everything!

I managed to make some time-gated string (or something, I forgot), and it said I could make another in 40 minutes. So I come back to it after about 50 mins and it said I’d already crafted it and I had to wait another 23 hours? Also didn’t get a daily reward chest.

Spooky stuff. Did someone break the game? :O

If you’re not sure hold onto it until you find a dye you really want and cannot imagine being able to afford (or wouldn’t be willing to pay for).

I think I might do that, there’s so many! The super expensive ones are so nice too. I’d best wait.

I decided to use my 80-booster whatsitcalled thing, and it hit me up with a bunch of stuff including this dye pack.

My problem is, there are SO MANY to choose from! Anyone got any suggestions? I’m not really too interested in getting the abyss/celestial skins either. Which ones the nicest?

Basically, whenever 15+ zergs hit eachother, my game just goes into full-on lag mode. Everyone starts running into walls, skills don’t work, I won’t take fall dmg etc.. then eventually I’ll just DC.

I mean my internet isn’t the best, but is there anything I can do not to disconnect all the time? Thanks! <3

There’s actually an in-game pride parade happening really soon! For NA, it’s on the 26th at 8PM EDT, and for EU its on the 26th also but at 6PM CEST. It’ll be starting in Ebonhawke. There’s more information on reddit, if anyone’s interested!

Yeah with about 15kb of bandwidth. Updates were a nightmare, I actually took my pc to a friends to get that done. Definitely doable but not really recommended!

I played through my phone for a while, I was able to do dailies and harvest nodes, anything instanced or zerg-related is probably going to end in failure.

They’re gonna nerf all projectiles to be coloured pixels, auras are just gonna be pixely circles, meteor shower’s just gonna be more kitten pixels, players are just moving pixels, it’s all gonna be pixels

Literally the only instances where minimal skills effects COULD be required are raids and PvP. Not everyone does these things.

…so I thought I might as well have a go.

So I wonder up into EB, pretty hopeful since there’s a purple tag on the map. I run over to the side of SM where the tag is and I stop to admire the fight. But I noticed people were oddly still… and about 20 or so second after I notice this has happened everyone starts teleporting about all freaky like and I’m instadead all the way from 100% to full dead in like a second.

And for a while, I’ve been trying to sort it out (mainly through waiting…), but to avail. Bit of a shame, really, and I still need some help. Any indication of what this issue may be would be super helpful, since I really used to like wvw! <3

(also, if you’re wondering why this isn’t in the bug section, I’ve put posts similar to this in there and they have no replies whatsoever, dunno whether no one goes to that forum anymore…)

Edit: Also, it’s only when big groups of people from different sides are actually fighting eachother. Running around taking objectives with my zerg is fine.

There are a few ways you can get around how buggy and terrible it is… When using non-targeted skills, the SD will always go in the direction your camera is facing. So you can toggle on action camera mode and sorta point your cross-hair at mobs or w/e.

But still, it really needs fixing. Like, really.

The whole idea with the bladed set is that most of it is super easy to get, apart from the chestpiece. As far as I know, you need a map’s meta to get to T4 and you need a decently high participation percent to have a better chance of getting it. Pretty sure 200% is a definite chance.

As far as I know, holding down the jump button makes you glider come out as soon as it can. So if you’re holding down jump that might be the problem.

Where can I actually get ‘em? I wanna like put down like chairs and stuff and sit on ’em. Apparently you’re meant to do them with scribing but I don’t have a clue how to scribe…

Also, can you actually get just solid copies of the expansion? As in like, they come in a box?

Currently, I’m considering buying the expansion from DLGamer which is an official retailer of NCSoft (or something like that). But what actually happens when you send them your money? Do they e-mail you a code or what? I’m not very savvy when it comes to things like this, lol.

Would the price of HoT get any cheaper once it’s no longer pre-purchase when HoT drops? Cause it’s a bit pricey…

So when I go to open the lil’ pvp browser thing with all the servers in, basically it’ll sit there and ‘load’ for a while and then it’ll just tell me 42:0:9001:4419:101 error code thing which is the one where it tells you it can’t connect to the login servers and tells you to go fix your router/firewall/security settings and whatnot.

But this isn’t always the case. Very occasionally it’ll load up like normal and I can actually get into the servers. Haven’t figured out why, yet…

I’ve completely turned off my firewall, turned off all antivirus stuff but to no avail. I don’t use campus internet so it can’t be that… but since it started happening, I changed my ISP from BT to Post Office, since BT was expensive and Post Office just buys the BT lines.

So to sum it off, what does 42:0:9001:4419:101 actually mean when it says ‘check your router settings’?

Wasn’t 100% sure where to put this topic, so I just sorta stuck it in here.

Basically, when I go to the custom arena list, it sits there loading for about 20 seconds or so, then it pops up with an error message (Code=42:0:9001:4419:101). It’s pretty annoying.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I just read up that Verdant Brink wasn’t too much of a strain on some low-end specs, but as you said the smoke effect really dragged down performance. Hopefully they’ll just optimize the smoke effects and make them not-laggy, which I’m sure they can do!
