I’m not a necro, i’m a guardian and i’m good, i did all paths of every dungeons more than 10 times atleast, it’s not my fault if the group wipe at Spider Queen in AC or GL in Arah, i use Stand your ground and Aegis correctly in full cleric/knight set.

Even if some sellers would skip some bosses how does that affect you , I don’t understand. You can’t find a ‘GOOD’ arah group ? If you were good yourself you could carry your party. So the lame excuse ’ Pugs are terribad , i can’t find a decent group’ is pathetic . I pug arah p2 everyday and it’s not a big deal.

Im actually very gutted to hear someone come out with this on forums. Everytime anyone sells now they are scared of getting kicked. Soloing/Duoing you have no clue how they do it skipping or not. Anyway our biggest mistake was to kill everything because we thought it’s not possible to skip anything … But i watched a video yesterday and these guys were just skipping everything … Thats why it took 7hours ( killing things with 0 dps , its not the best idea lol )

I think, your problem wasn’t in DPS more in the team in general…My first time in p4 was with a 4 guardian team and 1 warrior we took 1 hour and 20 mins or something. Our DPS wasn’t great but the ability to not kitten is what made it a quick p4 pug run. But because you were in the party it automatically adds, 5< hours.

Theres no info about soloing alphard. Other than wethospu’s solo in which the boxes continuously respawn. I was able to learn lupi from watching videos and meleeing him in a group. Alphards attacks are completely negated by reflects in a group and theres no real danger compared to solo. I think its pretty understandable that people dont know how to solo alphard.

Attack speed comes into play a lot aswell. Thief has highest single target DPS. Thieves are something that should be utilized more…They will be in dungeon running guilds once eles get a nerf instead of a buff. Thief, can CnD Backstab combo for 20-35k every 4 seconds, and can HS span below 50% for around 15-25k. Thief is the highest single target. That all said the only thing they can provide a team other than stealth is vuln on crits…but they would have to drop some of its burst with Mug to get that…

The thief can provide a few more things other than stealth, DPS, and vul on crit. My main dungeon runner is the thief, and since I usually pug, I have found excellent use in most of the thieves abilities:

Permanent Blind Field: disables all non-champion enemies quite well.
Cleaving Weakness in sword Auto Attack
Defiant stripping Pistol Whip/Headshot
Spammable blast finisher w/ Cluster Bomb
Boom Stripping* with Larcenous Strike + Bountiful Theft
AoE endurance regen with agility signet + Bountiful Theft giving long duration AoE vigor
Great rezzing abilities with Shadow Refuge
Projectile reflection w/ Dagger storm (also out-heals enemies with signet of malice)
Projectile stopping + blind with Smokescreen
Targeted Pulls with Scorpion Wire

All in all, a good thief is someone you want around. There are some disadvantages with the thief, though:

#1: They don’t directly increase DPS that well. Most of their utilities are defensive, with the exception being that boon stealing can steal might away, as well as remove protection. Otherwise, they’ll have to blow initiative on cluster bomb in fire fields to give everyone might.

#2: Thieves become redundant really fast. All that stuff I listed above can be accomplished by one thief. Having two thieves doesn’t do it any better.

Because of this, in any sort of DPS test, unless you are testing the thief, you won’t see a thief.

*Note: boon stealing has recently been cut in half. Because of this, I am seriously considering going back to a 15/30/0/0/25 build to get Bountiful Theft again.

Fair points, but I was going based on perfect group situations. Thief utility is trash apart from stealth. But when buffs required are covered and there is no point bringer more than one Ele, thief is the next best thing. Yes they bring blind fields and projectile mitigation. But in a group situation like I run in, thief would only be there to make up for lost DPS. Running one guardian is almost always enough blinds/reflects and a mesmer if one comes on the run. 25,30,0,0,15 is the ideal thief dungeon spec.

Warrior is a good DPS class but gets beat by many in team situations, but the reason warrior DPS is so powerful is they self buff like a mad man, where Necro and Thief dont.

I have to count dodge 100% of the time; it makes my rotations kind of bad since I’m often pointlessly interrupting skills, but it’s definitely consistent if you don’t play with Lupicus’ positioning too much.

The only time I usually have a problem with WA on GS is when I’m in the 3rd auto-attack. It seems to make my WA not want to activate, really annoying.

I get that to…Why I rely of positioning myself with dodges…I find if I count dodge I will waste them, or I will lose focus. But I play the wasting risk if I do positioning aswell…I guess what ever works. Unless you aare getting a really low ping and everything is just perfectly synced, your going to need to get your own method of regularly avoiding kicks.

I once went 2 months without a skin doing 48’s almost every day. Then I got 3 skins in 2 days after that. The way of acquiring Fractal skins is plain stupid to be honest.

Well, it can be frustrating especially if you have a rough run like getting dredge and grawl after one another or some one messed up at Cliff Side….etc. That said, It’s still a wonderful and fun way to get rare armors and crafting mats. Definitely, I notice more rares from chests if i haven’t done world boss hunting or champs farming. So, always do FotM after resets and before hunting any bosses or champs!

Fractals is just one of those things, either you like it and want to do it, or you hate it and want to complain b/c you didn’t get the skin you want whilst farming for your rings.

I have no problem with how the skins are acquired, just they can’t be seen as anything prestigious. Much like anything in this game now its all about grinding and eventually maybe you will get what you’re looking for. Luckily the way I grind is an enjoyable way for me, doing dungeons, fractals and arah selling.

700 Fractals, assuming an even spread of uneven and even fractals means: 100 times uneven, and 100 times even, means that you’ve done 100 dailies.

The fact that you’ve only gotten a single weapon while doing 100 dailies probably means that you’ve only done low level Fractals (<30 and probably a lot of <20 as well, where weapons don’t even drop), not even taking into account the <10’s you’ve done.

If you want a Fractal weapon, I’d suggest you start running lvl 20+ and work your way towards lvl 48, where the weapon drop rate is around 15-20%. By the time your level is high enough, you’ll probably have gotten 2 or 3 weapons already.

I have completed over 60 20+ dailies and the last 2o or so have only been 48’s and the odd 38. I have never gotten a skin. But I have a friend who has gotten 9 skins now and good ones from 40~ dailies, and he got 4 skins in 2 days a few weeks back. (2 daggers, an axe and hammer). Some people are just lucky and others aren’t.

20 48’s and 38’s without a skin is really bad luck though.

I think the chances (from field testing) are around 5% for lvl 28, 10% for 38’s and 15% for 48’s, but that’s just hearsay.

I dont even know why I bother with fractals… Sometimes though it seems to be the only somewhat challenging content, especially when the kitteng npcs in Ascalon fractal wont follow and behave like the slaves they are.

Idk, I always have to dodge early. Oceanic player, if I wait for the proper time to dodge much like the crazies with 8ms ping, I will end up getting kicked or swipe. But the more you try solo and complete solo you will get used to when you must dodge and use skills in order for it all to line up.

Isn’t it something like approx 2 seconds between attacks he kicks? I am normally relying on good positioning when he starts his animation. But the kick really isn’t that hard to dodge if your not relying on positioning anyway.

Actually, although your comment was meant in an ironic way, you’re not completely wrong, in the sense that radioactive isotopes are being used to selectively bombard cancerous zones in order to kill the tumor. It’s just not Uranium that they use for that.
