Myself and a friend went on an Arah p2 duo and it was going quite well..We got to the last boss and she wouldn’t activate. We tried dieing to get our NPC to spawn and activate but didn’t work. It was much like the bug that happens in AC p2 a lot. I just want to know if anyone has experienced this before.

We did do a small Jp with a ship to get to the end boss could that cause it?

I keep trying to get it to trigger in my groups. I have yet for it to happen and I cast my duellist on the platforms. Because if it is a ranged trigger…Possibly a ranged/melee trigger…

Pugging just got worse.

It’s likely since before we had PuGs who dedicated themselves toward a dungeon so you can expect at least some of them to know it.

Now on the other-hand you have baddies flocking to Arah expecting easy money. It’s impossible to get p1 done under 1hr since there’s always someone who doesn’t know how to run past first pack of mobs AND you have to spend time at every event to explain things to them. And on one occasion on p3 after pulling Crusher out all by himself, the warrior holding predator and mesmer holding bifrost of course didn’t want to melee so they ate shockwaves and died without even immobilize for an excuse.

So for now I’m content to just farm gauntlet until the pugs get better/the baddies who don’t want to learn drop away

If you think you can melee lupi and are on NA pm me in game I will always get good groups going xD

I am making 25g+ each day ranging 10-20g more if I spam CoE. Kinda makes my alts useless though aswell Swift. But then again I get to play my main more xD.

I don’t have any idea on the stir this will cause, but for all means here it is. The gold rewards at the end of the dungeons aren’t that bad. Yes anet nerfed tokens which is bad, but the gold is not a problem. If you go on LFG and get a group for any dungeon and ask around and keep asking around eventually you will develop a core group of guys that you can run dungeons with and make 20g+ easy from doing some dungeons and then go do some champ farming or diverse yourself in the game.

And even those people who are dungeons all the time or nothing (like me) you will find repeating paths aint all that bad becasue some times those rewards chest can be really worth it and if you got a good group for CoE just spam the kitten out of that for Cores/Lodes and make a butt lode of money

I personally don’t know what to think about the rewards. All I can say, is Guild groups can be fun but honestly not efficient all the time, What I have done as a player is established a group of guys I can run dungeons with all the time. We get through every dungeon in a speed clear matter yes we are by the meta “perfect group”, but If your a competent player and willing to learn things not a problem you can get your own “perfect group”. As for the rewards, anyone farming for a set of dungeon armour has added so much more time if they can only get ~180 tokens a day because it will be account bound. I am interested if the rewards scale by the level of the dungeon..because if CoF p1 is like 2g for a run because it is level 75 OMG! easiest 2g ever.

Arah P4 is 45 minutes or so with a well put-together and knowledgeable team, and not particularly difficult at all, but the reward for it seems inadequate because it takes pugs 2-3 hours? Heh, there’s no wrapping my head around that.

Similarly, P1 may take only 25 minutes.

My advice: find a proper dungeon guild and stop torturing yourself. The new rewards are plenty and it only seems disproportionate in regards to input:ouput for people refusing to better themselves as players, or to surround themselves by better players.

I am already in a guild with pretty decent players. I personally do not have trouble with most of Arah but it’s also my responsibility to run it with other members who don’t do Arah as much as I do. A lot of my people in my guild are relatively inexperienced with the dungeon and those who are familiar with it are already bored to death by most of the PvE content so they just don’t or rarely run it.

As far as Public Groups go, some friends and I took a PUG Arah first timer and we full-melee’d Lupi. I have no issue teaching people how to do dungeons – I enjoy teaching people, but when certain content only becomes rewarding to a tiny subset of hardcore players, that content just isn’t going to be played. I guarantee you that 3g isn’t going to bring many new people into learning how to run Arah P4.

Arah P4, as you said, takes 45 mins to an hour with a decent group. An OK group will complete it in 1:30. A bad group will get stuck at Simin for an hour and/or ragequit. An elite group will clear it in 30 minutes.

I maintain that 3g for a run of P1/P4, most of the time, is not worth the effort. I’ll generally only do P1/P4 if I want to help someone with DM or if I am practicing a speed clear.

Angle I remember that run the pug was using a clerics lvl 78 fine mace lol! Killed lupi first try in melee whole time. Was perfect run PUGs who listen gotta love em!

New patch is in a few days and the way we were used to farming is diminishing, it is time for dungeon guilds to take fourth. I have been in the dungeon scene a while and thought if I were to make a guild that would support players in dungeons and make some decent profit.

This guild is like most dungeon guilds we want fast speed runs, with zerker classes and insane damage and skill. We will take members on a trial as a competency test. Just to see how the hold in with a group.

One of Guardian, Warrior, Mesmer, Thief, Ranger or Elementalist in a full set of berserk Armour. Dungeon Master is not something you have to have but experience in some dungeons would be nice just so you know how, boss mechanics may work and where to LOS or when to dodge etc.

(TRIALS WILL BE IN COE p3) Mail: Harrahou, Sithaco, Fanged Wisdom, Thanos Xx or Vixzie. One of those players will get you set up for a trial run.

So give us some Mail and Jump on Raidcall to have some fun. xD

going back to the topic of experienced groups. I think that the problem with those groups are people who join them are doing them to get rid or their Arah Virginity and thats why they seem a bit crappy. But honestly as long as you trying to be aware of attacks that look dangerous or things that killed/downed you in the first place you have a spot in most teams.

Just don’t go all elitist like I did. xD

Dungeons aren’t the meta in Gw2 sadly they are what I find most enjoyable apart from a sick run in tPvP and it’s because people respong to things in a negative way the Anet team scraps all possible work because people don’t enjoy change when they want something.

Where you went wrong was posting a hype-thread on content that people regularly crush in pugs, let alone efficiently farm in guild groups. Next time just post the video outright and say “here’s my guide on how we efficiently farm cof”.

I dont know if this thread ended. But I can tell you this, there is one ranger in the guild and it’s not me. I can’t play ranger PvE I play guard/war/mes and theif. Thats what I know. But I can tell you I often have this ranger in my party and our runs lose no time. I do understand my mistake xD

One minute you’re claiming cof p1 world record clearing times; now it’s “my groups are just as fast as normal groups” and to top it off you’re also admitting to not even understanding how your group composition functions? I take no pleasure in finding loopholes in this conversation, but man… these are quite drastic. Either way, I’m still in support of seeing some video evidence of your claims; but based on my pve and pvp experience on my Ranger I don’t quite see the place for them unless the fights are short (like cof) in order to avoid pet deaths and glaring dps gaps that would be shown in much longer fights.

We do have the best clear time, but we do farm aswell. I have never tried a super fast run with a ranger because when we want to record a video it’s always been 2 thieves and will always be 2 thieves. Ranger is merely something we have in our group for farm runs and there is no DPS loss. Except for when we do a timed run with power/crit food. I apologize for the confusion xD

Replacing 1 Warrior with a Ranger is a good idea. People will hate, but it’s a good plan.

My normal runs is 2 war 1 ranger 1 thief 1 mes. That is legit, ranger has crazy dps speced/geared correctly.

Your exactly right. But a certain minority that will watch a video helping them out will be able to go ahead and attempt to pass knowledge on. Gw2 is a community game, why complain about someone trying to help the community with what he is good at? I get my idea is flawed in quite a few ways, and one being your comment, but forgive me for wanting to try xD

A lot of pugs don’t really care about that as much as they do thinking that they are super speed clear geniuses, and that’s what a lot of CoF farming pugs are like. They don’t really want to listen to advice since they already think they are right.

I am not going to disagree the thing that makes DnT such good dungeon runners is their skill and co ordination. But all the runs we do is through game chat, we are not even a proper guild. 50 members in the guild MARS a LFG guild that is non rep. coordination as good as any pugs.

No, because your group that did this has probably practiced it countless times together, know exactly what each of your roles are, have builds ironed out perfectly, and all of the other things you would find in an organized group. Saying that it’s as good as any pug is really just an ignorant statement.

I am fully aware that a pug group wont be getting times like fully organised practiced groups have. But why is it so wrong to improve their 7min times to 6min times just by knowing a little more about gw2 mechanics…not CoF mechanics gw2 mechanics?

That’s not really something that’s avoidable. You’ve made a claim, took awhile to provide evidence, and the end result wasn’t really that impressive. I don’t see how you could avoid arguments when this is the situation that arises.

If anyone took notice of what the thread was originally about I doubt it would have gotten to the stage that it is now.

Secondly, Strife has left and don’t think he even cares, so if all of you people trying to beat DnT could put your raging erections away for beating their time that would be nice.

There’s not really any reason to get hostile over it. I’m sure that there will be groups that come along and beat our times, but that’s just a part of the game. That being said, I was expecting kind of a mind blowing CoF strategy that no one had ever thought of. I didn’t really see that here :/

This video was posted over a month ago, strategies for dungeons stay fairly similar in top tier groups who are doing times faster than most. I was planning on making a new video to share our strategies like DnT’s very own strife did. Sadly enough the feedback I got has more or less repelled me from doing so xD

Pugs run 4 warriors because warriors are easier to stay alive with if you’re not as experienced/skilled. Same goes for using FGJ instead of fire field might, pugs aren’t very organized/coordinated. None of this is groundbreaking for record style teams. You’re an idiot.

But if people weren’t so stubborn and would understand that people want to change this style of 4 wars GS hack slash hulk smash play style. Dropping a bow is not a hard thing to do and aiming your banner aoe in fire field is not a hard thing to do. Using warhorn 5 is not a hard thing to do, cluster bombing is not a hard thing to do. By using blast finishers in any pug group you eliminate the need to fgj on all your team mates and can swap in something that improves overall dps, like frenzy.

If people want to come into this thread and complain that CoF is easy and anyone who can’t do a 6min run is kittened in more ways than 2, go ahead i dont care less, but do not call me an idiot if your afraid of dying in CoF xD

Personally, I’d like to see the video and build guide. It is possible that there may be better ways to run than what is currently being done and unless I am open to new possibilities, I won’t ever progress.

Builds have changed and thats why I want to do a new video, when my group can reform we are going to try and beat our record with the new warrior changes xD

I will be making a forum guide on how CoF p1 should be run in the next couple days I will link it on this thread along with a video. Until then I have a video of my group breaking the p1 record on another forum thread some techniques will be able to be seen in that video. gl with your legendary.

I might upload a video with a bunch of cuts explaining builds and how we handle each part, but in a week or so we are going to widen our margin and hopefully get under 5:40. Everyone who watched the video keep in mind, that we have no voice coms as it is a guild established of players found on LFG or through friends. I put what I believed to be the best team together for our run. That being said only myself and Shadow are guaranteed in the next video.

Ok my bad, initially thought you started at gate blown, as most people do when they time videos as not everyone uses the ferrah glitch, or ports her. You could have knocked off a few seconds from porting ferrah btw, now someone will beat your time just based on that :P. Just noticed two of the people in your group I run with normally as well .

I think the real question is how consistent do 2 thieves run this path at 5:42. Thieves mixed with the meta (war/mes)have the potential to run this the fastest(its nice to see thieves proficient at least in one dungeon) , but that doesn’t mean much if its not consistent. I saw shadows video, and it was so badly edited (due to failing on other parts) you couldn’t get a grasp on their real time. All its takes is one person to die on effigy to mess up your time(or somehow a few die on acolytes). With any thief though, you basically have to sacrifice a HB on a war, to bring a bow for might(as they lack party might). “Might” be something to think about.

Nikaido.3457 I normally kill slave driver way before TW ends, reason for that was cause I poped tome for zealots thinking tw was on CD, preventing me from getting a few extra attacks in. Like I said, my old video was just the one time I decided to record it. Not everyone in that party was using an axe off set, most with not even one ascended piece of gear.

I would have to re record another, now that I run with better people, and am more knowledgeable about it myself. Donno if it will beat 5:42 from entering, i’m sure under 6 mins tho, which is fine with me.

2 thieves is only what we do for timed runs really, if we farm with 2 thieves we average around 6min runs because we have no TW and use different foods, less caring about specs etc. But for our attempts at timed we make sure everyone is ready before we start. We had 6 attempts I believe and 3 trials. We beat our previous record on first attempt but 5:42 was our best. We are gonna record again soon and hopefully drop down to 5:35

Sorry to burst your bubble, but 5:42 is no where near the fastest, its actually considered a mediocre group for that time. I regularly run under 5 mins from gate being blown, while playing on my guardian. I have a video posted a few months ago(post quickness nerf), recorded with a 5 min 17s(still slow).

I will probably record a new video of a clear of under 5 mins, yet again on my guardian. I am sure most of the people who run this path, think you can’t speed clear with anything other than wars(although atleast one probably needed for banners), mes & the occasional theif.

The people who say who cares, don’t farm the dungeon. The people who speed clear care, because they run it all the time, and optimizing yourself with traits & max gear(6 ascended, full zerk & right sigils/weaponsets) make it entertaining to see that time invested in your character pay off. It is one of the few places to test your dps.

Most have never received a 1 token(near 5 mins or under) reward from speed clearing this dungeon, although you get less tokens & silver, its desired, and a goal setter for enthusiast.

This path can be done fast fast with guards, eles, rangers anything really. We can do a run under 5mins if we start the timer after the path select. But then you are wrong because that is not the whole dungeon run. Link your video and then we’ll see if it compares to mine. Must start timer from entry gate where the armour repair is

Its not about what others care about its about, what we can do. My group and many other groups try to have the best score time and what not for anything that can be measured by that. Also its an accomplishment whether or not you or anyone else cares.

This video is posted on another forum thread, but I wanted to make a whole new topic for it. This is a run that shows on my timer 5:418 so youtube rounds that to 5:42, but this by what I am aware was the fastest time ever.

This run and post is all about what CoF is to my group can do and we think we can do better. Also learn a lot about how to really mes guys, this is how it is done!

Well maybe you could try this throw your sword run at him bulls charge frenzy for great justice hundred blades. No comma’s not enough time. Oh and if they dodge your kitten, unless you are half decent.
