I tested it out with shooting fireballs and after the second fireball it stopped giving me crits. Also I don’t think DoT’s are affected by AP
I don’t get it. Why do people keep saying that Ele is weak? Don’t we have the largest AoE damageing skills ingame? My Churning Eart for example has a large AoE and can hit up too 12k. Cone of Cold stacks up too 6k regulary and also provides 1k healing.
Besides the mass AoE skills we seem to have alot more escape/crippling skills then other classes.
If the enemy surprises us then yes we will be dead in 2-5 seconds. But even then we can save ourself fairly easy using mist form/arcane shield and set ourselfs up for the counter for example using earthquake to knock the enemy down or use shocking aura to stun him.
As a Warrior you have more HP/armor but you lack in escape movements/crippling /knockdown/stunning. The 1v1 dps is awesome but the aoe damage is low and covers a small area.
Both are evenly matched IMO
It seems that Arcane Power only grants the next 2 attacks as a guaranteed crit. The description however says that the next 5 attacks will be a guaranteed crit. Is this a bug or is it wai?
I agree with most tips. But as an Asura I found it fairly easy to complete this JP. You can jump more precise as an asura because it is so small. Also didn’t find any problems with the camera.
This JP is easy, climbing the tree in the MK instance is harder then this.

Hmm, I can’t even get past the first barrier fields. It seems that everytime we try to do path 1 it just bugs at the start. No waves are coming, the barriers are indestructible.

Dunno what the fuss is about. I wont recognize any of the armours if I encounter them anyways. Either they will be rendered due to mass population or its cluttered. The only time you’ll really see it is by pressing the ‘H’ key.
Blame nightcapping for the deserted wvwvw servers. Hopefully ANet will fix this by only allowing europeans to play on european servers and american only on american servers etc.
Lately it seems as when my enemy is on an elevated position most of my main hand dagger skills won’t hit even though I am in close range. Anyone else encountered this issue?

I haven’t found any magic aswell. I’m an ele with over 150% magic find, but I have to yet encounter a new magic skill for my weapon (I’m still stuck with the stock skills). Does anyone know how to use magic find? Do you need to kill the mob and then you have a chance to obtain it’s magic or what? I’m kinda lost here…

Perhaps its because ANet is altering things that should not have been altered after they released it. Mainly the DR system.
As in all MMO’s there will be botters/exploiters etc. They should have tested this system during the BWE and internal weekends. If I knew on beforehand that GW2 would have a similar anti-farm system as GW1, I would have NEVER BOUGHT this game.

Getting the 100% exploration on the WvWvW maps isn’t that hard:
1) Find a a server that loves to nightcap. (Vizunah Square for example)
2) Join the WvWvW maps early in the morning like 7 am.
3) Profit.
They will implement this feature through PAID custom pvp lobbies. At least thats what the dev blog says.
I think we all get how DE’s work. They are great if you are willing to follow them around. However most players don’t like waiting around for 15-30+ minutes just to get the next part of the DE when there is an another one happening.
Ooh and they aren’t a world firsts thing. I believe Tibia and other mmorpgs implemented these kind of no-talking-to-npc-just-walk-closeby-type-of-quests. Which also resulted in different quests if you completed or failed them.

Gold buyers, working the market (mainly exploiting), botting and hacking. I’m pretty sure if ANet investigates most of these high gold transactions they would probally find one of these causes.

The reason why people are getting DR so easily in Orr is because the DE’s there are almost only those of the wave category for instance Melandru defend, Plinx chain, Tar, Rakkan etc. Because alot of people are lvl 80, the majority will stay in the lvl 80 zone (cursed shore). The thing is with wave DE’s is that they will speed up the faster the wave will get cleared. This results into DE’s that will last shorter then normal, thus speeding up the karma/h ratio.
Solutions could be:
1) Increase in difficulty, not only an increase in mob size, hp, armor but also an increase in siege, tactics and not just blatently running towards the first waypoint and die along the way.
2) Increase the amount of karma/loot given in ratio to a player his lvl, this means that a lvl 80 can get just as much loot/karma in Queensdale as he can in Orr.
3) Increase the spawning time of the DE’s in the current lvl 80 zone.
These are just some of the possible solutions. In my oppinion I would not go for 3, because 15 minutes is already a reasonable time. 1 is probally to much coding to implement in the near future, but option 2 is doable atleast for the karma/gold per event. At the moment you only get ~75% of the karma when completing a DE outside of Orr. Why not increase this into 100% or even 110% to stimulate players going towards other zones.

@Arcalas and all other farm bashers, great that you like to not farm and that you have not had issues with the DR. But please try to also look from an another player’s perspective. Some of us (a minority or not) like to farm efficient.
If your a gamer that havn’t had problems with the DR, then thats great for you. But don’t come here telling other people that what they are experiencing wouldn’t happen if they played this game the way you do.
We all like to play our games our own way. Some like to get to the max point ASAP, while other like to stare at a tree 5 minutes. Should we be punished for playing the game? The answer is obviously NO!
As for the statement that we rush through to many events to quickly. It isn’t our fault that DE’s give gold medals after a single kill. Why should I waste my precious time on completing one event, when I can tag 5 events in the same timeframe?
Instead of implementing a system that hurts efficient players, they should have gone and:
- Either up the difficulty of the DE’s so it will be harder for them to complete.
- Make it that you need to at least finish 70% of the DE in order to obtain gold. Also make the difference between bronze, silver and gold larger. Right now the difference between silver and gold is maybe 50 karma.
About the youtube video “slowing down gameplay”. Those events are fun for the first 1-5 times but after that it will ALWAYS stay the same. Thus its just an another repeatable quest. Also alot of these chain events are only played through once, simply because the follow up quest keeps repeating itself. For example taking one of the outpost in Cursed Shore. The event leading up to this will only come by after a server reset, after that the outpost will be defended by players camping the same events.
If only karma/ loot rewards were the same on all maps…

When doing DE’s all over Orr I reached a point ~20 min into my gameplay where my karma started dropping real fast. IT even affected my other characters!
This has to be a bug right?
Daily server resets would work aswell. Or change the broken skill points into commune skill points

And ele is actually pretty easy. My first char was a ranger and thusfar I have died only 2 times on my ele. Maybe you are doing something wrong. Are you using all of your elements?

Herpie derpie. In case you guys don’t know relogging or travelling to an other zone, will reset the loot/karma cap completly. So whenever you reach a cap simply log out to char screen and reload your char. Voila you have just resetted your loot/karma cap.
Ooh this has also been picked up by bots. I followed some and saw them relogging every 5-10 min (you’ll see them standing still even when there are mobs attacking them)
These “caps” are just a poorly designed scirpts just to butthurt us players.
I would love to hear ANets plans to stop this nonsense. I remember back in the day while I was playing Tibia, that Gamemasters were actively hunting botters. A player could simply report the botter ingame and 5 minutes later a Gamemaster would show up, and quickly decide if the player was a botter. Also with every single update they implemented safety features that rendered all AI scirpts.
Tibia was run by a small company and had few Gamemasters at the time, yet they managed to keep the game clean for years and years. I’m sure that a company like ANet will be able to do atleast the same or even better.
Oooh and maybe we should just spam there facebook/twitter/whatever crap currently is “hot”, with the question what they will do about this situation.
Four weeks in. World completion 100%, running events/dungeons/wvw all day WITH FRIENDS, never get bored. Seems like you need to find a social guild with whom you can hang out while playing, makes everything alot more fun =) And else I’m sure your the kind of person to hop on the next MMO which is probally going to be MoP for you, so enjoy your pandas, young man.
Lol? Are you serious? This games combat system is already flawless. I don’t see why you want to change it lol… If YOU do not like it, then why are you playing this game?
Don’t start topics thinking that EVERYONE feels this way. There are ALOT of people that enjoy the current combat system. I do think that the amount of skills they give us is a little bit limiting. For instance in GW1 I remember that one class had over 100 skills to choose from, but was only limited to 8 skills at a time. This gave the player alot of creative options, which in my oppinion lacks in GW2.

Yesterday I completed 100% on the world completion. Normally you would receive a little star next to your name and some gifts. But I didn’t receive any of these, my friend whom I was partying with did receive the 100% completion rewards.
So could I receive the rewards? I can prove that I have 100% World Completion.
