Permadeath making missions/elite areas hard. Yes, I miss it greatly.

Build templates.

Heroes ascent pvp

massive skill list – even though a lot were junk and weren’t really ideal to use, there were so many different builds to run depending on the situation for farming, missions, elite areas, speed clears etc, it was fun to use them all, and fun to be able to have two professions to make even higher utilization out of them

it just seems like gw2 is such a watered down mmo with little to no consequence of anything, but in return, we get so much trash loot ..no risk, no reward.

It doesn’t matter how many bags it is. Whether it stacks or not does not matter either, in the end they have to be clicked, whether clicking now or later doesn’t change anything for me at all. As I said, I enjoy the process of unboxing all at the same time and that’s the only reason it stacks up. I never hurry the process either, sometimes I take breaks, and do it at a comfortable pace so I am not rushing through 1000 champion bags making anything worse than it should be.

Stacks upon stacks means as I said, in a given week span of playtime, maybe 1000-1500 bags altogether. In silverwastes, is completely possible, with chestrunning. Currently have 1300 hours logged into the game.

Alright this is in direct conflict with your OP.

So you actually think unboxing them right away SAVES mousestrokes? How do any of you posters think this actually reduces the amount of loot in some way?

I already stated, whether opening them sooner or later, the number of mousestrokes are EXACTLY THE SAME. THERE IS NO WAY TO REDUCE THIS ASIDE FROM COMBINING LUCK, WHICH I ALREADY DO.

I let them accumulate because I enjoy unboxing loot all at once to see what is inside, it has nothing to do with the amount of strain on my hand. I take it slow, I take breaks, I DO NOT RUSH UNTIL MY HAND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO PAINFULLY FALL OFF TO GET THROUGH STACKS OF CHAMPION BAGS.

You are incorrectly making the focus of my post on stacks of champion bags, when it has nothing to do with that.
Too many white knights here taking offense to someone considering quitting gw2 it isn’t even funny. You are not reading my post clearly and correctly, as I said that if this becomes a serious issue for me moving forward I am intending to stop playing guild wars 2 —- but why should I have to do that over a game I enjoy? Others with no hand issues are complaining about the same issue, and it’s only worse for someone like me. I am not any sort of terminally ill patient, which some of you make me out to be. I clearly stated in my OP that I am a bit more than a casual player, I play pretty frequently. I have only 1300 hours logged in the last years of gw2, and I was in the beta, so you average out the hours for me. Now if my issues were critically serious I doubt I would be playing at all, but these hand issues for me are getting slowly and increasingly a bit harder to deal with day by day cutting my playtime shorter and shorter because I rest myself. Now if even these mousestrokers were in some way reduced by half, then that would be a decent QoL change would it not?

I’m sorry you’re dealing with some kind of hand problem. That can’t be fun.

Beyond that the premise of what you’re saying is patently ridiculous. You’re saying you have too much loot to sort through and it’s not fun.

You have my sympathy if you’re not playing the injury angle so people don’t outright tell you to get over a first world problem.

In the future try not to let your bags accumulate to a ridiculous level.

I casually chest run and I’ve never had more than one stack of champ bags for it. I got close to two stacks once.

If you have stacks upon stacks, you’re a bit more dedicated than you want to let on my friend. That, or you’re not cleaning them out after your runs.

To get through my trove efficiently (money wise and salvage wise) takes me about 20 mins maybe and that’s because I’m a profit pincher and slow considerably when I do maths and stuff.

I’m meticulous, happy with my accuracy in that I ultimately get my stuff right, but my efficiency leaves much to desire. I’m a slower person with such things.

Number cruncher people or folks that have a dedicated routine going get it done a lot faster.

Based on what you’ve said because I won’t insult your intelligence, you’ve probably got stacks upon stacks upon stacks of bags if sorting through it is going to take you several hours.

Bite the bullet, deal with it, and don’t let it happen again. I don’t think anyone can help you with this.

If it’s all just too much or your injury just isn’t going to allow it, please do take a break. Allow yourself time to heal and recover.

It’s not the most important thing in the world. Take it easy.

It doesn’t matter how many bags it is. Whether it stacks or not does not matter either, in the end they have to be clicked, whether clicking now or later doesn’t change anything for me at all. As I said, I enjoy the process of unboxing all at the same time and that’s the only reason it stacks up. Hi all,

Making this thread because today I have been deep in thought considering giving up beloved GW2. For a long time I have been having hand issues and been in a lot of pain. It’s getting increasingly worse every day, somewhat due to gaming, but not exclusively.

I love gw2 so much, but the non-existant QoL loot changes are really affecting my desire to continue playing it. I do play pretty actively, few hours a day, more on days off. I would say I am a bit more than a casual player. I do a lot of events/silverwastes and In any given week I have more than a thousand champion bags, chests, etc to open that I do all at once. It sometimes takes me over a couple hours to open it all, salvage, sell, and sort my rewards and while it is a little fun at times, the amount I have to open for the amount of gold gained is incredibly horribly to scale.

These days the thought of opening so many bags (and then dealing with the luck) is daunting and I really don’t want to deal with it, not because I am lazy, but it really does put stress on my hand. I really get turned off by the thought.

I have considered playing less however I don’t feel that I should have to just because my condition is getting worse. (health comes first though under any circumstance!) I enjoy playing the amount I do, and I want to have the full gw2 experience and work toward my goals at my rate. somehow I feel that even others who don’t have hand issues might get them by playing this game long term.

I am begging for some sort of QoL change to reduce loot drops, and give more per salvage or change something, anything.

I don’t want to have to stop playing

ehhh, having a reason not to die, is not a bad mechanic.

old players won’t die as it is. New players will be too afraid to try content as they’re not welcome as it is.

Afraid? Stressed? Who the kitten EVER FEELS THIS WAY PLAYING AN MMO?

How about learn to adapt to game mechanics and better themselves? “Oh man this is tough let me practice more” “oh man I need to get better gear”

Progression.

This is the age old mentality that will never change gw2 for the better, it will remain casual and stale forever.

This is a joke, correct? What about all the thousands of other people, including myself, who started from the beginning and learned all of the content and mastered it even with the death penalty? How many hours do you think i’ve spent before all of the candy canes out grinding down mobs in said instance from -60dp until my party and I were able to continue the dungeon and learn from our mistakes?

Much better than this cakewalk we have nowadays…oh im not punished for dying so lets rush and run through everything, waypoint all around, skip mobs, because if I die, well no big deal.

THIS IS HOW BEAUTIFUL CONTENT AND WORLDS THAT THEY’VE CREATED FEEL MUCH LESS THREATENING!!!!

I never felt like rushing trough places, because if you die, you still need to waypoint, your armour still slowly wears down until you will have to waypoint to repair and you will still need to beat the content to progress passed the waypoint that you’re coming back to.
Add a death penalty to that and all you’re doing is upsetting the player, as they’re not only already struggling, but now they’ll be struggling even more because you just reduced their stats. If they couldn’t do it to begin with then HOW ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO DO IT NOW?

Sorry, but I really don’t play games to get stressed.

You make no sense whatsoever. Rushing past content doesn’t kill you. You will rarely die. Broken armor means nothing, it takes several breaks before you even lose an armor piece completely – repairing is free and youre likely to do that before your ENTIRE SET BREAKS.

Along with your previous comment about not being able to do any gw1 content because you’d repeatedly be DP’ed out and now this one, I really don’t know what to say about you in regards to your skill level. GW2 is one of the easiest, most casual, hand holding games out there to date and you still apparently cannot play it without feeling threatened, so this dp discussion really isn’t for you anyways.

I have ran through the entire map every single area with a level 30 engineer using speedy kits, rocket boots and correct dodging. How hard is it- really?

it would be extremely anti-learning that way. The only way I’m able to even see GW1s content is by my guildies going with me and feeding me anti-death penalty consumables. Sure, eventually I will learn. But it’s extremely discouraging to even try content when you know that you’ll be punished for dying.

If you have another character that hasn’t completed the episode, you can play it on that character to get the rewards again.

The one I am doing it on is an alternate character that is 80 and I never do anything with. I know for a fact it had not completed it but its not giving me the rewards.

I however did get the rewards for part 2, but part 1 isnt going the same.

You can get the rewards again by repeating the stories. I haven’t bothered doing that myself but apparently you have to talk to one of the NPCs at the end of each instance.

Going to attempt this instance for the 4th freaking time to see if this works, hope it does.

the problem is i am short on laurels so i am trying a method to bypass and receive the reward the normal way.

I am starting the living story part from the very beginning – scratch, instead of jumping into a specific story part to see if it makes any changes.

I know for a fact that I didn’t complete the living story on this character so I will have to see if that changes anything.

IEximius.9204

Hi all,

is there any way for me to replay DR part 1 for the gifts needed to complete the first backpiece for mawdrey?

I had completed the story awhile back when it first came out on my main character, stupidly I had not intended to create the backpiece and threw the pieces away.
Today I decided to go for it again and am using an alt character. I started the living story part, and it allows me to play each individual part, and when I go in and play it, I get no rewards.

I need the following:
Ley Line Infused Stone
Vial of Sacred Glacial Water
Weirded Phantasmal Residue

I ask this because today on this same alternate character I completed the dragons reach part 2, and I got all of the rewards….and I know for a fact I ALSO completed that on my main when it came out as well, and am confused as to what the difference was since I just jumped into it and didn’t play my alt for some time.

Is there any way to receive these rewards again replaying it, or do I have to buy them with laurels?
Is it perhaps that I did not start the story from the beginning, and just jumped to a specific instance to replay that it happened? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Nowadays I am taking an upwards of 10 or even closer to 20 seconds to load into a map or while switching characters etc. Is there something I can do to fix this? It’s really quite a ridiculous load time, and doesn’t even have a % bar like it used to, just a random spinning circle, and I am wondering if i screwed up my settings at some point because this game is loading horribly now. any help would be appreciated thanks.

At least it isn’t as bad as TERA. There is so much superfluous loot in TERA people literally would rather it rot on the ground than even bother picking it up. How bad do you have to get rewards when people don’t want most of it? GW2 isn’t quite as bad, but it’s pretty close. Useless garbage constantly gets thrown in our bags. The overwhelming majority isn’t even worth good money. Most of the effort of looting goes to sorting through all the trash in hopes of finding something worth more than 50s.

Loot should be exciting and rewarding, not a tedious drudgery that many would avoid if they could.

Tera does also have a lot of useless loot, however it doesnt take a lot of sorting, mainly just selling, and I can live with that to be honest. The way gw2 works, i am almost required to salvage each and every item for later use, and depositing and sorting out, and from a QoL standpoint it really really is uncomfortable.

We really need a reduction on loot in this game, there is so much trash that drops, its not fun, and its very tiring.

The complete and utter worthlessness of “low end” gear is crazy too. Blues and greens are synonymous with white and junk items. They are ALL junk.

But I am curious OP, how many exotics did you actually get? The rng is still so incredibly low its crazy how few exotics one person loots in the course of the game, and even those are not worth much.

I believe out of 1500 bags, I got about 10-15, I know I got several Truth axes and those were the only memorable exotics. The rest were mostly exotic armor pieces, which were sub 1g a piece.
This is the first time I had opened so many bags, and haven’t been playing for awhile. I have heard people go a long time without seeing exotics. After I would clear my inventory I would have about 50-60 slots avaliable and fairly consistently I would expect to see an exo or two, however nothing beyond special and nothing to excite my interest of course. After its all said and done, I am certain the regular materials, silk, orichaclum etc netted me more value.

I honestly did not record anything that came out of those bags as a whole to predetermine an estimation of what I made, however I know my 75g speculation was far far FAR beyond what I actually made.

This is something i’ve known for a long time, however got put into perspective for me as of recently.

I farmed for a week in the silverwastes and ended up with 1,000 champion bags, plus 500 more of other bags. I opened them all up the other day and It took me literally 2 hours to open them all, sort, salvage, and sell everything.

My hand was so incredibly tired, and while I did manage to get a good bit of cash/luck from it all, it didn’t feel on par with the amount of work I had to put into it to get it.

I wasn’t even close to a legendary with what I opened from 1500 bags. I am not saying by any means legendaries should only take a week to farm, however the scale and number of bags if you think about it, is horrifying.

Lets say opening those 1500 bags gave me 50-75g, and a full legendary cost about 2500. Id have to open bags for a good 70 hours ( thats just OPENING the bags) before I could afford a legendary. And my calcuation was based on 75g out of 1500 bags, which is nowhere near close, just a generous estimation.

We really need a reduction on loot in this game, there is so much trash that drops, its not fun, and its very tiring.
