Upgrade costs should be REMOVED COMPLETELY and replaced with AUTO UPGRADE if you are holding the tower/keep for X amount of time.
Of course the supply costs stay as it is.
p.s. What game needs as well is guild tax based in % how much money players make’s in WvW get deducted and put in guild bank
Thats what happens when you get tons of French Canadians playing during the late night/early morning.
When it comes to scoring GW2 in not about how good coordination/guilds/players it have but more about how many players you can get from different time zones
Get use to it, stop watching the end score and rather post screen shots whats going on from 17:00 till 00:00 if in those times they are loosing then your server did a good job regardless of end result.
Lol you only get points when you capture the keeps?
This makes no sense at all, think about it.
e.g.: One server has all the points all the time because the are simply better.
Another server takes over all keeps during the night shortly before the match ends.
Both servers have the same amount of points.
We have 3 sides and there is slim to no chance to end up with same score and even if we did ? Is it wrong if two server have tie ? Btw it could happen in current system as well.
Let me rephrase:
The current system makes no sense at all, think about it.
One of the server takes over all keeps during the night and getting scores every 15 minutes the whole night ?
If you want to go to such theories let try like this:
One server invest 30 minutes time at 2am and capture all or close to all map.
Now 15h passed its 17:00 PM people start coming back from school/work etc..
So what happens in that kind of scenario:

Now please tell me where is the incentive for players to fight here ?
Point wise someone got point without the need for any real defense just investing 30 to 60 mins and thats it.
Yes the servers that have players during off time will always have an edge and its ok as long as they are actually fighting for it.
No such thing as perfect system but imo current one is completely flawed.

I would suggest complete overhaul of scoring system:
01. Server gets points rewarded once when it the keep gets captured.
With this the problem of night capturing when no one is defending would be solved.
The WvW is about Player(s) VS Player(s) so rewards should be distributed when there was PvP.
02. The players defending the keep should still receive all the XP/Karma for successfully defending, however just defending should not bring any score.
( the tick/interval should just stay for this purposes but not for WvW score )
With this kind of environment servers would really compete against each other and not like now when alarm clocker server make 40.000K+ difference during 2am – 7am by capturing empty or close to empty objectives and then receiving points without any need defending it.
Sure those server would still have a head start by receiving points when capturing objectives and they should get it, however getting points trough the night on empty maps is not acceptable.
p.s. There could be some major flaws I did not consider so I suggest we brainstorm idea a bit more.
The 15 minutes cycle and SM 35 points is quite nice change.
Now waiting for alarm clocker server’s to get fixed by splinting scoring into three 8h zones:
17:00-01:00 100% of points
01:00-09:00 25% of points
09:00-17:00 40% of points

Due to the amount of people we see queued for maps while spaces are open in other maps, we have started talking about possible ways we can change the current setup to help get people into the other maps if they have space available, but that stuff is all still in the discussion phase so it’s not likely we’ll be able to change things anytime soon.
Why would I want to queue for all the maps? This is Guild Wars and I want to play with my guild on the same map at the same time. I don’t want to be in a boarder land while the rest of my guild are in EB.
Because a lot of players go in WvW zones to PvE, do jump puzzles and do their AKF’s .
WvW should be about PvP and all PvE should be removed from there + all NPC’s except repair armor and buy siege weapons .. no trader no bank no nothing.
Finally some changes
well WvW should be about mass PvP and not PvE and easy mode leveling char.

WvW was advertised as an alternative leveling method and casual PvP experience. Locking out lower levels would harm the overall experience of leveling how you prefer.
There was no info about massive 3h + ques either, things change.

Obtaining commander status via gold is the single dumbest thing i’ve seen arenanet do regarding PvP. The title should be EARNED, not purchased.
I agree or if purchased then with a lot of GUILD points that you need to spend and so loosing time on upgrades.
p.s. How do you use commander markers .. it used to work in BWE’s but now it stopped.
The insane WvW ques are making Guild Wars 2 experience … dont even have the words ( that would not be banable offense )
Please consider to do few quite simple things that should make big impact on ques-
01. remove all PvE from WvW
No item farming, no drops from mob’s, no XP from mobs, no jumping puzzles, no tamable animals etc…
02. Prevent all that are not level 80 to join WvW’s.
03. Remove Bank, TradePost aka ALL NPC’s except basic Merchant, Repair Armor, and Siege Merchant … wanna do trading , guild things get out of the WvW
04. Give us numeric value how many people are in que for each map and once you join the que you see what’s your current number.
05. Make account based reservation so if your game crashes, network error’s etc and you reconnect the server keep’s your spot. ( max 1 or 2 minutes )
The actual fix would be to really limit the amount of accounts per server as lets say if you allow 200 players per server per map * 4 maps = 800 players there really should not be 15.000 / 20.000 accounts per server …
