Necromancer pets will not always attack.

The screenshot below shows the behavior. The only minion that attacks regularly is the Bone Fiend, which attacks at range. The melee ones attack if they are attacked, and sometimes attack my target, but other times will just stand there, as shown. When the mob does, they will move closer to me. Also, in cases where a mob dies the minions will sometimes go and attack a nearby mob that popped into my auto-target but which I did not attack. The golem … well. I’ve since this scene stopped using him because he seldom attacks what I want him to, he often attacks things I don’t want him to, and his special ability “Charge” in many cases sends him far enough to aggro the next mob.

What to do at endgame.... cause I cant find anything!

I remember “the whole game is endgame” being part of the GW2 hype. I’ve been disappointed with this aspect of GW2. I don’t have all my exotics at 80. I haven’t maxed map or most of the crafting professions. I expected to be challenged and to earn rewards appropriate to my level anywhere in the game. This has not been the case as down-leveling still leaves lower level content too easy and reward scaling is not happening much.

Saw a new approach by an RMT spammer today. They sent the usual message but put 1 copper into the mail. I reported the mail as spam, per usual, but am unable to delete the mail unless I take the copper. I do not want to take their darned copper, since it feels dirty to do so. I also do not want the mail in my in-box.

Suggestions?

GW2 Dungeons need re-balancing, imo

The problem here, is that these dungeons are NOT living up to the Anet Manifesto of Guild Wars2. That is the problem.

Except, they are. Part of the manifesto was that dungeons were supposed to be difficult. All difficult content in a video game has a learning curve. People are complaining about the difficulty without taking the time to learn how to beat it. If I can beat a dungeon, then anyone should be able to.

Anet's bad Portrey of a Nekromancer

I like the Necromancer class except for 2 things. One is the kittening minion bug where the melee summons (i.e., most of them) won’t attack unless something hits them. Two is the underwater weapon skills, that mostly force me into close range to be effective. I find the class to feel like a necromancer should, so my expectations are obviously different than the OP’s.

GW2 "endgame" model is fine. Execution doesn't make sense tho, problem and solution.

I have been disappointed with the down-leveling, both in terms of challenge and drops. Mobs are boringly easy for the most part and a large majority of the drops are the zone’s level. Rewards need to scale better and the down-leveling needs a minor tweak.

Anyone else slightly disappointed with high-level female armor choices?

IndigoSundown.5419

The rare/exotic armor that drops or is crafted is intended to look the same as the stuff you get in the late stages of leveling. Different looks are available in a variety of ways as long-term goals.

My primary disappointment was that Karma could buy me a L80 cultural weapon, but no L80 armor anywhere that I’ve seen.

The real worry: is buying Gold ever going to be worth it?

I report the gold sellers that mail me in game, and many of those advertising in game chat (if I am not rushed). I do, however, see how little they are asking in comparison to the exchange rates. There is the disconnect as to why the gems for gold system is not making the game unprofitable for illicit RMT sellers.

Why must I be a hardcore player to pass explorer mode dungeons?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

IndigoSundown.5419

The dungeons are hard content. Hard content in video games requires thought, observation, trial and error and perseverance. GW2 dungeons are intended to be hard content. They should remain such.

The hardcore players may succeed more quickly than others. They may have put more thought into their builds, which can help. However, the hardcore fail in hard content also as they are learning. Players who play less often may take longer in real time to learn as they try less often. If I can succeed in dungeons, anyone can.

The real problem with dungeons has been that rewards did not match the time spent to master the content, and that is being addressed. As you say, other aspects of GW2 do not appeal to you. Why not take the time to learn the dungeons?

Your thoughts about Orr

Constant CC and conditions. Mobs respawning as the one they are replacing is falling. A mob (or 2 or 3) every 50 feet in many places. Everyone come! Half (or more) of the points needed for exploration you face the “can’t get there from here” stuff that GW1 featured.

Orr does not feel challenging. It feels frustrating.

Over Mumble, the first in our guild to reach 80 told us that people were running past mobs to get to exploration objectives. We asked why. He said, “Because fighting them is an exercise in frustration, not fun — but they want the exploration achievement.” Somehow I don’t think that was not the reaction ANet wanted.

As a for-instance, take Heart of the Waves story mode. There are two encounters, the Champion Icebrood and the Corrupted Voice, where the target mob is just a big bag of health. My group’s bars seldom went down at all.

The final boss, the Kodan Hunter, has a bird attack. Several times when targeted by it, I would dodge, it would hit in mid-dodge. Sometimes a second dodge would shake it, sometimes not. Since I have 20 points into Vitality plus Vitality gear, I could survive this if full when targeted. Pity the poor sucker who isn’t specced that way.

The other thing about dungeon design is that condition removal seems to be about forcing mobs to rebuild stacks, since many of them they re-apply the conditions as soon as you remove them.

Level 78 greens are useless. At the least the rewards should be L80 golds.

The game is hard for levelling at the moment

For example, in Lornar’s Pass over the last couple of days, there were three events/chains that seemed to work. People were spamming them. Despite that, I found myself doing hearts considerably over my level. While I also have hope that ANet will fix things sooner rather than later, I have to agree that the game is not making a good impression at the moment.

how long does it take YOU to level?

Never timed it, but my main at 80 had been played ~142 hours, so that averages out to 1.775 hours per level.

80, Warrior, 8/10.

Silly respawn rates are a bit of a drag. At least give me time to pick up loot.

Vitality and Health.... why so low?

in Guardian

IndigoSundown.5419

We get Aegis, Blind, Protection, other blocks/barriers, and multiple forms of healing.

If you find a Guardian at 5k health, and a Warrior at 5k health, the Warrior will be cake while the Guardian can still put up a fight.

As for base health, the Warrior has about 7k more than the Guardian, not 15k.

Yah. My Warrior has ~27k health and that is with all Carrion Gear, Vitality jewelry and 20 points into the Vitality trait.

I don’t have a lot to add, since my Ele has only gotten to the mid-20’s. However, I do find the class to be lacking, especially in comparison to Thief, Ranger, Warrior and Guardian. With my limited experience, I believe that the OP is mostly correct, especially in regard to long casts, and long CD’s on some spells.

No idea what people are doing that I’m not, or what I’m doing that you’re not.

I’ve only gotten appropriate-to-mob’s-level items (like fangs, claws, dust, sacs, etc.) in lower-level zones. Also, I’d say that more than 50% of my salvageable gear drops are mob-level-appropriate, not character appropriate. After completing Caledon, I had a mostly-full bag that contained 2 high level items and the rest were zone level ones. Finally, the only items I cannot salvage are those from Karma vendors.

Btw, why was it bad for people to want to turn Karma into cash?

Signet is fine; banner is ok but needs work; Juggernaut is terrible. I really wish utility skills worked more like GW1 skills. There are plenty of times I’d rather equip one of the non-elites in the elite slot.
